In the present work, a sensor system composed of an oscillator sensor and a Lamb wave sensor is proposed for the purpose of structural health monitoring. The oscillator sensing system detecting the shift of a structural resonant frequency in proportion to the amount of defects in the structure is a pretty sensitive and simple device, but its detectable range is limited to its local zone. The Lamb wave sensor system, however, is applicable to global detection of the defects. This study is aimed at investigating the feasible combination of the two systems to exploits their merits simultaneously. The scheme to use PZT patches as the oscillator sensor as well as the Lamb wave sensor was proposed to identify the position, length and number of cracks by means of TOF and amplitude of signals, and its validity was confirmed through experiments.

In this paper, medium-power wireless power transmission is implemented using the commercial power frequency (60 Hz). Since general magnetic induction wireless power transmission devices use more than several tens of kHz, the commercial power frequency (60 Hz) cannot be used as is. Therefore an AC/DC converter is used to convert the 60 Hz power frequency into DC, and a high-frequency power amplifier is used to convert DC into several tens of kHz. In magnetic induction wireless power transmission, the AC/DC converter and high-frequency power amplifier are removed, and a extremely low frequency wireless power transmission(ELF-WPT) system using commercial frequency consisting of only transmitting resonance tank, transmitting coil, receiving resonance tank, and receiving coil is implemented, and verified through wireless power transmission experiments.

This study was carried out to measure and analyze the vibration levels and modes produced by a hopper type feeder used at laying hen farms, to prevent the vibration resonance and to reduce the vibration of the hopper type feeder (6-tier). The most vibration in a layer house were produced by hopper type feeder as shown the previous study. According to the measurement results, the ratio of transmissibility was as high as 100-638% for natural frequency of 170 Hz or less. And vibration simulations were taken by the results of vibration mode analysis and the weakest points to vibrations were determined accordingly. Then measurement and analysis were taken for those points. The quantities of vibration were 4.6354-4.9118 g($g=9.81^m/s^2$) by axis. In this study, it was found that hopper type feeder generated vibration as much as to influence the ratio of laying eggs of layer. And by the analysis of vibration on the weakest points, design methods and equipment were suggested for isolating/reducing of vibration by each axis.
In this paper, it is about to non-contact wireless power transmission according to various conditions of self induction principle between the two planar coils at a transmission unit and a receiving unit based on the theory of wireless power transmission. The experiments are occurred in order to power transfer of noncontact method from designed wireless circuits in the primely coil and secondary coil, and the applying to Half Bridge Resonant converter transmission unit and receiving unit. and that were able to prepared circumstance to calculate of the output voltage and power source. The main power of the inductive coupling the resonant converter at the transmission unit is converted electrical energy using the solar cell module and artificial light source (halogen lamp) as a replace light and received 24 V power supply from solar power was used a input power source for the wireless power transmission device. Experimental results, to received of power is used to illuminate the lighting and to charge the battery in receiving circuit. And the wireless power transmission efficiency measured at the output side of the transmission unit is obtained about 70% to 89% compared to input power of receiving unit.In addition, efficiency were tested through ID verification method and comparing the phase difference between the voltage when foreign substances interfere with wireless power transmission.

Cavity-type beam position monitors were developed in collaboration with KEK to use for the future accelerators such as international linear collider (ILC) or x-ray free electron laser (XFEL) in PAL. BPM components such as BPM cavity, beam tubes, waveguides and feedthroughs were assembled by brazing at the same time to reduce mechanical errors during the fabrication. There are four screwed pins around outer rim of the cavity for the tuning of cavity frequency and x-y isolation. The resonance frequency of BPM is 6.422 GHz, the inner diameter of cavity is 53.822 mm, and the range of mechanical adjusting is $+ / - 250{\mu}m$. The x-y isolation was measured better than -40 dB after tuned. Test results of signal forms, x-y isolations, sensitivities are satisfied within requirements for the KEK ATF2 beam line.

After the Fukushima nuclear accident, a new power supply using a lithium polymer battery has been proposed the first time in the world as the safety of the emergency battery facility has been required. It is required to have the safety of the rack system in which the battery device is installed in order to apply the proposed technology to the field. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of string and rack frame for lithium-polymer battery devices developed for the first time in the world to satisfy 72 hours capacity. (1) The natural frequency of the unit rack system was 9 Hz, and the natural frequency before and after the earthquake load did not change. This means that the connection between members is secured against the design earthquake load. (2) he vibration reduction effect by string design was about 20%. (3) As a result of the seismic performance test under OBE and SSE conditions, the rack frame system was confirmed to be safe. Therefore, the proposed rack system can be applied to the nuclear power plant because the rack system has been verified structural safety to the required seismic forces.

A magnetic shutter gear is a device that transfers mechanical power by synchronizing the magnetic field between permanent magnet layers facing circumferentially through a harmonic modulator. However, magnetic gears uses many rare-earth permanent magnets to guarantee comparable torque density to that of mechanical reducer. Hence, we propose a novel axial magnetic gear with a dramatically reduced number of permanent magnets and a closed magnetic path. The torque of the system was compared to that of an existing shutter gear through a harmonic analysis of the air-gap magnetic field. The modulator thickness and open ratio were considered as the primary design parameters, and the cogging effect was analyzed for variation of the reduction ratio. A dynamic model between the high-speed side and low-speed side was derived, and position control was performed for a constructed hardware implementation.

One of the most important matters in keeping membrane structures in healthy condition is to maintain the proper tension distribution over the membrane. However, it is not easy to know the real stress level in the membrane quantitatively after completion of the structures. Authors suggested measurement method that can measure membrane stress using sound wave, and have been holding experimental tests of membrane stress measurement that used the sound external excitation with sine wave and white noise. The concept of the method is the fact that measurement of resonance frequency by vibrating membrane having rectangular boundary by audible frequency can measure membrane stress indirectly. In this paper, through the experimental tests it is proved that the equipment can be used for not only the membrane material of type A but also for types B and C. In addition, it is proved that the developed measurement equipment is available to stably measure the membrane stress which exists in the membrane material of the actual membrane structures.

Oscillating wave amplitude in a bottom-mounted OWC chamber designed for wave energy converter is investigated by applying characteristic wave conditions in Korean coastal water. The effects of shape parameters of OWC chamber in a view of wave energy absorbing capability are analyzed. Both experimental and numerical approaches are adopted and their results are compared to optimize the shape parameters which can result in a maximum power production under given wave distribution. The experiment was carried out in a wave flume under 2-D assumption of OWC chamber. The numerical scheme employed a hybrid Green integral equation which adopts the Rankine Green function inside chamber to take account of fluctuating air pressure, while it uses the Kelvin Green function in outer domain. Air duct diameter, chamber width, and submerged depths of front skirt and back wall of chamber changes the magnitude and peak frequency of wave absorption significantly.
High-power wireless transmission system becomes a key technology for the advance of battery-powered devices. The wireless power transfer devices are currently dominated by the inductive and capacitive wireless power transfer systems, which have relatively low power transmission capacity and low efficiency rather than the wired power transmission. The work presented in this paper proposes an alternative method of high-power transmission system, based on a variable speed motor system with a magnetic coupling. It enables high-capacity power transmission, high efficiency, and low possibility of failures, and the performance of the proposed scheme is verified by simulation and experiments.
