Analyzing the Cultural Differences of Control Stereotypes in Operating Water Taps for Facilitating Convenience and Safety (편리성과 안전성 제고를 위한 급수전(給水栓) 작동 스테레오타입에 대한 문화적 차이 분석)

  • 본 연구는 급수전('tap'과 'faucet'은 호환사용)의 종류에 따른 사용자의 조작방향에 대해 우리나라와 다른 나라의 문화적인 차이를 비교한 연구결과이다. 이를 위하여 우리들이 가정과 공공시설의 화장실이나 욕실 등에서 많이 사용하고 있는 냉 온수 일체형 레버형 손잡이 급수전과 냉 온수 분리형 손잡이 급수전을 선정하여 이의 열림 방향에 대한 스테레오타입을 파악하였다. 또한 본 실험결과와 다른 문화권의 자료를 비교하여 이의 차이를 규명함으로써 서로 다른 사용자들이 공감하는 설계방향에 대해 언급하였다. 국외 자료는 연구문헌을 참조하였으며 국내자료는 직접 10대에서 60대 이상까지 6개 연령계층의 남 여 50명씩 총 600명을 할당표본추출 방식으로 선정하여 실험을 통하여 수집하였다. 조사 결과는 각 항목별로 통합 자료, 성별, 연령별, 주손에 따라 빈도분석을 실시하였으며 카이제곱검정을 통해 성별, 연령계층별, 주손(hand dominance)별로 스테레오타입의 기대특성(expectation characteristics)에 대해 문헌을 통해 조사된 연구결과와 상호비교 분석하였다. 분석결과 우리나라 사람은 비교 분석된 다른 나라 사람과 같이 스테레오타입에 대한 통상적인(그러나 동일하진 않음) 문화적인 배경을 공유하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구결과는 급수전 손잡이 설계에 있어서 서로 다른 문화적인 배경에 따른 보편적 기대와 일치된 설계지침으로서 사용상의 편리성과 안전성을 향상시키는데 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것이다.

Relation among Compassion Fatigue and Burnout in Hospital Nurses (종합병원 간호사의 공감피로와 소진과의 관련성)

  • Purpose. The purposed of this study was done to identify correlates and variables predicting burnout among hospital nurses. Methods. The participants were 172 nurses working in hospital nurses in D and P, K cities. Data on compassion fatigue and burnout were collected via questionnaire between May 2011 and July 2011. Data analysis was done with PASW 18.0 program and included one-way ANOVA, independent t-test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Result. Compassion fatigue of participants in this study were shown to have high levels (compassion fatigue: M=58.34/115, SD=12.85). Burnout of participants in this study were shown to have poor levels (burnout: M=30.73/85, SD=6.84). The burnout by nurses was positively to compassion fatigue(r=.482, p<.000). The variables predicting burnout were compassion fatigue, total period of nursing job, nursing part and job period of present part. These factors accounted for 31%((F=20.39, p<.000) of the variance of burnout in hospital nurses. Conclusion. The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to reduce compassion fatigue and to encourage compassion satisfaction among hospital nurses.

A Study on the Relationships of Mother's Empathy in Mother-Child Play with Parenting Stress and with Other Variables (놀이상황에서 보이는 어머니의 공감적 행동과 양육스트레스 및 관련 변인에 대한 연구)

  • This study was performed to clarify which variables affected a mother‘s empathic behavior shown in a mother-child play session. Mother’s empathy was videotaped and recorded during mother-child twenty minute play sessions. The variables considered in the research were the mother‘s parenting stress, age and education level, and the child’s sex and birth order. Twenty four mothers volunteered to participate in this study. The age of their children was restricted to 5 years. The results were as follows; First, mothers were verbally more accepting to their second or third child, and allowed their second of third child to lead more than their first child. And older mothers were more likely to accept their children's lead. Seconds, the mothers' parenting stress for acceptance of their children and stress of depression were higher in college graduate mothers than high school graduate mothers. Third, the mother's empathy and level of parenting stress did not show any significant relationships.

  • The study aims at verifying the parents' and children's changing process while using parents' play therapy in parent education program to improve the relationship between parents and their children. The experimental group consisted of 42 mothers who have preschoolers in the age range of 3-5, and was compared with the control group of 42 mothers. They joined together a series of 8 sessions (2 hours? or 16 hours?) once a week and took pre- and post-test. All of the sessions were recorded with a VCR camera. All the changing process the mothers showed was analyzed qualitatively to see what happened to the mothers and their children by the methods of coding, taxonomic analysis, critical events, componential analysis, and casual chain analysis suggested by Spradley(1980). The analyses showed that the mothers who participated in the program come to take more sympathetic, receptive attitudes to their children, while the children get better in the children's emotional behavioral problems in the qualitative analysis as well as the quantitative analysis.

Effect of a Spiritual Care Empowerment Program on Psychological Empowerment of Nursing Students (영적 간호임파워먼트 프로그램이 간호대학생의 심리적 임파워먼트에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to test the effects of a spiritual care empowerment (SCE) program on the psychological empowerment for nursing students. Methods: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The participants were 80 nursing students (41 in the experimental and 39 in the control group) recruited from the D and S universities. The SCE program used in this study was developed based on the Zimmerman's Psychological Empowerment Model. The experimental group attended 9 sessions of a SCE program. Sessions were 90 minutes each, held twice per week for 5 weeks. Data were analyzed using Chi-square, Fisher's exact test, and t-test using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: Intrapersonal (self esteem and existential well-being), interactional (empathy), and behavioral (spiritual care competence) components were significantly improved in the experimental group after the intervention compared to the control group. Conclusion: The results show that the SCE program could be effective in improving the psychological empowerment of nursing students. Accordingly, the SCE program would be applied to the nursing curriculum that enhances students' psychological empowerment.

Effects of dental hygiene student's adult attachment type on depression, self-esteem, empathy and career decision (치위생과 학생의 성인애착유형이 우울, 자아존중감, 공감능력과 진로결정에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the importance of healthy attachment formation by examining the effects of dental hygiene students' adult attachment patterns on depression, self-esteem, empathy, and career choice, and to present basic data for career guidance that considers individual characteristics. Students enrolled in the dental hygiene department at a university in Daejeon were the subjects of this study, and data were collected from September 14 to October 14, 2020 through self-reported questionnaires. Frequency analysis, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed. As a result of classifying adult attachment styles into three types, out of a total of 158 people, 62 (39.2%) had the avoidant attachment style, 56 (35.4%) had the secure attachment style, and 40 (25.3%) had the anxious-ambivalent attachment style appear. Self-esteem according to attachment type (F=26.224, p<0.0001), empathy (F=3.944, p<0.05), depression (F=12.702, p<0.0001), career indecisiveness (F=4.367, p<0.05). Based on the results of identifying the sub-factors that affect the dental hygiene and adult attachment styles of students with depression, self-esteem, empathy and career choice, this study intends to use them as reference materials for career decision taking into account individual characteristics.

The Structural Relationships among Maternal Reflective Function, Preschoolers' Empathy, Executive Functions, and Caring Behaviors (어머니의 반영기능과 유아의 공감능력, 실행기능, 배려행동 간의 구조적 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationships among mothers' reflective function, preschoolers' empathy, executive function, caring behaviors. Subjects for this study were 498 preschoolers and their mothers. Mothers' reflective function was assessed by the Parental Reflective Functioning Questionnaire(PRFQ). Preschoolers' empathy was assessed by the Questionnaire of Cognitive and Affective Empathy(QCAE). Preschoolers' executive function was assessed by the Behavioral Rating Inventory of Executive Functions-Preschool Version(BRIEF-P), and caring behaviors were assessed by the caring behaviors scale(Kim, 2015). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis(CFA), and structural equation model(SEM) with the SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0 program. The major results of this study were as follows. First, mothers' reflective function showed direct effects on preschoolers' empathy, executive function, and caring behaviors. Second, the preschoolers' empathy and executive function showed direct effects on preschoolers' caring behaviors. Third, preschoolers' empathy mediated the effects of mothers' reflective function on preschoolers' caring behaviors. The findings of this study will contribute to designing intervention programs to improve preschoolers' empathy, executive function, and caring behaviors.

  • 천문학은 시간적·공간적 규모가 크기 때문에 학습자의 수준에 따라 공감과 이해의 정도에 차이가 크다. 2015 개정 과학과 교육과정에 따르면 초등학교 5학년부터 태양계에 대한 내용을 다루고 있다. 하지만 이를 설명하기 위한 교과서의 사진과 동영상 자료는 태양계를 명확하게 전달하기 어렵다. 이에 대한 대안으로 3D Modeling을 통한 체험 교육을 제안한다. 천문학 교과에서 3D Modeling의 적용은 학생들의 흥미, 태도의 향상 등 교육적 효과의 상승으로 이어진다. 이에 본 연구에서는 3D Modeling의 도구 중 3D 프린터와 레이저 절단기를 이용해 융합교육(STEAM) 프로그램을 개발하고 학생들에게 적용하여 창의적 문제해결능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한다. 초등학교 교육과정에 제시된 태양계 관련 학습자료를 분석하였고, 융합교육(STEAM)에서 제안하는 상황제시, 창의적 설계, 감성적 체험의 교육단계 중 '창의적 설계' 단계에 3D 프린터와 레이저 절단기를 통해 개발한 kit를 이용하여 융합교육(STEAM) 프로그램에 적용하였다. 개발된 프로그램을 형식 교육의 장에 적용하여 개발된 평가지표를 토대로 사전·사후 평가를 실시한다. 향후 3D Modeling을 초등학교 교육과정뿐만 아니라 중·고등학교 교육과정 또한 분석하여 적용한다면, 천문대중화를 위해 큰 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

An Analysis on Perception of Mothers about Career for Elementary Science-Gifted Children (초등과학영재 어머니들의 자녀 진로에 대한 인식 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to try to structuralize the perception of the mothers of science-gifted elementary students using the concept mapping approach. The mothers who participated in this research had children who were 5th and 6th graders selected as science-gifted by a regional education office, a science high school and two national universities in a city. One of the authors interviewed 26 mothers, and extracted 50 general statements of their perceptions about the career path of their children. Ten mothers who participated in interviews sorted a shuffled pack of statement cards. The categorization of the statements into the dissimilarity matrix was carried out by SPSS multidimensional scaling analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis to generate a conceptual diagram. After that 140 mothers rated each statement using a Likert-type response scale from one to five. The result showed six clusters of parental views such as were 'Burden of private education, grades and going to the next grade,' 'Thinking about career guidance in gifted education and school,' 'Parental roles in child career education,' 'Difficulties in career guidance at home,' 'Demand for strengthening the parental capacity for career guidance,' and 'Demand for social support.' 'Demand for social support' obtained the highest sympathy from mothers of elementary science gifted.

A Study on the Critical Viewpoint of Elementary School Teachers for Science Class (초등학교 교사의 과학 수업 비평관점에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, class criticism by elementary school teachers was analyzed on the subject of science classes by beginner teachers. And then the viewpoints and characteristics of the class criticism were investigated. Teachers for class criticism consisted of six members, including two each of low- and high-career teachers. The viewpoints were analyzed in comparison with all the teachers. The subject of class criticism was 'Activity of leaves in plants', which is in the seventh unit of the science textbook for fifth grade elementary students of the first semester. The result of this study was as follows. Teachers criticized the science class mainly with three codes of viewpoints: motivation, inquiry focused on student, and summary of the results, where viewpoints consisted of 18 codes. They criticized the class by factors on a standard checklist and their criticism was characterized by partial situation and context. Low-career teachers criticized the class with the viewpoint in sympathy with the beginner teachers and criticized the class with the viewpoint of recollecting their teaching experience as beginners. While high-career teachers criticized the class mainly overall situations rather than specific matters. The result of this study can be used as basic data for a program of professional development and teacher education for science classes.
