Study on the Recovery and Determination of Scandium from Tin Slag (주석슬러그에서 스칸듐원소의 정량 및 회수에 관한 연구)

  • A new spectrophotometric determination method of scandium in the tin slag solution has been investigated using methyl thymol blue as a colorimetric reagent. Scandium is recovered by the anion exchange resin, Amberlite IRA 400, using the mixture solution of ammonium sulfate and sulfuric acid and an eluent. The mole ratio of complex of scandium and MTB at pH 6 is 1 to 1 and the wave length of the maximum absorbance is 585 nm and the molar absorptivity at this wave length is $2.0 {\times} 10^4\;\iota{\cdot}mol^{-1}{\cdot}cm^{-1}$. When tin slag solution is loaded into anion exchange resin and eluted, ions in the solution except scandium ion are eluted rapidly and scandium is eluted lately. So scandium is recovered easily.

  • Distribution coefficients between cation exchange resin (Dowex 50W$\times$8) and $\alpha$-hydroxyisobutric acid ($\alpha$-HIBA) are measured in order to separate traces of Sm, Eu, Gd and Dy from nuclear material. Individual separations are performed by pH gradient technique with 0.40M $\alpha$-HIBA from 3.40 to 3.60 in cation exchange resin after a group separation. Each of separated elements is determined with a fluorometric method except Gd by colorimetry. The results are applied to analyze Sm, Eu, Gd and Dy in magnesium diuranate (yellow cake).

Retention Behavior of Lanthanide Complexes with $\alpha$ -hydroxyisobutyric Acid on Cation Exchanger (양이온 교환체에서 희토류원소와 $\alpha$-Hydroxyisobutyric Acid 착물들의 머무름 거동에 관한 연구)

  • Retention behavior of lanthanide-$\alpha$HiBA complexes was studied on the cation exchanger (LC-18 coated with $C_{20}H_{41}SO_4^-$). An equation predicting retention of lanthanides in isocratic or gradient elution with sodium ion and $\alpha$-HiBA concentration was derived from ion exchange equilibria of metal-ligand complex system, respectively. The relations between log k' and log [Na$^+$] /log [$\alpha$-HiBA) showed non-linearity in isocratic elution. In gradient elution a good linearity between log k' vs log R was obtained. The values of slopes (log k / log R) gave good agreements between calculation and experiment. Individual capacity factors ($k'_{Ln}^{3+}, k'_{LnL}^{2+}, k'{LnL2+}) and stability constant (${\beta}_1$, ${\beta}_2$, ${\beta}_3$) of lanthanide-$\alpha$HiBA complexes were calculated by the non-linear least square fittings using the retention equation. The correlation coefficients of lanthanides were shown better than 0.9996 between experiment and calculation.

Characteristics of Heat Stable Salts Treatment Using Anion Exchange Resins in CO2 Absorption Process (음이온교환수지를 이용한 CO2 흡수 공정시 발생하는 열안정성염 처리 특성)

  • In this study, we studied the characteristics of ion exchange for treatment of HSS (heat stable salts) which cause performance reduction in CO2 gas capture amine solution using anion exchange resins. The optimum HSS removal efficiency, 96.1% was obtained when using strong base anion exchange resin SAR10 at dosage 0.05 g/mL, 316 K, pH 12 and the best resin regeneration efficiency, 78.8% was obtained using NaOH solution of 3 M at 316 K. The adsorption data were described well by the Freundlich model and the sorption intensity(n) was 2.0951 lying within the range of favorable adsorption. The adsorption selectivity coefficients were increased by increasing valences and size of ion and desorption selectivity coefficients showed a contradictory tendency to adsorption selectivity coefficients. By continuous HSS removal experiments, 13.3 BV of HSS contaminated solution was effectively treated and the optimum NaOH solution consumption was 5.2 BV to regenerate resins.

  • This paper describes the algorithm of computing thermal contact conductance between unmatched grid interfaces for finite element thermal analysis. Because grid interfaces should be coincident with adjacent meshes for finite element method, large amount of man hours and huge computations are required to match interfaces between many numbers of complex subdomains. A novel method that distributes feasibly the conductances to interface nodes is proposed. The aims of the method are described, and details of the nodal conductance distribution algorithm with less dependency on meshes are represented. The algorithm can be applied both the flat and curved interfaces in 3 dimensional space, and proposed method can combined with many finite element application including thermal analysis.

Soil-Water Partition Coefficients for Cadmium in Some Korean Soils (우리나라 일부 토양에 대한 카드뮴의 토양-물 분배계수)

  • Distribution coefficient ($K_d$) is an universal parameter estimating cadmium partition for a soil-water-crop system in agricultural lands. This study was performed to find some factors affecting soil-water partition coefficients for cadmium in some Korean soils. The distribution coefficients ($K_d$) of cadmium for the 15 series of agricultural soils were measured at quasi-steady state in the pH ranges from 2 to 11. The adsorption data of the selected soils showed a linear relationship between log $K_d$ and pH, which was well agreed with theoretically expected results ; $log\;K_d=0.6339pH+0.5532(r^2=0.70^{**})$. Normalization of the partition coefficients were performed in a range of pH 3.5 ~ 8.5 to minimize adverse effects of Al dissolution, cationic competition, and organic matter dissolution. The $K_d$-om, partition coefficients normalized for organic matter, improved this linearity to the pH of soils. The values of $K_d$-om measured from the field samples were significantly correlated with those of $K_d$ predicted from the sorption-edge experimental data ($r^2=0.68^{**}$).

Model for predicting the $^{137}C_s$ contamination of an agricultural plant following a soil deposition (토양침적에 의한 $^{137}C_s$ 농작물 오염평가 모델)

  • A dynamic compartment model is presented to predict the contamination level of agricultural plant by $^{137}C_s$ as a result of a soil deposition. The model considered the processes of a percolation, soil mixing by a plowing before transplanting, plant uptake, leaching to a deep soil, and fixation to a clay mineral. The effects of the soil properties (pH, clay mineral, organic matter content, and exchangeable K), which are spatially varied, on a plant uptake and the leaching rates of $^{137}C_s$ in a root zone soil were modeled by the Absalom model. To test the validity of the model, the $^{137}C_s$ aggregated transfer factors(TFa) for rice plants were compared with those observed from some simulated $^{137}C_s$ soil deposition experiments, which were carried out with respect to rice plants cultivated in seventeen paddy soils of different properties for two consecutive years. Observed $^{137}C_s$ TFa values of the rice plants did not show an evident trend for the pH and clay content of the soil properties, while they increased with an increasing organic matter content or a decreasing exchangeable K concentration. Predicted $^{137}C_s$ TFa values of the rice plants were found to be comparable with those observed.

초순수 제조공정 현황

  • 경제발전과 더불어 산업의 많은 분야에서 순수 및 초순순의 사용이 증가하고 있으나, 환경오염에 의한 원수의 오염에 따라 순수 및 초순순제조의 장치비와 처리비용의 증가가 야기되고 있다. 현재 국내에는 화력, 원자력발전소를 비롯하여 열병합발전소, 석유화학공장, 제약회사, 전기 전자부품회사, 반도체회사 및 철강회사 등 많은 분야에서 순수 및 초순수 제조장치의 구성과 성능이 많은 차이를 나타내고 있다. 국내의 초순수 제조장치는 90% 이상이 이온교환수지를 사용하는 이온교환법과 UF, R/O System과 같은 Membrane을 사용하는 Membrane System을 병행하여 적용하고 있다. 국내 초순수처리 Plant에서는 통상 전처리 System과 1차 순수제조 System 및 초순수 System이 상호 연결되어 Plant가 구성 운영되고 있다. 전처리 System에는 응집침전, 여과 흡착, 살균 등이 적용되고 있으며 여과 System에 Membrane을 적용할 수 있으나 국내에서는 특별한 경우를 제외하고 대부분 전처리 여과 System에 Media Filter를 사용한다. 전처리 System도 순수처리 장치의 전처리로는 없어서는 안되는 System이지만 여기에는 전처리 System을 제외하고 국내에서 적용하고 있는 초순수처리 System의 공정현황과 각 System별 특징을 설명하고 있다. 초순순 System에는 요구 수질에 따라 다소 차이가 있지만 반도체 공업에서 사용되는 초순수 System이 이중 최고의 Grade로 반도체공업에서 적용되고 있는 System을 기준하였다. 특히 Membrane을 적용한 초순수제조 System이 증가하고 있어 R/O, ED, EDR, CDI, (EDI)와 같은 Membrane System의 특성과 원리를 검토하였다.대적으로 높은 산소확산계수와 물에 대해서는 낮은 투과도를 가져야 한다. 높은 산소확산계수는 반응을 빠르게 하는 잇점이 있으며 물에 대한 낮은 투과도는 센서내의 전해질 물질을 유지보호하는 역할을 한다. 분리막이 산소전극에 이용될 경우 높은 산소 확산계수 이외에도 적절한 기계적 강도, 열적 안정성 등이 요구된다. 몰입이 가능하여 임계치가 저하된 것으로 여겨진다. 또한 광학적 이득의 존재는 이 구조에 의한 극단파장 반도체 레이저다이오드의 실현 가능성을 나타내는 것이다.548 mL에 비해 통계학적으로 의의 있게 적었다(p<0.05). 결론: 관상동맥우회로 조성수술에서 전방온혈심정지액을 사용할 때 희석되지 많은 고농도 포타슘은 fliud overload와 수혈을 피하고 delivery kit를 사용하지 않음으로써 효과적이고 만족할 만한 심근보호 효과를 보였다.를 보였다.4주까지에서는 비교적 폐포는 정상적 구조를 유지하면서 부분적으로 소폐동맥 중막의 비후와 간질에 호산구 침윤의 소견이 특징적으로 관찰되었다. 결론: 분리 폐 관류는 정맥주입 방법에 비해 고농도의 cisplatin 투여로 인한 다른 장기에서의 농도 증가 없이 폐 조직에 약 50배 정도의 고농도 cisplatin을 투여할 수 있었으며, 또한 분리 폐 관류 시 cisplatin에 의한 직접적 폐 독성은 발견되지 않았다이 낮았으나 통계학적 의의는 없었다[10.0%(4/40) : 8.2%(20/244), p>0.05]. 결론: 비디오흉강경술에서 재발을 낮추기 위해 수술시 폐야 전체를 관찰하여 존재하는 폐기포를 놓치지 않는 것이 중요하며, 폐기포를 확인하지 못한 경우와 이차성 자연기흉에 대해서는 흉막유착술에 더 세심한 주의가 필요하다는 것을 확인하였다. 비디오흉강경수술은 통증이 적고, 입원기간이 짧고, 사회

  • In this paper, we proposed an efficient blind watermarking algorithm using wavelet transform. The proposed algorithm inserts watermark into the high frequency subbands that were transformed by 1-level wavelet transform of original image. Watermark insertion is achieved by exchanging each the corresponding coefficients in the HL, LH, HH subbands according to be inserted watermark value. And watermark is extracted by the relation of wavelet coefficients without original image. Experimental results demonstrate that watermarked image has a good quality not to be able to be perceptible and is robust various attacks such as JEPG lossy compression, clipping and sharpening.

  • In the present study, the characteristics on the internal flow and heat transfer of the dimple-type plate heat exchanger were numerically investigated. For the numerical analysis, the conjugate heat transfer analysis between hot fluid-separating plate-cold fluid was performed using the periodic boundary condition at the center area of the plate and appropriate inlet and outlet conditions for the two streams. The numerical results were validated by the comparison with the experimental data. From these results, the correlations of the Colburn j-factor for the heat transfer and the Fanning f-factor for the flow friction were obtained. The present results could be applicable for the optimal design of dimple-type plate heat exchanger.
