  • As the application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) to the civil sector has become practical, and mandatory for road projects, the standardization, development of systems, etc. for the application and operation of BIM are required. In particular, it is important to develop BIM data standards for producing, sharing and managing the lifecycle data of civil facilities because they are commonly national public facilities. The BIM data standards have been developed by utilizing or extending IFC (Industry Foundation Classes), which is an international standard, but schema extensions of river facilities has not been developed thus far. This study proposes an approach to an IFC extension for river facilities using the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) as a fundamental study for IFC-based schema extension in the river field. For this purpose, the research was carried out as follows. First, the IFC extension development method was selected to represent the river facilities by analyzing the existing IFC structure and previous research cases for the IFC extension. Second, extended elements of the river facilities were identified through an analysis of the WBS and classified according to the high-level structure of the IFC schema. Third, the classified elements were arranged based on the IFC hierarchy and the IFC schema extension for river facilities was established. Based on the suggested extension method of IFC schema, this study developed the schema by defining the element components and parts of river facilities, such as distribution flow elements and deriving their detailed types and properties.

  • The purpose of this study was to design the coaching strategies for the problem based learning and examine 'the problem situation' to analyze the process of learning as it applies to the students' perception on problem based learning. The steps of this model were as follows: 1) presentation of the problem situation 2) confrontation of the problem 3) know/ need to know 4) definition of the problem statement 5) collection and sharing of information 6)generation of possible solutions 7) assessment of the best fit of solutions 8) presentation of the solution. Problem-based learning steps and coaching strategies were designed and implemented to 2nd grade high school students for the environment teaching unit. The results demonstrated that group discussion in the know/need to know step was most helpful for students to review what they know and generate solutions. At first students tend to state problems widely but through repeated group discussions they gradually clarified the problems. In the students' personal reflection notes and perception questionnaire of problem-based learning, many students especially showed difficulties in defining the problem statement. In contrast they participated actively in the learning process and express their opinions enthusiastically. Therefore, this study suggests that developing problem situation based on real context is of great importance for implementing a problem based teaming model continuously.

  • Sip and Byul-Gok (New tunes), as folks musics, are musical concepts opposite to that of the Court musics. They have the tunes. typical and universal. and Byul-Gok for singing. has the words in which the properties of melodies in the structures of compositions are reflected harmoniously. The Song. or Shiga. in Koryo-Sa, History of Koryo. Acjee and Acjanggasa. named ByulGok. is divided into two types. according to the characteries of the forms.: Koryo Sokyo. or the folk songs in Koryo. such as Chengsanbylulgok. and Segyoungbyulgok. and Kyonggichega, or nobility songs in Koryo and Chosen Dynasty. such as Hallimbyulgok. Kwandongbyulgok. and Jucgyebyulgok. In addition. Gasa. or the nobility and folk songs in Chosen Dynasty. such as K wandongbyulgok. also has the title. Byul-Gok. Even though these types of the songs have the same tittle. Byul-Gok, it is not appropriate that Byul-Gok is used as a term described as a branch of the literature: in light of music. they have the properties in common in the sense that they are opposite to the Court music. but. in light of literature. their forms are very different from one another. Therefore, it is appropriate that they are classified according to the characteristics of the forms, winters, the ideology of people who enjoy them, and periods: Sokyo, Kyonggichega, and Gasa. Byul-gok means not only the folks songs opposite to the court musics, but also the songs by setting words to the melodies present. Orignal tunes and their new tunes are not different musical compositions, but the same ones with the melodies which Korean acquired transcendentally. It is general tendency, at those times, that after compositions were made, words are set to them. Such words represent the politic thought in which courtesy and music are considered important. and the spirit with which the ruler and the people enjoy together.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the development of scientific conceptual understanding through a process-centered assessment that visualizes the process of scientific argumentation. In this study, 353 high school students and five teachers participated in the scientific argumentation. As a result of analyzing students' utterances on the elements of argumentation, scientific concepts in intragroup were embodied through query and clarification of meaning, and organized through agreement and rebuttal. In intergroup argumentation, scientific concepts were elaborated through query, clarification of meaning, and change of claim. Teachers were able to understand the process of argumentation through small-group activity sheets where the process was visualized, thereby providing feedback and improving the class. Based on the results, the scientific argumentation of visualizing the process was found not only to allow students to perform self-assessment and peer-assessment but also to help teachers understand the argumentation process. The findings of this study guide process-centered assessment in the science curriculum and are expected to contribute to the promotion of scientific argumentation in classrooms.

  • This study was to look into the press policy and the related activities performed by North Korea in the South during the Korean War and to evaluate them. In order to understand the concrete contents of the activities and their characteristics, the two representative newspapers published in the South by North Korea at that times - the Chosuninmin Bo and the Haebang Ilbo - were reviewed and analyzed. North Korea operated broadcasting and started newspapers just after the possession of Seoul. and also performed various positive press activities - such as the distribution of the newspapers and periodicals of North Korea and U.S.S.R., putting the movies on the screen, and founding the weekly, etc. But the target of all the media were the same. It aimed to support Kim Il-Sung's scheme which intended to carry out the war successfully and to make the South under occupation Communism System by introducing the Northern law and system. The two newspapers, as agent of power, made only such a role to agitate and exaggerate the false things with unrealistic optimism. They intended to ideologically mobilize the South people and to affect on their perspectives and acts. However the media including the two newspapers being operated in the South during the war had not got the faith or the good response from the South people as an audience. Most of South Koreans were tired with their endless and one-sided propaganda, agitation and ideological enlightenment. It could therefore be evaluated that the press activities by North Korea in the South during the Korean War resulted with many limitations in ideologically organizing and mobilizing the South Koreans.
