  • This study was conducted with a goal to identify the factors that determine radiology students' satisfaction with their major and to provide the basic data for efficient education and career guidance. The result indicated that the students' satisfaction with the professors' roles was high. However, overall, the level of satisfaction with the curriculum was found to be low. In addition, it was analyzed that there was a large gap between recognition and practice of self-directed learning. In the correlation analysis, the professors' roles were also found to be a very important factor. Based on the result, the professors' roles of center(teaching or state examination, students with questions etc.,), it was concluded that improvement of the radiology students' satisfaction with their major would help the students adapt themselves to the major and school successfully and develop a positive character to perform as professionals in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the correlations of learning attitude, class participation, and learning satisfaction, and to identify the influencing factors on learning satisfaction of nursing students in fundamental nursing curriculum. Data were collected from 173 nursing students from September 1 to 8, 2017. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. Learning attitude, class participation, and learning satisfaction according to the general characteristics commonly showed significant differences in satisfaction with major, satisfaction with school, friendship, last semester grade, and interest in fundamental nursing. Learning satisfaction showed significant positive correlations with learning attitude and class participation. Satisfaction with major, interest in fundamental nursing, and class participation, which accounted for 36% of the variance, were significant predictors influencing learning satisfaction in nursing students. It is necessary to increase majors' satisfaction, fundamental nursing interest, and class participation in order to improve learning satisfaction of nursing students.

  • The study aims to find a way to guarantee high school students choose science subjects by exploring its necessity as a prerequisite for admission to university science and engineering major courses. For this purpose, a survey was administered to 516 science & engineering college students to investigate their cognition and completion of the prerequisite science subjects related to their major, department adjustment, and influence on their major of study. Among nine major clusters, Physics was identified as a science domain with a high relevance to majors in five major clusters, and Chemistry in three. The students who completed both science I and II subjects related to their majors responded most positively to the usefulness of prerequisite subjects to their studies. Suggestions include conditions for the opening of science II subjects, strengthening the connection between science subjects and IT, promotion of linkage between the prerequisite subject and major studies to assert students' choice of science subjects in high school.

  • This study was conducted to analyze the satisfaction level that students in physical therapy departments have with their major after they enter college; it also aimed to present the factors that affect that satisfaction. With regard to satisfaction in relation to general characteristics, no significant difference in satisfaction was shown between the two genders or among the times of selection of the department. Significant differences in satisfaction with the department were found for high school courses, school systems, grades, and the influences on the selection of the department. The variables that significantly affected satisfaction with the department were: satisfaction with perception, satisfaction with curricula, general satisfaction, and satisfaction with relationships. In particular, satisfaction with perception showed the highest standardized regression coefficient value for satisfaction with the department. Based on the results of this study, to enhance the satisfaction levels of students in physical therapy departments, interest in physical therapy should be drawn from the students based on social perception and high level educational environments, and the relationship between the processors and the students should be improved.
