Analysis of Accident Characteristics and Development of Accident Models in the Signalized Intersections of Cheongju and Cheongwon (지방부 신호교차로 사고특성분석 및 모형개발 (청주.청원을 중심으로))

  • The purposes of this study are to analyze the characteristics and to develop the models of traffic accidents. In pursuing the above, this study gives particular attentions to developing the models(multiple linear, poisson and negative binomial regression) using the data of Cheongju and Cheongwon signalized intersections. The main results analyzed are as follows. First, the accident characteristics of rural area were defined by factor. Second, 4 accident models which are all statistically significant were developed. Finally, such the variables as $X_2$ and $X_{11}$ were evaluated to be specific variables which reflect the characteristics of rural area.

  • 길이 좁고 차도와 인도의 구분이 없는 골목길의 특성상 사각지대가 많고 보행자의 동선을 예측하기 힘들어 교통사고가 많이 발생하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 AI 를 활용, 영상 내 사물을 추적하여 골목길에서의 사고를 예방하는 시스템을 제안한다. 해당 시스템은 Object - Detection & Tracking 을 사용하여 보행자 및 차량을 식별·추적하여 두 개 이상의 사물이 동시에 교차로에 접근 시 사고 예방 알람을 발생시킨다. 이 시스템을 전국에 설치되어 있는 CCTV 에 활용하면 추가적인 비용과 설치 시간에 제한받지 않고 전국적으로 응용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 현재 전체 교통사고 건수는 감소하는 추세이지만 보행자 교통사고는 점점 증가하고 있다. 또한 보행자 교통사고 중 고령보행자 교통사고건수 비율이 높은데 이에 따른 원인분석과 예방 대책에 관한 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 고령보행자 다발지역을 분석하여 사고 원인을 비교분석 하는 것이다. 다발지역 분석결과 대부분 보행자가 횡단 중 일 때 사고가 발생하였고, 도로형태에서는 교차로, 신호기가 없는 일반도로에서 많이 발생했다. 이에 무단횡단을 방지하는 시설 확대 설치와, 무단횡단의 위험성을 알리는 안전교육의 필요성이 있다고 본다.

  • Image-based traffic information collection systems have entered widespread adoption and use in many countries since these systems are not only capable of replacing existing loop-based detectors which have limitations in management and administration, but are also capable of providing and managing a wide variety of traffic related information. In addition, these systems are expanding rapidly in terms of purpose and scope of use. Currently, the utilization of image processing technology in the field of traffic accident management is limited to installing surveillance cameras on locations where traffic accidents are expected to occur and digitalizing of recorded data. Accurately recording the sequence of situations around a traffic accident in a signal intersection and then objectively and clearly analyzing how such accident occurred is more urgent and important than anything else in resolving a traffic accident. Therefore, in this research, we intend to present a technology capable of overcoming problems in which advanced existing technologies exhibited limitations in handling real-time due to large data capacity such as object separation of vehicles and tracking, which pose difficulties due to environmental diversities and changes at a signal intersection with complex traffic situations, as pointed out by many past researches while presenting and implementing an active and environmentally adaptive methodology capable of effectively reducing false detection situations which frequently occur even with the Gaussian complex model analytical method which has been considered the best among well-known environmental obstacle reduction methods. To prove that the technology developed by this research has performance advantage over existing automatic traffic accident recording systems, a test was performed by entering image data from an actually operating crossroad online in real-time. The test results were compared with the performance of other existing technologies.

  • The main purpose of this study is to search a method for reducing traffic accident at signalized intersections. One of the important factors for this is the Left-turn phase sequence. In 1985, the operational principle of Left-turn phase Sequence was changed from Lagging left-turn to Leading left-turn in Korea. Then there was a resonable motive-no exclusive left turn-lane and narrow intersection. So, it is necessary to evaluate the performance difference between Leading and Lagging left -turn phase Sequence. The process of this study is as follows: $\cdot$ First, all the intersection was divided three parts for analysis the traffic safety: Inside part of an Intersection, Crosswalk, Intersection approach and exit. $\cdot$ Second, a safety analysis was performed by using the concepts of 'Effective interphase Period(EIP)' and 'Conflict method' The Study result is that the benefit of of phase Sequence changes from Leading to Lagging phase were significant. For an example the Accident cost will reduced about 41.8 billion won per year in korea.

  • Predicted in this paper are flow distributions in average and hot channels of the reactor core during small and large break LOCAs. Also estimated based on REALP5/MOD2 calculations are the effects of cross flow between channels on LOCA analysis results. It has been so far generally accepted that a single average channel is sufficient for small break LOCA core hydraulic modelling. However, based on these calculation results, hot channel modeling (two channel modeling) is found necessary in order to guarantee more reliable and conservative results. In large break LOCA blowdown phase, the hot channel thermal hydraulics is worse than that of average channel in both cases with the without consideration of cross flow.

  • 교통문제는 과거에 비하여 보다 복잡해지고 다양해지고 있으며, 이러한 교통문제를 해결하기 위한 방안을 도출하는 분석기법 또한 다양해지고 있다. 이러한 기법중 안전도 평가기법에 관한 연구는 선진국에서는 1970년대부터 진행되어 왔으나, 이에 반하여 국내에서는 최근에서야 안전도에 대한 문제가 부각되면서 이에 대한 연구가 시작되고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문은 국내 외 연구사례를 중심으로 교통상충기법(TCT)을 소개하였고, 가장 진보된 방법인 스웨덴의 상충분석기법을 기반으로 국내에 적용할 수 있도록 모형을 개발하고 심각한 정도에 따라 4개 죤으로 분류하여 위험순위를 평가할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였으며, 실제로 이러한 상충분석기법을 국내의 3개 교차로 분석에 적용하여 보았다. 사고와 상충간의 conversion factor는 수집된 자료의 부족으로 사고자료의 심각도까지는 고려하지 못하였으 나, TA값을 구하고 4개죤 분류를 통하여 위험순위를 분석하여 교차로의 안전도평가에 이용할 수 있음은 보여주었다. 상충조사 분석은 안전도 평가를 저 비용과 짧은 시간내에 보다 상세한 결과를 도출할 수 있다는 점과 대상지의 사전 후 단기간 평가 방법에 가장 효과적인 기법이라는 측면에서 국내 안전도 평가에 많이 적용되기를 바란다.

Development of Traffic Accident Frequency Prediction Model in Urban Signalized Intersections with Fuzzy Reasoning and Neural Network Theories (퍼지 및 신경망이론을 이용한 도시부 신호교차로 교통사고예측모형 개발)

  • This study is to suggest a methodology to overcome the uncertainty and lack of reliability of data. The fuzzy reasoning model and the neural network model were developed in order to overcome the potential lack of reliability which may occur during the process of data collection. According to the result of comparison with the Poisson regression model, the suggested models showed better performance in the accuracy of the accident frequency prediction. It means that the more accurate accident frequency prediction model can be developed by the process of the uncertainty of raw data and the adjustment of errors in data by learning. Among the suggested models, the performance of the neural network model was better than that of the fuzzy reasoning model. The suggested models can evaluate the safety of signalized intersections in operation and/or planning, and ultimately contribute the reduction of accidents.
