Need of Accreditation System for Engineering Technology Programs in Junior College and Case of the Main Foreign Countries (전문대학 공학기술교육 프로그램 인증제 도입의 필요성과 주요 외국의 운영 사례)

  • The accreditation system for engineering technology programs has not been carried out in this country. For need of accreditation for engineering technology programs and development of evaluation criteria, we need analyses of accreditation procedures, rules and evaluation criteria. So we researched accreditation system and evaluation criteria with countries. These are signatories to the Sydney Accord under which approved engineering technology programs. Accreditation procedures and evaluation criteria are characteristic of the each countries which carried out accreditation system. We have to introduce accreditation system and develop evaluation criteria in our manner for advancing our engineering technology education of community college.

A Study on Including the ABEEK Activities in the Professor Evaluation System (공학교육인증활동을 교수업적평가에 반영하는 방안)

  • Many engineering professors are forced to execute ABEEK activities. Engineering professors are evaluated by their educational, research and service activities, but are mainly by their research papers published in professional journals. The gap between the duties and the evaluation criteria exists among engineering professors. This paper deals with the possible ways of including the ABEEK activities in the engineering professor evaluation system. Among the five ways suggested for a simple survey, tenured professors prefer to reduce the lecture time but junior professors prefer to reduce the research burden for the benefit from executing ABEEK activities. Based on logical reasoning and the preference among the surveyed professors, ABEEK related activities may be included in the educational part for the professor evaluation system before the ABEEK system is matured. However, ABEEK related activities have to be converted to the duties of engineering professors in the long run as in the US universities.

  • In the regular evaluation of engineering education accreditation, there should be almost no deficiencies in the program educational objectives, but they are occurring frequently. From the regular evaluation in 2021, the second deficiency is judged as conditional certification. This paper presents an example of the application of the program education goal adequacy review system considering changes in the social environment with a relatively low understanding of educational goal setting while preparing for the engineering education certification system and certification evaluation. In addition, application cases are presented focusing on the certification criteria, engineering education certification judgment guide, and self-study report form for the linkage application between detailed certification criteria in revising and improving educational goals.

  • 스마트폰의 사용자 증가로 인한 스마트폰의 성장과 더불어 제 3 자 개발자들이 개발한 애플리케이션이 오픈 마켓에 등록되면서, 오픈 마켓의 시장 규모가 급속히 증가하고 있다. 하지만 제 3 자 개발자는 보안 관점에서 신뢰 할 수 없는 개체이며, 이들이 개발한 애플리케이션은 악의적 또는 개발자 실수에 의해 보안 문제를 일으킬 수 있다. 따라서 스마트폰과 같은 디바이스와, 앱스토어, 제 3 자 개발자 간에 인증이 요구되고 있다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 기존의 사설 인증 시스템에 인증서 소유 검증 모듈과 인증서 유효성 검증 모듈을 추가하고, 시스템의 확장성과 관리를 용이하게 만들기 위해 Web 기반의 사설 인증 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다.

The Relationship of Engineering Education Accreditation Program, Gender, and Academic Year with Attitude towards Convergence among Engineering Students: Application of Latent Class Analysis (공과대학 학생들의 융합에 대한 태도와 공학교육인증, 성별, 학년과의 관련성 -잠재집단분석의 적용-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate engineering students' attitude toward convergence and relevance with engineering education accreditation, gender, and academic year and attitude toward convergence. To be specific, fist, we examined whether the instrument for measuring attitudes toward convergence were reliable and valid for engineering students. Second, we compared levels of attitudes toward convergence in terms of engineering education accreditation, gender and academic year. Third, latent classes, which were distinguished in terms of attitudes toward convergence, were identified. Participants were 2076 engineering students. By using factor analysis and Rasch analysis, validity and reliability of instrument measuring attitudes toward convergence were confirmed. The differences in attitude toward convergence in terms of engineering education accreditation experience, gender, and academic year were examined by independent t-test and ANOVA. There were significant differences in attitude towards convergence in terms of engineering education accreditation, gender, and academic year. Students who experience engineering education accreditation program and male and high academic year have higher levels of attitude toward convergence than others. Lastly latent class analysis (LCA) was conducted to identify subgroups underlying engineering students in terms of attitude toward convergence and five latent classes were identified. In addition, the chi-square results showed that there were significant relationships between identified latent classes and engineering education accreditation, gender, and academic year. Based on these results, engineering education considering students' characteristics and diversity in attitude toward convergence were discussed.

Development of Program Curriculum Based on ABEEK Criteria (ABEEK 인증기준에 의한 교육요소 및 교과과정 개발)

  • The third criterion of ABEEK criteria, program curriculum, currently causes confusions and questions among those who are preparing the accreditation, because the requirements in division system for student majors, that many universities adopt in Korea, contradicts those in the ABEEK criteria in various aspects, and the accreditation is new to this country. This paper describes the development procedure of the program curriculum according to the provisions of the ABEEK criteria, and discusses the easiness of the procedure and the difficulties we encountered during the curriculum development. It is found that the third criterion for program curriculum is well documented and provides an acceptable guideline for the preparation of ABEEK accreditation, although there are several aspects to be improved or clarified.

  • 공학에서의 수학의 역할은 매우 크다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 학부제의 도입으로 말미암아 점차 많은 대학의 공과대학에서는 수학없이 공학교육을 하려하고 있다. 외국의 시장개방 압력에 따라 공학인증제의 준비를 서둘러야 하는 이때에 공학인증제에 따른 공학에서의 수학교육에 대한 현재의 문제점을 조사하고 새로운 대안을 제시하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 공학기술교육인증제에서 요구하는 종합설계 교과목의 수업운영 사례 분석을 통하여 효과적인 수업 개선방안을 제안한다. 종합설계는 학생들이 스스로 문제를 해결해 나가는 현장 실무능력을 키우기 위한 교과이다. 종합설계는 대부분 목표 및 약간의 제약조건, 평가 기준들을 포함하고 있다. (사)한국공학교육인증원 인증 기준은 8개이며, 교육과정 영역에서 종합설계 교과의 필수 개설 및 실질적 운영을 매우 중요시하고 있다. 컴퓨터멀티미디어과는 2011년 (사)한국공학교육인증원의 TAC 인증평가를 받았으며, 본 논문에서는 "SW공학적 종합설계" 교과의 수업 운영 실태 중심으로 컴퓨터공학 분야 종합설계 문제점과 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다.

A New Environmental Technology Certification System(NETCS) System Dynamics Modeling for the Operational Improvement of Companies Possessing New Environmental Technology (환경신기술 보유 기업의 운영개선을 위한 환경신기술 인증제도 시스템다이내믹스 모델링)

  • 본 연구에서는 시스템다이내믹스(System Dynamics, SD) 방법론에 입각하여 국내의 신기술인증제도(New Technology Certification System, NTCS)의 운영에 내재된 요소들 간의 상호관계를 신기술 개발투자, 신기술의 사업화 및 신기술에 의한 매출과 연관하여 피드백루프 메카니즘을 내포하고 있는 인과지도로 규명하였다. 이렇게 개념화된 인과지도는 국내의 여러 신기술인증제도 중 환경부에서 운영중인 '환경신기술인증 및 기술검증제도(New Excellent Technology and Environmental Technology Verification, NET & ETV)'에 적용되었으며 NET & ETV의 운영 성과를 신기술에 의한 매출액(수주금액)의 관점에서 분석 및 예측할 수 있는 SD 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 모델이 개발되었다. 개발된 SD 모형은 NET & ETV 운영의 주요 지표에 관한 기존 통계자료를 적절히 모사하였으며 모형의 검증과정에서 시행착오를 통하여 산정된 값들은 NET & ETV의 일반적인 과거 상태를 합리적인 범위 내에서 적절하게 나타내고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 개발된 SD모형을 이용하여 기본시나리오에 대한 NET & ETV의 미래 운영 상태를 예측하였으며, 환경신기술의 적용 현장 당 수주금액에 대한 시간 추세선식의 민감도를 발견하였다.
