The Influence of Display Type of PPL and Program Context on Advertising Attitude : Moderating Role of Previous Intrusiveness Perception (PPL 광고의 배치유형과 프로그램 상황이 광고태도에 미치는 영향: 사전 침입성 지각의 조절효과)

  • The objectives of this study are to examine the impact of display type and program condition on advertising attitude, and also to analyze the moderating effect of previous intrusiveness perception in such process. The results of empirical analysis are as follows. First, display type had no significant influence on advertising attitude. Second, the interaction effect of display type and program situation on advertising attitude was significant. Third, the interaction effect of display type and previous intrusiveness perception on advertising attitude was not significant. Fourth, the interaction effect of program situation and previous intrusiveness perception on advertising attitude was significant. Fifth, the interaction effect of display type, program situation, and previous intrusiveness perception on advertising attitude was not significant.

  • 본 논문에서는 모바일 환경의 상황 적응형 효율적인 광고운영 시스템 설계에 대하여 제안한다. 제안한 시스템은 광고공급자가 제작한 광고콘텐츠를 저장하고, 광고공급자와 광고소비자의 상황정보와 피드백 정보를 분석하여 맞춤형 광고 콘텐츠를 추천하여 제공한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 시스템은 광고콘텐츠와 광고 소비자의 선호도 및 성향에 따른 스마트한 광고 콘텐츠를 추천 및 제공하기 때문에, 스마트 미디어 시대를 맞이한 광고시장에 새로운 서비스 모델을 개발하는데 기여할 것으로 기대한다.

  • This study attempted to examine how Personalization Advertising and Customization Advertising strategies affect consumers' Aad among AI-based Programmatic Advertising strategies that have been actively conducted recently. To this end, the relationship between two advertising strategies, the transportation, the overall emotional experience that occurs when acting, and Aad was examined structurally. As a result of a survey of 110 general people, Personalization Advertising had a negative influence on consumers' transportation, and the Customization Advertising strategy had a positive influence. In addition, transportation had a positive influence on the Aad. These results suggest the needs to actively induce consumers into Customization advertising situation, rather than the company's mechanical analysis and exposure-oriented advertising strategy.

  • 광고 시장 / 채널은 새로운 매체로 전환이 급격히 빠른 분야이다. 과거 TV, 신문 등과 같은 전통적인 매스미디어에서, 현재는 인터넷 및 모바일 광고와 디지털 사이니지를 통한 옥외광고가 주를 이루고 있다. 이에 따라 지속적인 마케팅 패러다임의 변화, 광고시장 / 로봇(서비스형, 지능형) 시장의 성장세를 기반으로 디지털 사이니지와 이동로봇을 결합하여 광고효과를 극대화 시킬 수 있는 커뮤니케이션 마케팅 기반의 신개념 광고기기(Mobile Digital Signage Robot 이하 MDSR)를 제안한다. MDSR의 기본 목표는 로봇이 설정된 루트를 자동으로 이동하며 주변상황을 인지하여 상황에 맞는 광고를 노출시키는 데에 있다. 또한 사용자의 관심을 유도하는 인터랙티브 기능과, 커뮤니케이션 콘텐츠를 탑재하여 주위 사람들의 이목을 집중시키며, 광고노출빈도가 높아지고 흥미유발에 기여하여 광고효과를 극대화 시키고, 이용자 편의성을 제고시킨다. 본고에서는 마케팅 / 디지털 사이니지 / 로봇시장의 실태와 현황을 알아보고, MDSR개발을 위한 HW 필요 탑재부품의 성능정보 수집 및 평가, 로봇 이동제어 및 상황인지와 광고전환을 위한 핵심 SW 알고리즘 개발, 마케팅 전략 및 활용 시나리오, 기대효과 분석 등을 연구해 MDSR 제작 및 활용 방법 등을 살펴본다.

  • Smart phone allows advertisers to estimate customers behavior by selecting user context awareness information and gives users instant feed back about their behavior. Electronic equipments such as smart phone enable advertisers to advertise interesting product for each customers at the point of purchase. In this paper, we deal with the trends of Smart phone and internet based TV in the spotlight as the upcoming advertising media and propose the effective way of advertising, Smart Advertising model, which can give users advertising contents of their interesting product by collecting user context information from a variety of devices including N-screen in smart space. This model will induce modern people who live in flood of advertisements to buy products by providing interesting advertising contents.

  • The primary focus of Korea's advertisement policy has been on the securing of stability in the market through building categorical entry barriers whenever a new broadcaster came into the market. But the recent contraction of the advertisement market is pressing the policy makers to lift the categorical barriers to create one large-enough market. This change in the policy and the market, in turn, is triggering heightened competition among drama producers to get advertisements, at times, even at the expense of cost efficiency. The market is supposed to search for its own equilibrium in principle. This means that players, who fall behind, should be left to die out and exit, and the patient policy to let the market function on its own should be institutionalized. Separately, the fee-based public broadcasters should be banned from running advertisements.

The Effects of Endorsers' Gender on Ads and Product Attitude: Cross-cultural Perspective(Korea vs. Uzbekistan) (광고모델의 성별이 광고 태도와 제품 태도에 미치는 영향에 관한 비교문화적 연구: 한국 vs. 우즈베키스탄)

  • This study is a cross-cultural study examining whether differences in perceptions of social gender roles in Korea and Uzbekistan have different effects on ad attitudes and product attitudes through the endorsers' gender. In particular, this study was focused on the difference between the facial expression of the endorser and the moderating effect of the ad situation in these relationships. The research results are as follows. First, the difference in the perception of social gender roles was larger in Uzbekistan than in Korea. Second, the influence of gender of endorser on ad attitude was perceived to be higher in Uzbekistan than in Korea. Third, the moderating effect of facial expression(Placid vs. Cold) in the effect of gender of advertising model on advertising attitude was found only in Uzbekistan. Fourth, the moderating effect of the ad situation (Office work vs. Family life) in the relationship between the endorsers' Gender and ad attitude was also found only in Uzbekistan. Fifth, the effect of consumer's ad attitude on product attitude showed a statistically significant positive relationship in both countries. This study reveals that cultural differences in the masculinity (or femininity) dimension between Korea and Uzbekistan are also affecting the effectiveness of ads. Therefore, this study suggests that global marketers should consider not only the existing information source effects such as reliability, professionalism, and attractiveness, but also the gender, facial expression, and ad situation of the endorser according to cultural differences when selecting an ad model.

The Impact of Dispositional versus Situational Attributions on Consumer Responses to Noncelebrity Testimonial Advertising (기질적 귀인과 상황적 귀인이 비유명인 증언식 광고에 대한 소비자반응에 미치는 영향)

  • This research investigates the role of causal inferences about the endorser's motivation - specifically, dispositional versus situational attributions - and their impact on persuasion of noncelebrity testimonial advertisements. Based on the correspondent inference theory and the relevant literature, it is posited that consumers will generate predictable patterns of attributional responses to testimonial messages, which in turn will influence ad and brand evaluations. An experiment with 335 consumer panelists, after a pilot experiment with the college student sample, has been conducted. Results suggest the greater impact of dispositional attributions than situational attributions on persuasion of noncelebrity testimonial messages and general evocations of situational attributions regardless of the levels of endorser credibility and dispositional attributions. On the basis of the findings from this study, theoretical and practical implications are discussed, as are directions for future research.

Revisiting Effects of Endorsers' Race on Attitudes Toward Ad and Brand (광고 모델의 인종이 광고와 브랜드 태도형성에 미치는 영향에 대한 고찰)

  • As the Korean market is becoming increasingly diverse, it is imperative that marketers targeting the Korean market understand the consumers with various racial and cultural backgrounds. The current study investigated the effects of the endorser race (White vs. Black) on the attitudes toward the ad and brand while varying the experimental context (private vs. public) and product type (high involvement-rational vs. low involvement-emotional) with White participants. Impression management was included as a covariate. The results showed that when the endorser was White and the product was an automobile, participants indicated more positive attitudes toward the ad in the private context than in the public context. When the endorser was Black, the context had no significant effects on the attitudes. The implications of these findings for the Korean market are discussed.

The Effect of the Context Awareness Value on the Smartphone Adopter' Advertising Attitude (스마트폰광고 이용자의 광고태도에 영향을 미치는 상황인지가치에 관한 연구)

  • Advertising market has been facing new challenges due to dramatic change in advertising channels and the advent of innovative media such as mobile devices. Recent research related to mobile devices is mainly focused on the fact that mobile devices could identify users'physical location in real-time, and this sheds light on how location-based technology is utilized to achieve competitive advantage in advertising market. With the introduction of smartphone, the functionality of smartphone has become much more diverse and context awareness is one of the areas that require further study. This work analyses the influence of context awareness value resulted from the transformation of advertising channel in mobile communication market, and our research result reflects recent trend in advertising market environment which is not considered in previous studies. Many constructs has intensively been studied in the context of advertising channel in traditional marketing environment, and entertainment, irritation and information are considered to be the most widely accepted variables that has positive relationship with advertising value. Also, in smartphone advertisement, four main dimensions of context awareness value are recognized: identification, activity, timing and location. In this study, we assume that these four constructs has positive relationship with context awareness value. Finally, we propose that advertising value and context awareness value positively influence smartphone advertising attitude. Partial Least Squares (PLS) structural model is used in our theoretical research model to test proposed hypotheses. A well designed survey is conducted for college students in Korea, and reliability, convergent validity and discriminant validity of constructs and measurement indicators are carefully evaluated and the results show that reliability and validity are confirmed according to predefined statistical criteria. Goodness-of-fit of our research model is also supported. In summary, the results collectively suggest good measurement properties for the proposed research model. The research outcomes are as follows. First, information has positive impact on advertising value while entertainment and irritation have no significant impact. Information, entertainment and irritation together account for 38.8% of advertising value. Second, along with the change in advertising market due to the advent of smartphone, activity, timing and location have positive impact on context awareness value while identification has no significant impact. In addition, identification, activity, location and time together account for 46.3% of context awareness value. Third, advertising value and context awareness value both positively influence smartphone advertising attitude, and these two constructs explain 31.7% of the variability of smartphone advertising attitude. The theoretical implication of our research is as follows. First, the influence of entertainment and irritation is reduced which are known to be crucial factors according to previous studies related to advertising value, while the influence of information is increased. It indicates that smartphone users are not likely interested in entertaining effect of smartphone advertisement, and are insensitive to the inconvenience due to smartphone advertisement. Second, in today' ubiquitous computing environment, it is effective to provide differentiated advertising service by utilizing smartphone users'context awareness values such as identification, activity, timing and location in order to achieve competitive business advantage in advertising market. For practical implications, enterprises should provide valuable and useful information that might attract smartphone users by adopting differentiation strategy as smartphone users are sensitive to the information provided via smartphone. Also enterprises not only provide useful information but also recognize and utilize smarphone users' unique characteristics and behaviors by increasing context awareness values. In summary, our result implies that smartphone advertisement should be optimized by considering the needed information of smartphone users in order to maximize advertisement effect.
