The purpose of this study was to compare between early childhood teachers and mothers in oral health knowledge, oral health care behavior, and perception of oral health education. The subjects in this study were 90 early childhood teachers who worked in all of kindergartens and child-care centers and 235 mothers who have young children (aged from 1 to 5) in 2 kindergartens and 2 childcare centers Y region. They completed questionnaires about oral health knowledges, oral health care behaviors, and perception of oral health education. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, $x^2$-test, and Fisher's exact test of SPSS WIN. The results were as follows: 1. There was not statistically significant difference between early childhood teacher's knowledge about oral health and mothers'. 2. There was statistically significant difference between early childhood teachers' oral health care behaviors for children and mothers' in prevention of cavity, keeping toothbrushes, guiding oral health behaviors, and check up at dentist's. 3. There was statistically significant difference between early childhood teachers' perception of interest and experience in oral health education and mothers'. Therefore, There was not difference between early childhood teacher's knowledge about oral health and mothers. But early childhood teachers more frequently carry out preventing of cavity, keeping toothbrushes, guiding oral health behavior to their children than mothers. Mothers were more interested in oral health than early childhood teachers. And Mothers wanted to be educated about children' oral care and early childhood teachers wanted to be educated about guidebook and media of oral health education.
The aim of this study is understanding the relationship between degree of knowledge and actual condition on oral health care to raise people's attention on oral health care and to develop a oral health care program and respondents are 121 diabetes patients. The conclusion of this study is as follows; 1. In terms of degree of Knowledge, women have better knowledge on dental healthcare than men. People aged between 20 and 50 have relatively good knowledge and the longer patients fight against diabetes the more they know about oral healthcare. 2. In actual oral healthcare condition, only 21.5% of patients use rolling method. Patients who have good knowledge have relatively high frequency of dental treatment. Most patients see dentists for their oral healthcare consultation. 3. All the respondent group hesitate to have dental treatment because of expensive cost. Surprisingly. most patients with good knowledge answers that diabetes has nothing to do with dental disease. 4. In terms of degree of knowledge and having oral healthcare program, diabetes patients who are having programs has better knowledge. 5. Respondent group which has middle level of knowledge in oral healthcare give high marks on oral healthcare but does not show statistical significance.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze relation between dental health beliefs and dental health behavior in the high grade students of elementary school, so importance of dental health beliefs has been emphasized as a factor affecting dental health behavior. Methods: The subjects in this study were 490 students of 4, 5 and 6th grade students from elementary school in Daegu areas. The data was collected through a structured questionnaire on June 26, 2006. For data analysis, One-way ANOVA, T-test and Pearson's correlation test were utilized. Result: 1) Frequency of visit at dental clinic for one years was significantly correlated with academic years, also frequency of toothbrushing one day was significant difference with sex distinction. 2) Frequency of toothbrushing one day was significantly correlated with their's susceptibility and barrier. 3) Frequency of visit at dental clinic for one years was significantly correlated with their's susceptibility and seriousness. 4) Frequency of intake cariogenic food for one day was significantly correlated with their's susceptibility, seriousness, benefit and barrier. Conclusions: We found that student's dental health beliefs was significantly correlated with dental health behavior, so school health educators should encourage students to have properly dental care habits for lifelong dental health with practical education.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception, practice status and perceived oral health awareness of oral hygiene products in high school students and to utilize it as basic data for the development of programs that can use the correct oral hygiene products. The results of the self -filling questionnaire survey of 260 high school students in K area were as follows. (P <0.05), which showed a positive correlation with subjective oral health perception (p <0.05). his implies the need for education of oral hygiene products for proper practice in using oral hygiene products. The use of oral hygiene products was the highest in 1/3, but in practice, the total use was highest.It is thought that oral health education program that can affect not only the oral health education but also the practice is needed. For the students who have difficulty in accessing medical institutions due to their studies, the way to acquire oral health education is more important than the development of public health education programs and the implementation of oral health education.
The study aims to examine the knowledge and awareness of care workers on oral health knowledge at the geriatric care facilities in order to improve and develop oral health services. For the research method, the study carried out a questionnaire survey to 163 care workers working at the geriatric care facilities (10) in D Metropolitan City from May 1~31, 2015 and then the collected data were statistically analyzed. As a result, the oral health knowledge of care workers was 20.09 points out of total 26 points (77.2%). The highest knowledge was 'proper toothbrushing method' with 93.0% and the lowest one was 'knowledge on the use of oral supplementary goods' with 58.1%. Those with experience of oral health education had higher demand on oral health education (P<0.001), and those with higher experience of oral health education had significantly higher oral health knowledge (P<0.001), demand (P<0.01) and awareness (P<0.05). As for factors influencing care workers' oral health awareness, if they had higher oral health knowledge points (P<0.01), oral health education demand (P<0.01), they had higher oral health awareness level. Accordingly, it is required to provide efficient, sustainable and practical oral health education of care workers considering oral characteristics of the long-term hospitalized patients at the care hospital. And, the role of dental hygienist as the person in charge of oral health education is necessary. Therefore, institutional support from the government is required to assign professional personnel.

This study examined the effects of the levels of depression and oral health on the quality of life in workers participating in a self-sufficiency program in the Seoul metropolitan area. As for the study method, a questionnaire survey was conducted from July 26 to September 5, 2020, targeting 569 workers participating in a self-sufficiency program. Depression, Perio-Quotient Index, self-diagnosed oral symptoms, and oral health quality of life were the survey items investigated. The results were as follows. In the workers with systemic diseases, depression, Perio-Quotient Index, oral symptoms, and oral health quality of life were all negative. The level of depression was highly negative in both Perio-Quotient Index, oral symptoms, and oral health quality of life, showing statistically significant differences. In addition, depression showed a strong negative correlation with the Perio-Quotient Index, oral symptoms, and oral health quality of life. Depression, Perio-Quotient Index, and particularly oral symptoms negatively affected oral health and the quality of life. As workers participating in a self-sufficiency program are vulnerable to oral health problems, oral health education is required for the correct awareness and management of oral health, and oral health policy improvement for socially vulnerable groups is essential to ensure continued oral health management.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the status of oral health care in dementia patients living in long-term care facilities and to investigate the effects of this on swallowing function and swallowing-quality of life. The subjects were 60 demented patients who were admitted to long-term care facilities in Gwangju and Jeonnam provinces. Their Oral Health Assessment Tool(OHAT), Clinical Dysphagia Scale(CDS), and Oral Health Impact Profile 14(OHIP-14) were measured. The results of this study were as follows: First, the effect of oral health care on dentition patients using long-term care facilities on swallowing function and swallowing-quality of life was significantly different according to oral care score (p<.05)(p<.01). Second, the relationship between oral health care and swallowing function of dementia patients and swallowing-quality of life. was examined. As a result, oral health care of dementia patients was affected by swallowing function (r=.405, p<.01) the swallowing-quality of life (r=.462, p<.01) and swallowing function were significantly correlated with swallowing-quality of life (r=.351, p<.01). Therefore, the oral health care of users of long-term care facilities was closely related to swallowing function and swallowing-quality of life.
The purpose of this study was to obtain database for development of education and programs of dental examination in industries. survey and dental examination was conducted by dental hygienist and dentist, and the data from 1016 respondents were analyzed. The result obtained was as follows: 1. Dental disease was 58.2% among 1,016, there was most a lot of peridontal disease, and overlapping disease, dental caries, missing tooth, fracture and abrasion, in order. 2. Utilization of dental care was 40% for last six months, it was significant high that age and working periods, married in marriage state, and unhealthy in subjective dental health state. 3. It was significant high that woman, fourty ages, middle economic state and working periods in above three times of tooth brushing a day. 4. Utilization of dental hygiene auxiliary devices was 41.8%, it was significant high that age, marriage state, economic state and working periods. 5. As for relationship between dental disease status and dental health behaviors, a person without periodontal disease was significant high in above three times a day, and a person without extraction, a person with fracture and abrasion, a person without overlapping disease was significant high in utilization of dental hygiene auxiliary devices.
The purpose of this study was to provide information on goal setting for elementary oral-health education. The subjects in this study were 513, fourth and sixth graders from an elementary school located in the city of Iksan, north Jeolla province. It investigated the interrelation of the knowledge regarding the oral health of the elementary school student and conduct and with afterwords it got a same conclusion.: 1. The oral health knowledge degree of the investigation object people in 14 perfect score is not high is not with 8.77, the school girl oral health knowledge degree is higher the south student and than it was visible the difference which considers. 2. This study compared the effects of programs according to management type by preparing a manual for oral muscle exercises that integrates oral movement and oral massage. The program was performed on 14 elderly patients in a seniors' college self-practice program group and 28 elderly patients in a social welfare center expert intervention group. In the self-practice group, an expert demonstrated oral muscle exercises and subsequently encouraged self-practice by selecting an oral muscle exercise leader. In the expert intervention group, an expert demonstrated oral exercises on a one-on-one basis and subsequently gave oral muscle massages. In the self-practice group, there was no difference in saliva secretion (p=0.213) or oral dryness (p=0.206), after the intervention, the expert intervention group showed improvements in saliva secretion (p=0.009) and oral dryness (p=0.007). There was no difference in program satisfaction between groups (p=0.143), and both groups reported high satisfaction. As seniors may have difficulty in maintaining oral health behaviors, a certain amount of expert intervention may be needed. The results suggest that both a self-practice oral exercise program and an expert intervention program can be effective elderly patients.
