Implementation of a walking-aid light with machine vision-based pedestrian signal detection (머신비전 기반 보행신호등 검출 기능을 갖는 보행등 구현)

  • In this study, we propose a machine vision-based pedestrian signal detection algorithm that operates efficiently even in computing resource-constrained environments. This algorithm demonstrates high efficiency within limited resources and is designed to minimize the impact of ambient lighting by sequentially applying HSV color space-based image processing, binarization, morphological operations, labeling, and other steps to address issues such as light glare. Particularly, this algorithm is structured in a relatively simple form to ensure smooth operation within embedded system environments, considering the limitations of computing resources. Consequently, it possesses a structure that operates reliably even in environments with low computing resources. Moreover, the proposed pedestrian signal system not only includes pedestrian signal detection capabilities but also incorporates IoT functionality, allowing wireless integration with a web server. This integration enables users to conveniently monitor and control the status of the signal system through the web server. Additionally, successful implementation has been achieved for effectively controlling 50W LED pedestrian signals. This proposed system aims to provide a rapid and efficient pedestrian signal detection and control system within resource-constrained environments, contemplating its potential applicability in real-world road scenarios. Anticipated contributions include fostering the establishment of safer and more intelligent traffic systems.

Development of smart car intelligent wheel hub bearing embedded system using predictive diagnosis algorithm

  • If there is a defect in the wheel bearing, which is a major part of the car, it can cause problems such as traffic accidents. In order to solve this problem, big data is collected and monitoring is conducted to provide early information on the presence or absence of wheel bearing failure and type of failure through predictive diagnosis and management technology. System development is needed. In this paper, to implement such an intelligent wheel hub bearing maintenance system, we develop an embedded system equipped with sensors for monitoring reliability and soundness and algorithms for predictive diagnosis. The algorithm used acquires vibration signals from acceleration sensors installed in wheel bearings and can predict and diagnose failures through big data technology through signal processing techniques, fault frequency analysis, and health characteristic parameter definition. The implemented algorithm applies a stable signal extraction algorithm that can minimize vibration frequency components and maximize vibration components occurring in wheel bearings. In noise removal using a filter, an artificial intelligence-based soundness extraction algorithm is applied, and FFT is applied. The fault frequency was analyzed and the fault was diagnosed by extracting fault characteristic factors. The performance target of this system was over 12,800 ODR, and the target was met through test results.

  • Since many resources are put into the work of changing the railway operation within limited time, it is important to have a specific work plan and safety management. For this reason, the work schedule is shared in advance, and parallel work is being carried out simultaneously by rail system, such as tracks, trolly wires, and signals. However, due to the nature of the transfer work, the work is carried out at night when the railway operation is finished, and many resources are put into the limited area of the operating line, so the risk of safety accidents and failure to change the operating line is recognized as high. Nevertheless, there is still not enough research done in korea regarding the operation line change construction. Therefore, this study is conducted a survey on the track exchange work of railroad for working people, and analyzed the results of the survey. Finally, a standard work process was suggested to reduce the risk of track exchange work.

  • The AVC System which has operated in Highways has two-piezo sensors. In this system the piezo sensors are installed on parally each other this configuration has a defect about diversion driving and sensor damage. In this reserch, 3-Sensor AVC algorithm has been proposed which is supported enhance accuracy of the vehicle classification rate compare with usual 2-Sensor systems. This algorithm is allowed to calculate wheel tread, wheel width. The third inclinded piezo sensor can detec twheel tread, wheel width using signal processing. 3-Sensor AVC has been installed in real highway and the outcome performance has been proof.

  • The wireless low-floored tram is an innovative transportation system which is environment-friendly and highly energy-efficient. In addition, the system has various advantages such as low construction cost, improvement of urban landscape, revitalization of surrounding commercial area, elevated convenience for passengers, etc. Therefore, more than ten local governments have proposed tram construction projects in Korea. Accordingly, many research and development projects are ongoing funded by government including the developments of tram vehicle, tram trackway, signal system, etc. The embedded rail system are commonly used in order to provide leveled roadway surface in urban area. It is effective to reduce the noise and vibration, caused at the interface between the wheel and track, to minimize the construction period, and to lower the maintenance cost. This paper investigated the design and construction processes for tram trackway and figured out the constructability for the test track with embedded rail system for the first time in Korea. The performance to reduce the noise and vibration were quantitatively measured in the test track with embedded rail system. In addition, the results were compared to the ones for track with conventional rail system.

  • 비접촉식 온도센서는 물체에서 방출하는 적외선 등의 복사신호를 열에너지로 전환하고 이를 다시 전기신호로 2차 에너지 변환하여 온도를 감지하는 센서로 인체 검지를 응용한 다양한 상품 및 교통, 방재, 빌딩 시스템 등의 분야에 널리 응용되고 있다. 비접촉식 적외선 센서는 열에너지를 전기에너지로 변환하는 방법에 따라 양자형과 열형으로 구분되며, 이중 양자형은 광전도나 광기전력 효과 등을 이용하여 감도 및 응답성이 우수하다는 장점을 지니고 있지만, 소자부를 80K 이하 온도로 유지시키는 냉각을 필요로 하므로 대형 제작이 불가피하고 그 용도가 제한적이다. 열형은 냉각이 필요 없고 소형으로 제작가능한 장점을 지니고 있어 써모 파일이나 초전체를 이용한 번용 센서가 보급되고 있다. 그러나 써모파일의 경우 출력되는 전기 신호가 미약하여 감도 및 응답성을 향상하기 위해 구조가 복잡하고, 특히 모터초퍼나 저항을 전압으로 변환시키는 전력기 등이 필요로 하는 단점을 지니고 있다. 따라서 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위해 열전재료 박막을 이용한 적외선 센서를 개발하려는 노력이 진행중에 있다. 열전박막을 이용한 적외선 센서는 열전재료의 Seebeck 현상을 이용하여 열에너지에서 전기에너지의 변환이 자가발전으로 이루어져 offset과 외부 바이어스를 필요로 하지 않는다. 또한 작은 온도 변화에도 그 감도와 응답성이 높고, 출력신호가 커서 증폭기 등이 불필요한 장점을 지니고 있다. 특히 초전형 센서가 상온에서도 기판에 대한 열 확산을 제어해야 하는 문제점을 갖는 반면, 열전박막형 적외선 센서는 고온에서도 안정된 출력 신호를 얻을 수 있어 그 활용 온도 범위가 크게 확대될 것으로 기대된다. 본 실험에서는 우수한 열전특성을 갖는 (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 박막을 얻기 위해 열팽창계수가 작고 알칼리 원소가 0.3% 이하로 포함되어 있는 corning glass(# 7059)를 기판으로 사용하였다. 또한 최적의 열전특성을 나타내는 조성을 실험적으로 구하기 위해 (Bi0.2Sbx)2Te3 조성의 합금 타? 위에 Bi2Te3 및 Sb2Te3 chip을 올려놓고 그 면적을 변화시켜 다양한 조성의 열전박막을 증착하였다. 열전박막의 증착시 산화와 오염에 의한 열전특성 변화를 최소화하기 위해 초기진공도를 1$\times$10-6 Torr로 하였으며, Ar 가스를 흘려주어 2$\times$102 Torr 의 증착진공도를 유지하였다. 열전박막을 증착하기 전에 기판을 10분간 200W의 출력으로 RF 처리하였으며, 30$0^{\circ}C$에서 33 /sec의 속도로 (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 박막을 증착하였다. 이와 같이 제조된 (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 박막의 미세구조를 SEM으로 관찰하고 EDS로 조성을 분석하였으며, XRD를 이용하여 결정성을 관찰하였다. 또한 (Bi1-xSbx)2Te3 박막의 Seebeeck 계수 및 전기비저항을 측정하고 증착된 박막조성, 결정상, 미세구조와 열전특성간의 상관관계를 고찰하였다.

A study on the wire reduction design and effect analysis for the train vehicle line (철도차량 배선절감 방안 및 효과분석에 관한 연구)

  • The railway is a public transportation system that provides large-scale passenger transportation and service, whose reliability and safety is the top priority. The wiring of railway vehicles is classified into train control lines (train lines) and communication lines. The train lines are used for input / output signals related to vehicle driving and safety functions, and the communication lines are used for the input / output signals for passenger services such as broadcasting. In order to measure the reliability of railway vehicles, a train line is applied to the input / output interface of the control signals between the electric control devices in the vehicle, and there are many electromechanical devices such as relays and contactors for the control logic. In fact, since the vehicle control circuit is composed of several thousand contacts, it is difficult to check for errors such as contact failure, and it is impossible to check the real-time status, so a lot of manpower and time is required for regular maintenance. Therefore, we analyze the current state of the train line design of the electric equipment used for driving and services in domestic railway cars and propose three wiring reduction methods to improve it. Based on the analysis of domestic electric vehicles, it was confirmed that the wiring reduction effect is 35% or more.

Development of Tenderness Measurement System of Beef Carcass Using Ultrasound (초음파를 이용한 한우도체 연도 측정 시스템 개발)

  • 본 연구는 초음파를 이용하여 한우도체의 연도를 비파괴적이며 객관적으로 측정할 수 있는 시스템을 개발하기 위해서 수행되었다. 한우도체 연도 측정 시스템은 크게 초음파 측정장치, 자동 탐촉자 수직이동장치, 데이터 획득 및 분석장치로 구성되었는데 초음파 측정장치는 초음파 pulser/receiver 및 탐촉자, 자동 탐촉자 이동장치는 상하운동부, 구동부, 제어부, 데이터 획득 및 분석장치는 digitizer, Labview 5.1을 사용하여 구성되었다. 통합된 시스템을 이용하여 획득된 도체의 초음파 신호를 분석하기 위해 1.0~1.1 MHz의 bandpass filtering을 거쳐 hilbert 변환을 이용, envelope를 구할 수 있었으며 탐촉자와 도체의 최적 접촉 위치를 결정하기 위하여 3단계로 나누어 신호분석을 실시하였다. 시료의 개수는 40개였으며 획득된 envelope를 FFT 변환 후 PLS, PCR 분석을 수행한 결과 7단계의 PCR 분석에서 $R^2$= 0.6474의 유의성 있는 결과를 나타내었으므로 최적 접촉 위치로 결정하였다. 최적 접촉 위치를 통해 시료 80개의 추가 실험을 실시한 결과 PCR 분석에서 $R^2$= 0.4304의 결과를 나타내었으며 이를 이용, 도체의 연도를 측정하는 프로그램을 개발하고 최종 통합 시스템을 구축하였다. 본 한우도체 연도 측정 시스템의 개발을 통해 한우도체의 전단력을 예측하여 연도를 객관적으로 판정 가능할 것으로 생각되며 또한 사이즈의 확대로 도축장에 설치하는 설비로서 가능할 것이라 사료된다. 그러나 추후 좀 더 세밀한 측정과 결과의 보완을 위한 분석방법의 개선에 관한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것이다. 사용해 설계된 장치를 사용자가 쉽게 제작할 수 있도록 하였다. 공정설계프로그램을 통해 설계된 공정은 데이터베이스에 저장이 되며 장치설계프로그램에서 쉽게 이전에 설계했던 공정을 이용할 수 있도록 하여 공정 설계와 장치설계를 연계하도록 하였다.동투하시간과 비용 -종자준비부터 통마늘선별까지의 일관기계화로 투입된 주요작업의 노력은 75∼76%가 절감되고, 재배규모 3ha기준시 비용은 44-53%절감되었음. the annealing texture.   • The traffic signal has been widely used in the transport system with a fixed time interval currently. This kind of setting time was determined based on experience for vehicles to generate a waiting time while allowing pedestrians crossing the street. However, this strict setting causes inefficient problems in terms of economic and safety crossing. In this research, we propose a monitoring algorithm to detect, track and check pedestrian crossing the crosswalk by the patterns of behavior. This monitoring system ensures the safety for pedestrian and keeps the traffic flow in efficient. In this algorithm, pedestrians are detected by using HOG feature which is robust to illumination changes in outdoor environment. According to a complex computation, the parallel process with the GPU as well as CPU is adopted for real-time processing. Therefore, pedestrians are tracked by the relationship of hue channel in image sequence according to the predefined pedestrian zone. Finally, the system checks the pedestrians' crossing on the crosswalk by its HOG based behavior patterns. In experiments, the parallel processing by both GPU and CPU was performed so that the result reaches 16 FPS (Frame Per Second). The accuracy of detection and tracking was 93.7% and 91.2%, respectively.

  • Recently, analog broadcasting are being converted into digital radio broadcasts, Among the various ways that HD Radio is a candidate for the U.S. approach, Digital Radio will transmit a digital signal to existing analog FM/AM. It provides clear sound quality, traffic information, weather information and various value-added services. In addition, the converted digital radio will be able to meet demand to growing demand for analog FM. In this paper, Digital FM Radio system in the same frequency band using electric field strength of the received digital radio broadcasting interference effects were analyzed. And Digital FM Radio Receiver interference effects were analyzed by interference signal power and signal power. Results were confirmed by applying equation at minimum field strength and SNR.
