Program Development for Provide Future Estimated Precipitation in the Youngjong Island (인천 영종도 지역의 장래 예측 강수제공 프로그램 개발)

  • 인천 영종도는 물부족 위험평가 분석을 위해 Smart Water Grid연구단에서 선정한 데모플랜트로섬으로 고립된 지역이다. 영종도는 공촌정수장으로부터 상수도를 공급받고 있으며 관로 파손 등의 사고가 발생할 경우 외부 수자원으로부터 수도를 공급 받기 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 상수도 공급의 어려움이 발생할 경우 대체 수자원을 활용한 가용수량 산정과 이를 적용하기 위한 물수급평가 프로그램이 영종도에 적용 될 예정이다. 본 연구에서는 물수급평가를 위해 수문분석의 기초자료인 장래 예측 강수량을 제공하는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 장래 강수예측자료는 기상청 기상예보와 기후변화시나리오를 활용하였으며 Visual Studio2013을 통해 강수제공 프로그램을 개발하였고, 데이터의 저장과 DB서버 연동을 위해 Oracle 프로그램이 이용되었다. 기상청에서는 3일, 10일, 1달, 3달로 기간을 구분하여 강수확률 예보를 제공하고 있기 때문에 3개월 이내의 중 단기 예측은 기상청에서 제공되는 기상확률예보를 사용하였고, 3개월 이후의 장기 예측은 RCP 8.5시나리오에 의한 일단위 강수량이 활용될 수 있도록 하였다. 기상청 확률예보의 경우 퍼센트 확률을 정량적 수치로 환산하여 일단위 강수량으로 변환하여 제공하였다. 연구를 통해 개발된 강수제공 프로그램에서는 영종도 지역 내 행정구역 별 면적평균강수량이 제공되며, 기후변화시나리오에 의한 강수데이터 취득 시 고해상도(1km 격자단위)로 추출이 가능하도록 하였다. 사용자는 위 경도 좌표에 따라 일 및 월 단위의 강수데이터를 텍스트 파일 형태로 취득할 수 있고, 프로그램 화면 내 표출되는 그래프를 통해 현재대비 장래 강수량 변화를 확인할 수 있도록 하였다. 향후 Smart Water Grid 연구성과로 개발된 물부족위험평가프로그램과 연동하여 물수급평가, 가용수량 산정 등에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 상수관망의 수질사고와 이상상황 발생시 대응을 위해서는 급수구역에 설치되어 있는 자동수질측정기, 정밀여과장치, 재염소주입설비, 자동드레인 등의 계측·제어설비들 간의 유기적인 정보공유를 통한 제어를 필요로 한다. 스마트 상수관망 운영플랫폼은 이러한 인프라 시설의 운영방안을 고려하여 분산되어 있는 계측데이터를 통합감시 및 제어하는 시스템으로 개발되었다. 상수관망 운영플랫폼은 능동형 분석 제어기술을 도입하여, 스마트 상수관망 인프라 설비를 최적제어할 수 있도록 구현하였다. 통합운영 플랫폼은 PostgreSQL, PostGIS, GeoServer, OpenLayers 등의 기술을 활용하여 개발하였다. 플랫폼은 계측감시, 시설관리, 운영제어 등의 기능으로 구성되며, 상수도 업무지원을 위한 관망해석 및 네트워크 분석 기능을 지원한다. 본 시스템은 스마트 상수도 구축사업을 통해 구축한 유량·수질모니터링 장비와 수질관리를 위해 도입된 재염소, 자동드레인 설비의 운영상태를 실시간 조회하는 모니터링 프로그램과, 관망해석 프로그램 그리고 대상설비의 최적제어를 위한 운영관리 프로그램으로 구성되어 있다. 모니터링 프로그램은 현장에서 측정되고 있는 유량, 수압, 수질, 펌프운전 등의 상태를 실시간으로 감시하고 클라우드 데이터베이스에 저장·관리하는 기능을 수행한다. 관망해석 프로그램은 EPA_Net모형과 연계되어 관망수리·수질해석을 수행하는 부분으로 재염소설비의 염소 추가주입이나 자동드레인을 통한 배제시 나타나게되는 관의 수리·수질변화를 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경에서 분석하고 결과를 가시화 하는 기능을 갖고 있다. 운영관리 프로그램은 재염소 주입이 필요할 경우 주입량의 산정하는 부분과 관망 파손이나 수질사고 발생시 최적 단수예상지역을 도출하는 기능을 보유하고 있다. 향후 스마트 상수관망의 능동형 수질관리를 추진하는 지자체에 도입하여 인프라운영관리 기술 확보 및 수질관리 능력 개선과 실시간 감시 및 위기 대응능력 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

Proposal and Performance Verification of a Seismic Adapter for Steel Brace Connections for In-plane Reinforcement of School Buildings (학교 건축물의 면내보강을 위한 강재브레이스 접합용 내진어댑터의 상세 제안 및 성능검증)

  • In this study, The details for a seismic adapter designed to easily connect concrete structures and reinforcement materials for the in-plane reinforcement of aged structures were proposed. Proposed seismic adapter was tested for performance using a dynamic simulation on a 2-story column-beam structure, scaled to half of the real size. The experimental results showed that the reinforced test specimens using the seismic adapter improved their energy dissipation capacity by 3.5 times compared to the non-reinforced specimens. It was confirmed that the seismic adapter experienced no damage within its general usage range, thus proving its effectiveness. Subsequently, upon loading until the limit of deformation (a deformation angle of 3.3%), it was observed that one of the M10 bolts connecting the adapter and the reinforcement at the lower part of the first floor broke. Considering this finding, when applying seismic retrofitting in real situations, emphasis should be placed on the design of the bolts and anchors connecting the seismic adapter. This aspect warrants further research for validation.

A Experimental Study on the Determination of Construction method of Controled Low-strength Material Accelerated Flow Ability Using Surplus Soil for Underground Power Line (지중송전관로용 급결 유동성 뒤채움재의 시공법 설정에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Compaction of backfill material of Underground power lines is difficult, especially under pipeline. so it could cause structural problem because of low compaction efficiency. So various methods have been taken to solve the problem and one of them is CLSM(Controled low-strength material accelerated flow ability). But In other countries, these are already in progress for a long time to research and development and recently on practical steps. But, in our country, study for only general structures, not for underground power line structure that is being constructed at night rapidly. In this study, we performed property tests and indoor & outdoor test (3 cases). The tests showed flow ability reached at the limit construction(160 mm) flowability by 9 to 15 minute after starting to mix, and construction buoyant is lowering after placing CLSM by 70 % of theoretical buoyant that is calculated by unit weight of material. In this paper, we performed indoor tests and outdoor tests to estimate mechanical properties and to suggest construction method(using batch plant, setting spacer at 1.8 m and placing at 2m) for CLSM that using surplus soil. And the test showed good results for construction quality, workability and structure safety.

Engineering Characteristics of Liquid Filler Using Marine Clay and In-situ Soil (해양점토와 현장토를 활용한 유동성 채움재의 공학적 특성)

  • The underground utilities installed under the ground is an important civil engineering structure, such as water supply and sewerage pipes, underground power lines, various communication lines, and city gas pipes. Such underground utilities can be exposed to risk due to external factors such as concentrated rainfall and vehicle load, and it is important to select and construct an appropriate backfill material. Currently, a method mainly used is to fill the soil around the underground utilities and compact it. But it is difficult to compact the lower part of the buried pipe and the compaction efficiency decreases, reducing the stability of the underground utilities and causing various damages. In addition, there are disadvantages such as a decrease in ground strength due to disturbance of the ground, a complicated construction process, and construction costs increase because the construction period becomes longer, and civil complaints due to traffic restrictions. One way to solve this problem is to use a liquid filler. The liquid filler has advantages such as self-leveling ability, self-compaction, fluidity, artificial strength control, and low strength that can be re-excavated for maintenance. In this study, uniaxial compression strength test and fluidity test were performed to characterize the mixed soil using marine clay, stabilizer, and in-situ soil as backfill material. A freezing-thawing test was performed to understand the strength characteristics of the liquid filler by freezing, and in order to examine the effect of the filling materials on the corrosion of the underground pipe, an electrical resistivity test and a pH test were performed.

  • In general, pipe laying works are performed by constructing underground facilities such as pipes and then refilling the rest of the area with sand or soil. However, there are many problems in the compaction process such as difficulties in tampering around the underground facility and low compaction efficiency. Such problems cause deformation and damage to the underground pipes during refilling work and ultimately cause road sinks. Construction methods using CLSM are one of the typical methods to solve these issues, and recently, studies on CLSM using coal ash, which has similar engineering properties as sand, have been actively performed to protect environment and recycle resources. While many studies have been conducted to recycle fly ash in many ways, the demand for recycling bottom ash is increasing as most of the bottom ash is not recycled and reclaimed at ash disposal sites. Therefore, in order to find bottom ash applications using eco-friendly soil binders that are environmentally beneficial and conform with CLSM standards, this study investigated flow characteristics and strength change characteristics of eco-friendly soil binders, weathered granite soil, a typical site-generated soil, bottom ash, and fly ash mixed soil and evaluated the soil pollution to present CLSM application methods using bottom ash.

A Study on Effects of Axial Gas Flow in the Gap and Fuel Cracking on Fission Gas Release under Power Ramping (출력 감발 조건하에서 핵분열 기체 생성물의 방출에 대한 축방향 기체 유동과 핵연료 파손의 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The fission gas release model used In the SPEAR-BETA fuel performance code was modified by use of effective thermal conductivity for cracked fuel and by laking Into account axial fission-gas mixing between the fuel-clad gap and the plenum. With use of this modified model the fission gas release was analyzed under various power ramping conditions of P$_{max}$ and $\Delta$.fP. Effective fuel thermal conductivity that accounts for the effect of fuel tracking was used in calculation of the fuel temperature distribution and the Internal gas pressure under power ramping conditions. Mixing and dilution effects due to axial gas flow were also considered in computing the width and the thermal conductivity of the gap. The effect of axial gas flow w3s solved by the Crank-Nicholson method. The finite difference method was used to save running time in the calculation. The present modified fission-gas release model was validated by comparing its predicted results with experimental data from various lamping tests In the literature and calculated results with use of the models used In the SPEAR-BETA and FEMAXI-IV codes. Results obtained with use of the present modified model showed better agreement with experimental data reported in the literature than those results with use of the latter codes. The fuel centerline temperature calculated with introduction of effective thermal conductivity for centerline temperature calculated with Introduction of effective thermal conductivity for cracked fuel was 200 higher fission gas release predicted with use of the modified model was nearly 6% larger on the average than that calculated by use of the unmodified model used in the SPEAR-BETA code.e SPEAR-BETA code.e.

Study on the Optimal Construction Method for the Compaction Method of Hydraulic Filling in Metropolitan Areas (도심지 물다짐 공법의 적정 시공방법에 관한 연구)

  • This paper suggests a proper hydraulic filling method in downtown areas. Road subsidence on roadways and sidewalks in downtown areas can result in vehicle damage and casualties. The representative cause of road subsidence is the fraudulent construction in nearby construction sites. A deficiency of excavation restoration causes approximately 25~49% of subsidence. This is performed by equipment or manpower. Hydraulic filling is used in backfilling narrow pipe conduits and spaces between structures. On the other hand, standard specifications and quality assurance standards regarding hydraulic filling principles and construction conditions are insufficient. Therefore, in-door model experiments on hydraulic filling principles, backfilling material, and compaction efficiency were performed. This paper suggests guidelines by investigating and analyzing construction status. In conclusion, thrown backfilling material has a particle size distribution and permeability coefficient as major factors, and detailed standards of the factors are suggested. To improve the compaction efficiency, 90% or more, compaction by the floor should be in units of 0.3m while ensuring a lower drainage layer. When an H-shape stabilizing pile is pulled out after filling, additional hydraulic filling should be in the disturbance range.

Development of Bag Rupturing Device with Octagonal Rotating Blade Drums for MSWs (생활계(生活系) 폐기물(廢棄物) 봉투(封套) 파봉을 위한 회전(回傳)칼날팔각(八角)드럼식(式) 파봉장치(裝置) 개발(開發)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • Recyclable wastes coming into material recovery facilities(MRFs) is mostly packed by plastic bag or sack bag. Bag rupturing device is essential to improve capacity and efficiency of MRFs. Bag opening works of MRFs is mostly done by numerous workers and shredder-type bag rupturing device. It often makes a problems; decreased capacity, shredded recyclables, worker safety by explosion and broken glasses, etc. In the present work, bag rupturing device with octagonal rotating blade drums has been developed to solve the existing problems and environment assessment is also performed during operation of the device. Capacity of the device was about 5.6 ton/hr at 8.2 rpm of drum revolution speed and 1.25 m/min of belt conveyor speed. It satisfied initial designed capacity(5.0 ton/hr) and max. capacity 8.8 ton/hr was achieved at 12.5 rpm of drum revolution speed and 1.50m/min of belt conveyor speed. Bag rupturing efficiencies on outer and inner bag were obtained at 100% and about 95.6% as average, respectively and original form of glass bottles in the bag was maintained without broken by about 96.5%. This result shows that the safety in hand sorting by the workers could be improved. As result of environmental assessment on the noise, vibration and particulates, the measured levels on noise, vibration and particulates show the below standard regulatory limits. It could be concluded that the problems of existing devices in MRFs could be solved by adopting the bag rupturing device with octagonal rotating blade drums in on-site operation.

Acceleration Test Method for Failure Prediction of the End Cap Contact Region of Sodium Cooled Fast Reactor Fuel Rod (소듐냉각 고속로 연료봉단의 접촉부 손상예측을 위한 가속시험 방법)

  • This paper reports the results of an acceleration test to predict the contact-induced failure that could occur at the cylinder-to-hole joint for the fuel rod of a sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR). To incorporate the fuel life of the SFR currently under development at KAERI (around 35,000 h), the acceleration test method of reliability engineering was adopted in this work. A finite element method was used to evaluate the flow-induced vibration frequency and amplitude for the test parameter values. Five specimens were tested. The failure criterion during the life of the SFR fuel was applied. The S-N curve of the HT-9, the material of concern, was used to obtain the acceleration factor. As a result, a test time of 16.5 h was obtained for each specimen. It was concluded that the $B_{0.004}$ life would be guaranteed for the SFR fuel rods with 99% confidence if no failure was observed at any of the contact surfaces of the five specimens.
