Recently, by increasing the importance of the western China as consumer market, the need for a systematic and scientific study of the western Chinese consumers has been raised. This study researches how country image and product attributes as well as brand personality influence the western Chinese consumers' selection of Korean products. This study used the data which were collected through survey of adult consumers residing at six city of western China on Korean products' selection. Then the results are used for statistical analysis. The empirical findings are as follows: country image and product attributes as well as brand personality influence on the western Chinese consumers' selection of Korean products although there exist difference. Among three factors, the western Chinese consumers have most influences by product attributes. And brand personality in relation to its symbolic aspect has an important influence on the western Chinese consumer's Korean products selection. This study has presented the main implications of the preferred marketing strategies for Korean enterprises in the western China on the basis of these research results.

Mugunghwa, one of the most prominent national symbols of Korea, is a significant design source for producing cultural products. However, there has been a limitation to reflecting the identity of Korea using the design due to a lack of study and analysis of characteristics of Mugunghwa in history. Therefore, the researchers analyzed the design characteristics of Mugunghwa in cultural artifacts such as costumes, money, and stamps. Based on this, the study puts forward the following suggestions. First, the patterns of Mugunghwa should be categorized as a solo figure, a flower with pastels and the stem and a group of flowers as a unit. Second, there are two ways of expressing the flower: using realism and abstraction. Mugunghwa comprises of five pastels with elongated depth in the middle. The pastels spread out like the spokes of a wheel from the center; leaving a feeling of unevenness and the rims of the pastels are shaped in waves. The study puts forward the following suggestion: First, find the prototypes for different design characteristics. Second, develop motifs and patterns that reflect the given prototypes. Finally, apply the design to most popular cultural items such as T-shirts, neckties and bags. The ultimate purpose of the study lies with the hope that it will contribute to promoting the Korean beauty throughout the world.

Today, the structure of terrorist organizations in the form of a variety of network complexity are evolving. However, terrorist organization not combining randomly generated network but preferential attachment a network. So, it's research should be preceded a better understanding about the characteristics and type of terror network for a effective counter-terrorism policy of law enforcement. In addition, the appropriate response strategy have to technique establish in an era of smart media. In particular, homegrown terrorist attacks on unspecified people without boundaries of countries and regions unlike the traditional terrorism. Also, homegrown terrorism are violence and criminal activity by new various of religion, politics, philosophy. Besides the extreme members of homegrown terror networks went grow up through the evolutionary process in the age of smart media. Law enforcement agencies must identify the terrorist network at the national level. Therefore, terror networks evolving in the online space, forming a radical homegrown terror organizations have access to the network. Intelligence community track terrorist networks and to block the negative aspects of the smart media outlets should be considered.

This paper evaluates the historical development of national park policy and administration in Japan from the perspective of achieving sustainable development in nationally important ecological areas. Contrary to the widely held belief, the national park system in Japan has been unsuccessful in balancing conservation and development. The fundamental reasons for its failure are as follows: the Japan's national park system has been largely founded and developed based on economic grounds and held sway by economic development policy; the policy and administrative coordination between government units concerning conservation and development has not been carried out; public participation and environmental groups' involvement in the decision making have been extremely limited; national parks have been perceived in the public image not as distinctive national heritage but as finest and popular tourist sites; and the dominant interest of tourism and recreational development has prevailed over conservation interest. Japan's unsuccessful experience and lessons imply that there is urgent need to drastically reform our national park system, largely founded on the Japanese model, in order to save our last national environmental heritage.

As the scope of the target of terrorism is recently extending, the danger of domestic terroristic attacks is increasing constantly, and the form of terrorism is changing from hard targets such as significant facilities of the country into soft target of multi-complex buildings such as skyscrapers. Accordingly this study analyzes the terrorism threat level on skyscrapers by comparing the assessment results of the terrorism threat level on skyscrapers and high-rise buildings with the assessment results of the terrorism threat level on low-rise buildings through fema 455 - Rapid Visual Screening. As a result, skyscrapers and high-rise buildings are relatively higher threat rating than consequences and vulnerability rating. This is caused by the fact that the terrorism threat level on skyscrapers is high due to their residents and their national or regional symbolism and visibility

Olympic uniforms emphasize aesthetics along with sports fashion trends and tendencies to display national competitiveness through colorful designs that use the national flag or colors as motifs. Korea needs to enhance the national brand through international sporting events such as the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games (30 years after the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games); therefore, a multilateral analysis is required to promote a global image of Korea. This study presents a development direction for more diverse national brand values for Korea through design research on Olympic uniforms. Research methods investigated the concepts and changes of the Geongongamli, and Taegeuk symbols as well as Olympic uniforms based on literature data and existing studies using uniforms. An Olympic uniform using symbols of the Korean flag was designed through a case analysis of Olympic uniform designs of countries that participated in the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games and 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games that reflect the countries' image. The research scope excluded uniforms for the actual games and limited the uniforms to official uniforms for the opening ceremony that represent the characteristics of each country; consequently, we analyzed 70 uniforms of 162 countries of the Winter Olympic Games. As a result, official national symbols were more frequently reflected than unofficial symbols in the uniform designs of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games with more frequencies of direct reflection than indirect reflection. Korea's national brand is expected to enhanced through a uniform that expresses Korea's image at international events and global exchanges.

This article investigates the role of Japan in Korean consumption of Nordic design. In spite of the development of greater access to wide information and global markets, the popular trends in Korea have been mediated by Japan. The cultural power of Japan comes from otaku subculture. Japanese influence can be discussed by two sides. One is the images or symbols composing the Nordic style in Korea. The other is the way how to consume the Nordic design. Japanese neopop images combined with the Nordic design. Japanese 'slow movie' has combined American Kinfolk style with Nordic style. 'Database consumption' from otaku subcultre conceptualized by Azma Hiroki can be applied to Korean consumption of Nordic design.

This study started from an interest in the unique history and literature of Okinawa and Jeju Islands. The Battle of Okinawa at a late stage of the Asia-Pacific theatre of World War II, and the indiscriminate violence in the 4.3 Jeju Massacre directly show the shared tragedy of the two islands; furthermore, they are are both located on the frontier of a nation's authority, and thus are symbolic cases. This thesis analyzes Oshiro Tatsuhiro's Island of the Gods and Hyun, Ki Young's Sooni's Uncle, both directly deal with the tragedy of two different but analogous incidents, and question the difference in memory struggle and definitions. Thus, though both novels show a similarity in focusing on and exposing the forbidden memory of mass suicide and massacre, the methods of suggesting the course of memory struggle are different. For example, in contrast to Hyun who took a different approach from the fury, accusations, and violence of South Korea to espoused forgiveness and reconciliation, Oshiro showed the changes in the form of responding to the mainland Japan.

식민지하 동남아 천년왕국 운동에 대한 오늘날의 해석들은 그 주체인 농민들을 식민주의를 개념화하고 저항하는 동기와 조건 그리고 상징을 제공하는 토착 지식의 전수자로 간주한다. 종말론과 저항에 대한 관심의 대부분은 농민연구나 지역연구 학자들로부터 유래하며, 이들은 봉기에 대한 과거의 묘사들이 토착의 정신세계를 간과했거나 국가이념을 저항세력들의 결집원리로 과대 포장한 것에 주의를 기울인다. 천년왕국 봉기에 관한 글들에서 제공하는 해석들은 동남아 신념 체계에 관한 독립적인 관점을 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 인식론적 측면에서 식민지국가들을 이와 같은 전통에서 단절시키고 있다. 영국 식민지하에서 최대의 농민반란인 서야쌍 봉기(1930-1932)는 오늘날 이와 같은 천년왕국 운동의 정수를 보여주는 사례로 간주된다. 학자들은 수천 명의 농민들로 하여금 버마인의 권위를 되찾고, 불교를 회복시키며, 식민통치로 인해 낳은 사회-경제적 부조리를 일소시킬 그들의 왕으로 믿게 만든 한 농부의 흥미로운 이야기를 묘사하고 있다. 일련의 반란이 미신에 의해 추동되었다고 간주한 식민지 관찰자들과는 달리 이후의 역사가들은 그 반란이 불교를 재건하고 태평성대로 인도할 미래부처인 미륵불의 현신에 대한 믿음의 표현이라고 해석했다. 이러한 학자들에게 서야쌍 봉기는 어떻게 동남아 사람들의 감수성이 식민지의 사회-경제적 압력 속에서도 지속되었으며, 상좌불교의 예언이 토착의 문화적 토양에 얼마나 깊이 내재해 있는지를 말해주는 사례였다. 경험적 관점에서 본 글은 서야쌍 봉기의 근원을 재해석함으로써 천년왕국 봉기에 관한 글들이 대부분 식민지적 문서화 작업과 종교를 과장되고 세속화된 화술로 믿게 하려고 지역연구자들의 산물임을 밝히고 있다. 개념적 관점에서 본고는 버마에서 일어난 천년왕국 운동의 역사적 구성에 대한 식민주의의 역할을 보다 면밀히 관찰하였다. 또한 식민지법, 학문, 그리고 식민지하 버마 농촌에서 발생한 종교적 저항에 대한 우리들의 이해를 상호 연결하는 인식론적 관계를 탐구했다. 그리하여 본고는 천년왕국 해석이 이 시기에 공존했던 다른 유형의 불교정치적 형태를 어떻게 왜곡했는가를 밝히고 있다.
