The convergence study of smartphone overuse on cyberbullying : Focusing on mediating effects of aggression (스마트폰 과다사용이 사이버불링에 미치는 영향에 대한 융합 연구 : 공격성의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to ascertain the mediating effects of aggression in high school students' relationship with smartphone overuse and cyberbullying. Data were collected from 328 high school students in K city using self-report questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. The results show that cyberbullying has a positive correlation with smatrphone overuse(r=.321, p<.001) and aggression(r=.397, p<.001). Smartphone overuse had a direct effect on aggression(${\beta}=.195$, p=.014) and aggression had a direct effect on cyberbullying(${\beta}=.260$, p=.007). In addition, the mediation effects of aggression on the relationship between smartphone overuse and cyberbullying were confirmed(${\beta}=.051$, p=.007). In order to reduce cyberbullying in high school students, it will be necessary to develop cyber ethical awareness education programs to reduce aggression as well as regulations on excessive use of smartphones.

An Exploratory Study on Effects of Loneliness and YouTube Addiction on College Life Adjustment in the Distance Education During COVID-19 (코로나19 원격 교육에서 외로움과 유튜브 과다사용이 대학생활적응에 미치는 영향에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations of loneliness and YouTube addiction on college life adjustment of college students in the distance education during COVID-19 environment. In order to accomplish this purpose, this study built a research model that viewed how loneliness and YouTube addiction work together to explain college life adjustment such as social adjustment, academic adjustment. This study was conducted an online survey and applied 95 survey data to the final analysis. Structural equation model was used to analyze the data. The results of this study are summarized as followings. First, loneliness has negative effects on both social adjustment and academic adjustment. Second, YouTube addiction has a negative effect on social adjustment. In conclusion, loneliness and YouTube addiction are the significant predictor for the college life adjustment. Implications for practice are discussed.

The mediating effect of self-efficacy on the relationship between university life stress and smartphone overuse (대학생활 스트레스와 스마트폰 과다사용 간의 관계에서 자기효능감의 매개효과 분석)

  • This study is a descriptive correlation that attempts to determine the mediating effect of self-efficacy on the relationship between university life stress and smartphone overuse. A total of 201 university students attending universities within Jeonbuk were evaluated using self-reported questionnaires from April 10 to May 10, 2017. The demographic characteristics, university life stress, self-efficacy, and smartphone overuse were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis. The difference in smartphone overuse by demographic characteristics was analyzed by t-tests and ANOVA with Scheffe's post hoc test, and the correlation between variables was evaluated by Pearson's correlation coefficient. The mediating effect of self-efficacy was the 3-step multiple regression statistics of Baron and Kenny, and the statistical significance of the mediating effect was analyzed by the Sobel test. Self-efficacy had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between university life stress and smartphone overuse. In addition, the risk of smartphone overuse increased among university freshmen, with many using smartphones for more than 4 or 6 hours per day. The result of this study are expected to be useful as basic data for the development of a program to prevent excessive smartphone use by university students.

The Influence of Excessive Use of Smartphone on School Adaptation of Among Adolescents: Mediating Effects of Social Support and Self-control (청소년의 스마트폰 과다사용이 학교적응에 미치는 영향: 사회적 지지와 자기통제력을 매개변수로)

  • The purpose of this study is to systematically analyze through structural relationship analysis the relationship between excessive smartphone use by adolescents and school adaption. A questionnaire was administered to 866 elementary, middle and high school students who are using smartphones SEM was applied to the analysis with the following results. First, the relationship between excessive smartphone use and school adaptation was not significant. Second, the relationship between social support and excessive smartphone use had significant influence. Third, there is a significant influence in the relationship between self-control and excessive smartphone use. Fourth, social support and self-control of adolescents had a direct influence on school adaptation. Fifth, social support and self-control mediate the relationship between smartphone overuse and school adaptation. Therefore, increasing the adaptability of adolescents requires efforts to firm social support system by expanding autonomous sense or self-control personally and mutual support in the family.

Comparing the Mobile-phone Overuse by Gender and School Levels (성별과 학교급에 따른 휴대전화 과다사용의 차이)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences of the mobile phone overuse by gender and school levels. For this study, 565 middle and high school students in Gyeonggi province answered the self-report survey, 253 students were extracted as an overuse group, and the data were analyzed by one-way MANOVA. The results showed that 'daily disturbance' was a common major factor in gender and school level difference and 'school life disturbance', 'with draw' and 'tolerance' were added in school level difference. Based on the results, this study suggested users' characteristics such as gender and school level should be taken into prevention and treatment of mobile phone overuse.

Relation between Motivations of Using Smartphone and Its Overuse in Health College Students (보건계열 대학생의 스마트폰 이용 동기와 과다사용 간의 관계)

  • This study was to examine the influential factors of smartphone overuse in health college students. The subjects of this study were randomly selected from the departments of Emergency Medical Technology, Physical Therapy and Health Administration at G College in G metropolitan city and 250 subjects were sampled. After explaining the purposes of the research from Oct. 22 to 25, 2012 and obtaining their consent to take part in the research, structured self-administered questionnaire was given and examined. Final 223 data were collected and used for analysis with SPSS 12.0 for Window. To sum up the results of the research, it was confirmed that the motives of using smartphone were highest in entertainment and leisure on withdrawal of overuse sub-factors, ostentation and trend on tolerance, entertainment and leisure on compulsion and obsession, ostentation and trend on life inconvenience and side-effects, and entertainment and leisure throughout its overuse motives. Therefore, development and application of preventive education programs on overuse smartphone use with health college students are urgently required and practical personal counseling and management for overuse smartphone users should be conducted.

The Convergence Influence of excessive smartphone use on attention deficit, learning environment, and academic procrastination in health college students (보건계열 대학생의 스마트폰 과다사용이 주의력결핍, 학습환경, 학업지연행동에 미치는 융합적 영향)

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate the convergence influence of excessive smartphone use on attention deficit, learning environment, and academic procrastination in health college students. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 255 college students in Busan drom March 6 to June 12, 2017. The degree of smartphone overuse, lack of attention, learning environment, and academic procrastination according to smartphone use characteristics showed significant effects on the time spent on smartphones per day, awareness of smartphone addiction, and personal use of smartphones during class time (p<0.001). It was shown that smartphone overuse was positively correlated with attention deficit (r=0.870, p<0.01), learning environment (r=0.812, p<0.01), academic procrastination (r=0.772, p<0.01), and attention deficit showed a positive relationship with learning environment (r=0.918, p<0.01) and academic procrastination (r=0.798, p<0.01) Learning environment was positively correlated with academic procrastination (r=0.777, p<0.01). The influence factors of smartphone overuse were attention deficit (p<0.001), followed by academic delay behavior (p<0.01). It is necessary to establish a healthy learning environment through prevention and proper use of smartphone.

동시간과 비동시간 강우분석의 비교

  • 수공구조물의 설계의 기준이 되는 것을 설계홍수량이며, 설계홍수량의 정확한 추정은 경제적인 관점 아주 큰 영향을 미친다. 설계홍수량을 과다하게 설정하는 경우 과다한 비용이 소요되므로 과다 설계라는 결과를 초래하게 되기 때문이다. 이러한 관점에서 볼 때 합리적인 설계홍수량의 산정을 위해서는 수문시스템의 입력 자료인 강우량의 정확한 산정이 선행되어야 할 필수조건이라 할 수 있다. 이에 기존의 설계홍수량 추정시 배제되어 왔던 동시간 강우자료에 의한 영향을 강우량의 관점에서 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 살펴본 바와 같이 기존에 사용되고 있는 비동시간 강우자료에 의한 강우분석은 강우량을 과다하게 추정하게 되므로 수공구조물의 설계에 사용되는 설계홍수량의 추정을 과다하게 산정되게 할 것으로 판단되며, 이는 공사비용의 증가로 과다설계를 초래할 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 앞으로 보다 많은 동시간 강우자료의 사용을 위해 강우의 관측을 정확히 해야 하며, 이를 직접 설계에 적용해야 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 과다 노출된 영상을 영상 간 변환(Image-to-Image Translation)을 위해 설계된 적대적 생성 신경망(Generative Adversarial Network)을 활용하여 복원하는 연구를 수행한다. 과다 노출 복원을 위한 기존의 연구에서 과다 노출 영역 판별, 밝기 회복, 색상 보정 과정을 거치는데, 영상 내 과다 노출 영역을 판별하는 과정에서 임의로 결정하는 파라미터에 의해 복원된 영상 결과가 달라지는 한계점을 극복하기 위해 종단간(End-to-End) 신경망을 학습시켜 과다 노출 영역을 별도의 파라미터 선택과 분할된 과정 없이 한 번에 복원하는 방법을 제안한다. 영상 간 변환 신경망 학습에 필요한 과다 노출 여부로 도메인이 분할된 데이터셋은 게임 소프트웨어를 활용하여 만들어 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 신경망이 생성한 영상이 실제로 과다 노출 영역을 탐지하여 복원하는 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 과다 노출 영역을 탐지하여 복원하는 과정을 학습 단계별로 확인함으로써 신경망이 실제로 과다 노출 복원 과정을 학습함을 보였다.

SOCIOPSYCHIATRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN WHO USE COMPUTERS EXCESSIVELY - ON THE BASIS OF CARERS' REPORT - (컴퓨터 과다사용 초등학생의 정신사회적 특성 - 보호자의 보고를 근거로 -)

  • Objectives:Among the studies related to excessive computer use, the studies for elementary school students are relatively rare. Because children have relatively poor ability to recognize and express themselves, the carers' information is important to assess the children. This study attempted to investigate the relationship between children's computer use and sociopsychiatric characteristics on the basis of carers' reports. Methods:The subjects of this study were 287 5th- and 6th-grade students in the elementary school in Seoul. The student carers were asked to answer the questions for children's computer use, the computer addiction test modified from Young's parent-child internet addiction test, Korean Personality Inventory for Children(K-PIC). SPSS(version 10) was used to analyse the differnece of computer use between genders and the relation of the computer addiction test with K-PIC. Results:1) The score of computer addiction test was significantly higher in male children than in female children and more male children compared to female children were distributed in the excessive user group. 2) The score of computer addiction test correlated with the scores of most clinical scales of K-PIC and the average scores of most clinical scale were significantly higher in the excessive user group than in the general user group. 3) More children with score above 65 in HPR, DLQ, FAM scale were distributed in excessive user group than in general user group. Conclusion:The 5th- and 6th-grade elementary school students with excessive computer use were found to show more sociopsychiatric problems. With these finding we suggest that social and clinical attention to the children who use computer excessively shoud be required.
