  • 3축 파이프 형상절단기에서 다양한 접합형상에 대하여 모관과 지관의 접합궤적을 수학적으로 유도하였다. 그 접합궤적에 절단폭 등의 공구 보정하여 실제로 가공할 절단궤적을 결정하여 이 공구궤적에 해당하는 CL-data를 생성하고, 또한 공구 궤적을 확인하기 위하여 ghost 기능을 구현하였다. 생성된 CL data를 PLC의 위치결정제어 모듈에 로딩하여 동시 3축($\alpha$, X, $\beta$축)의 이송을 제어하여 경로를 따라서 형상절단과 동시에 개선을 할 수 있도록 동시3축 파이프 형상절단 시스템을 개발하였다.

불완전한 2차원다양체 메시기반 공추경로생성 (Incomplete 2-manifold Mesh Based Tool Path Generation)

  • This paper presents a new paradigm for 3-axis tool path generation based on an incomplete 2-manifold mesh model, namely, an inexact polyhedron. When geometric data is transferred from one system to another system and tessellated for tool path generation, the model does not have any topological data between meshes and facets. In contrast to the existing polyhedral machining approach, the proposed method generates tool paths from an incomplete 2-manifold mesh model. In order to generate gouge-free tool paths, CL-meshes are generated by offsetting boundary edges, boundary vertices, and facets. The CL-meshes are sliced by machining planes and the calculated intersections are sorted, trimmed, and linked. The grid method is used to reduce the computing time when range searching problems arise. The method is fully implemented and verified by machining an incomplete 2-manifold mesh model.

다이레스 CNC 포밍을 위한 등고선 공구경로 생성 (Contouring Tool Path Generation for Dieless CNC Forming)

  • The sheet parts are formed with dies conventionally. But this conventional forming process is not suited to small volume and varied production for the reason of high cost. For the solution of this problem, a new forming process, which is called CNC incremental sheet forming, is being introduced. This process can form sheet parts without die, and is very well suited to small volume and varied production in space flight and automobile. In this paper, dieless CNC forming system based on a machining center is developed. A special device to grasp and pull the blank sheet built in the machining center and tool path generation S/W from STL file of 3-D model are developed. Several sheet parts are incrementally formed to verify the effectiveness of the developed system.

2차원 자유형상의 레이저 절단을 위한 CNC 공구경로 생성 (CNC Torch Path Generation for Laser Cutting of Planar Shapes)

  • In this paper, we propose a knowledge-based method for generating CNC torch path for laser cutting of the outlines of planar shapes. The proposed method consists of two main phases: laser cutting knowledge construction and CNC torch path generation using the knowledge. In the first phase, cutting experiments are conducted on various operating parameters, and then empirical data are stored and analyzed to make up the knowledge of laser cutting. With this knowledge, we can inquire what a kerf width is for specific operating parameters. In the second phase, using the knowledge of laser cutting, CNC torch path is generated for cutting the outlines of the given planar shapes. This phase is basically based on the offset generation of each outline by a sequence of arc splines, where the offset distance is the same as the half of the kerf width determined from the constructed knowledge. The proposed method based on laser cutting knowledge makes full use of arc interpolators in CNC torch path generation. The method can efficiently reduce the number of path segments while keeping the torch path within the desired accuracy.

비숙련자를 위한 CNC 조각기 시스템의 개발 방안 연구 (A Development of CNC Engraving Machine System for Non-experts)

  • DIY(Do It Yourself) 중심의 창작 활동이 확산되면서 일반 사용자들이 손쉽게 아이디어를 구체화 할 수 있는 환경이 마련되고 있다. 3D 프린터를 비롯한 디지털 기술과 도구의 대중화가 급속도로 진행되고 있는 반면, CNC 조각기의 경우 전문 지식의 부족과 복잡한 사용 절차로 인해 사용이 원활하지 않다. 이에 본 연구에서는 3D 형상 모델 파일만 선택하면 자동으로 가공이 가능한 CNC 조각기의 시스템을 개발하였다. 피삭재와 공구의 크기 및 종류를 제한하고, 생산성의 배제를 통해 공정 계획 및 공구경로 생성, 피삭재 고정, 피삭재 좌표계 파악을 자동화하였다. 그 결과 비숙련자도 혼자 충분히 사용 가능한 CNC 조각기의 시스템이 개발되었다. 이를 통해 기존보다 넓은 범위에서 다양한 사용자들이 사용할 수 있는 CNC 조각기의 발전이 기대된다.

대구경 비구면 연마를 위한 다관절 로봇의 경로 계획 및 제어 (Path Planning and Control of an Articulated Robot for Polishing Large Aspherical Surface)

  • 비구면 거울은 구형 거울보다 무게가 가볍고 성능이 우수하지만, 그 형상을 가공하고 가공 정밀도를 측정하는 것이 어렵다. 특히 위성에 사용되는 대형 조리개 비구면 미러는 높은 정밀도가 필요하고 처리하는 데 시간이 오래 걸린다. 기존의 연마 공정에는 갠트리 구조를 갖는 컴퓨터 수치 제어 공작기계가 사용되고 있으나, 자유도가 부족하여 복잡한 형상을 처리하기 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위해 다관절 산업용 로봇을 사용하는 연마 시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 시스템은 공구 경로 생성 프로그램, 실시간 로봇 모니터링 및 제어 프로그램으로 구성되며, 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어와 실제 로봇 작동을 통해 개발된 시스템의 성능을 검증하였다.

신경회로망 방식에 의한 복잡한 포켓형상의 황삭경로 생성 (Neural network based tool path planning for complex pocket machining)

  • In this paper, we present a new method to tool path planning problem for rough cut of pocket milling operations. The key idea is to formulate the tool path problem into a TSP (Travelling Salesman Problem) so that the powerful neural network approach can be effectively applied. Specifically, our method is composed of three procedures: a) discretization of the pocket area into a finite number of tool points, b) neural network approach (called SOM-Self Organizing Map) for path finding, and c) postprocessing for path smoothing and feedrate adjustment. By the neural network procedure, an efficient tool path (in the sense of path length and tool retraction) can be robustly obtained for any arbitrary shaped pockets with many islands. In the postprocessing, a) the detailed shape of the path is fine tuned by eliminating sharp corners of the path segments, and b) any cross-overs between the path segments and islands. With the determined tool path, the feedrate adjustment is finally performed for legitimate motion without requiring excessive cutting forces. The validity and powerfulness of the algorithm is demonstrated through various computer simulations and real machining.

로봇을 이용한 두개골 천공 시스템의 공구 경로 생성 (Tool-path Generation for a Robotic Skull Drilling System)

  • This paper presents a tool-path generation methods for an automated robotic system for skull drilling, which is performed to access to some neurosurgical interventions. The path controls of the robotic system are classified as move, probe, cut, and poke motions. The four motions are the basic motion elements of the tool-paths to make a hole on a skull. Probing, rough cutting and fine cutting paths are generated for skull drilling. For the rough cutting path circular paths are projected on the offset surfaces of the outer top and the inner bottom surfaces of the skull. The projected paths become the paths on the top and bottom layers of the rough cutting paths. The two projected paths are blended for the paths on the other layers. Syntax of the motion commands for a file format is also suggested for the tool-paths. Implementation and simulation results show that the possibility of the proposed methods.

  • Recently, for enhanced productivity the induction of CAD/CAM is vigorous. Most of high-level CAD/CAM systems produce powerful faculties. But it is very expensive to purchase the system in small and difficult to be operated by non-experienced workers effectively. Then the resonable CAM system for these is needed. In this study we developed a proto-type of the CAM system for CNC lathe connecting with personal computer. This system is configured with interactive menu windows for easy control of CNC lathe. And the system supports tool path generation for cutting conditions of workpiece. The performance of this system is satisfactory.
