  • The main criteria for objective measure of the level of transportation service is travel time and delay time. In this paper, the level of service is measured by using moving vehicles method. Through this, we get the hourly traffic volume, the average travel time, space average speed, etc. In addition, we get the density of traffic.

Estimation of Urban Traffic State Using Black Box Camera (차량 블랙박스 카메라를 이용한 도시부 교통상태 추정)

  • Traffic states in urban areas are essential to implement effective traffic operation and traffic control. However, installing traffic sensors on numerous road sections is extremely expensive. Accordingly, estimating the traffic state using a vehicle-mounted camera, which shows a high penetration rate, is a more effective solution. However, the previously proposed methodology using object tracking or optical flow has a high computational cost and requires consecutive frames to obtain traffic states. Accordingly, we propose a method to detect vehicles and lanes by object detection networks and set the region between lanes as a region of interest to estimate the traffic density of the corresponding area. The proposed method only uses less computationally expensive object detection models and can estimate traffic states from sampled frames rather than consecutive frames. In addition, the traffic density estimation accuracy was over 90% on the black box videos collected from two buses having different characteristics.

  • The probe vehicle penetration rate is a required parameter in the estimation of entire volume, density, and queue length from probe vehicle data. The previous studies have proposed estimation methods without point detectors, which are based on probability structures for the locations of probe and non-probe vehicles; however, such methods are poorly suited to the case of multi-lane streets. Therefore, this study aimed to estimate the probe vehicle penetration rate at a multi-lane intersection and introduce a probability distribution of the queue length of each lane. Although a gap between estimates and observations was found, the estimates followed the trend of observations; the estimation could be improved by the correction factor hereafter. This study is expected to be used as a basic study for the estimation of entire volume, density, and queue length at multi-lane intersections without point detectors.

  • 위험물 차량사고는 일반차량의 교통사고시 발생하는 인명피해, 재산피해, 교통지체 외에 부가적으로 환경적 영향에 의한 엄청난 인명 및 재산손실을 유발시킬 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 위험물차량사고를 예방하고 피해를 최소로 줄이기 위해서는 위험물수송경로의 신중하고 체계적인 결정이 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 외국의 경우, 위험물의 방출이 미치는 환경적 영향에 대한 인식이 확대되면서 위험물 수송시 응급처리에 관한 연구, 위험물 수송에 따른 위험도 평가에 관한 연구, 위험물 수송시 고려해야할 여러 조건에 관한 연구, 위험물 수송경로 설정에 관한 연구 등이 진행되고 있다. 반면에 우리 나라는 위험물차량관리와 사고처리에 대해 실시간적인 관리를 목표로 하는 국가차원의 계획을 수립하고는 있지만, 현재 이와 관련된 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 앞으로 산업발달에 따른 위험물수송량의 증가와 환경의식의 변화에 따라 위험물수송 및 사고처리 등에 관한 연구가 필요할 것이다. 따라서, 본 연구는 위험물차량의 운송경로를 결정할 때 고려해야 할 여러 가지의 기준 및 목표에 따라 위험물수송경로를 설정하는 모형을 제시함으로써 위험물수송에 수반되는 위험을 최소화하면서 위험물차량의 통행시간, 거리, 비용 등을 최적화하여 위험물수송의 안전 및 운영효율성을 향상시키고자 한다. 먼저, 위험물 수송경로의 기준지표로 사용될 위험도를 산정하기 위해 링크 주변노출인구, 밀도 등을 변수로 하는 모형식을 제안하고, 두 번째로 산정된 위험도를 기반으로 최적경로를 결정하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 마지막으로 가상 네트웍에 본 연구에서 제안된 모형을 적용하고 현재 일반적으로 사용되는 최단경로와 비교·분석하였다.것은 운송거리와 운송비용이 각각 주요한 변수라는 것이다. 모형의 타당성을 검증하기 위해서는 logilikelihood 값을 구하여 $\rho$^2분석을 시행하였다. 여기서는 각 품목별로 $\rho$^2값이 약 0.15~0.3의 비교적 높은 수치를 보여주고 있으므로 모형의 설명력이 어느 정도 있다는 것이 아울러 증명이 되었다. 상관관계에 대한 분석에서는 영업용 차량간의 상관관계가 높게 나타났으며, 이는 곧 영업용 화물차량을 적재중량별로 구분하는 것이 별 의미가 없음을 의미한다. 다시 말하면 자가용 차량을 보유하고 있지 않은 회사는 다른 운송전문업체에 화물운송을 의뢰하게 되므로 출하중량에 따라 화물차량을 구분하는 것에 대해서 그다지 큰 고려를 하지 않는 것으로 해석할 수가 있다.적합함을 재확인함. 6. 혼잡초기를 제외한 혼잡기간 중 대기행렬길이는 밀도데이터 없이도 혼잡 상류부의 도착교통량과 병목지점 본선통과교통량만을 이용하여 추정이 가능함. 7. 이상에 연구한 결과를 토대로, 고속도로 대기행렬길이를 산정할 수 있는 기초적인 도형을 제시함.벌레를 대상으로 처리한 Phenthoate EC가 96.38%의 방제가로 약효가 가장 우수하였고 3월중순 및 4월중순 월동후 암컷을 대상으로 처리한 Machine oil, Phenthoate EC 및 Trichlorfon WP는 비교적 약효가 낮았다.>$^{\circ}$E/$\leq$30$^{\circ}$NW 단열군이 연구지역 내에서 지하수 유동성이 가장 높은 단열군으로 추정된다. 이러한 사실은 3개 시추공을 대상으로 실시한 시추공 내 물리검층과 정압

Development of Impulse Propagation Model between Lanes through Temporal-Spatial Analysis (시공간적 분석을 통한 차로간 충격량 전파모형 개발)

  • In general, flow propagation has been explained using the shock wave theory which is expressed as a function of variations in volume and density. However, the theory has certain limitation in portraying heterogeneous flow, e.g., flow propagation between lanes. Motivated by this fact, this study seeks a new measure for analyzing the propagation characteristics of traffic flow at three sections of highway (i.e., merging area, weaving section, and basic section) from temporal and spatial perspectives, and then develops a model for estimating the measure for the flow propagation. The "shock wave speed" which is the measure widely adopted in literature, was first applied to describe the propagation characteristics, but it was hard to find distinct characteristics in the propagation. This finding inspires to develop a new measure named "Impulse Volume". It is shown that the measure better explains the propagation characteristics at the three study sections of highway. In addition, several models are also developed by performing multi-regression analyses to explain the flow propagation between lanes. The models proposed in this paper can be distinguished in three sections and the lane placement.

Development of Regression-based Bike Direct Demand Models (회귀분석기반의 자전거 직접수요추정 모형 구축)

  • Bike system is one of the green transportation systems and spotlighted recently. In the TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) based transportation and urban planning, bike system will be the major part as linkage modes. In this paper, bike demand estimation model was firstly established in Korea, with considering of personal and household characteristics of traveller, social and economic characteristics of city, weather conditions, and so on. The model reflects population density, the number of students except elementary school students, the number of vehicles, the length of bike roads, and monthly income. The adjusted $R^2$ was 0.738: the model is highly fitted. The results of this paper yield bike demand estimation in the urban planning area: further estimated results will be using to determine economic feasibility and size of bike facility. In other words, this paper is expected to provide the theoretical basis that supporting justification and investment efficiency of bike plans, which are actively progressed recently.

  • More accurate vehicle trajectory data are now readily available through Differential Global Positioning Systems (DGPS). A variety of research opportunities emerge with utilization of such high resolution traffic data. A novel approach of this study is to explore drivers' responsive behavior to variable message signs (VMS) by using individual vehicle trajectories extracted from in-vehicle DGPS data. Responsive characteristics of drivers traveling on urban freeways, which can be represented by speeds and acceleration rates, under the provision of real-time traffic information through VMS are statistically investigated. In addition to conducting an ANOVA test, probability density functions of acceleration rates were estimated. The findings of this study can be used to understand the impact of drivers' workload when providing VMS messages on traffic flow patterns. Furthermore, results can be important fundamentals to assist in conducting more realistic traffic simulations.

Development of a Real Time Video Image Processing System for Vehicle Tracking (실시간 영상처리를 이용한 개별차량 추적시스템 개발)

  • Video image processing systems(VIPS) offer numerous benefits to transportation models and applications, due to their ability to monitor traffic in real time. VIPS based on wide-area detection, i.e., multi-lane surveillance algorithm provide traffic parameters with single camera such as flow and velocity, as well as occupancy and density. However, most current commercial VIPS utilize a tripwire detection algorithm that examines image intensity changes in the detection regions to indicate vehicle presence and passage, i.e., they do not identify individual vehicles as unique targets. If VIPS are developed to track individual vehicles and thus trace vehicle trajectories, many existing transportation models will benefit from more detailed information of individual vehicles. Furthermore, additional information obtained from the vehicle trajectories will improve incident detection by identifying lane change maneuvers and acceleration/deceleration patterns. The objective of this research was to relate traffic safety to VIPS tracking and this paper has developed a computer vision system of monitoring individual vehicle trajectories based on image processing, and offer the detailed information, for example, volumes, speed, and occupancy rate as well as traffic information via tripwire image detectors. Also the developed system has been verified by comparing with commercial VIP detectors.

  • The use of existing macroscopic research of pedestrian behavior on the walking link as data is limited in determining an individual pedestrian's moving route and the level of service. In macroscopic studies, it is difficult to make quantitative indices, such as pedestrian flow rate, occupied space, density, and speed for determining the level of service on pedestrian roads. Therefore, the microscopic pedestrian route is required to establish appropriate pedestrian policies. In this study, the Yeok-Sam subway station network was examined using a micro-simulation VISSIM, which was then calibrated and validated statistically. The Pedestrian Road's Level of Service of Yeok-Sam subway station area was evaluated using the pedestrian speed as the evaluating index on the Korean highway capacity handbook.

  • There are many problems and limits in equipments being used for traffic-volume analysis in the country. And traffic-volume information acquired through existing equipments is not provided in real-time. In the case of urban, there are limits on guarantee of trust on comprehending a appropriate road-volume because of difficulty on analyzing traffic-volume density and time series. And it is difficult to applicate in deciding a road policy as existing equipments don't provide the control information of traffic-flow. Therefore, it is necessary to build a road-flow policy rapidly and accurately through the road-flow information that analyze post-processed statistics data using traffic-flow investigation based on real time. In this study, we developed TICS(Traffic Information Collection System) based on GPS which could transmit traffic information transformed from car location information to traffic control center. And we developed TCS(Traffic Control System) based on Web GIS, which could manage and analyze transmitted traffic information, and it could offer handled road-flow information to Web-site in realtime.
