Influence of Critical Thinking Disposition on Satisfaction with Clinical Practice and Intention of Recommendation among Paramedic Students (응급구조학과 학생들의 비판적 사고성향이 임상실습만족도와 추천의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the critical thinking disposition of paramedic students to their satisfaction with hospital clinical practice and intention of recommendation. As for data analysis, the statistical packages SPSS WIN 20.0 and AMOS 20.0 were employed, and frequency analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis and structural equation modeling were utilized. Besides, Cronbach alpha coefficients were calculated to check item internal consistency. The level of significance was all set at .05. A survey was conducted to collect data from May 12 to August 25, 2012, and the answer sheets from 305 respondents were gathered and analyzed. The critical thinking disposition of the paramedic students was found to have a significant impact on their satisfaction with clinical practice, and the hypothesis about that was accepted. Their critical thinking disposition was found to exert a significant influence on their intention of recommendation as well, and the hypothesis about that was accepted. Finally, their satisfaction with clinical practice was found to affect their intention of recommendation in a significant way, and the hypothesis about that was accepted. The findings of the study suggested that in order to nurture professional and competent paramedics, the content of clinical practice should systematically be managed on a regular basis, and prolonged research efforts should be directed into program development.

Influence of Emotional Labor, Communication Competence and Resilience on Nursing Performance in University Hospital Nurses (대학병원 간호사의 감정노동, 의사소통능력, 회복탄력성이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship amongst emotional labor, communication competence, resilience, and clinical nursing performance of university hospital nurses, and to identify the influencing factors on job performance of clinical nurses who work at two university hospitals. The data was collected using questionnaires from 216 nurses in February 2016. Data was analyzed using one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression using IBM SPSS 22. There were differences in communication competence (F=3.679, p=.003), resilience (F=7.909, p<.003), and nursing performance (F=2.331, p=.044) correlates with the frequency of leisure activity. The significant relationships were found among age (r=.242, p<.001), years of service (r=.278, p<.001), emotional labor (r=.211, p=.002), communication competence (r=.585, p<.001), and resilience (r=.431, p<.001) with nursing performance in university hospital nurses. The result of the stepwise multiple regression indicates that communication competence and years of service predict 40.9% (F=75.356, p<.001) in nursing performance of university hospital nurses. The most powerful predictor was communication competence (${\beta}=.581$, p<.001), followed by years of service (${\beta}=.268$, p<.001). In conclusion, to enhance nursing performance for university hospital nurses, it is necessary to develop and utilize educational programs that enhance the communication competence and to develop strategies to support leisure activities for university hospital nurses.

Factors influencing on intention to intake fruit: moderating effect of fruit intake habit (과일섭취 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인: 과일섭취 습관의 조절효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting fruit consumption behavior by application of the Theory of Planned Behavior. In addition, this study examined the moderating effect of a fruit eating habit. Methods: A total of 734 consumers who have ever purchased fruit participated in this study. Results: Results of this study showed that attitudes toward fruit intake, social norms, and perceived behavioral control had significant impacts on the level of fruit intake. Fruit eating habit that showed high correlation with eating behavior was also included in the model identifying factors having an influence on fruit intake. Attitudes toward fruit intake, social norms, and perceived behavioral control had a positive influence on intention to intake fruit. Fruit eating habits played a moderating role in the relationships between intention to intake fruit and real fruit intake. Conclusion: Increasing positive attitudes toward fruit intake, social norms, and perceived behavioral control would be helpful in increasing the amount of fruit intake.

Analysis on Actual Condition of Chemistry Teachers' Scientific Competency Assessment Based on Inquiry Report (탐구보고서에 기반한 화학교사의 과학 역량 평가 실태 분석)

  • This study investigated the condition of chemistry teacher's student competency assessment based on the inquiry report. To this end, an inquiry report was collected for chemistry teachers who took the training at two universities that conducted the 2020 first-class chemistry teacher training. The science subject competencies presented in NAEA analysis framework was used to analyze what kind of competencies teachers assess students through inquiry reports. A total of 63 chemistry teachers submitted inquiry reports, which were analyzed by competency, sub-element of each competency, and detail element to analyze the actual situation. As a result of the study, most chemistry teachers reflected their 'scientific inquiry and problem-solving ability' in their evaluation through inquiry reports. 'Ability to understand and apply scientific principles', which is mainly evaluated through paper-based evaluation, was partially used as confirmation of prerequisite learning at the beginning of the inquiry and the weight of evaluating 'scientific communication skill' was not large. In 'scientific inquiry and problem-solving ability' through inquiry report, 'design and conduct explorations', 'data analysis and interpretation' and 'drawing conclusion and suggesting solution' were mainly assessed. However, 'discover and recognize problems' and 'development and use of model' were hardly assessed.

The Structural Equation Model Analysis among Variables of Preventive Behavior to Herpes Zoster for Adults over 50 Years Old (50세 이상 성인의 대상포진 예방행위 관련변인들 간의 구조분석)

  • Objective : This study is purposed to suggest basic data of developing program preventing Herpes zoster by analysis of related variables for adults over 50 years old. Methods : Data had been collected by 225 adults over 50 years old who participated in health program in B city, interested program of welfare service center in C city and community residence through self-administered questionnaire from $15^{th}$ June to $15^{th}$ July 2016. The collected data was analyzed by IBM SPSS statistics v.18 and AMOS v.18. Results : Based on the verification of model by the results of the study, ${\chi}^2=365.785$(df=193, p<.001), $CMIN/DF({\chi}^2/df)=1.90$, GFI=0.88, AGFI=0.84, NFI=0.88, TLI=0.93, CFI=0.94, RMR=0.07, RMSEA=0.06, The action of Herpes zoster preventive behavior and perceived behavior control for adults over 50 years old made direct influence to the Herpes zoster preventive behavior and the attitude of preventive behavior showed the largest total effect. Conclusions : In conclusion, for improving action of Herpes zoster preventive behavior for adults over 50 years old, it is important to induce change of attitude about Herpes zoster preventive behavior. Also, the development and strategy of education program, which can improve action of Herpes zoster preventive behavior, are necessary through emphasizing perceived behavior control about Herpes zoster preventive behavior.

Influences of Self-esteem, Rehabilitation Motivation on Quality of Life in Stroke Pateints with Rehabilitation Therapy (재활치료 중인 뇌졸중 환자의 자아존중감, 재활동기가 삶의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the levels of self-esteem, rehabilitation motivation and quality of life and to identify the influencing factors of quality of life in stroke patients who were receiving rehabilitation therapy. Data were collected from February 22 to March 20, 2016 using self-administered questionares and the data from 216 participants were analyzed using SPSS WIN 21.0 program(SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). The results of this study were as follows: the mean self-esteem was 3.09/5, rehabilitation motivation was 3.60/5, and quality of life was 2.95/5. Sex, age, education, caregiver, occupation, duration after attack, the degree of disability(dependence), and cognitive function were significantly associated with quality of life. There was positive correlation between quality of life and self-esteem(r=.45, p<.001) and there was positive correlation between quality of life and rehabilitation motivation(r=.27, p<.001). Variables such as self-esteem, duration after attack, the degree of disability(dependence), and cognitive function explained 43.6%(F=14.87 p=<.001) of the variance in quality of life in model 3. Consequently, it is needed to develop and apply nursing intervention and programs for improving self-esteem during rehabilitation in order to improve quality of life of stroke patients.

The Effects of Adult Attachment and Self-Differentiation on Clinical Competency of Nursing Students (성인애착과 자아분화가 간호대학생의 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to understand the relationship between the clinical competency of nursing students and their adult attachment and self-differentiation of nursing students. Data collection was conducted from the third and fourth grade students who had experienced clinical practice in a nursing university at Daejeon, Chungcheong province in two nursing universities at Daejeon and Chungcheong province. Finally, 169 out of initial 200 questionnaires were used for analysis. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation effectiveness, and stepwise multiple regression using the SPSS Statistics 22 Windows program. Attachment avoidance in adult attachment was significantly correlated with self-differentiation (r=-240, p=.002) and clinical competency (r=-.237, p=.002). Clinical competency was significantly correlated with attachment avoidance (r=-.237, p=.002) and self-differentiation (r=.248, p=.001). The result of stepwise multiple regression indicates that self-differentiation and attachment avoidance (F=8.707, p<.001) predicts 8.4% in clinical competency. The most powerful predictor was self-differentiation (${\beta}=.203$, p=.008), followed by attachment avoidance (${\beta}=.188$, p=.0015). Therefore, in order to improve the clinical competency of nursing college students, it is deemed necessary to develop and apply educational and counseling programs capable of increasing their level of self-differentiation while decreasing their degree of attachment avoidance.

A Study on the Convergent Factors Related to the State Anxiety of Female Administrative Staff in Medical Institution (의료기관 여성 행정직원의 상태불안과 관련된 융복합적 요인)

  • This paper was attempted to identify the convergent factors related to the state anxiety of Female Administrative Staff in Medical Institutions(FASMI). For randomly selected 226 FASMI at 27 medical institutions in J region, from July 4, 2018 to July 25, 2018, we conducted an anonymous self-administered questionnaires. As a result of hierarchical multiple regression analysis, the state anxiety of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which subjective happiness is lower, a group in which cynicism, sub-areas of job burnout are higher, a group in which psychosocial stress is higher, the explanatory power of them was 57.3%. In conclusion, in order to lower the state anxiety of FASMI, it is necessary to increase subjective happiness, lower cynicism, which is a sub-area of job burnout, and to lower psychosocial stress. These results could be used in hospital job management and mental health education to lower the level of state anxiety in FASMI. Future research needs to develop and interpret a structural equation model that affects the state anxiety of FASMI.

Analysis of Attitudes and Influencing Factors on Foreign Workers (외국인 근로자에 대한 태도와 영향요인 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the attitudes of Korean people regarding foreign workers and to analyze the influence factors. Analysis of the attitude difference and the influential factors utilized the SPSS ${\chi}^2$ test and multinomial logistic regression analysis using 2016 data obtained from the 'Koreans' Consciousness and Values'. Socio-demographic variables, national identity, and socioeconomic variables were used as explanatory variables. The attitude types (friendly, negative, and dual) of respondents were identified, and the influence of explanatory variables influencing these attitudes was identified. Analysis found they have a relatively generous stance on granting legal rights, while they are negative regarding the economic and social threats from foreign workers. As a result of analyzing the factors affecting attitudes, there are significant differences in each influence. However, negative attitudes and dual attitude concerning with negative legal rights found common to the influence of the factors of national identity. Gender and ratio of foreign workers were influential factors for dual attitudes with a high economic threat. On the other hand, socioeconomic factors reflecting the realistic conflict theory were not found to have any effect. The negative attitude of foreign workers in our society can be regarded as cognitive threats rather than realistic experiences or conflicts.

The Relationship between Adult Attachment and Interpersonal Relationship Competence of College Students: The Mediating Effect of Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies (대학생의 성인애착과 대인관계능력의 관계: 인지적 정서조절 전략의 매개효과)

  • The primary purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of cognitive emotion regulation strategies in the relationship between adult attachment and interpersonal relationship competence. To achieve the purpose of the study, college students from nationwide completed the questionnaire and analyzed 326 valid ones. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, and structural equation model were performed using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 23.0. The results are as follows. First, adult attachment(attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance) were negatively correlated with interpersonal relationship competence. Also, attachment avoidance was significantly influenced on interpersonal relationship competence than attachment anxiety. Second, in the relationship between adult attachment and interpersonal relationship competence, attachment anxiety was fully mediated and attachment avoidance was partially mediated with cognitive emotion regulation strategies. Attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance mediated with adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies. Based on these results, we verified the importance and the possibility of changing the cognitive emotion regulation for increasing the level of interpersonal relationship competence. Finally, this study may provide an insight in terms of developing education and programs of adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies in counseling session.
