Malfunction Analysis when a EFV is Working (과류차단 밸브 작동 시 오작동에 대한 분석)

  • Currently, the government has been expanding the supply of semi-low-pressure in order to solve the problems of unsupplied area of city gas and to secure the economical efficiency of small supplied area. It is mainly supplied from the central storage tank to each household by buried piping. It is necessary to provide such a shutoff valve that can block the excess flow gas due to pipeline leak or rupture when piping is damaged by other construction. For this study, System CFD code named Flownex has been used and a component corresponding to the actual EFV was developed. We compared Flownex results with experimental data to verify the accuracy of Flownex and confirmed the error rate to be around 2%. In this study, pipeline network modeling was done by selecting the LPG supply pipeline in a village and installed the component of the EFV at each junction. We selected the longest pipeline from the main pipeline and set scenarios so that the excess flow occurs by that the pipeline is ruptured before entering the household. The excess flow occurs by the pipeline rupture and the EFV is closed. At this time, we analyzed backflow effects to the other pipeline by closing EFV.

  • 핵과류는 7$\cdot$8월에 신선한 생과실을 제공해 줄 뿐만 아니라 가공품으로서 년중 공급되는 중요 과실이다. 우리나라의 핵과류 재배면적은 17,000여ha로 사과 밀감 다음으로 크며, 과수전체 면적의 15$\%$를 차지하고 있는 실정으로 생산량은 약 20만 톤에 이른다(원시, 1987). 또 핵과류는 통조림 주스 등으로 11,700톤이 생산되는데 전체 과실통조림과 넥타의 32$\%$를 충당하고 있다. 복숭아 및 기타 핵과류에 발생하는 병의 종류는 모두 24종이 알려져 있으나 병원균의 종류에 따라서는 중복해서 기생하는 것이 있으므로 17종의 병원균에 의해서 병이 발생된다(한식보, 1986). 그 동안 복숭아의 재배방법 중 크게 바뀌고 있는 것은 무대재배(無袋栽培) 및 시설재배 면적의 증가와 재배품종의 변화 등을 들 수 있다. 무대재배로 인해서 발생이 증가되는 것은 세균성구멍병, 검은점무늬병, 잿빛무늬병 및 탄저병 등으로 품질저하 현상으로 나타난다. 시설재배와 관련되는 것은 흰가루병과 잿빛곰팡이병이다.

  • 본 연구에서는 현재 일반가정이나 영업소에서 사용중인 액화석유가스 용기용밸브의 문제점을 제시하고, L.P 가스사고를 예방할 수 있는 LPG용 과류밸브의 과류차단장치를 개발${\cdot}$제작함에 있어 고압가스 안전관리기준 통합고시 ${\lceil}$제12장 4절 과류차단형 액화석유가스 용기용밸브${\rfloor}$에서 규정한 과류차단 성능시험을 실시하는데 필요한 여러 가지 변수를 선정하여 차단장치의 형상에 따른 최적의 차단 유량 범위를 찾고자 실험을 실시하였으며, 보다 궁극적으로는 일반 용기용밸브가 가진 문제점을 조속히 해결하고 진정한 의미의 안전밸브를 개발하는데 목적이 있다.

Measurement of dental caries activity of commercial frozen desserts in Korea (국내 시판 빙과류의 치아우식 활성 위험도 측정)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the sugar content, acidity, and viscosity of the Korean frozen desert. Methods: A total of 60 types of frozen desserts marketed in Korea were randomly selected and classified into frozen desserts, milk-fat ice cream group, and non-fat ice cream group according to the classification criteria for frozen desserts. Each product was treated under the same conditions to investigate the component of each product, and sugar content, acidity, and viscosity were measured. Frequency analysis and one-way ANOVA were performed. Results: As a result of analyzing the characteristics related to dental caries activity by group, the frozen dessert had the lowest average pH of 3.67, and the sugar content was significantly higher in the milk-fat group (33.22) and non-fat group (32.89) than in the frozen dessert. The viscosity was also the highest in the milk-fat group at 32.62, and the frozen dessert was significantly lower at 9.42. Conclusions: Due to the abnormal temperature and spread of the coronavirus, consumption of frozen desserts at home is on the rise. To prevent dental caries in children, education is needed for children and their guardians for proper oral care after eating frozen desserts.

Development of Performance Test Procedure for the Excess Flow Valve for Buried Piping for the Domestic LPG Mass Supply System (국내 LPG 집단공급시설 환경에 적합한 매몰배관용 과류차단밸브 성능시험 절차 개발)

  • Since 2014, the Korean government has begun distributing LPG pipelines and LPG tankers to mountainous or island areas where it is difficult to open urban gas supply chains. When installing LPG supply facilities at village level and county level, it supplied consumers with 10 times higher quasi-low pressure (25 kPa to 100 kPa) than conventional gas supply pressure, increasing the risk of gas accident. Due to the pressure that is 10 times higher than the conventional gas supply pressure, large amounts of gas are released at a faster rate when leaked. In order to secure safety of quasi-low-pressure gas pipes, excess flow valves for quasi-low-pressure gas pipes are not developed and are not supplied in Korea. Therefore, Korea Gas Safety Corporation is investigating the performance standards and products of the excess flow valves in order to localize the excess flow valves.

A Study on the Development of Overflow Cutoff Valve for Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinders (액화석유가스 용기용 과류차단밸브의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This research is about overflow cutoff valve for liquefied petroleum gas cylinders. This valve was developed based on Bernoulli's equation and Newton's equation. The structure of overflow cutoff valve was made by insert module instead of the ordinary valve that is used at present. Recently, the increase in use of gas for fuel in houses has resulted to more frequent occurrences of gas related accidents. In Korea, the government has made a law for the obligatory use of the cutoff valves. This cutoff valve is not ya developed. This research focuses on the use of over flow cutoff valve for LPG cylinders. If this valve is adapted, many accidents can be prevented.

Exposure Assessment of Microbiological Risk Factors from Edible Ices (빙과류의 미생물학적 위해요소에 대한 노출평가)

  • The aim of this study was to determine exposure assessment of pathogenic bacteria in edible ices by using the monitoring data from the previous study. According to the results of exposure assessment of edible ices contaminated with S. aureus, the contamination level of S. aureus in raw materials was higher than other foodborne pathogens, and the contamination level of S. aureus in mixed samples increased much before sterilization. The most significant reduction in contamination level was observed in mixed samples after sterilization, thus, the contamination levels in frozen final products was less than that of raw materials. Overall, the possibility for the infection of foodborne bacteria from the intake of edible ices per person per day was ranged from minimum $5.89{\times}10^{-7}$ to maximum $5.01{\tims}10^{-5}$. For more realistic estimates, consumption of edible ices and dose-response model must be studied further.

Analysis of Tar Color Content in Children's Favorite Foods (어린이 선호식품 중의 타르색소 함량 분석)

  • This study was carried out to research the use of tar colors in children's favorite foods such as candies, soft drinks, chewing gums, cereals, and ice bars in order to acquire basic data on food safety. The tar colors were simultaneously analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The contents of tar colors in candies, soft drinks, gums, cereals, and ice bars were maximum 74.10 mg/100 g, 5.96 mg/100 g, 35.70 mg/100 g, 20.10 mg/100 g, and 4.93 mg/100 g, respectively. In addition, every tar colors except for Indigo carmine (B2) and Fast Green FCF (G3) among permitted tar colors were used in foods and more than two kinds of tar colors were used in most cases. From the results, only types of tar colors for foods were regulated, but the amount was not regulated.
