  • Recently, the open source software market is becoming bigger and bigger as its demand keeps increasing worldwide. A variety of policies have been driven in Korea in order to vitalize the open source software. However, the performance for vitalizing the open source GIS software has not been initiated yet. The purpose of this research is to generate the support plan to vitalize the domestic open source GIS software which is appropriate for real field by analyzing the actual demand and user requirements. For this purpose we reviewed all the researches related to the vitalization of the open source software and conducted a survey based on the awareness of the open source GIS software, the current vitalization status, the adoption intent and necessary strategies for vitalization. According to the survey, the intent of adopting the open source GIS software is relatively high in both enterprises(97%) and universities(89%). On the other hand it is very low in public organizations(69%). As a result, the survey implies that more intense public relations are needed to escalate the awareness of the open source GIS software in the public organizations. In addition, the survey shows that both education and technology support are definitely needed as a strategies for the vitalization of the open source GIS software. We expect that this research can be utilized as a basic material for the policy making of the vitalization of the open source GIS software in Korea in the future.

  • This study focused on exploring real transaction price of apartment and spatial and temporal heterogeneity of the variables that influence real transaction price of apartment from the spatial and temporal perspective. As independent variables that are considered to influence real transaction price of apartment, transport, local characteristics, educational conditions, population, and economic characteristics were taken into account. Accordingly, the influence of independent variables and spatial distribution pattern were analyzed from the global and local aspects. The spatial and temporal changing patterns of real transaction price of apartment which is a dependent variable were analyzed. First, to establish an analysis model, OLS analysis and GWR analysis were conducted, and thereby more efficient and proper model was selected. Secondly, to find spatial and temporal heterogeneity of independent variables with the use of the selected GWR model, Local $R^2$ was used for local analysis. Thirdly, to look into spatial distribution of independent variables, kriging analysis was carried out. Therefore, based on the results, it is considered that it is possible to carry out more microscopic housing submarket analysis and lay the foundation for establishing a policy on real property.

  • This paper analyzed the qualitative evaluation indicators of the SYSTEM sector of the LINC program, which aimed at strengthening ability of regional universities through the activities of industry-academia cooperation (IAC). By using interview data and the program reports of universities, this research explored the problems of the indicators and suggested improvement measures which could lead to performance creativity. According to research results, in university system reform for activating IAC, some improvements are required as follows: limiting excessive expansion of IAC-friendly faculty evaluation; and evaluating soft aspects in the reform of academic affairs. In relation to strengthening of ability of the IAC organization, the indicators need to be amended as follows: enhancing the role of channel of IAC Foundation; strengthening the function of planning team of the IAC Foundation; and inducing development of own model of universities for IAC. As regards expansion of IAC infrastructure, it is necessary to enlarge the manpower who can develop programs of the support center in the foundation and to secure of operators for effective operation of joint-using equipments. Therefore, the indicators are required to be upgraded, considering these improvement direction.

  • The purposes of this study were to understand the oral health promotion behavior and dental health condition of primary school children and to examine the relationships between the two variables. For that purpose, 729 fifth and sixth graders from four primary school located in Seoul were surveyed. In addition to the survey responses, dental examination results were used for analysis. The findings were as follows: 1. The children scored 3.51 out of full 5 points in oral health promotion behavior. they scored the highest at 3.82 in dietary habits, which were followed by going to a dentist for prevention purposes at 3.43, the method and frequency of brushing teeth at 3.40 and the use of fluorine at 3.39. 2. It turned out that 46.9% of the children had decayed permanent teeth. The number of decayed teeth was $1.66{\pm}2.32$, that of missing teeth was $0.03{\pm}0.24$. 3. There were reverse correlations(r = -0.32) between the children's subjective perception of their dental health condition and decayed teeth. The more positive perceptions they had for their own dental health condition, the less decayed teeth they had(p < 0.01). 4. There were also reverse correlations(r = -0.10) between the children's oral health promotion behavior and decayed teeth. The more they were engaged in Behavior of alimentation, the less decayed teeth they had(p < 0.01). The results indicate that primary school children can keep their dental health by practicing the right oral health promotion behavior, which calls for a need to develop and apply dental health education programs to promote the oral health promotion behavior among primary school children.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the education intervention program as a nutrition program and exercise for the improvement of metabolic syndrome in women who voluntarily participated in health program in public health centers over 30 years of age. The subjects of this study were 120 women who completed the 12 - week obesity clinic program among the 400 obesity clinic participants in the northeastern of Seoul. Exercise and nutrition programs were administered on a daily basis for 1 hour every week for 12 hours with exercise and nutrition for 1 week to assess the effect of the participants on the risk factors of metabolic syndrome in health program. The metabolic syndrome and the risk of the disease were examined by analyzing the metabolic syndrome risk factors, change magnitude and change rates before and after the intervention. Waist circumference(p <.001), systolic blood pressure (p <.001), diastolic blood pressure (p <.001) and body mass index (p <.001) decreased during the 12 - week health program. Body weight (p <.01), waist circumference (p <.05), BMI (p <.01) and fat mass (p <.05) decreased more in the age group below 50 years.
