The purpose of this study is to comparatively analyze the designs selected in the competition and those executed actually for the public libraries and thereupon, check if competition winner architects' original intentions were maintained or not, and thereby, review the details of changed designs and their causes, and thus, provide some basic data useful to architectural planning and design of future public libraries. For this purpose, researcher sampled 5 public libraries designed and constructed through competition in Seoul and Gyeong-In area since 2000, and thereupon, comparatively analyzed the selected designs and executed ones to review the details and causes of changed designs and determine the characteristics of the spatial planning for the public libraries.

This study examined the arrangement features in public library infant and children's reading room and provide basic material in after children's reading room space planning by studying the space features, which are valued in the environment behavioral point of view. We limited the check list to libraries built after year 2000 that are located around Seoul and from 5 libraries with children reading rooms. After analyzing items by the space features, considering children's environment behavior, pleasantness was most favorable, children scale, safety, comfortableness, flexibility followed in order. It shows the basic surroundings and the furniture that composes the children's reading room are relatively favorable, but in the other hand, it seems that reading rooms lack the ability to form an environment that can adapt to children's growth, inducting new activity areas flexibly or rearrange them. there are limitations to getting the children's needs objectively and significantly, so survey research, interview research and not only studying Korean's but comparing and analyzing with foreign country's cases will be needed.

This study examined the programs of public library and the spaces for them in Seoul and Gyunggi area. The examination was performed by making field surveys on 12 sample public libraries and posing user questionnaires on 4 libraries out of the sample. The data from the questionnaire survey were processed and analyzed with SPSS 14.0. The results are as follows: First, according to the arrangement of the furniture, the space usages for the programs in public libraries are divided into four classes, one-way exposure: free of furniture: two-way exposure. The one-way exposure has been the most common though the furniture arrangement varies with the characteristics of a program. Second, language or information technology related programs are the most frequently attended programs in public libraries. Lastly, the space usage for the reading education programs has had the highest level of the user satisfaction measurement while the user satisfaction is lower in those for general culture programs and health care programs.

The remodeling of apartment that improves the improves the life level is going to be in the market because of lots of old apartment buildings. Until now, the research of remodeling is mainly restricted to the laws and financial funding, however, the needs in the trend of remodeling. This research, first, through the examples of remodeling in the country, this study draws remodeling factors that can be applied. Secondly, this study targets the study of remodeling to apartments and analyzes the type of housings made by the Korea National Housing Corporation. Thirdly the study analyzes the features that appear in housing units and draws out factors of remodeling This research's result Is arranged as follows. \circled1Need Remodeling thorough study of space expanded, grant between artificer and active performance improvement direction such as building equipment expansion along with Remodeling concept of unit repair. \circled2When apartments are newly built, systematic construction is necessary that considers future efficiency improvement from the design stage. \circled3This study, which applied the characteristic factors appearing after the 1990s to remodeling factors, show that they can be applied when remodeling the worn out wall-slab type apartments.

The directions of recent library construction and operation reflect people's changed lifestyle and suggest innovative spaces specialized on the basis of the local environment. Hence, as the goals of the operation of (tentatively named) Songdaeso Library to be constructed within the Hantangang River UNESCO Global Geopark, this study proposes 'acting as complex cultural facilities,' 'operating stay-type reading culture space which is a shrine for workcation,' and 'acting as the landmark of A-gun (郡, county).' And this study works out strategies for its operation, which includes 'securing the validity of the construction of (tentatively named) Songdaeso Library,' 'linking to library policy as the driving force behind its operation,' and 'demonstrating the necessity for the existence of the library arising from the operation of the geological specialized library through landscape architecture.' It also presents concomitant operating plans, which are categorized into plans for manpower, library books, services, and budget.

지난 8월 17일부터 23일까지 몽골건축사협회 주최로 몽골 울란바토르에서 개최된 제30차 ARCASIA 이사회 및 제15차 포럼에 앞서 15일과 16일, 양일간 2009-2010 아카시아 건축상 심사가 이루어졌다. 전체 12개 부문에 대해 우리 협회는 8개 부문, 총 11개 작품을 제출하였으며 4개 부문에서 골드메달을 수상하는 영예를 안았다. 다세대주택부문(A-2:Multiple Family Residential Complexes)에서 최삼영(주. 가와 종합건축사사무소)회원의 '용인동백 아펠바움'이, 공공시설부문(B-4, Public Amenity: Industrial Buildings)에서는 최동호(건축사사무소 마당소리)회원의 '주엽어린이도서관'이, 복합용도시설부문(B-6:Mixed Use Developments)에서는 윤세한(주. 해안 종합건축사사무소)회원의 '용산 I PARK MALL'이, 산업시설부문(C:Industrial Buildings)에서는 신춘규(씨지에스 건축사사무소)회원의 '아임삭 오창 공장'이 골드메달을 수상했다. 다음은 심사에 참여한 이근창 국제위원회 전문위원의 심사평이다.

"사실 국가건축정책위원장 책임을 떠안는 것에 고민을 많이 했습니다. 작금 건축의 본질에 관해 꽤 진지하게 논하는 결정권자들이 많아진 상황에서 직을 맡은 이상 그냥 시간만 보내진 않을 겁니다. 평소 생각한 건축계의 부족한, 불합리한, 불비한 부분을 임기 중 완전히 고치진 못한다 하더라도 시작은 해놓고 끝내려 합니다." 작년 4월 취임한 승효상 대통령소속 국가건축정책위원장이 국내 건축계 현안에 대한 생각과 앞으로의 계획을 설명했다. 그가 걸어온 삶의 궤적에는 건축의 공공성 문화적 가치라는 단어들이 새겨져 있으며, 이는 그가 활동해 온 건축계 여러 운동 모임에서도 살펴볼 수 있다. 지식인으로서 마땅히 지녀야 할 건축사(Architect)의 책무에 관해서는 쓴소리도 서슴지 않았던 그다. 2014년 서울시 '초대 총괄건축가'로 선임돼 서울시의 도시정책과 건축문화, 공공 공간조성 등 도시계획 전반에 대해 역할을 했다면, 이젠 국가 건축정책의 목표와 관계 부처간 건축정책의 심의.조정까지 그 역할범위가 커졌다. 필드의 건축사라면 승효상 국가건축정책위원장에게 기대하는 바가 큰 게 사실이다. 실제 그의 취임 후 정부 내 국건위의 위상은 과거와 달라졌으며, 작년 9월 4일에는 문재인 대통령이 서울 은평구 구산동 도서관마을에서 열린 '대한민국 국민생활 SOC현장 방문, 동네 건축현장을 가다' 행사에 참석해 도서관, 체육관, 경로당 등 '생활 SOC 혁신의지'를 강조해 눈길을 끌었다. 최근 정부세종신청사 설계공모 관련 논란에는 "국토부에 소관 설계공모 규정을 고쳐야 함을 권고했다. 고칠 거다! 안 고치면 안 되게 돼 있다!"며 목소리에 힘을 주어 재차 강조했다. 제5기 대통령소속 국가건축정책위원장으로 선임돼 지난해 4월부터 역할을 해온 승효상 건축사를 종로구 동숭동 (주)종합건축사사무소 이로재(履露齋)에서 만났다.

The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for architectural planning of the library building for preserving ancient documents through analysis of the spatial composition(facility program, area ratio, space zoning, circulation system). This study suggests an outcome as follows. First, The facility program of the archives is composed with four kind functional area ; collection area, user area, administrative/management area, and service/public area ; Second, through the case studies, it was proven that more space was given to the collection area such as the preservation part when compared to other areas(39~56%). Third, there are some traits found based on the location of the stack room of the specialized libraries, the location of the preservation department, and the existence of the loading and unloading area. Fourth, it shows that the organization is related to the movement routes.

This study aimed to analyze the overall operation status of the Bank of Korea library representing the economic library in Korea, investigate user satisfaction and demand, and to propose a direction for the development of the economic library in the future. To this end, a case study was conducted on changes in the external environment of major libraries at home and abroad, and a user survey was conducted. As a result, the future tasks include introducing smart systems, robotics some library services, non-face-to-face service response spaces that reflect the times, introducing big data analysis services, strengthening user-tailored systems, and activating SNS communication. It proposed developing specialized libraries, online reference and research support services, and providing original DBs for publications to strengthen expertise, maintaining and expanding cloud services, maintaining and expanding cooperative projects, and collecting national knowledge and information.

The purpose of this study is to find out how to effectively utilize the public facilities site that is being used in the new town for the expansion of newly required public facilities, because it is difficult to carry out redevelopment projects in apartment complexes of 1st generation new town due to the rigidity of land use and macroeconomic conditions. This study examined the following three ways to effectively utilize existing public facilities sites for Pyeongchon new town. First, it suggested how to secure the parking lot by deciding multi-dimensional urban planning facility of public facilities such as parks and schools in superblock that lacks parking space of apartment complex. Second, it suggested a plan to accommodate the demands of public facilities required by increasing the building density of existing public buildings in commercial district as an example of the Anyang Tax Office. Lastly, it suggested a way to install additional functions required by users through the reorganization of the existing public facilities and some extensions by examining the Pyeongchon library.
