The purpose of this study is to extract the main planning factors of environment friendly apartment complex through the residents' evaluations on importance levels of the planning factors. The major findings of this study are as follows; 1) Understanding on the environment friendly apartment complex is lacking, and the satisfaction level on the living space as the environment friendly apartment is very low. 2) The residents in the low-storied apartments want the introduction of facilities for energy saving, and those in the high-storied apartments demand to develop to green area. 3) In evaluating the importance of the environment friendly planning factors and the image of the apartment complex, the guarantee of green area and the development of water friendly space are closely related with the image of the apartment complex. So, they are the planning factors that should be handled importantly.

개방화시대, 21세기 선진국 대열로 진입하기 위해서는 과학기술의 발전없이는 불가능하다. 과학기술의 발전을 위해서는 과학기술에 종사하는 전문가들의 헌신적인 노력과 뚜렷한 사명감이 절실한데 그들은 지금 어떤 환경에 있으며 어떤 의식을 갖고 있나, 국내ㆍ외에 거주하는 과학기술자 1천2백69명을 대상으로 서면에 의한 설문조사를 했다. 이 설문조사는 한국과학재단의 지원으로 박택규(건국대교수), 이걸삼(과총사무처장) 그리고 필자가 공동으로 수행했는데 이번호에는 우리나라에 유치되어있는 고급기술자 1백50명과 재외 한국인과학기술자 3백50명 등 모두 5백명을 대상으로 한 해외한국과학기술자의 의식조사 내용을 소개한다.

국내의 경우, 2004년 5월부터 시행예정인 다중이용시설 등의 실내공기질관리법에 따라서, 학교 등의 일부 건축물을 제외하고 신축공동주택 및 대부분의 거주용 공간에 대한 실내공기질관리법이 제정되었다. 이러한, 건축물 내에는 다양한 오염원(sources)과 휘발성유기화합물(VOCs), 포름알데히드(HCHO), 라돈(Radon), 석면(Asbestos), 일산화탄소(CO), 이산화탄소($CO_2$), 이산화질소(NO$_2$), 오존(O$_3$), 미세 먼지(PM10), 부유세균 등 유해오염물질(contaminants)이 존재하고 있다. 또한, 실내공기오염은 각 오염원에서의 유해오염물질 방산정도(emission rate)가 실내외 환경조건, 적용 건축자재의 종류 및 공법 , 환기설비의 특성 및 유형 등에 따라 큰 차이를 보이고 있으므로, 이에 대한 정확한 측정방법의 정립과 그에 따른 적절한 실태조사의 실시가 필요하다. 주택의 공기질 환경에 대하여 사회적 이슈가 된 새집증후군에 대한 언론매체의 집중적 보도와 실내 공기질이 인체에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구보고서의 잇따른 발표에 따라 실내 공기 질에 대한 관심이 점점 더 고조되고 있는 시점에 환경부의 실내공기질 관리법에 의해 2004년 5월부터 신축되는 공동주택의 경우 포름알테히드와 VOCs등 새집에서 발생되는 유해 물질을 입주 전 측정하여 공고하여야 한다는 법이 제정이 되어있다. 따라서 각 건설사 및 관련 업계에서는 실내의공기질을 개선하기 위한 다양한 방법을 연구하고 있으며 일차적으로 유해오염물질이 발생되지 않는 건축자재를 사용하는 근본적인 오염원인을 제거하는 source control를 선행을 하고 2차적으로 거주자가 주거생활을 하면서 발생시키는 오염물질인 $CO_2$및 분진 냄새 등은 강제환기를 통해서 개선시키는 방법을 채택하여 실내공기 질을 개선하고자 노력하고 있다. 제5차 국내외 한국과학기술자 종합학술대회가 드디어 7월10일로 박두했다. 한국과학기술단체 총연합회(회장: 민관식)가 재미한국과학기술자협회와 공동으로 주최하는 이번학술대회에서는 국내외과학기술자 1,300여명이 참석하게 되며 재미측에서 159편, 국내측에서 85편 총 244편의 논문이 발표된다. 이 학술대회는 우리나라에서 개최되는 과학기술계 학술행사중 유일한 매머드 종합학술대회로서 지난 74년부터 해마다 유럽 및 미주등지에 거주하는한국과학기술자를 초청하여 국내과학기술자와 학술교류 및 기술정보교환을 해온 바있다. 한편 첫날 오후 4시30분부터 KIST죤슨강당에서 과학기술계인사들이 참석한 가운데 개회식이 거행되며 11일부터는 3일간 서울대하교 관악캠퍼스에서 본격적인 학술발표에 들어가게 된다. 다음에 종합학술대회에서 발표될 국내측 분과별 연제 및 연사를 소개한다.

[ $\circ$ ] 건설부는 주거환경이 열악한 서울특별시 승인지구 등 11개 지구를 주거환경 개선지구로 새로이 추가하여 지정하였다. 주거환경개선지구로 지정된 이들 지구는 시장 등이 수립하는 개선계획에 따라 소방도로 등 기반시설의 정비와 아울러 기존의 주택을 개량하거나 새로이 공동주택을 건설하게 되며 이때, 정부에서는 한국주택은행을 통하여 호당 1,200만원까지 장기저리의 자금을 융자지원하고 있다. $\circ$ 도시영세민이 거주하는 불량주택밀집지역에 대하여 시행하는 이 사업은 ''91.11.8 현재 170개 지구가 사업지구(주거환경 개선지구)로 지정되었고 개선계획이 확정된 60개 지구에서는 이미 사업이 활발히 진행되는 등 호조를 보이고 있다. $\circ$ 정부는 ''99년까지 전국 502개 지구에 대한 주거환경개선사업을 완료하여 ''달동네''를 살기 좋은 주거단지로 조성할 계획이다.

This study begins to make inquires about user's opinion of introducing Interior Landscape into Apartment Housing to the problems of contemporary Interior Landscape and suggest the fundamental data to improve it. The city-ward drifting of population drawn from industrial development and aggravation of living condition bring about exclusion of nature and lack of green space. Furthermore, it increases the length of stay of urban liver in indoor space. Thus, dweller's desire to Interior Landscape increase but housing can't follow it. The purpose of this study is to understand characteristics of Interior Landscape, derive essential factors, study plans, establish radical data, and suggest better plans including Interior Landscape through making inquires about user's opinion.

One-person household is increasing by the growth of unemployment, divorce, aging in Korea. In particular, One-person households have rapidly increased around Farming & Fishing Regions. In this regard, this research aims to suggest the directions of housing supply for one-person households suitable for Farming & Fishing Regions by investigating the characteristics of one-person households in the social, economic, and physical aspects. This study found out that one-person households could be divided into two groups; one group lived in industrialized Farming & Fishing Regions and the other group lived in traditional Farming & Fishing Regions. For one-person households living in industrialized Farming & Fishing Regions, it is necessary to provide age-mixed residential sites where companies and manufacturers are condensed. On the other hand, for the one-person households living in traditional Farming & Fishing Regions, it in necessary to provide multi-person housing units for increasing the quality of life ofne-person households.

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between national reputation, culture and communication based on the intercultural communication theory. The 18 foreign residents in Korea were interviewed. The analysis of in-depth interview reveals that culture and communication are very important factors in establishing the national reputation. The qualitative research showcases that the cultural acculturation types(separation, integration, and assimilation) are grouped as foreigners adapt and acculturate to the residence. Especially, the assimilation is very essential type in having the in-group expectancy and the loyalty to Korea. The results reveal that a higher level of heterogeneity of a personal network('Korean in-group network') is associated with a higher level of reputation and loyalty to Korea. This suggests that having outgroup members in individuals' personal networks facilitates outgroup communication competence and loyalty to Korea.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationships among social activities, self-efficacy and the level of life satisfaction of the elderly. 394 structured questionnaires were collected from the elderly aged 60 plus who live in Joonggu, Dajeon City, and the frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis and hierarchical regression analysis were carried out through SPSS Ver 18.0. The results were as follows. First, the frequencies of the learning and cultural activity, social collective activity and family community activity showed relatively high. The participation frequencies showed as 30% for one or two times per week and 20% for nearly no. And the participation time lasted only one or two hours which meat very low level. Second, the positive cognition on the participation in social activities and taking an active part in social activities had an positive effect on self-efficacy and the level of life satisfaction of the elderly.
