Numerical Investigation of Mixing Characteristics in a Cavity Flow by Using Hybrid Lattice Boltzmann Method (혼성 격자볼츠만 방법을 이용한 공동 형상 내부에서의 혼합 특성에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • In this study, the mixing characteristics in lid-driven cavity flows were studied numerically by using a hybrid lattice Boltzmann method (HLBM). First, we compared the numerical results from single-relaxation-time (LB-SRT) and multi-relaxation-time (LB-MRT) models to examine their reliability. In most of the cavity flow, the results from both the LB-SRT and the LB-MRT models were in good agreement with those using a Navier-Stokes solver for Re=100-5000. However, the LB-MRT model was superior to the LB-SRT model for the simulation of higher Reynolds number flows having a geometrical singularity with much lesser spatial oscillations. For this reason, the LB-MRT model was selected to study the mass transport in lid-driven cavity flows, and it was demonstrated that mass transport in the fluid was activated by a recirculation zone in the cavity, which is connected from the top to the bottom surfaces through two boundary layers. Various mixing characteristics such as the concentration profiles, mean Sherwood (Sh) numbers, and velocity were computed. Finally, the detailed transport mechanism and solutions for the concentration profile in the cavity were presented.

  • The purpose of this study was to find ways to co-produce ASEAN-Korea co-production in the ASEAN market, which is the market that we should strategically converge in the domestic and overseas environment of the Korean content industry. The research content to achieve the research objective was targeted at viewers of broadcasting programs from five ASEAN countries, and the survey methods were conducted for case-research analysis. First, we analyzed the current status of Korean content broadcasting in five ASEAN countries during the first half of 2018, secondly, the status of use and awareness of Korean broadcasting programs in the five ASEAN countries, fourth, use and awareness of joint broadcasting programs with Korea, and finally, international joint production cases with Korea in the five ASEAN countries. Through this ideal, it is worth suggesting that the Korea-ASEAN joint production should strategically converge under the domestic and international environments currently facing the Korean content industry.

  • To determine detection capabilities of locating steel bars and delamination inside concrete, commercially available nondestructive testing (NDT) equipments have been tested. The equipments include two radar systems and two electromagnetic method systems. The inclusions are a 19 mm diameter steel bar and 50 mm thick delamination embedded at different cover depths from the surface of concrete specimens. For the steel bar, attempts were made to determine the size of the bars by changing the diameter of the bars. A sample result of measuring horizontal spacing between doubly reinforced bars is presented in this paper. Experimental results on various measurement cases are discussed. Application of numerical modeling technique for the simulation of radar measurements and improved output display of radar measurements are also presented.

  • A domestic round robin test(RRT) for the quantitative analysis of minor impurities was performed by a standard procedure and standard reference material. The certified reference material(CRM)s for B-doped Si thin film and analysis specimens and the analysis specimens were prepared by an ion beam sputter deposition method. These samples were certified by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) with isotope dilution method which il one of the most quantitative methods in chemical analysis. By using an international standard procedure(ISO/DIS-l4237) for the quantitative analysis of B in Si by SIMS, a domestic RRT was performed for these specimens. Although only a few laboratories participated in this RRT, the average B concentration well agreed with the certified value within 2% error.

  • This study introduces a simulation model of radar responses from subsurface voids in concrete for their frequency variations. In this model, resolution and attenuation characteristics due to frequency variations are analyzed at each material interface which has different electromagnetic property. This model aims at the selection of best frequency of radar which can analyze the thickness of voids in concrete from radar responses. It can also be applied to estimate the limitation of propagation depth of radar on subsurface voids in concrete. The computed results show the radar images obtained by using a radar signal processing technique using convolution.

  • The finite element method combined with the sensitivity method is adopted for 2-dimensionl Fourier transform inversion. To improve the efficiency of inversion calculation, multi-resolution wavelet method is proposed., Theoretical data which is obtained from above method is shown to examine the proposed method. Theoretical model assumes that underground cavity is located in limestone area. In theoretical model, 16 current and potential electrodes are located to get theoretical data. It is shown that the about inversion method is very exact and useful calculation method, in case the larger model is very small such as under ground cavity.

  • 지금까지 gold-coated 반사체, cusp-shaped 반사체, 복합 포물 반사체(CPC), 난반사 공동체 등 다양한 형태의 반사체가 횡펌핑을 이용한 Nd:YAG 레이저의 개발을 위하여 고안되어졌다. 횡여기되는 Nd:YAG 레이저의 광학적 효율은 반사체의 형태, 다이오드 레이저의 파장, Nd:YAG 결정의 지름, Nd$^3$의 도핑농도에 따라 영향을 받는다.$^{(1)}$ 본 연구에서는 고출력의 횡여기 Nd:YAG 레이저를 개발할 목적으로 광여기 공동으로 사용된 난반사 공동체의 내부지름과 레이저 매질인 Nd:YAG 결정의 흡수계수 등 매개변수를 변화시켜 흡수분포와 출력을 계산하였으며, 이러한 매개변수들이 기울기 효율에 미치는 영향을 수치 해석적으로 연구해 보았다. 광선추적법에서 사용한 매개변수 중에서 다이오드 레이저의 파장은 808 nm이고, 반사율은 90%이며, 여기 다이오드 출력은 1080 W이다. 난반사 공동체$^{(2)}$ 의 반사율은 95.7%이고, 결정의 투과율은 90%이며, 결정의 반지름은 2.5 mm이다. 사용된 여기 구조도는 그림 1과 같다. 여기헤드는 Nd:YAG 결정, 난반사 공동체, 그리고 3개의 360 W급 다이오드 어레이들로 구성되어 있다.   • Machine learning (ML)-based cavity detection using a large amount of survey data obtained from vehicle-mounted ground penetrating radar (GPR) has been actively studied to identify underground cavities. However, only simple image processing techniques have been used for preprocessing the ML input, and many conventional seismic and GPR data processing techniques, which have been used for decades, have not been fully exploited. In this study, based on the idea that a cavity can be identified using diffraction, we applied ML-based diffraction separation to GPR data to increase the accuracy of cavity detection using the YOLO v5 model. The original ML-based seismic diffraction separation technique was modified, and the separated diffraction image was used as the input to train the cavity detection model. The performance of the proposed method was verified using public GPR data released by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. Underground cavities and objects were more accurately detected using separated diffraction images. In the future, the proposed method can be useful in various fields in which GPR surveys are used.

  • Pulmonary aspergilloma is potentially a life threatening disease resulting from the colonization of lung cavities by Aspergillus fumigatus. A case is reported: a 43-year-old man with symtomatic cavitary aspergilloma presenting with severe productive coughing, hemopt sis, occasional fever, and chilling. On preoperative plain chest radiograph and CT scan, we could find a rounded irregular opacity in a large pulmonary cavity. He received 2 separate operations for therapeutic need. At the first opertion, we performed cavernostomy and thoracoplasty because of severe pleural adhesions, tearing of cavity wall, and high risk of respiratory insufficiency. At the second operation, we performed myoplasty and omentoplasty for closure of remaining air space and complete wrapping of the BPF site. All symptoms of dyspnea and hemoptysis have since resolved. We believed that in the high risk patients who have severe respiratory symptoms, such as in aspergilloma and open cavity with a risk of respiratory insufficiency, cavernostomy followed by myoplasty or omentoplasty should be recommended.

Effects on Resident of human body at fire outbreak for apartment building using CFAST (화재 시뮬레이션을 이용한 공동주택 화재발생시 거주자의 인체에 미치는 영향)

  • 최근 공동주택은 보편적인 도시주거 유형으로 자리매김 하고 있지만, 성장 위주의 경제 산업 정책에 따른 안전의식미약, 사회구조개편에 따른 급격한 증가, 생활환경 변화와 에너지 사용 증가 등 화재 유발인자의 다양화로 인해 인적 물적 피해가 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 특히 다른 건물들과는 달리 공동주택의 거주자가 유아, 노인, 신체장애자 등 다양한 인적 구성의 형태로 이루어져 있어서 화재 발생 건수에 비해 인명피해가 월등히 높은 편이다. 공동주택에서의 화재에 대한 위험성을 인식하고, 그에 대한 인적 물적 피해를 최소화하기 위한 대책 마련이 시급하다. 본 논문은 CFAST(Consolidated Model of Fire Growth and Smoke Transport)를 사용하여 공동주택을 대상으로 실물 화재 실험을 실시하고 공간화재에서의 화재 성상을 파악하여 화재 시 개구부의 개폐 여부에 따라 발생되는 산소와 이산화탄소의 농도와 온도가 인체에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아본다. 개구부를 개방 했을 경우에 외부창문의 개폐 여부에 상관없이 모든 방의 온도 분포가 뚜렷하게 나타났지만 개구부를 폐쇄 할 경우에는 발화지점인 거실의 온도 분포만 나타났다. Flashover현상과 Back Draft현상은 개구부의 개폐여부에 상관없이 외부 창문을 폐쇄 했을 경우에 나타났지만 특히 모든 개구부와 외부창문을 폐쇄 했을 경우에 더욱 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 각 실은 점화 후 4분경에 최고 온도를 보였으며 다른 방에 비해 발화지점인 거실의 온도가 가장 높게 나타났다. 온도에 의해서는 두 가지 영향이 일어날 수 있는데, 하나는 비교적 장시간에 걸쳐 발생하는 열응력이고, 다른 하나는 짧은 시간에 발생할 수 있는 화상이다. 만약 피부온도가 $45^{\circ}C$에 이르면 인체는 고통을 느끼게 되며, 이보다 더 높은 온도에서는 깊은 피부조직까지 손상을 줄 수 있다. 움직이지 않는 사람에 대한 고통 유발 임계온도는 약 $200^{\circ}C$이며, 인체는 땀의 발산으로 온도에 대한 내성이 증가하지만 이체가 장시간 열을 받으면 사망에 이를 수 있다. 결론적으로 공동 주택을 대상으로 CFAST를 이용해 분석한 결과 플래쉬오버 현상으로 인해 화재가 성장하여 급격히 온도가 상승하다가, 산소 부족으로 인해 화재가 성장하지 않고 온도가 떨어지는 것을 알 수 있다. 화재 시 온도, 산소, 이산화탄소를 고려하였을 때 약 3분 이내에 대피해야 온도 및 가스로 인한 피해를 줄일 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
