This study classified consumers' behaviors of purchasing gifts, divided groups by the types of similar behaviors, and examined impacts of demographic variables, relevant variables in purchasing processes on those behaviors. Findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, factors explaining consumers' behaviors of purchasing gifts were the tendency of demonstrative purchase, the level of placing values to the meaning of gifts, the level of altruism and rationality in the purchase of gifts, and the tendency of impulsive purchase. On the basis of these five factors, five distinct consumer groups showing similar behaviors of purchasing gifts based on the results of Cluster analysis were identified. Those groups were impulsiveㆍdemonstrative groups, impulsiveㆍnon-sincere groups, indifferent groups, non-impulsiveㆍdemonstrative groups, non-altruistic'ㆍrational groups, sincere groups, and altruisticㆍrational groups. Second, behaviors of purchasing gifts showed significant differences depending on gender, educational levels, occupational types, and women's employment status. Consumers with high education, professional occupation, high income tended to show the demonstrative purchase. Male consumers were not interested in the purchases of gifts and placed high values on the meanings of gifts. In contrast, female consumers showed rational behavior, but revealed the tendency of demonstrative in the purchase of gifts as well. Finally, behaviors of purchasing gifts were also different depending on the method of gathering consumer information, places of purchasing gifts, experiences of ordering paid wrapping gifts and the relevant costs, consumers' evaluations of the purchases of gifts, and degrees of satisfaction after the purchase of gifts. Impulsive'ㆍdemonstrative groups and non-impulsive'ㆍ demonstrative groups preferred departments as places of purchasing gifts and choose ordering paid wrapping gifts but showed dissatisfactions after purchases of gifts. Consumers who belongs to non-altruistic'ㆍrational groups, sincere groups, and altruistic'ㆍ rational groups tended to prefer local stores in their own villages as places of purchasing gifts and did not order paid wrapping gifts while showing high after the purchase of gifts.
The Purpose of this study is to help the neck-tie business enterprise establish the reasonable marketing strategy meeting consumer' needs by grasping their characteristic of purchasing neck-ties and their attitudes toward trademarks. The findings of this study are as follows : 1. It was shown that the neck-tie enterprise tended to appeal to megazines, catalogues , etc as promotional politics, while the tips obtained by consumers would come from the showcase at the purchasing place. and the consumer showed a positive response to the salesperson's advice. For this result, it is required to place further emphasis on the marketing policy such as the display of products at the store or the education of sales persons. 2. It was shown that the consumer tended to use the department store as the purchasing place remarkably, and so it could be found that the use of the department store is becoming generalized to the consumer. But is was shown that the consumer sensitive to prices tended to make use of the marketplace as the purchasing place, so the practical marketing strategy should be established in relation to this trend. 3. The important elements excreting an influence on the consumer's purchasing the neck-tie were shown to be in orders of design > color> harmony > with suit > price > quality, and the product differentiation policy used by the business enterprise to appeal to the consumer was shown to be in orders of design >color > quality > material > price. Accordingly , it was consistent with the consumer's criterion for choice to an extent. 4. It was shown that the selling price for the neck-tie brand actually was higher for imported or technically cooperated brands than for the home-made brand. Thus, the consumer's perception of the price for the neck-tie was consistent with in this regard, consumers did not feel some difference in quality between the home -made neck-tie brand and the imported or technically cooperated neck-tie brand . Therefore, it is important to produce the product capable of satisfying the consumer's need by manufacturing the own brand on basis of impored technology.
This study mainly focuses on the dissatisfaction of the post-purchase behavior regarding the consumer dissatisfaction complaining behavior and repurchase intention In the literature study approach it was hypothe-sized that dissatisfaction variables was consisted of the cognitive process and emotion. And the dissatisfaction variables and the individual vari-ables and situational variables were set up to contribute to form the complaining behavior. In the process of the complaining behavior the first thing the consumers would do when they would seek for redress or not. Consumers who sought redress and actually received the fair treatment from a store practiced positive word-of-mouth. However consumers who received unfair treat-ment practived negative word-of-mouth exit behavior or the third party complaining Behavior. And consumers who did not seek any redress either showed exit behavior practiced negative word-of-mouth or no complaining behavior at all. Therefore. complaining behavior process consists of redress seeking process and non-redress seeking process. For the empirical study the survey method was used and two other researches were previously conducted. First of all the research was designed to comprehend consumer complaining behaviors process Secondly it was conducted for measuring validity and reliability: Cronbach's q. The sqmple was 569 women aged 2-'s to 5-'s living in Seoul and other suburban areas. The various methods were used to analyze the date such as frequency, percentage and multiple regression analysis. Overall the results were verified. 1) The dissatisfaction variables and individual variables influenced situational variables. 2) The complaining behavior intention was affected by dissatisfaction variables indivi-dual variables and situational variables. 3) The repurchase intention occurred more when the justice was performed Consequently the complaining behavior proce-dure was consisted of the redress seeking and non-redress seeking. And dissatisfaction vari-ables and individual variables were verified to influnce situational variables. These complaining behavior variables affected complaining behavior Especially in a case of redress seeking process complaining behavior and repurchase rate were highly affected by the perceived justice from a store.
The clothing behavior of male homosexuals were examined. Especially their clothing preference, clothing purchase behavior and clothing symbols as a group took were analysed. The subject was 49 male-homosexuals and the survey was done at the tray bars in Yi-Tae-Won in Seoul. The questionnaire and interview method were broth used to collect the data. The findings from the study were as follows : 1. The casual style was mostly preferred and lightly-fitted style was more preferred than loose style. Both straight type blue jeans and tight-fit style were widely worn by the subject. 2 Among design, price, color, fashion trend and sewing quality. design was the most important factor In clothing purchase. Besides design, color and fashion trend were counted more seriously than price or sowing quality. Blue and black were preferred as clothing colors. 3. Department stores were the most popular shopping place. and then traditional markets and shops near Universities were also preferred. Over 60% of the subjects answered that the decision of clothing purchase was made by himself and 20% of the subject used friend as personal information sources. The score stimuli was the most frequently used information for apparel shopping, and fashion magazines were also used as an important information source. 4. The clothing related symbols used to represent group look were lightly-fitted style. right ear-piercing, tight-fit plaid pants, leather look, rainbow flag, bandannas, reversed triangle. etc. And the subjects thought the symbols were not meaningful as group look because they were already adopted by the non-homosexual people. And they thought that their style of fashion has influenced on that of mass.
The purpose of this study is to investigate, analyze the purchasing behavior of fashion goods according to life style and role model of preteen generation, and provide manager or marketing planner for the reference data so that they can understand preteen generation and make proper strategy efficiently. So called, preteen market focusing on 1014 generation (from ten to fourteen years old) is highlighted. This generation created between the year 1989 to 1993 after Seoul Olympic monopolize parent's love in abundant economic environment and rise to the core of consumption subject. Products aiming at this preteen generation continuously though consumption mind was shrunk greatly due to recession. Only 2~3 years before preteen market was regarded as grey zone which doesn't belong to not only children (between six and nine years old) but also teenagers (between fifteen to eighteen years old). But in recent day their purchasing powers have increased rapidly and age group is divided on details, so that preteen market has become a niche market. Subjects were 333 persons consisting of students in the 4th~6th grade of primary school and the 1st~2nd grade of middle school in Daegu city. Measuring instruments are as follows: 5questions to differentiate preteen generation, 22 questions to measure life style, 17questions (which have six sub-factors such as purchase motive, factor of product selection, utilization of informant, purchase time, purchase place, and purchase method) to measure the purchase behavior of fashion goods measurement, and 16 questions (which have four sub-factors such as parent, entertainer & sports stars, brothers and sisters, friends) to measure model of role. Statistical data were processed by SPSS 10.0 programs. Frequencies, Factor analysis, Cluster analysis, ANOVA, Cross analysis, Multiplex regression analysis, and Duncan's multiple range test were carried out.
The purpose of this research was to examine the trend of women consumption value and attitude on luxury goods and to analyse the relations between the behavior of purchasing luxury goods and satisfaction of consumers who buy luxury items. A total of 548 questionnaires were obtained in July and August 2011 from female respondents in their 20s to 40s who have bought at least one luxury item in the last 3 years. Collected data was analysed with factor analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's test, and multiple regression in SPSS. The research results are summarized as follows: First, household income and personal expenditure were main factors in determining substantial differences in attitudes towards luxury goods and counterfeits. Second, the difference in frequency of buying luxury items was decided by household income, and expenditure and purchase cost, which varied based on age, education, occupation, household income, and expenditure. Third, both the younger consumers with more household income and expenditure and consumers with positive attitude towards luxury items but negative attitude towards the counterfeits purchased the luxury goods more frequently than those who are older with less incomes and expenditures. Fourth, consumers with more incomes and expenditures along with negative attitude towards the counterfeits spent more money on the luxury items. Consumers with less personal ostentation but with great pleasure consumption value for luxury goods spent more money on luxury goods. Fifth, the satisfactions of purchasing luxury goods were influenced by following variables such as positive attitudes toward luxury goods, ostentation, enjoyment and quality in consumption value.
This study started from the point that female consumers have powerful effects on selection and purchase of products. Liquor is consumed by men more than women, but a population of women drinking liquor is increasing due to "wellbeing and a tendency to lower alcoholicity" of soju. Through priming effects, this study estimated and tested how liquor advertising which had been made focusing on male consumers could appeal to female consumers and affect their purchase. The results of this study revealed that the subjects were partially influenced by priming effects when the experimental image and the interference image were connected to each other in terms of their meaning. This study showed that if scenes in advertising, no matter how short they were, were in a similar situation, priming effects occurred and consumers had a positive attitude toward behavior which appeared in the advertising. In order that advertising of male-dominated products such as cars in addition to liquor may appeal to female consumers, situational factors have to be suitable to create priming effects. If such priming effects are advertising making and arrangement, advertising can appeal to female consumers more easily.
This study gives information for the enterprise to map out a positive marketing strategy and facilitate a new product development by researching and analyzing the specific character of the high income woman-brackets. In order to do that, based upon the materials of the National Statistical office, I made a selection of the high income brackets, subdividing their scholastic ability into four serfs. The subject of the study was the women from twenties to sixties among customers of a high class dress shop in Taejeon. I made up 600 questionnaires for them. using 441 of these for the statistical analysis and making available the correlation analysis, the primary factor analysis, and $X^2$-test. This study is classified into the type of women customers purchasing clothes who are the high-income brackets. Intended to study a special quality of purchasing according to income. 1. The purchasing manner of the high-income brackets customers is exposed the luxurious vain purchasing manner, the rational reasonable manner, and idiosyncrasy individual manner in order 1) The consumer of the high-income brackets in general prefer to a high class clothes. In the contrast, low-income brackets prefer to rational reasonable consumption in spending money on clothes. 2) The favorite consumption manner of the high income brackets is the luxurious vain purchasing manner. This consumption values the more symbolic means the things show than owing the goods. 2. The higher standard of education and younger tends to be high in the luxurious, vain purchasing. 3. The unreasonable purchasing show an high irrelation at the impulse buying arid self-satisfaction. 4. Self-satisfaction shows the highest interrelation than any other variations in the concern of clothes. 5. The symbolic images which exerts an influence upon purchasing manner are the notable elements of constituting as growing older. 6. The high standard of education prefers to the rational resonable purchasing, but on the other hand shows a high rate at the unreasonable individual purchasing manner.
the main purpose of this study was to inves-tigate the consumer dissatisfaction and com-plaining behavior in purchase and use by con-sumer value. The subjects participated this study were 204 female students. They were classified into 3 groups by important degree of instrumental value which is one of the 2 value categories that divided by the Rokeach. The Clothing Purchase Dissatisfaction Inventory was used and The Consumer Complaining Behavior Inventory was adapted to asses consumer complaining behavior. The Clothing Purchase Dissatisfaction Inventory has 4 subscales(Price related factor Produt and Quality related factor Information and Service related factor Purchase decision-mak-ing related factor)and The Consumer Complaining behavior Inventory consisted in 3 subscales(Do nothing Private complaining Public complaining) Using SAS package in order to examine Clothing Purchase Dissatisfaction Inventory scores anaslysis of variance (MANOVA) was excuted And turkety test a kind of post-hoc multiple comparisons methods was adapted to compare Clothing Purchase Dissatisfaction In-ventory scores of each groups. in order to in-vestigate consumer complaining behavior by each groups and grade major pocket money a month the mean purchse price of clothing a month x2-test Frequency Percent were executed. Conclusion eached in this study are as fol-low: 1. Each group had differences in price re-lated factor Product nad Quality related fac-tor Information and Service related factor ex-cept Purchase decision -making related factor Groups which made much of value tend to dis-satisfy in price related facor Product and Quality related factor Information and Service related factor. 2. Group that made much of value had more high scores in private complaining complainto third party and the middle group had more high scores in private complaining . Group made little of value tended to do nothing. 3. Grade major pocket money a monty the mean purchase price of clothing a month didn't have difference signficantly in consumer behavior. but major had difference on private complaining.
The globalization of Korean food has long been an important agenda for both the Korean government and food-related firms, and there have been many trials and errors because of cultural differences in food consumption habits. This study explores Chinese consumers' purchase behaviors toward chicken menus, and for a better understanding of these behaviors, the study considers differences in consumer behavior in between Chinese and Korean consumers around Daejeon, South Korea. The sample included a total of 232 respondents who provided information on their purchase behaviors toward chicken menus. A total of 13 purchasing attributes were compared through a t-test, and according to the results, there were significant differences in 6 attributes: "like the taste" (p<0.001), "as a side dish for drinks" (p<0.001), "to feel good" (p<0.01), "like all chicken dishes" (p<0.05), "for health" (p<0.05), and "low prices" (p<0.05). The results for chicken consumption indicate significant differences in frequency (p<0.05), goals (p<0.01), and expected fair prices (p<0.05). These results suggest that, to make Korean chicken dishes a global Korean menu, future research should focus on consumers' motives for purchasing chicken menus, satisfaction, and characteristics. The generalizability of the results may be limited because the survey was conducted by considering only those students in the Daejeon area. Future research should include a wider range of consumers in both Korea and China for better strategic plans for food-related firms.
