  • It has been designed GUI(graphic user interface) to consult the convenience of a input data and the flexibility that can be retrieved dismantling information relation to decommissioning DB of KRR1&2. The GUI can proceed an input materials and a search and output of a saved data in server based on a facility code and also have a function of explorer which can find the lower dismantling objects in each facilities. It has added the structure of the multimedia that could be showed a series of dismantling activities with a Mpeg and pictures into the GUI. In the future work, Decommissioning DB and User Interface are intend to contribute a functions that could be evaluate and analyze for a dismantling activities with a engineering theory.

  • In this study, scaled model tests were performed on blasting demolition of reinforced concrete structures and the experimental results were analyzed in comparison with the results of numerical analysis. The tests were designed to induce a progressive collapse, and physical properties of the scaled model were determined using scale factors obtained ken dimension analysis. The scaled model structure was made of a mixture of plaster, sand and water at the ratio determined to yield the best scaled-down strength. Lead wire was used as a substitute for reinforcing bars. The scaled length was at the ratio of 1/10. Selecting the material and scaled factors was aimed at obtaining appropriately scaled-down strength. PFC2D (Particle Flow Code 2-Dimension) employing DEM (Distinct Element Method) was used for the numerical analysis. Blasting demolition of scaled 3-D plain concrete laymen structure was filmed and compared to results of numerical simulation. Despite the limits of 2-D simulation the resulting demolition behaviors were similar to each other. Based on the above experimental results in combination with bending test results of RC beam, numerical analysis was carried out to determine the blasting sequence and delay times. Scaled model test of RC structure resulted in remarkably similar collapse with the numerical results up to 900㎳ (mili-second).

  • The decommissioning of Kori unit 1, which was permanently shut down in June of 2017, will be the first instance of the dismantling of a commercial nuclear power plant in Korea. The disposal of waste during the dismantling process accounts for a large part of the total decommissioning cost. Therefore, structures consisting of activated and contaminated concrete must be economically and safely dismantled by establishing a proper dismantling strategy. This study focuses on optimized dismantling and disposal scenarios pertaining to a biological shield. Several dismantling cases, regulations and technologies related to waste treatment as these practices pertain to nuclear power plants are analyzed. To minimize the amount of waste from the biological shield dismantling process, an optimized dismantling scenario is presented and disposal alternatives for dismantled concrete waste are proposed.

  • Amount of demolished concretes is highly produced as dismantlement of structures to increased owing to usage alteration and deteriorated of concrete structures, but most of them have been used as material for simple reclamation. Therefore, if demolished concrete could be recycled as aggregate for concrete. it will contribute to solve the exhaustion of nature aggregate, in terms of saving resources and protecting environment, especially being want of resources in Korea. In this study it was investigated into experimental results that were carried out demolished concrete recycled aggregate gained from dismantled real structures and source concrete recycled aggregate produced according to respectively 5 steps of replacement ratio for recycling as pavement concrete aggregate.

  • Due to the improvement and stabilization of the social environment, construction market in the urban region is under shrinking. According, researches to lengthen the service life of the existing building structures are under the way through the remodeling or maintenance of deteriorated structures other than the new constructions. Similar situations are widely discussed in the domestic building construction market and the social importance of the remodeling of the existing building structures is increased. Although the structural stability of the building is uncertain due to the frequent repairing and structural changing, the remodeling works are usually conducted. In general, documents such as drawings and calculations for the design of the deteriorated structure to be remodeled are not kept. Accident at the remodeling site frequently occur because of the lack of thorough understanding of changed situations such as loadings, loading paths, changing of the mechanical properties of material, etc. In this paper, using the finite element analysis method, we investigated the structural behaviors of slab in the remodeling building and the results are applied to remodeling construction, and the appropriateness of the remodeling works are evaluated.

  • Domestic explosive demolition techniques have been developed and applied for low-rise structures up to now. However, the demand for the development of those techniques that can be applied economically, safely and environment-friendly rapidly increases because the old high-rise RC rahmen structures that were built since around 1970s are now required to rebuild. As a result, element technologies of explosive demolition for low-rise structures were applied to take advantage of technology in high-rise structures that performed application testing at Chungang Department demolition field in Daejeon city. It could judge elements technology establishment for high-rise structure demolition and field application and suggest the improvements when the problems occurred to develop High-rise building demolition techniques for method of protection a field test and the dust reduction test. The water cannon test was applied to reduce the dust site and the drilling tests are performed to select the best components for explosives demolition elements techniques of the reliability. This paper shows that we have the ability to remove a high-rise building using environmentally friendly safe and economical explosives demolition method. It would contribute to prevent a foreign company from entering the domestic market and should contribute to acquire competitiveness of domestic demolition industry.

  • For demolition of offshore facilities, traditional methods such as jackhammer and explosive methods have been often used in construction industry. However, prohibitions for use of those methods are becoming more rigorous especially in environmentally and historically sensitive areas. It was also reported that the explosive demolition method on maritime bedrock can cause a disturbance of ecosystem. For those reasons, use of soundless chemical demolition agent(SCDA) is getting the spotlight. However, researches regarding the mechanical point of SCDA have seldom performed. There is no industrial standard for use of SCDA yet. In this study, a pilot experimental study in order to measure the required expansive pressure that could be generated from SCDA was conducted. Numerical models were developed in order to estimate the required expansive pressures of SCDA for initiating cracks depending on selected key parameters. Obtained results indicate that the required pressure does not decrease linearly as increasing the hole diameter, the number of holes, and the ratio of hole-distance to hole-diameter.
