기계공학교육에 있어서 PC의 활용

  • 기계공학 교육에 있어서 PC의 활용에 대해 평소 필자가 생각했던 몇 가지 사항을 두서없이 기술 하였으나 여기서 다시 한번 강조하고자 하는 것은 전체 공학분야에 있어서의 PC의 역할이 더욱 더 증대될 것이 확실하다는 점이며 이러한 상황하에서는 기계공학 교육에 있어서도 이를 적극 적으로 대처해야 할 필요성이 있다. 이제 21세기가 목전에 다가왔고 세계의 기술전쟁이 한층 더 치열해지는 이 시점에 있어서 우리 모두는 보다 효과적이고 실질적인 새로운 교육환경의 조성에 절대로 인색해서는 안될 것이며 이런 관점에서 우리 모두가 PC를 기계공학 교육에 적극 활용 하기를 바란다.

  • The purpose of this study was to survey the actual state of engineering ethics curriculum in engineering college. This study was carried out through literature review and survey to accomplish the purpose. The subjects for the survey were 31 lecturer from 14 colleges that accrediated by ABEEK and prepare accrediatation. The results of this study were as follows. EAC(Ethics Across the Curriclum) was introduced in Engineering Ethics Education. There were a lot of students in a lecture and the plural lecturers were not appoined. In objectives of education, it was surveyed that focused in engineering situation above all theory of ethics and theoritical contents are entering into large part of engineering ethics education. The lecture method and paper-pencil assessment were used mainly in the lecture.

  • Laboratory work is so much important in the engineering education. But laboratory work program at most domestic engineering education institutes is still poor and could not have been actively improved and reinforced due to the difficulty in preparing the necessary fund, facilities, professional personnel and so on. The school of mechanical engineering in Pusan National University, sponsored by the national special engineering education project, has poured intensive and strong efforts into improving and strengthening laboratory work program in the courses of education. In this paper, the brief content of the improved laboratory work program and the established system for putting through the program effectively are introduced around the topics such as the integrating laboratory work of mechanical/electronic/computer engineerings, systematic managing and progressive deepening of the laboratory level through the classification of the laboratory works, education system for putting through efficiently the program for a large mass of students and program for encouraging the creativity.

A Case Study on Comparison Between Korea and America in Accreditation System of Engineering Education (미국과 한국의 공학교육인증 체제 비교에 대한 사례 연구)

  • The purpose of the study was to analyze system of accreditation for mechanical engineering education between A university in Korea and M university in U.S.A. which were evaluated in 2007 under EC2000. Literature review through self-study report and homepage of two programs was used to accomplish objectives of the study. Strengths of U.S.A for accreditation evaluation system were systematic curriculum operation, design education with cooperation system, course-based evaluation system for program outcome, supportive circumstances for research of faculty and guidance to students. On the other hands, strengths of Korea were likely to use quantitative data for educational improvement and were able to systematic guide to students with portfolio. In the future, plan and research for design education, curriculum operation and program outcome evaluation are needed to establish ABEEK evaluation.

  • This article is a theoretical and empirical study of engineering and gender, and also explores the policy development of WIE program. WIE in Korea aims to foster talented women engineers through the introduction of gender-sensitive engineering education system, field-adaptive skill improvements of women students, and industry-university collaborations. This study examines gender perspectives to analyze our WIE program. It is important to recognize that it's not enough to acquire institutional and structural equity in developing women in engineering. Above all, we should note our situations that has frustrated women's career development in engineering. In university education, we need to improve the engineering faculty's recognition of gender equity. Efforts to establish the professional identity of women engineers, involvement of men and women students, and building of women engineers' network are necessary elements to implement successful WIE program. Additionally, we discuss that policy support to WIE program should be continued and enlarged in university level.

  • 코딩 교육에 대한 중요성이 높아짐에 따라 국가 주도적 교육이 강화되고 있다. 컴퓨터 프로그래밍이 낯선 교육생을 위해 교육 커리큘럼에 블록 코딩을 도입하고 있으나 낮은 흥미도로 인해 여전히 교육 성취도가 낮게 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터 프로그래밍에 대한 관심을 유발하고 학습을 보조하는 드론 기반의 체감형 교육 프로그램모델을 제시한다. 제시하는 교육 모델은 사용자가 코딩한 블록 코드를 파이썬 코드로 변환하여 보여주고, 블록 코드로 첨부된 드론의 동작을 제어하도록 코딩할 수 있다. 사용자의 심화학습을 위해 추가적으로 제공하는 웨어러블 장갑 컨트롤러를 통해 드론과 연관하여 동작 제어가 가능하게 하여 흥미 유발과 더불어 학습 효과 향상을 기대할 수 있다.

Industrial Survey Analysis for Engineering Education of Civil, Chemical, and Electronics Engineering (토목, 화공, 전자 분야의 공학교육에 대한 산업체 설문조사 분석)

  • In this study, several issues of engineering education of Korea were pointed out through the survey for industrial employees in the areas of civil, chemical and electronics engineering. For the area of civil engineering, a questionnaire based upon the outcomes of ABEEK(accreditation board for engineering education of Korea) was developed for the survey, and the replies from the survey were then analyzed. For the areas of chemical and electronics engineering, data obtained from the literature study were used for analyses. The results of analyses show that the level of engineering education is much lower than that of the industrial demand in the case of all three divisions. It shows the urgency in improvement of engineering education.
