Research on a statistics education program utilizing deep learning predictions in high school mathematics (고등학교 수학에서 딥러닝 예측을 이용한 통계교육 프로그램 연구)

  • The education sector is undergoing significant changes due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the advancement of artificial intelligence. Particularly, the importance of education based on artificial intelligence is being emphasized. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to develop a statistics education program using deep learning prediction in high school mathematics and to examine the impact of such statistically problem-solvingcentered statistics education programs on high school students' statistical literacy and computational thinking. To achieve this goal, a statistics education program using deep learning prediction applicable to high school mathematics was developed. The analysis revealed that students' understanding of context improved through experiencing how data was generated and collected. Additionally, they enhanced their comprehension of data variability while exploring and analyzing various datasets. Moreover, they demonstrated the ability to critically analyze data during the process of validating its reliability. In order to analyze the impact of the statistics education program on high school students' computational thinking, a paired sample t-test was conducted, confirming a statistically significant difference in computational thinking between before and after classes (t=-11.657, p<0.001).

  • 사회과학 학문을 공부하는 학생들은 현상을 분석하고 미래를 예측하는 기법으로 통계를 많이 사용하고 익혀야 한다. 본 연구에서는 맹목적으로 수치를 다루는 회계 및 통계 학습에서 벗어나 멀티미디어로 흥미를 유발시키고 인터넷상에서 학생들이 직접 실습을 할 수 있는 환경을 구축하여 회계 통계 학습에 도움을 주어 실제 산업체에 적용 가능한 지식을 주고자 한다. 본 연구는 사회과학의 분야에서 어떠한 형태의 자료를 입력하여도 사용자가 바라는 통계를 얻도록 하는데 주안점을 두고 있다. 개발된 멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 통하여 이루어진 학습에 대하여 효과를 측정하여 멀티미디어 기술을 활용한 사회과학 통계교육에 어떤 효과가 있는지를 분석하고자 한다.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a statistical program using data and artificial intelligence prediction models and apply it to one class in the sixth grade of elementary school to see if it is effective in improving students' statistical literacy. Based on the analysis of problems in today's elementary school statistical education, a total of 15 sessions of the program was developed to encourage elementary students to experience the entire process of statistical problem solving and to make correct predictions by incorporating data, the core in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution into AI education. The biggest features of this program are the recognition of the importance of data, which are the key elements of artificial intelligence education, and the collection and analysis activities that take into account context using real-life data provided by public data platforms. In addition, since it consists of activities to predict the future based on data by using engineering tools such as entry and easy statistics, and creating an artificial intelligence prediction model, it is composed of a program focused on the ability to develop communication skills, information processing capabilities, and critical thinking skills. As a result of applying this program, not only did the program positively affect the statistical literacy of elementary school students, but we also observed students' interest, critical inquiry, and mathematical communication in the entire process of statistical problem solving.

  • The idea of this paper is to get the time series data from the number of student on the elementary, meddle and high-school for the forecasting of the numbers of student. Tow models, model A and model B, of time series data are obtained. The Holt-Winters additive methods are used for the forecasting of the numbers of student with the model A and model B until 2019 year. As the result, the abilities of forecasting on model A and B are better than those of the Korean education statistical system 2007.

  • Students, who are studying the field of accounting, have to learn and practice statistics in order to analyze the current social status and to predict the Suture trend. however, students have a strong tendency to avoid the statistics lessons, which are dealing with complicated numbers, mathematics, various equations, and so on. This paper aims to construct a stimulating environment for learning statistics and develop an actual lesson on the Internet, Which students can study by practicing directly. The lesson is fully interactive and visualized by using multimedia technologies. The effectiveness of the experiment is measured by survey questions to the students who used the lesson.

  • The goal of this paper is to get the result of the forecasting for the numbers of a high-school graduate by a moving average method and the statistical analysis for numbers of the limit of matriculation on the most colleges and universities in Daegu city and Gyoungbook until 2026 year. Recently, the decrease of the number of a high-school graduate have influences on the number of limit matriculation. The future of most colleges and universities in Daegu city and Gyoungbook is hanging in the balance after the crisis of the serious decrease of the number of a high-school graduate until 2026 year.

  • Because of the continuous low birthrates, the number of the elementary students will decrease by 17% in 2020 compared to 2011. The purpose of this study is to forecast the number of elementary school teachers until 2020. We used the data in education statistical year books from 1970 to 2010. We used the time-series regression model, time series grouped regression model and exponential smoothing model to predict the number of teachers for the next ten years. Consequently time-series grouped regression model is a better model for forecasting the number of elementary school teachers than other models.

  • 구조방정식모델(Structural Equation Modeling: SEM)은 변수들 간의 인관관계 및 상관관계를 검증하기 위한 통계기법으로 사회학 및 심리학 분야에서 개발되었지만 현재는 경영학, 광고학, 교육학, 생물학, 체육학, 의학, 정치학 등 여러 학문분야에서 광범위하게 사용되고 있다. Amos는 기본적으로 그래픽(Amos graphics)과 베이직(Amos basic)을 제공하기 때문에 정확한 프로그램의 작성이나 행렬에 대한 지식이 없는 초보자들도 아이콘을 이용하여 복잡한 연구모델이나 다중집단분석모델을 분석할 수 있다. PLS(Partial Least Square)는 모형 추정과정에서 발생하는 잔차 또는 예측오차를 최소화하여 예측력을 극대화하기 위한 프로그램이며, 즉, PLS-SEM는 표본 수가 적고 자료가 정규분포를 보이지 않거나 조형지표 모델이거나 복잡한 연구모델 분석에 유용하다. 최근 빅데이터의 열풍으로 자료들을 분석을 위한 도구로 R이 실무 현장에서 인기를 끌고 있다. R은 통계 프로그래밍 언어이자 오픈 소프트웨어 환경으로 통계, 그래픽, 데이터마이닝 등의 다양하고 방대한 양의 패키지들을 지원한다. R에서 제공되는 패키지들이 오픈 소스이고 선형 및 비선형 모델링, 고전적인 통계분석, 시 계열 분석, 분류 및 군집분석 등의 다양한 통계 패키지들을 제공한다는 측면에서 R은 실무는 물론 학문적인 측면에서도, 특히 통계를 기반으로 실증분석을 수행하는 사회과학연구들에서 중요한 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

An Analysis of Research Trends on Statistics Education in Korea from 2000 to 2016 (우리나라 통계교육 연구의 동향 분석 - 2000년 이후 발행된 국내 통계교육 연구논문을 중심으로 -)

  • Statistics education research is an important basis for improving the practice of statistical education by describing, predicting, and explaining the phenomena of statistical education. In this study, the research trends in Korea were analyzed through the statistical education research papers published in major Korean mathematics education journals on the 21st century. 99 papers published in these journals from 2000 to 2016 were categorized by journals, research subjects, research methods, and, topics. As a result, it was shown that there are not many statistics education researchers, so domestic researches are dependent on some researchers. In addition, the numbers of studies of human subjects and human non-subject researches were similar. There were few studies of university students, and the studies of teachers' subjects was gradually increasing since 2010. In the case of research methods, the numbers of experimental and non-experimental studies seem to be similar, but this is a result of the increase in qualitative research and mixed research since 2010. Last, many studies about domestic statistics education are on teaching and learning, and the studies on reasoning and understanding have been increasing. In this study, we see the research trends of domestic statistics education and provide implications for the future researches and development directions of statistical education research.
