Analysis of flood reduction on dorim stream according to installation urban drainage system using SWMM model (SWMM모형을 이용한 도림천지역 내수배제시설 설치에 따른 침수저감 분석)

  • 급격한 도시화 현상으로 많은 인구가 밀집되고 토지를 집약적으로 이용을 하며 시멘트 콘크리트, 블록 등 도로포장으로 인해 불투수층이 증가하여, 폭우와 홍수로 인한 인명과 재산 및 교통체증 등과 같은 다양한 피해를 야기할 수 있다. 침수피해를 발생시키는 인자들은 지표면의 침수심, 침수면적 및 지속시간 등이 있으며, 이러한 인자들을 이용하여 침수에 관한 다양한 연구들이 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서 연구할 지역은 도림천 지역 대림 1동, 대림 2동, 대림 3동, 신대방동의 일부분 지역을 대상으로, 침수가 발생한 2010년 강우를 활용하여 도림천 지역의 도시침수를 분석을 하였다. 침수가 일어난 원인으로는 관의 허용용량 초과로 인해 침수가 되었던 것으로 보이고 각 지선관거가 간선관거로 합류하는 과정에서 과부하로 인해 주요 간선관거에서 월류가 발생한것으로 판단된다. 이와 같이 내수배제시설 용량의 초과로 인한 침수가 발생하였을 경우 막대한 피해가 발생하게 되고 이를 저감하기 위해서는 침수심 및 침수면적 등 피해정도를 미리 예측하여 관리 할 수 있는 방안에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구는 도림천의 우수관망을 이용하여 침수해석모형인 SWMM을 활용하여 문제점들을 파악하였으며, 침수방어능력을 향상 시킬 수 있는 방안을 연구하고자 한다.

Traffic Congestion Management on Urban Roads using Vehicular Ad-hoc Network-based V2V and V2I Communications (차량 애드혹 네트워크 기반 V2V와 V2I 통신을 사용한 시내 도로에서의 교통 체증 관리)

  • The nodes constituting the vehicle ad hoc network (VANET) are vehicles moving along the road and road side units (RSUs) installed around the road. The vehicle ad hoc network is used to collect the status, speed, and location information of vehicles driving on the road, and to communicate with vehicles, vehicles, and RSUs. Today, as the number of vehicles continues to increase, urban roads are suffering from traffic jams, which cause various problems such as time, fuel, and the environment. In this paper, we propose a method to solve traffic congestion problems on urban roads and demonstrate that the method can be applied to solve traffic congestion problems through performance evaluation using two typical protocols of vehicle ad hoc networks, AODV and GPSR. The performance evaluation used ns-2 simulator, and the average number of traffic jams and the waiting time due to the average traffic congestion were measured. Through this, we demonstrate that the vehicle ad hoc-based traffic congestion management technique proposed in this paper can be applied to urban roads in smart cities.

Attention-LSTM based Lane Change Possibility Decision Algorithm for Urban Autonomous Driving (도심 자율주행을 위한 어텐션-장단기 기억 신경망 기반 차선 변경 가능성 판단 알고리즘 개발)

  • Lane change in urban environments is a challenge for both human-driving and automated driving due to their complexity and non-linearity. With the recent development of deep-learning, the use of the RNN network, which uses time series data, has become the mainstream in this field. Many researches using RNN show high accuracy in highway environments, but still do not for urban environments where the surrounding situation is complex and rapidly changing. Therefore, this paper proposes a lane change possibility decision network by adopting Attention layer, which is an SOTA in the field of seq2seq. By weighting each time step within a given time horizon, the context of the road situation is more human-like. A total 7D vectors of x, y distances and longitudinal relative speed of side front and rear vehicles, and longitudinal speed of ego vehicle were used as input. A total 5,614 expert data of 4,098 yield cases and 1,516 non-yield cases were used for training, and the performance of this network was tested through 1,817 data. Our network achieves 99.641% of test accuracy, which is about 4% higher than a network using only LSTM in an urban environment. Furthermore, it shows robust behavior to false-positive or true-negative objects.

  • 동절기, 야간 등 도로에서 결빙으로 인한 연쇄 추돌 사고는 교통 체증 및 2차 사고의 위험으로 이어진다. 도로 중 결빙 발생 다발 지역인 지방도로, 터널 출입구, 교량 구간, 산기슭 도로, 그늘진 곡선 도로를 대상으로 C-ITS 관점 안전운전 결빙 주의보 애플리케이션을 제공하여 결빙으로 발생하는 사고를 미리 예방하고자 한다. 노면/기상 상태를 아두이노, 기상 api로 측정, 차량 운전자용 앱(GIS/맵 기반) 구현을 통해 앱 사용 운전자 간 양방향 V2V, 운전자와 아두이노 센서 간 V2I 통신으로 결빙으로부터 운전자를 보호함에 있다.

Parcel Locker Locations and Dynamic Vehicle Routing Problem with Traffic Congestion (교통 체증을 고려한 물품 보관함 위치 및 동적 차량 경로 문제)

  • Due to the complexity of urban area, the city vehicle routing problem has been a difficult problem. The problem has involved factors such as parking availability, road conditions, and traffic congestion, all of which increase transportation costs and delivery times. To resolve this problem, one effective solution can be the use of parcel lockers located near customer sites, where products are stored for customers to pick up. When a vehicle delivers products to a designated parcel locker, customers in the vicinity must pick up their products from that locker. Recently, identifying optimal locations for these parcel lockers has become an important research issue. This paper addresses the parcel locker location problem within the context of urban traffic congestion. By considering dynamic environmental factors, we propose a Markov decision process model to tackle the city vehicle routing problem. To ensure more real situations, we have used optimal paths for distances between two nodes. Numerical results demonstrate the viability of our model and solution strategy.

Abrasion-Resistant Road Markings for Improved Durability Lane to Wear Simulators Test (차선재료의 내구성 향상을 위한 내마모성 시험 적용 연구)

  • There is the uncertain period of the construction in case of the products meeting the quality standard of KS M 6080, the quality is degraded because of the abrasive loss of the paint caused by vehicle tires as the traffic amount increases and of the loss and detachment of the glass beads providing the retroreflective function. The abrupt degradation of visibility causes the high frequency of traffic accidents at night and increases the traffic accident rate. Additional supplementary construction induces the direct material and construction costs. As the more cost induction effect than the direct cost, the traffic jam caused by the additional construction increases the indirect social costs such as time cost and vehicle cost. Hence, the study is concerned with performing the abrasion resistance test based on the EN 1436 standard to check and improve the quality of various road marking materials resulting in improving the durability of road marking materials. However, even though the difference in the durability lifetime of resins(binders) is bibliographically or theoretically clear, there was no difference in the durability lifetime (retroreflectivity aspect) of the road marking paint using these binders. The reason is that the bonding of beads was very insufficient or that the cross density caused by crack or freshness was low. Moreover, the measured wet retroreflectivity was distributed as the Rw3 or higher class in average on the basis of EN 1436 but was very insufficient on the basis of the minimum wet threshold retroreflectivity with 100mcd/($m^2{\cdot}lx$) managed overseas.

  • As the current ground transportation system becomes saturated, there is a need to develop a roadable personal air vehicle (PAV). Therefore, researches for PAV development and operation system development are being actively carried out in various countries around the world. PAV, the next generation transportation system, is a new concept of personal transportation that combines ground transportation, air traffic, and IT industry. Also, the development of PAV can solve the saturation of traffic congestion and shorten the travel time dramatically. In this study, we analyzed the certification criteria of FAR Part 23, which is going to be revised, and analyzed the patents and folding mechanism of Terrafugia Transition and Aeromobil 3.0, which are the most advanced of roadable PAV. Also, we used $OpenVSP^{(R)}$ for the reverse configuration design of the existing Terafugia transition and Aeromobile 3.0. Aerodynamic analyses were performed for the reverse configuration design using the $XFR5^{(R)}$ program.

Analysis of Open Toll Segments in Urban Freeways (개방식고속도로 통행특성과 영업체계 전환분석)

  • Two variations of toll roads exist: mainline toll plazas and entry/exit tolls. On a mainline toll system(open toll scheme), all vehicles stop at various locations along the highway to pay a toll. While this may save money from the lack of need to construct tolls at every exit, it can cause lots of traffic congestion, and drivers could evade tolls by going around them. With entry/exit tolls, vehicles collect a ticket when entering the highway, which displays the fares it will pay when it exits, increasing in cost for distance travelled. Upon exit, the driver will pay the amount listed for the given exit. The pressures on the Seoul ring roadway network have been changing over time. In the past, the emphasis was on mobility and maintenance of the road network to provide an efficient transportation network, but recently, road use has outstripped the network's ability to extend and expand the road network and hence the policy emphasis has moved towards reducing free riders rather than mitigating its effects. In addition to this pressure is an incidental pressure, which argues that provision of free ride segments generates further traffic in isolation of other factors. This paper is examining policies to reduce the burden of traffic congestion in Seoul ring roadway which is used open toll scheme for decades. One key mechanism to achieve this policy aim is automatic charging mechanism on freeway, but if a nation-wide electronic toll collection is to be implemented successfully, there are a number of prerequisites which must be place.

Using the Gyeong-in Ara Waterway to Revitalize Coastal Shipping (연안해운 활성화 측면에서의 경인아라뱃길 활용 방안)

  • Many countries are developing transportation technologies aimed at reducing environmental pollution and the environmental burden. For example, environmentally friendly transportation routes and methods are being used to improve inland waterways in Europe. Against this backdrop, a case study was conducted on special cargo (weight cargo, earth and sand, etc.) on Korea's Gyeong-In Ara Waterway, an inland waterway connecting the Han River and the West Sea, serving a distribution function. The results of the analysis showed that coastal shipping could be promoted using the waterway, including a positive synergy among environmental, economic, and social aspects. That is, by shifting from overland transportation to marine transportation, it is possible to reduce environmental pollution, ease traffic congestion, decrease traffic accidents, and shorten the licensing period for the weight cargo demand of the northern area of the Han River. In this respect, the Gyeong-in Ara Waterway could become an environmentally friendly transportation route, promoting coastal shipping in Korea. However, for this to occur, support systems such as subsidies for marine transportation and using the inland waterway are required, as happens in the EU. Furthermore, existing policies to promote coastal shipping should be improved and applied more broadly.

Research on The Crash Location and Speed Distribution of Low Altitude Fixed-Wing Aircraft (저고도 운용 고정익 항공기의 고장 시 추락지점 및 속도 분포 연구)

  • In order to solve the problem of urban traffic congestion, Urban Air Mobility (UAM) concept using Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft has been gaining popularity, and many domestic and international studies are underway. However, since these aircraft inevitably fly over densely populated areas, it is essential to ensure safety, which starts with accurately analyzing the crash risk. In this paper, the locations and impact speeds of crash are computed using six degree-of-freedom simulations of an eVTOL aircraft in a fixed-wing mode. System malfunction was modeled by a sudden loss of thrust with control surfaces being stuck during cruise. Because most of these eVTOL aircraft are still under development, a methodology of constructing a six degree-of-freedom dynamics model from generic specification is also developed. The results show that the crash locations are highly concentrated right under the aircraft within a square that has an edge length similar to the cruise altitude. Speed distribution is more complicated because almost identical crash locations can be achieved by two very different paths resulting in a large variation in the speeds.
