Economic Feasibility of Energy Storage System connected with Solar /Wind Power Generation (태양광/풍력 연계 기반의 ESS 경제성 분석)

  • Currently, the government is encouraging the introduction of energy storage system to reduce carbon emissions and peak power demand. The government is planning the cumulative capacity of ESS of 2GW in 2020. By utilizing charge and discharge of the ESS, it is possible to sell the surplus power to utility and electricity market. This paper suggests the model that economic feasibility of energy storage system for planning the construction of power generation facilities in 2035. Our results of simulation indicate the energy storage plan of utility for constructing renewable energy facilities is need to incentives from the government to encourage power utilities and expansion of ESS.

Efficient Protection/Restoration by Separation of Domains in Optical Networks (광 네트워크에서의 도메인 분리에 의향 효율적인 보호복구)

  • Protection of user service becomes increasingly important since even very short interruption of service due to link or node failure will cause huge data loss and incur tremendous restoration cost in high speed network environment. Thus fast and efficient protection and restoration is one of the most important issues to be addressed. Protection methods have been proposed to provide efficiency and stability in optical networks. In this paper, an original network is separated into several domains using Hamiltonian cycle. and link protection is performed on the cycles of the domains. We have shown that protection path length can be decreased up to $57{\%}$ with marginal increase of backup capacity. Our proposed method can provide high-speed protection with marginal increase of protection capacity.

Fabrication and Characterization of PIN-Preamplifier Module for High Speed Optical Receiver (고속 광통신용 PIN-전치증폭기 수광모듈 제작 및 특성 측정)

  • We fabricated a single mode fiber pigtailed PIN-preamplifier front-end receiver module for the high speed optical receiver. Hybrid method was used to integrate GaInAs PIN photodiode and transimpedance type GaAs preamplifier. The capacitance and the diameter of light receiving area of PIN photodiode were 0.35 pF and $20{\mu}m$ respectively. The -3 dB cut-off frequency of PIN-preamplifier module was above 2 GHz, and the sensitivity of the module at 2.5 Gbps NRZ $(PRBS=2^{23}-1)$ signal was -25.2 dBm at $10^{-9}$ BER. > BER.

  • In this paper, large capacity Photonic ATM switch structure is proposed. It contains mixed routing structure using TDM and WDM methods. Through this structure, we can get not only required hardware reduction, and optical power loss reduction in cell routing procedure but also the less complexity of electrical parts using passive device. Also, it is designed for ease to simplicity of extension in throughput, so it is suitable structure for large capacity Photonic ATM switching system of the future.

Economic analysis of Solar PV panel recycling project (폐태양광 재활용 사업의 경제성 분석 및 정책적 시사점)

  • In accordance with the government's expansion of solar power generation, the installation of solar panels is expected to expand in Korea. On the other hand, policy discussions on the establishment of a domestic post-management system for waste from photovoltaic power are insufficient. This study estimated the benefit-cost of solar PV Panel recycling and derived the implications for the photovoltaic waste policies in Korea. Overall, the profitability of the recycling project is very low when the project execution period is 10 years. On the other hand, the economic efficiency of the project can be sufficiently high when the duration of the solar panel recycling project is extended to 20 years. In the short term, it is challenging to expect voluntary companies to enter this recycling business because of low economic efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare various policies to improve the economic efficiency of the recycling business. In conclusion, the following policy implications for PV panel recycling activation are proposed: i) legislation for the recycling of waste solar photovoltaic panel, ii) designation of Association for Solar Panel waste monitoring, and iii) expansion of R & D and the development of various business models related to solar recycling.

  • In this paper, we propose a new optical switching system as a infrastructure of the BcN, in which the high traffic volume will be expected due to the multimedia service, like P2P services. Because the JET protocol, the most popular protocol in OBS (Optical Burst Switching) research area, has high blocking probability for burst, it prevents commercialization in real network for its low throughput in TCP layer. To improve high blocking rate in OBS network, we segment large network into small network and perform burst scheduling to avoid burst loss. By using proposed scheme, Internet provider can reduce network deployment cost in Metro network as well as large mesh core networks

  • Recently, new dispersed generation systems such as photovoltaic, wind power, fuel cell etc. are energetically interconnected and operated in the distribution systems, as one of the national projects for alternative energy with the provision against oil crisis. The technical guidelines on the interconnection of dispersed generation systems have been established and conducted positively. However, protection devices (Re-closer) in primary feeder of distribution system interconnected with photovoltaic generation may cause problems with mis-operation, and then many customers could have problems like an interruption. So, this paper presents the optimal method to minimize the impact of interruption, using both the symmetric method and MATLAB/SIMULINK. And, also this paper shows the effectiveness of proposed method by simulating at the real distribution systems.

  • 전 세계 태양광 발전용량은 2010년 초 25GW에서 2019년 말 617.9GW로, 지난 10년 동안 25배 이상 증가하였다(2019년 전세계 태양광 발전(PV)의 추가량은 거의 133GW 추정). 2020년에도 세계 태양광시장은 120~150GW를 형성해 전년대비 10% 내외의 성장세를 이어갈 것으로 전망되며, 향후에도 성장률은 다소 낮아지겠지만 2030년 태양광 수요피크 200GW까지 지속적인 성장이 기대된다. 한편 우리나라 수상태양광은 높은 잠재력(저수면적의 7%를 활용할 경우 5,304MW 규모의 수상태양광 개발이 가능)을 가지고 있는 것으로 평가된다. 신(新)정부 국정과제 3020 신재생 확산정책에 따라 신재생에너지 보급률 확산이 전망되는 가운데, K-water의 중장기('17~'26) 전략경영계획에 따르면 수상태양광은 2026년까지 2,758MW 개발을 목표로 하고 있다. 하지만, 수상태양광은 경제성과 환경적 측면에서의 불확실성을 포함하여 시설물의 안정성 검증, 사회적 수용성 등 극복해야 할 정책과제들을 안고 있다. ① REC 가격의 안정화, 경제성 제고 문제(높은 운영 및 관리 비용), ② 난개발, 환경·경관·안전 문제에 대한 주민들의 우려 : 주민 수용성 제고, ③ 투자 사기와 유착·비리, 편법개발, 난개발에 대한 규제방안, ④ 지역사회와의 거버넌스 및 갈등관리 문제, 공용 전력망 부족과 계통연계 문제 등. 이에 본 연구는 태양광 선도국가의 정책 사례 분석을 통해 수상태양광 관련 명확한 규제 및 지원정책을 제언하고자 한다. 분석방법으로는 첫째, 주요 국가에서 시행 중인 수상태양광에 대한 금융지원 및 정책 지원을 국내 사례와 비교·분석하였으며 둘째, 경제적·생태적 관점에서 수상태양광 모델을 개발하고, 이를 지역사회가 수용할 수 있도록 정책적 대안을 제시하였다.

양자점 태양전지구조내 결함상태와 광전변환 특성인자와의 상관관계 분석

  • 지난 수년간 태양전지의 광전변환효율을 높이기 위해 자가 조립된 InAs 또는 GaSb와 같은 양자점을 GaAs 단일 p-n 접합에 적용하는 연구를 개발해 왔다. 그러나 양자점의 흡수 단면적에 의한 광 흡수도는 양자점층을 수십 층을 쌓으면 증가하지만 활성층에 결함을 생성시킨다. 생성된 결함은 운반자트랩으로 작용하여 태양전지의 광전변환효율을 감소시킨다. 본 실험에서는 양자점이 적용된 태양전지와 적용되지 않은 태양전지의 광전변환 효율을 비교하고, 깊은준위 과도용량 분광법을 이용하여 결함상태를 측정 및 비교함으로써, 활성층 내부에 생성된 결함이 광전변환 효율에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 소자구조는 분자선 증착 방법을 이용하여, 먼저 n+-형 GaAs기판위에 n+-형 GaAs를 250 nm 증착한 후, 도핑이 되지 않은 GaAs활성층을 $1{\mu}m$ 두께로 증착하였다. 마지막으로 n+ 와 p+-형 GaAs를 각각 50, 750 nm 증착함으로써 p-i-n구조를형성하였다. 여기서, n+-형 GaAs 과 p+-형 GaAs의 도핑농도는 동일하게 $5{\times}1018cm-3$로 하였다. 또한 양자점을 태양전지 활성층에 20층을 형성하였다. 이때 p-i-n 태양전지 와 양자점 태양전지의 광전변환 효율은 각각 5.54, 4.22 % 를 나타내었다. p-i-n 태양전지의 개방 전압과 단락전류는 847 mV, 8,81 mA이며 양자점 태양전지는 847 mV, 6.62mA로 확인되었다. 태양전지의 전기적 특성을 측정하기 위해 소자구조 위에 Au(300nm)/Pt(30nm)/Ti(30nm)의 전극을 전자빔증착장치로 증착하였으며, 메사에칭으로 직경 $300{\mu}m$의 태양전지 구조를 제작하였다. 정전용량-전압 특성 및 깊은준위 과도용량 분광법을 이용하여 태양전지의 결함분석 및 이에 따른 광전변환 특성인자와의 상관관계를 논의할 것이다.

Suggestion of a Hybrid Method for Estimating Photovoltaic Power Generation (전력 IT 시스템에서 복합방식의 태양광 발전량 예측 방법 제안)

  • Needs for MG(Microgrid) development are increasing all over the world as a solution to the problems including the depletion problem of energy resources, the growing demand for electric power and the climatic and environmental change. Especially Photovoltaic power is one of the most general renewable energy resources. However there is a problem of the uniformity of power quality because the power generated from solar light is very sensitive to climate fluctuation (variation of insolation and duration of sunshine, etc). As a solution to the above problem, ESS(Energy Storage System) is considered generally, but it has some limitations. To solve this problem this paper suggests a hybrid estimation method of photovoltaic power generation according to two climatic factors, i.e. insolation and sunshine. This result seems to help design the appropriate capacity of ESS and estimate the proper switching time between DC and AC power in the premises power system and thus maintain the uniformity of power quality.
