The article aims to elaborate on the fundamental insights of Hegel's political philosophy from a 'public freedom theory and public philosophy' perspective. The article is based on the understanding that Hegel's theory of freedom desires public freedom, and explains the contemporary meanings of the theory of freedom. The article critiques two subjects based on the interpretation of Hegel's public philosophy-the first is atomistic individualism and the other is the absolute alterity theory supported by Levinas and Derrida. In other words, through this article the author emphasizes that Hegel's public freedom theory clearly illustrates the limitations of atomistic individualism, and goes on to provide a subject theory that includes a dual/multiple theory on 'the other' that is distinct from the Levinas-Derrida approach.

Korean churches and theology of today are experiencing a decline in reliability and a lack of communication from the Korean society due to the absence of proper reflection. Moreover, with the COVID-19 Pandemic, the church is led to a situation where the problem of survival has become a concern. In addition, churches and theology failed to restore the public nature of faith from civil society, and how these beliefs could be developed in terms of Christian education has become an important theological task. The restoration of the public nature of the church brings interest in public theology, and if education is an important area of the public forum, we pay attention to educational philosophers who provided the basis for publicness and civil democracy education philosophy in Christian education. Rousseau, as an educationalist who opened the modern philosophy of education is opening up the civil society through discovering the existence of children with the proposition "Return to Nature" in the 18th century. This study aims to use Rousseau's educational philosophy in his books Emil, The Theory of Inequality Origins, and Social Contract Theory as the basis of educational theory that opened the foundation of the public domain and civil society.

How can Selfish people choose moral behaviors. Xunzi thought it can be done with Human reason. For him, people move for their own interest. So they must follow Yi(禮), if they understand the life that following Yi is better than following x?ngq?ng(性情). Xunzi' theory is going to meet following two problems. One, people do not choose Yi because heir selfish is the only power to do. Second, there is nothing to blame or punishment for violators because it is not the duty. I tried to explain with two solutions for Xunzi.

In this thesis, the author will examine how modern philosophical expression manifests in the field of ethics based on Kant's Ethics. The author will critically assess whether Kant's Ethics is an appropriate rational theoretical alternative to overcome today's ecological crisis. In the first section, the author lists the characteristics of modernity. The purpose of this section is to show why Kant's Ethics must be understood in the context of modern age and how his ethics expresses the ideology of the modernity(I). In the second section, the author will analyze the challenge Kant's Ethics face in relation to ecological crisis from the context of dualism between person and thing(II). In the last section, the author will inspect the flaw of Kant's Ethics based on his positive position regarding vicarious duties toward animals, and pose the basic direction of the theory of ecological publicness that can overcome the limits of Kant's Ethics in the context of a critical reconstruction of neo-confucian tradition(III).

This research attempted to provide new philosophical perspective to be taken in the public libraries as an institution which should support the social inclusion in the multicultural society. As deepening on dichotomous system of culture in modern society, It is referred to the need for an intercultural discourse on mulitcultural services in the public libraries. The process of social Integration suggested by Esser indicated the interactive transformation between actors and society. The conception serves the standard perspective on immigrants. Accordingly, This research analyzed a multicultural program of public libraries based on the classification of policy about immigrants by Castles. And it is based on the intercultural philosophy of Mall, It suggested the roles of public libraries in social integration and the process to support immigrants through the framework by Esser.

It is the aim of this study to attain general knowledge of Intellectual freedom which provides the philosophical principle of our library activities. Also, this study seeks to develop the principia of intellectual freedom as the policy and guide of public libraries in Korea. In order to research the operational circumstances of intellectual freedom In our public libraries, the researcher visited 20 public libraries in the Seoul district. The results clearly confirmed the self-censorship of the librarians in selecting materials. Also, it confirmed the reality of external interventions and restrictions as well as restrictive sources originating from internal ignorance and habitual practices in our public libraries. Ultimately, such results provided a solid basis for the aim of this study to develop intellectual freedom principle as the basic ideology for public library activities in Korea.

The main aim of this paper is to show that Gadamer's notion of historical constraint of interpretation is an unsuccessful theoretical postulation. Gadamer tries to present the limits of knowledge and interpretation in terms of his notion of understanding as an event. According to Gadamer, interpretation is bound to be incomplete by nature, and this leads to the thesis of "the uncertainty of interpretation". Although Gadamer seems to make his case successfully against the objective and ahistorical frame of interpretation, his thesis of the uncertainty of interpretation inevitably brings up the fear of nihilistic relativism. To meet this problem, Gadamer offers a constraint of hermeneutic situation, which is derived from the historicity underlying all forms of our existence. Nevertheless, the notion of historicity as the essence of human life does not seem to explain successfully how the actual content of an interpretation is constrained. Drawing on the experientialist notion of 'the embodied understanding", I suggest that the working constraint of interpretations can be appropriately found in the commonality of human experience which is conspicuous at the bodily and physical level of experience. In sum, interpretations, as part of mental and abstract level of experience, arise out of the bodily and physical level of experience, and at the same time strongly constrained by it.

This study reviews Korean public informatization policy implemented in last 20 years from the philosophical perspective and attempts to suggest directions to be considered in the future. To accomplish the research goal, this study first analyzes literature in the relevant areas, including philosophy of value, administrative ideology, and public informatization policy. Second, based on the results of literature review, criteria to analyze the public informatization policy are established. Then, the Korean public informatization policy is analyzed based on the established criteria. Lastly, implications for planning and implementing public informatization policy are suggested. Significance of the study lies in its attempt to examine public informatization policy from the philosophical perspective. However, due to its exploratory nature, this study has limitations including less rigorous measurement instruments, limited source of data, limited number of propositions established. Therefore, further studies are needed in these areas.
