Design and Fabrication of Multi-mode Wideband Tonpilz Transducers (다중모드 광대역 Tonpilz 트랜스듀서의 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, we designed a wideband Tonpilz transducer, and verified the validity of the design through experiments. The wide frequency bandwidth was achieved by coupling the fundamental longitudinal mode of the transducer with a flapping mode of the head mass. Structure of the Tonpilz transducer was optimized by means of the finite element method and genetic algorithm to achieve the widest fractional bandwidth under design constraints. The optimized structure showed a far wider -6 dB fractional bandwidth of transmitting responses than that of single mode transducers. For verification of the design result, we manufactured a transducer prototype of the designed structure and characterized its performance, which showed good agreement with the design results.

  • Natural interface is important to select and provide the services in ubiquitous smart space such as u-plant, u-distribution. Augmented Reality(AR) has recently begun to receive attention as a realization tool for natural interface. AR provides virtual object on real environment and it differs from virtual reality. When AR is used, it has advantage to provide information intuitively and collaboratively. However AR is rarely used in e-commerce domain of ubiquitous smart space, and it has limitation which predefined information and services provide in a static manner. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a methodology of AR based e-commerce which provides personalized association service by considering user's dynamic context. To do so, association algorithm is developed based on Rescorla-Wagner model and Galton's free association test.

Stable lateral-shearing interferometer for in-line inspection of aspheric pick-up lenses (생산 라인에서의 광 Pick-up용 비구면 대물 렌즈 측정을 위한 안정된 층밀리기 간섭계)

  • Aspheric pick-up lenses are increasingly used in consumer products such as computer and multimedia, as their mass production has become possible owing to the injection molding process. However still much work needs to be done for more effective manufacture of aspheric lenses, one area of which is the in-line inspection of produced lenses. In this paper, we present a lateral-shearing interferometer that has specially been designed to have a high immunity to external vibration and atmospheric disturbance. The interferometer comprises four prisms. They are directly attached to each other using an immersion oil so that relative sliding motions between the prisms are allowed. Their relative displacement can readily generate necessary lateral-shearing and phase-shifting to determine the wavefront of the beam collimated by the lens under inspection. A special phase-measuring algorithm of arbitrary-bucket is adopted to compensate the phase-shifting error caused by the thickness reduction in the immersion oil. Zernike polynomial fitting has done for determinating quantitative aberration of aspheric pick-up lenses. The interferometer built in this work is robust to external mechanical vibration and atmospheric disturbance so that experimental results show that it has a repeatability of less than λ/100.

  • Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) have been expanding gradually their awlications in the variable speed drives due to their relatively low cost, simple and robust structure, controllability and high efficiency. In this paper neural network theory is used to detemrine fuzzy-neural network controller's membership ftmctions and fuzzy rules. In addition neural network emulator is used to emulate forward dynamics of SRM and to get error signal at fuzzy-neural controller output layer. Error signal is backpropagated through neural network emulator. The backpropagated error of emulator offers the path which reforms the fuzzy-neural network controller's mmbership ftmctions and fuzzy rules. 32bit Digital Signal Processor(TMS320C31) was used to achieve the high speed control and to realize the fuzzy-neural control algorithm. Simulation and experimental results show that in the case of load variation the proposed control rrethcd was superior to a conventional rrethod in the respect of speed response.sponse.

  • This paper developed a home wellness robot platform to perform the roles in basic health care and life care in an aging society. A robotic platform and a sensory platform were implemented for an indoor wellness service. In the robotic platform, the precise mobility and the dexterous manipulation are not only developed in a symbiotic service-robot, but they also ensure the robot architecture of human friendliness. The mobile robot was made in the agile system, which consists of Omni-wheels. The manipulator was made in the anthropomorphic system to carry out dexterous handwork. In the sensing platform, RF tags and stereo camera were used for self and target localization. They were processed independently and cooperatively for accurate position and posture. The wellness robot platform was integrated in a real-time system. Finally, its good performance was confirmed through live indoor tests for health and life care.

  • While IoT (Internet of Things) industry has been spreading, it becomes very important for object to recognize user's information by itself without any control. Above all, gender (male, female) is dominant factor to analyze user's information on account of social and biological difference between male and female. However since each gender consists of diverse face feature, face-based gender classification research is still in challengeable research field. Also to apply gender classification system to IoT, size of device should be reduced and device should be operated with low power. Consequently, To port the function that can classify gender in real-world, this paper contributes two things. The first one is new gender classification algorithm based on deep learning and the second one is to implement real-time gender classification system in embedded board operated by low power. In our experiment, we measured frame per second for gender classification processing and power consumption in PC circumstance and mobile GPU circumstance. Therefore we verified that gender classification system based on deep learning works well with low power in mobile GPU circumstance comparing to in PC circumstance.

  • For the fault diagnosis of three-phase induction motors, we construct a experimental unit and then develop a diagnosis algorithm based on pattern recognition. The experimental unit consists of machinery module for induction motor drive and data acquisition module to obtain the fault signal. As the first step for diagnosis procedure, preprocessing is performed to make the acquired current simplified and normalized. To simplify the data, three-phase current is transformed into the magnitude of Concordia vector. As the next step, feature extraction is performed by kernel principal component analysis(KPCA) and linear discriminant analysis(LDA). Finally, we used the classifier based on radial basis function(RBF) network. To show the effectiveness, the proposed diagnostic system has been intensively tested with the various data acquired under different electrical and mechanical faults with varying load.

Sensing Model for Reducing Power Consumption for Indoor/Outdoor Context Transition (실내/실외 컨텍스트 전이를 고려한 저전력 센싱 모델)

  • With the spread of smartphones containing multiple on-board sensors, the market for context aware applications have grown. However, due to the limited power capacity of a smartphone, users feel discontented QoS. Additionally, context aware applications require the utilization of many forms of context and sensing information. If context transition has occurred, types of needed sensors must be changed and each sensor modules need to turn on/off. In addition, excessive sensing has been found when the context decision is ambiguous. In this paper, we focus on power consumption associated with the context transition that occurs during indoor/outdoor detection, modeling the activities of the sensor associated with these contexts. And we suggest a freezing algorithm that reduces power consumption in context transition. We experiment with a commercial application that service is indoor/outdoor location tracking, measure power consumption in context transition with and without the utilization of the proposed method. We find that proposed method reduces power consumption about 20% during context transition.

A Study on Filament Winding Tension Control using a fuzzy-PID Algorithm (퍼지-PID 알고리즘을 이용한 필라멘트 와인딩 장력제어에 관한 연구)

  • This thesis develops a fuzzy-PID control algorithm for control the filament winding tension. It is developed by applying classical PID control technique to a fuzzy logic controller. It is composed of a fuzzy-PI controller and a fuzzy-D controller. The fuzzy-PI controller uses error and integrated error as inputs, and the fuzzy-D controller uses derivative of error as input. The fuzzy-PI controller uses Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy inference system, and the fuzzy-D controller uses Mamdani fuzzy inference system. The fuzzy rule base for the fuzzy-PI controller is designed using 19 rules, and the fuzzy rule base for the fuzzy-D controller is designed using 5 rules. A test-bed is set-up for verifying the effectiveness of the developing control algorithm in control the filament winding tension. It is composed of a mandrel, a carriage, a force sensor, a driving roller, nip rollers, a creel, and a real-time control system. Nip rollers apply a vertical force to a filament, and the driving roller drives it. The real-time control system is developed by using MATLAB/xPC Target. First, experiments for showing the inherent problems of an open-loop control scheme in a filament winding are performed. Then, experiments for showing the robustness of the developing fuzzy-PID control algorithm are performed under various working conditions occurring in a filament winding such as mandrel rotating speed change, carriage traversing, spool radius change, and reference input change.

Application of MODSIM Model for Construction and Analysis of Supply and Demand System (물수급체계 구축과 분석을 위한 MODSIM 모형의 적용성 검토)

  • 우리나라는 수자원장기종합계획과 유역종합치수계획의 수립을 통해 수자원의 개발, 안정적인 공급과 효율적인 배분, 홍수재해방지 등을 위한 많은 노력을 해왔다. 최근에는 수자원의 관리효율화, 체계적 통합적으로 시행하고자 수자원법을 제정하여 수자원 관리의 체계를 개편하였으며, 향후 지자체 중심의 정량적인 물수급평가를 통해 현실적인 결과와 대안을 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 기존의 용수공급능력 평가와 물수급계획은 시 군 중심의 용수수요량을 바탕으로 중권역 단위로 확장하고, K-WEAP(Korea-Water Evaluation And Planing System) 모형을 활용하여 용수수급전망을 제시하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한강 권역을 중심으로 기존 계획에서 활용한 K-WEAP과 국내 외 활용도가 높은 MODSIM(Modified SIMYLD)을 활용하여 각 모형에 대한 입력자료, 내부 계산 알고리즘 및 분석방법 등 모형의 적용성을 검토하여 중권역 기반의 물수급 분석 결과를 비교 하였으며, 향후 모형 적용 시 고려사항 및 발생 가능한 오류를 최소화 할 수 있도록 하고자 하였다. 분석 결과, 기존 수자원장기종합계획에서 활용한 K-WEAP모형은 생 공 농업용수가 모두 동일우선순위이나, MODSIM모형에서는 수요지별 우선순위를 고려해야 하므로 상 하류간, 생활 공업, 농업으로 우선순위를 부여할 경우 물 부족량의 차이가 발생하였다. 우선순위 적용시 K-WEAP과 형과 MODSIM을 비교할 경우, 유사한 물부족량과 시점을 제공하고 있어 적용성과 분석결과의 일관성을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 같은 물부족 결과를 제공하는 조건의 검토 수행 시간 측면과 모형구동 결과의 안정성에서 MODSIM이 더 우수한 것으로 분석되어 향후 지자체 중심의 세부적인 물수급평가를 위해서는 빠른 의사결정을 도울 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
