The aim of this study was to identify the factors related to the practice of patient safety management (PSM) in nursing college students. The participants comprised 139 students in a nursing college. Data collection was conducted for five days from November 26, 2018 to November 30, 2018. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired t-test, independent t-tests, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson's correlation coefficient, and a multiple regression analysis. The total score for practice of PSM was $4.25{\pm}0.48$ out of a maximum of 5. Practice of PSM had a statistically significant relationship with attitude (r=.39, p<.001), confidence (r=.43, p<.001), and perception of the importance (r=.54, p<.001). The factors affecting practice of PSM were perception of the importance (${\beta}=.43$, p<.001) and confidence (${\beta}=.26$, p=.001); the explanatory power of the model was 38%. Therefore, it is necessary to include the perception of importance of PSM and confidence in the practice of PSM by nursing college students.

This study is a qualitative study to explore the experiences of nursing students' psychological nursing practice in-school. The subjects of this study were 62 students who were the 3rd grade nursing students at a University in Gangwon-do. The data were collected from August 3rd to August 20th, 2020. For data analysis, Colaizzi's qualitative analysis method was applied. Six categories were derived from data analysis: 1) Lingering affection for clinical practice in field. 2) Achievement through learning 3) Fear of nurse's role in future 4) Burden for many tasks 5) Feeling free of stress from clinical practice in field 6) Importance of cooperation with other departments. The positive aspects of in-school practice education, which from nursing students' evaluation, were immediate feedback, detailed explanations, and indirect experiences. Based on this study result, it is recommended to develop in-school nursing practice education program for gap-reducing with clinical practice. It would be consisted of various contents: simulation, online/non-face-to-face practice, face-to-face practice for indirect experience. In addition, these multi-aspect effort is needed more in psychological nursing practice education to reduce the gap with clinical practice such as therapeutic communication and hallucination interventions.

Recently, child safety map making education has attracted attention as a way to reduce crimes against children. In Korea, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family organized a child safety map making education program in 2011. The program's manual was revised in 2013 and the Ministry implemented it as a project to promote the rights of women and children. Child safety map making education aims to raise a child's understanding of their neighborhood, to have voluntary control and normal consciousness as a local inhabitant, to be aware of wrong behavior and crime, and to be part of creating a safe urban environment. However, when compared to educational programs in other major developed countries, the child safety map making education program in Korea currently does not improve a child's awareness of their surroundings. In this workshop study, we proposed and ran a new program to improve children's awareness of their environment based on the active participation of children in the existing safety map educational program. The workshop was held for 4 weeks for 48 students from 5th and 6th grade at Osan Daeho Elementary School. We analyzed this new program's effects with the following results. First, an analysis of the effects of the program on children's recognition of safe and dangerous spaces revealed that their understanding of these spaces increased by 30.4% after the workshop. The safety-related factor in the mind map key concept increased from 0.94 to 4.94, indicating that the children's perception of neighborhood risk and safety factors improved. Second, the analysis of the effects of the program on the children's coping ability in dangerous situations showed that their understanding of how to deal with dangerous situations increased by 11.3%. The children's understanding of facilities they could ask for help, such as police boxes and child safety guard houses, improved by 17.9%. Third, analysis of the effects of child safety map making education on children's understanding of their neighborhood, their perception of responsibility in the neighborhood, and their neighborhood attachment showed that these levels of children's understanding of the neighborhood improved by 6.0% after the workshop.

This paper is a study on the digitization of an analog 3D pen. The term digital implies features such as homeostasis, transformability, combinability, reproducibility, and convenience of storage. One device that produces a combination of these digital characteristics is a 3D printer, but its industrial use is limited due to low productivity and limitations with materials and physical characteristics. In particular, improvements are required to use 3D printers, such as better user accessibility owing to expertise and skills in modeling software and printers. Complementing this fact is the 3D pen, which is excellent in portability and ease of use, but has a limitation in that it cannot be digitized. Therefore, in order to secure a digitalization capability and ease of use, and to secure the safety of printing materials that pose controversial hazards during the printing process, research problems and alternatives have been derived by combining food, and digitization was demonstrated with a newly developed 3D pen. In order to digitize the 3D pen, a sensor in a structured device detects the motion of an analog 3D pen, and this motion is converted into 3D data (X-Y-Z coordinate values) through a spatial analysis algorithm. To prove this method, the similarity was confirmed by visualization using MeshLab version 1.3.4. It is expected that this food pen can be used in youth education and senior healthcare programs in the future.

The purpose of this study was to investigate empathic ability, Nunchi, learning flow and clinical competency, and to identify the influencing factors on clinical competency of nursing students. Method: There were 179 nursing students as participants in K city, who were surveyed between May 10 and May 14, 2021, using a self-report questionnaire. Data were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression using SPSS Win 21.0. Result: There was a positive correlation between empathic ability and Nunchi(r=.148, p=.048) and between learning flow and clinical competency(r=.605, p<.001). In the multiple regression, Academic achievement(𝛽=.129, p=.049), Age(𝛽=-.116, p=.014) and satisfaction of clinical practice(𝛽=-.242, p<.001) were associated with clinical competency. These factors accounted for 38.4% of the total variance in clinical competency. Therefore, to improve clinical competency of online nursing practice of nursing college students, it is necessary to develop a specific strategy to improve academic achievement and to develop various activities and programs to immerse students in satisfaction of online practice.
Elderly suicide is a major public health issue in South Korea. The aim of this study was to systematically examine the current knowledge about suicidal ideation among Korean older adults with specific focus on risk and preventive factors. In order to achieve this aim, a meta-analysis was conducted using Korean academic peer-reviewed journals published since 2001. A total of 97 articles were selected that met the research criteria (e.g., original study findings and key words of suicidal ideation, suicidal thought, and suicide). Three domains were identified and used for further analysis: individual, family, and society. Results showed that among individual factors, depression and burden or stress increased the risk of suicidal ideation, while better mental health reduced the risk of suicidal ideation. Among family factors, living alone was a risk factor for suicidal ideation, while family cohesion was a preventive factor for suicidal ideation. Among social factors, elderly discrimination, social isolation, and negative relationships were significant risk factors, while social support, social environment, and social activities were significant preventive factors affecting suicidal ideation. The results suggest several practical implications for developing suicide prevention programs and counseling approaches to address suicidal ideation. For example, depression and stress can be reduced by MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) program where meditation is used as a coping strategy. In addition, counseling programs specifically focused on improving family and social relations should be implemented. Government should continuously support for these programs to prevent suicide among older Koreans.
The purpose of this study is to verify whether the relationship between gratitude disposition and psychological well-being of college students shows a mediating effect of self-esteem The final 211 copies of the data were used in the analysis for the study, which was collected as students attending the university located in Group C. The data were statistically processed using SPSS 21.0 and the hierarchical regression analysis was performed to analyze the collected data. The results of the study are summarized as follows: Looking at the impact of the first-phase gratitude disposition on self-esteem, it was found that gratitude disposition was significant to self-esteem. Looking at the impact of the second-phase gratitude disposition on psychological well-being, gratitude disposition was significant to psychological well-being. Since the three-stage gratitude disposition was significant to psychological well-being, self-esteem can be seen to have partial medias. The results of this study confirmed that gratitude disposition was necessary as psychological resources to promote psychological well-being of university students, and self-esteem had a mediating effect. It is hoped that this research result will be used as a basis for the development of programs to improve gratitude disposition and self-esteem in order to promote the psychological well-being of college students.

This study is a descriptive correlation study to identify the factors affecting life satisfaction for shift service workers and is a secondary data analysis study using the raw data from the Fifth Korean Work Environment Survey. Five hundred and seventy-seven study subjects were selected from 20-year-old wage workers who had more than one year of work experience at the time of the survey and had worked more than 40 hours a week. The analysis used SPSS 23.0 WIN, including a t-test, one-way ANOVA by Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation oefficients, and Hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Regarding the general characteristics of the subjects, there was a difference in life satisfaction according to age, educational level, industrial type, and subjective health status. The higher the work-life balance and work satisfaction of the shift service worker, the higher the life satisfaction. In addition, social support had a moderating effect on the relationship between work-life balance and work satisfaction of shift service workers. Active social support, work satisfaction, and work-life balance improvement promotion programs were developed and applied to shift work service workers considering the factors influencing life satisfaction, thereby improving the life satisfaction of work shift service workers.
This study aims to analyze online news articles to identify social issues related to patient safety and compare the changes in these issues before and after the implementation of the Patient Safety Act. This study performed text mining through the R program, wherein 7,600 online news articles were collected from January 1, 2010, to March 5, 2020, and examined using keyword analysis, topic modeling, and word co-occurrence network analysis. A total of 2,609 keywords were categorized into 8 topics: "medical practice", "medical personnel", "infection and facilities", "comprehensive nursing service", "medicine and medical supplies", "system development and establishment for improvement", "Patient Safety Act" and "healthcare accreditation". The study revealed that keywords such as "patient safety awareness", "infection control" and "healthcare accreditation" appeared before the implementation of the Patient Safety Act. Meanwhile, keywords such as "patient safety culture". and "administration and injection" appeared after the act's implementation with improved ranking of importance pertaining to nursing-related terminology. Interest in patient safety has increased in the medical community as well as among the public. In particular, nursing plays an important role in improving patient safety. Therefore, the recognition of patient safety as a core competency of nursing and the persistent education of the public are vital and inevitable.

This study examined the degree and relations of stroke literacy, health literacy, stroke knowledge, and self-management to identify the significant determining factors affecting stroke prevention among middle-aged and older adults with a high incidence of stroke. Data on the sociodemographic characteristics, stroke literacy, health literacy, stroke knowledge, and self-management of 198 participants were collected from December 5, 2019, to March 31, 2020, using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 23.0 program. The determining factors affecting self-management in middle-aged and older adults were age (β=.190. p=.015), followed in order by smoking (β=-.226, p=.001), self-rated health status (β=.297, p<.001), and stroke knowledge (β=-.168, p=.014); the explanation power was approximately 20.3%. The results suggest that the self-rated health status and stroke knowledge should be considered when developing nursing interventions to improve self-management among middle-aged and older adults. Furthermore, it will be necessary to find the intervening variable between stroke knowledge and self-management for community-dwelling middle-aged and older adults in the community. Overall, these findings underscore the importance of systematic and ongoing education on stroke prevention.
