Web Accessibility Compliance of Major Web Sites in Korea (국내 민간기업의 웹 접근성 준수 실태)

  • Internet is essential to live nowadays, but persons with disabilities are hard to use internet because people who develops and operate web sites don't think and comply the web accessibility standard. In order to solve this problem, Korea governments implement a lot of policies such as. making web accessibility standard, operating web accessibility education program, etc.. The purpose of this paper is examined the web accessibility compliance of major web sites such as portal, news, banking, education in Korea. In order to investigate the web accessibility compliance status of major web sites's in Korea, 15 web sites were chosen. This study was used the 4 major checkpoints that must be the crucial among 14 checkpoints in Internet Web Contents Accessibility Guidelines which was amended by Ministry of the Information and Communication in 2005. The results of this study showed that 15 major web sites in Korea didn't meet the 4 major checkpoints.

Bikeway Vitalization Countermeasures Using Bikeway User Satisfaction Model (자전거도로 이용자 만족도 모형을 통한 자전거도로 활성화 대책)

  • There are many efforts for expanding bikeway plans and increasing bike utilization. In this study the authors try to find the primary factors that affect bike users' satisfaction under limited budgets. As satisfaction is a qualitative variable, the authors developed a bike user satisfaction model by using structural equation methods. The bikeways are distinguished between bike lanes on public roads and exclusive bikeways along the Han River, as the characteristics and attributes should be different. The model shows bikeways on public road have a user satisfaction equal to 0.248*(safety)+0.405(accessibility). Bikeways along the Han River have a user satisfaction equal to 0.437*(accessibility)+0.405*(economic feasibility). In both types, accessibility affects satisfaction. Safety in more important to users on public roads, while economic feasibility affects those on the Han River bikeways.

Network Structures of The Metropolitan Seoul Subway Systems (서울 대도시권 지하철망의 구조적 특성 분석)

  • This study analyzes the network structure of the Metropolitan Seoul subway system by applying complex network analysis methods. For the purpose, we construct the Metropolitan Seoul subway system as a network graph, and then calculate various indices introduced in complex network analysis. Structural characteristics of Metropolitan Seoul subway network are discussed by these indices. In particular, this study determines the shortest paths between nodes based on the weighted distance (physical and time distance) as well as topological network distance, since urban travel movements are more sensitive for them. We introduce an accessibility measurement based on the shortest distance both in terms of physical distance and network distance, and then compare the spatial structure between two. Accessibility levels of the system have been getting up overall, and thus the accessibility gaps have been getting lessen between center located subway stops and remote ones during the last 10 years. Passenger traffic volumes are explored from real passenger transaction databases by utilizing data mining techniques, and mapped by GIS. Clear differences reveal between the spatial patterns of real passenger flows and accessibility. That is, passenger flows of the Metropolitan Seoul subway system are related with population distribution and land use around subway stops as well as the accessibility supported by the subway network.

  • 국제해사기구가 선박배출가스규제지역 내 질산화물 규제를 적용하고 2020년부터는 항해 중인 모든 선박에 황산화물 규제를 적용하기로 하는 등 선박해양오염 규제가 강화되어, 친환경 연료로 운항하는 LNG Fuel Ship에 대한 수요가 높아지고 있다. 이로 인해 LNG 연료공급 시장규모의 성장이 전망되며 관련시설로 해상 부유상태의 FLBT(Floating LNG Bunkering Terminal)의 기술개발과 연구가 진행 중에 있다. 본 연구목적은 FLBT 시설의 설치에 적합한 후보지를 선정하는 것이다. 영해 내에 위치하고 설계수심과 수요항만과 접근성이 우수한 후보지의 제시를 위해 LNG Fuel Ship의 입출항 예상항만과 해상시설에 대한 국내외 사례조사 및 사전연구에서 제시된 후보수역에 대한 해상교통조사를 수행하고 심층분석 하였다. 조사 및 분석결과를 바탕으로 수요지 접근성과 항행안전을 고려한 FLBT 최종 후보지를 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 신호제어 및 ITS 분야에 활용하기 위한 검지 시스템을 구성하기 위 한 알고리즘의 하나인 대기 행렬 계측 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서는 대기열의 속 성을 standing queue와 moving queue로 구분하여, 각 속성에 따라 대기열의 발생지점을 계측한다. 알고리즘의 평가는 아주대학교 앞 4지교차로의 한 접근로에서 실시되었다. 평가 항목으로는 오차율과 통계적 검정을 실시하였으며, standing queue와 moving queue에 대 하여 주·야간 각 50개씩 sample을 가지고 실시하였다. 평가 결과 standing queue는 주·야 간 모두 비교적 우수한 것으로 평가되었으나, moving queue는 미흡한 결과를 나타내어, 좀 더 보완이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 대기열의 속성을 standing queue와 moving queue로 분리함으로써 접근로의 상황을 더욱 정확하게 판단할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Estimating Utility Function of In-Vehicle Traffic Safety Information Incorporating Driver's Short-Term Memory (운전자 단기기억 특성을 고려한 차내 교통안전정보의 효용함수 추정)

  • Most traffic information that drivers receive while driving are stored in their short-term memory and disappear within a few seconds. Contemporary modeling approaches using a dummy variable can't fully explain this phenomenon. As such, this study proposes to use utility functions of real-time in-vehicle traffic safety information (IVTSI), analyzing its safety impacts based on empirical data from an on-site driving experiment at signalized intersection approach with a limited visibility. For this, a driving stability evaluation model is developed based on driver's driving speed choice, applying an ordered probit model. To estimate the specified utility functions, the model simultaneously accounts for various factors, such as traffic operation, geometry, road environment, and driver's characteristics. The results show three significant facts. First, a normal density function (exponential function) is appropriate to explain the utility of IVTSI proposed under study over time. Second, the IVTSI remains in driver's short-term memory for up to nearly 22 second after provision, decreasing over time. Three, IVTSI provision appears more important than the geometry factor but less than the traffic operation factor.

  • Marine traffics near Ulsan approaching waters are crossing and converged at the diverging point of No.1 route-No.2 route and No.1 route-No.3 route and are also concentrated at near No1. route approaching area and the headland of Gawn-Jel. Because the number of berth will increase to 78 from 49 until 2011 due to additional developments, minor modification is expected for the water utilities.   • Since Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2005 takes effect, the transportation policies of most countries move toward encouraging the use of the transit mode with energy efficient and low carbon. Korea is 8th country of producing Co2 emissions and will be one of obligation countries decreasing Co2 after year 2013. In order to improve the efficiency of national transport system investment, this study developed the strategies toward rail-oriented transport system by considering operational speed and accessability, rail-oriented development, and introduce of ubiquitous technique in railway. The four major strategies targeted for future year are introduced here such as One-hour rail(connecting major cities within one hour), Seamless 30(accessing major railway stations within 30 minutes, Rail urbanism (railway-based urban planning), and U-rail (railway service with ubiquitous technique). Each strategy includes several action plans and their priorities are investigated using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) to organize them by time scheme as short, mid, and long term perspective.

  • In order to resolve transportation system focused on vehicles which have led to all sorts of problems such as traffic congestion, air pollution and so on, Korea recently have tended to center around Transit Oriented Development(TOD) which is capable of initiating public traffic demands. It is imperative to develop objective evaluation method which is able to measure pedestrian environment and amenity in order to facilitate green transit. The purpose of this paper is to present evaluation indices and measurement framework of pedestrian environment by analyzing effect on TOD major planning factors such as diversity, density, design, and supply etc. For this, we applied evaluation index with regard to TOD planning factors, investigating connection to pedestrian and employed AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) so as to quantify the result of measurement in Jongro 3ga and Hangangjin station. As a result, we presented relationship between travel patterns of pedestrian and each TOD planning factor. More importantly, the proposed framework is expected to make the best of the visualization as well as evaluation method for the pedestrian accessibility, convenience of public transportation, and the mixed land-use patterns in subway area and transit center.

Development of Selection Model of Interchange Influence Area in Seoul Belt Expressway Using Chi-square Automatic Interaction Detection (CHAID) (CHAID분석을 이용한 나들목 주변 지가의 공간분포 영향모형 개발 - 서울외곽순환고속도로를 중심으로 -)

  • This study develops model for analysis of relationship between major node (Interchange in expressway) and land price formation of apartments along with Seoul Belt Expressway by using CHAID analysis. The results show that first, regions(outer side: Gyeongido, inner side: Seoul) on the line of Seoul Belt Expressway are different and a graph generally show llinear relationships between land price and traffic node but it does not; second, CHAID analysis shows two different spatial distribution at the point of 2.6km in the outer side, but three different spatial distribution at the point of 1.4km and 3.8km in the inner side. In other words, traffic access does not necessarily guarantee high housing price since the graphs shows land price related to composite spatial distribution. This implies that residential environments (highway noise and regional discontinuity) and traffic accessibility cause mutual interaction to generate this phenomenon. Therefore, the highway IC landprice model will be beneficial for calculation of land price in New Town which constantly is being built along the highway.
