A Study on the Book Restitution - between Germany and Russia - (도서반환에 관한 연구 -독일과 러시아를 중심으로-)

  • During the ASEM(Asian-Europe Meeting) the president Kim Dae-jung have a conference with France president Jacques Chirac about the Waikyujanggak book restitution which the president Mitterand promised in 1993. The results of conference, equivalence of quality and quantity, have stirred up Korean public sentiment. The restitution of cultural asset is a very subtile problem in all of the country. The united Germany and from the Soviet Union dismantled Russia also have begun to discuss the library book restitution. These two countries had plundered library books each other during the World War II. To resolve the issue Germany and Russia are having several Round Table at governmental level and library expert level. However except Lituania and Georgia three are not many successful outcomes. This study based on the process of the book restitution the Germany and Russia being under way. Though our historical background is different from these two countries, we have a same problem.

  • 댐 저수지에서 지속적인 탁도를 유발하는 물질은 쉽게 침강되지 않는 $20{\mu}m$이하의 작은 부유물질(SS)이며, 가을 수직혼합 시기까지 침강되지 않은 부유물질은 다시 재부상하는 경우도 발생한다. 저수지내 탁수의 장기 체류는 수자원 이용과 하류하천의 수생태계에 다양한 문제를 야기하고 있어 일부 댐에서는 실시간 탁도 감시 장치를 설치하고 취수설비를 개선하는 등의 탁수저감 대책의 노력을 기울이고 있으나, 시설의 최적 운영을 지원할 수 있는 탁수 거동 및 탁도 예측에 관한 연구는 아직 부족한 실정이다. 특히, 탁도는 물 속에 존재하는 부유물질의 광학적 특성(light attenuation)을 나타내는 지표로써 SS와는 물리적인 물성이 달라 실시간 계측자료(탁도)와 모델의 모의 변수(SS)가 다른 문제점 때문에 모델링에 어려움이 있었다. 지금까지 탁도 모델링은 대부분 탁도와 SS의 상관관계를 이용하는 방법을 사용하였다. 그러나 이 방법은 탁도-SS 관계가 실측지점과 입자크기분포에 따라 달라지는 특성 때문에 변환과정에 예측결과의 불확실성이 내재한다는 지적을 받아왔다. 본 연구의 목적은 저수지로 유입한 탁수의 보다 과학적이고 정확한 탁도 예측을 위해 탁도를 유발하는 부유물질의 입자크기 분포와 공간적으로 변하는 탁도-SS의 상관관계를 고려할 수 있는 표준화된 탁도 모델링 방법을 개발하고, 실측자료를 사용하여 제시된 탁도 모델링 방법의 예측 성능을 평가하는데 있다. 부유물질의 이송-확산-침강 모델은 2차원 횡방향 평균 수리 모델과 연결(coupling)되어 수행되며, 저수지 수면을 통한 열 교환, 바람과 바닥 조도에 의한 난류혼합과 성층해석, 하천 유입수의 저수지내 밀도류 유동, 그리고 입자 크기별 부유물질의 독립침강을 해석한다. 부유입자의 크기분포와 공간적으로 서로 다른 탁도-SS 관계를 고려한 탁도 예측모델은 기존의 탁도를 종속변수로 사용한 예측 방법 또는 단일 입자크기를 사용한 모델보다 개선된 모의결과를 보여주었다. 본 연구에서 제시된 탁도 예측 알고리즘은 실시간 탁수감시와 예측 모델링, 그리고 댐 방류수 탁도 관리를 위한 선택취수 설비의 운영을 위한 의사결정지원시스템에 적용 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

Scalable and Robust Data Dissemination Scheme for Large-Scale Wireless Sensor Networks (대규모 무선 센서 네트워크를 위한 확장성과 강건성이 있는 데이터 전송 방안)

  • In wireless sensor networks, data dissemination is based on data-centric routing that well matches the publish/subscribe communication paradigm. The publish/subscribe paradigm requires decoupling properties: space, time, and synchronization decoupling. For large-scale applications, the three decoupling properties provide scalability and robust communication. However, existing data dissemination schemes for wireless sensor networks do not achieve full decoupling. Therefore, we propose a novel data dissemination scheme that fully accomplishes the three decoupling, called ARBIETER. ARBITER constructs an independent network structure as a logical software bus. Information interworking between publishers and subscribers is indirectly and asynchronously performed via the network structure. ARBITER also manages storage and mapping of queries and data on the structure because of supporting different time connection of publishers and subscribers. Our simulation proves ARBITER show better performance in terms of scalability, network robustness, data responsibility, mobility support, and energy efficiency.

The Characteristics of Radiation, Temperature and Wind Direction around King Sejong Station, Antarctica (남극 세종 기지 주변의 복사, 기온 및 풍향의 특징)

  • Due to the temporal and spatial variability of the warming at and near the Antarctic Peninsular, it is required to better understand local climate at the issued region. The purpose of the study are to characterize surface radiation, air temperature and wind direction and investigate their relations at the King Sejong Station near the Antarctic Peninsular during last three and half years. While the study site was a weak radiative energy sink (positive net radiation) with annual mean of 15-20 Wm-2, it played a role as a strong sink in summer (December to January) with mean of 85 Wm-2, a magnitude that was significantly larger than those at other surface covered with snow or ice in Antarctica. Monthly averaged air temperature ranged from -7.7-2.8oC and the variations of monthly averaged air temperature showed the distinct differences with year. Northwesterly, westerly and easterly were dominant and the variability of air temperature could be explained by the variability of the frequency of wind direction with cold easterly and warm northwesterly/northerly to some degree, which in turn influenced radiation budget through albedo in summer.

Automation of Fuel Filter Manufacturing Process Via IT Convergence (IT융합기반의 연료필터 제조공정 자동화)

  • In this paper, we have developed the gantry automation system via information technology (IT) to improve the productivity of fuel filter manufacturing process. The monitoring system of manufacturing process plays an important role in analyzing the defective products as well as improving the production yield rate. The experimental results of 3 months with 10000 samples validate that the error rate is decreased from 0.65 % to 0.45 %. Also, the defect of raw material is decreased via monitoring of material tools which can notify the time for replacement and accurate insertion of raw materials to the loader. The productivity is increased by reducing the process time from 94.7 sec to 78.8 sec per raw material through comparing the whole manufacturing courses : from inserting of raw material to outcome of product. The process time is decreased by 20.2 % by automation of inserting and outcome course. Moreover, safety of worker as well as reduction of transfer time are highly related with increase of productivity.

Decrease in Genetic Variation of Overwintering Populations of the Diamondback Moth during Seasonal Occurrence (배추좀나방의 계절적 발생과 월동집단의 유전적 분화 감소)

  • The diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella, overwinters in some protected areas in Korea. Using a sex pheromone trap, the adults were monitored since the occurrence of the overwintering populations. In Andong, P. xylostella exhibited four adult peaks in a year. Biological characters, such as cold tolerance, insecticide susceptibility, and developmental rate, were analyzed and showed a significant variation among different local overwintering populations. Population genetic variation was assessed with molecular markers, in which the initial high genetic variation among the overwintering populations decreased with the progress of seasons. These results suggests that there may be a significant migration of P. xylostella to decrease the genetic variation among the different local populations that are different in biological characters.

  • The properties of arithmetic are considered as essential to understand the principles of calculation and develop effective strategies for calculation in the elementary school level, thanks to agreement on early algebra. Therefore elementary students' misunderstanding of the properties of arithmetic might cause learning difficulties as well as misconcepts in their following learning processes. This study aims to provide elementary teachers a part of pedagogical content knowledge about the properties of arithmetic and to induce some didactical implications for teaching the properties of arithmetic in the elementary school level. To do this, elementary school mathematics textbooks since the period of the first curriculum were analyzed. These results from analysis show which properties of arithmetic have been taught, when they were taught, and how they were taught. Based on them, some didactical implications were suggested for desirable teaching of the properties of arithmetic.

  • Tritium is released into the environment as various form but HTO is most relevant to the incorporation of tritium into living organisms and to the formation of OBT. Tritiated compounds may be transported to humans via several tropic levels. Retention times of organically bound tritium in organisms are considerably longer than those of tritiated water, which has significant consequences on exposure dose estimation. It is rather difficult to predict the amount of OBT produced by the photosynthetic process of plants because it may be influenced by a multitude of environmental factors and plant parameters. Tritiated organic matters are classified as the exchangeable or nonexchangeable bound tritium according to the bound form. After short term HTO exposure in plants, the formation and uptake of OBT were evaluated.

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the mid-term changes of beach and dune morphology at Sohwang beach, Korea using by Total Station. Measurements executed 4 times during two year. Based on ArcInfo as point cloud obtained through precise measurement data by Total Station, alteration of beach and dune was analyzed at DEM, of which cell size is about 1m. Since these artificial constructions have influenced current systems of this region, the large-scale sand movements above mentioned have occurred around the jetty and the sea-wall. There occurred sedimentation in the north of the Jetty and erosion in the south of the Jetty, which is installed at the central part of object area. The direction of recent topographic development does not coincide with that of wind, and, rather, topographic changes occurred mainly at beaches and dunes due to the transformation of coastal water flow caused by artificial structure nearby. If precise measurement is conducted periodically, and long term monitoring is carried out by installing equipment measuring movement pattern of sediment around artificial structure, cause of topographic change around the object area could be discovered.

Study on Prolonging Peripheral Intravenous Catheter Indwell Time Based on Phlebitis Rate (정맥염 발생률에 근거한 말초 정맥관의 정규교환 시기 연장에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to re-assess the replacement time intervals of Peripheral Intravenous Catheters (PICs) by investigating phlebitis rates according to the indwelling times of PICs. Methods: The study was conducted on 340 patients in S hospital by an IV team. After PIC insertion, IV team members evaluated once a day. The PICs were replaced every 96 hours, and let them in situ when the patients wanted to, in the absence of any sign of complications, from 97 hours to 153 hours. Results: Total phlebitis rate was 19.6%. There were no significantly different factors associated with the occurrence of phlebitis. The incidence rates of phlebitis were 12.6% and 7.0% before and after 72 hours of PIC insertion, and recorded zero after 96 hours. Conclusion: It would be recommendable to maintain PIC in situ for longer than 72 hours if there is no sign of complication such as phlebitis in close monitoring of PIC insertion site.
