Chitinase Activity and Textural Property of Leek Added Kimchi During Fermentation (부추첨가 김치의 발효과정 중 chitinase 활성과 조직감)

  • Several ingredients of kimchi including chinese cabbage, garlic, leek, big green onion, and small green onion were assayed for their chitinase activities. Kimchi with various leek contents (4, 8, 12%) were fermented at 15$^{\circ}C$ for 9 days and the chitinase (EC 3.2.1.14) activity and textural properties were determined. The chitinase activity of the ingredients was in the order of garlic>leek>small green onion>chinese cabbage>big green onion. During fermentation, the chitinase activity of kimchi juice appeared more prominent than that of kimchr tissue, however, it was decreased in all kimchi samples among which the control sample showed a remarkable drop. The activity of chitinase in kimchi tissue increased until 3rd or 5th day of fermentation and then decreased. The puncture force of all kimchi samples decreased and those of leek-added kimchi were higher than those of control. The above results suggested that the addition of leek for kimchi preparation could contribute to the improvement of textural qualities of kimchi due to chitinase activities of leek during fermentation.

  • 치아 스케일링은 치아에 단단하게 결착된 치석을 제거하는 치과 시술로서 치아 우식 및 잇몸염증을 예방하는 중요한 시술이다. 특히 요즘에는 치료시간의 단축을 통한 효율성 증대의 목적으로 전기적 에너지를 미세한 진동에너지로 바꾸는 원리를 활용한 초음파 스케일링 기법이 많이 행해지고 있다. 하지만 치아 및 치석 확보에 따른 어려움으로 인해 스케일링 시술을 충분히 훈련하기란 쉽지 않다. 본 논문에서는 사용자가 가상현실을 통해 시각 및 촉각 피드백을 받으며 초음파 스케일링 시술을 훈련할 수 있는 치아 스케일링 시뮬레이션을 위한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 치아, 치석 및 잇몸의 볼륨모델과 스케이러 팁을 구성하는 각 부문의 관통깊이를 이용한 햅틱 랜더링 기법을 적용하여 스케일러의 모양에 따른 햅틱 피드백을 생성하였다. 그리고 치아의 손상을 줄이기 위해 스케일러의 팁 부문이 치아 표면에 되도록 평형을 이루어야 한다는 점에 입각하여, 치석을 구성하는 복셀들의 치아 디스턴스필드 값 비교를 통해 치석과 치아 사이의 접착면을 추출하고 스케일러의 팁 부분과 충돌하는 추출된 집착면의 각도를 고려한 스케일링 알고리즘을 구현하였다. 또한 수동 스케일링과는 달리 초음파 스케일링은 초음파의 진동에너지에 의해 점진적으로 치아와 치석 사이의 결속력이 감소된다는 점에 착안하여 치아와 치석의 접착면을 구성하는 지점 사이의 거리에 따른 결속력 감쇠 모델을 고안하였다.

  • Magnetic force calculation methods such as Maxwell stress, virtual work principle, equivalent magnetic charge, and equivalent magnetizing current are widely used until now. The force density is still controversial issue even though it is common sense that all of these methods have legitimate results. The surface force densities of each method are quite different with each other in the point of numerical result and final expression. In this paper, it is shown that a unified expression of body force density is derived using virtual air-gap scheme for an analytic model in which cylindrical magnetic material with a vertical current runs through its center.

  • The crossing construction under railroad have two methods which are cut and cover and trenchless method. first, cut and cover method is an extremely limited method concerning non-running time. Whereas, trenchless method is free from restriction such as train speed and running time, and has the strong points of safe and rapid construction. Front Jacking method, one of the trenchless methods, is frequently applied recently due to its stability during construction and vantage of assuring schedule reliability. The procedure is that after minimizing interlocking friction with structure and earth pressure due to jacking the small steel tube, pulling the precast box manufactured at the field in the ground using PC strand and hydraulic Jack. This method is able to be applied regardless of section size and length of box and condition of ground. And that is also pro-environmental. This paper presents the case of Daejeon E. W. perforate Road Project applied with the Front Jacking method.

Performance Evaluation of Softwood Plywood as Structural and Concrete-Form Panels (침엽수 합판의 구조용 및 콘크리트 거푸집용으로서의 성능 평가)

  • In present research, the plywoods made of radiata pine or Japanese larch, the potential softwood species in mass supply, were discussed to examine their feasibility as the structural and concrete form panels through the basic properties test. First, plywood qualities and its nail performance were tested. The performance test for concrete form or structural panel by concentrated and uniformly distributed load were conducted to investigate the possibility as structural material for light frame and concrete constructions. Test results of basic quality such as specific gravity, cupping, bowing, and twisting appeared to satisfy the criteria for structural use. Also, nail performance test results, for roof and wall sheathing panels, nail lateral resistance, nail withdrawal resistance, and nail push head resistance proved to meet the required standard for structural use. The test results on performance as structural panel by concentrated and uniformly distributed load and as concrete form panel showed that these two species could be used for structural sheathing, subfloor, and concrete form panels.

Seismic Performance of Precast Beam-Column Joints with Thru-Connectors (관통형 연결재로 연결된 PC 보-기둥 맞댐 접합의 내진성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Precast beam column joints with thru-connectors are developed from precedent study. The seismic performance is evaluated by experimental method. The test results of the precedent study showed that failure modes for all specimens were a compression failure by characteristics of unbonded tendon. Thus, variable considered in the research program for a tensile failure include the use of dog-boned longitudinal steel and concrete confined with steel spirals. The analysis of structural characteristics and evaluation of seismic performance of specimens was conducted by the experimental way. Comparison of result with the test specimens indicates that seismic performance is higher than the precedent study due to concrete confinement effect from steel spirals.

  • The kill probability of a missile depends on guidance error, warhead performance, and etc. In this paper, we analyzed the kill probability of anti-tank missile in a new approach. Under the condition that the missile hit the target, we studied the effect of angle of attack and impact angle. High impact angle increase the probability that the missile hits the upper armour which is relatively weaker, while high angle of attack at the impact instant decreases the effectiveness of the jet induced by the warhead. We proposed a way to increase the capability of penetration by analyzing the interrelation between impact angle and angle of attack.
