With the recent changes in society and the introduction of new technologies, the usage patterns of parks have become diverse, leading to increased complexity in park management. As a result, there is a growing demand for flexible and diverse park management that can adapt to these new requirements. However, there is inadequate discussion on these new demands and whether urban park management policies can respond. Therefore, empirical research on how park usage patterns are evolving is critical. To address this, blog data, in which individuals share their experiences, was used to examine the spatial consumption patterns through semantic network and topic analysis. This study also explored whether these spatial consumption patterns exhibit experiential consumption characteristics according to the experience economy theory. The results showed that consumption behaviors, such as renting picnic sets and having food and drinks delivered, were prominent and that emotional experiences were pursued. Furthermore, these findings were consistent with the experiential consumption characteristics of the experience economy theory. This suggests that park planning and maintenance methods need to become more flexible and diverse in response to the changing demands for park usage.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the spatial characteristics of the children's library and user's behavioral characteristics and to empirically analyze the difference in preference of the spatial characteristics based on the using behaviors. For doing this, this study selected 16 children's libraries in the country as a sampling institute and collected and analyzed 661 questionnaires targeting infants, and the lower and upper graders. The results of analysis are as follows. First, while there was a difference in the relation between the spatial characteristics and the user's characteristics according to ages and sexes, there was no difference in the developing stage. Second, there was a difference in the relation between the spatial characteristics and the using behaviors. Detailed results are as follows. While users who visit the library for reading prefer amenity and peacefulness, those who visit the library for other reasons prefer communication and territoriality. Children prefer diversity, peacefulness and communication when they visit in group rather than to visit individually. In terms of behavioral patterns, users who act quietly prefer diversity than those who act actively. Reading use frequency, as the number of times to visit increased, preference on esthetic sense, dynamics, flexibility, leisure, communication and territoriality increased, but preference on safety decreased. As the length of visit became longer, preference on diversity, self-esteem, peacefulness, dynamics and flexibility increased.

This study examines user satisfaction and information behavior of information commons in the National Digital Library (NDL) of Korea through survey method. It analyzed service quality factors that affect the overall user satisfaction, and users' information behavior according to the physical spaces/facilities in the information commons. User satisfaction factors were developed to measure library satisfaction in all aspects of the eleven physical spaces/facilities of information commons service, and information behavior on eleven physical spaces/facilities in information commons were explored by users' character. According to survey findings, overall level of user satisfaction was maintained highly since the beginning of NDL. In particular, the facility of 'Productivity Computer Cluster' was ranked highest as 83.8 and the 'UCC Studio' was ranked lowest as 70.8 among the eleven facilities in information commons.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the usage behavior of Seoullo 7017, the first public garden in Korea, to understand the usage status by analyzing blogs, and to present usage behavior and improvement plans for Seoullo 7017. From June 2017 to May 2020, after Seoullo 7017 was open to citizens, character data containing 'Seoullo 7017' in the title and contents of NAVER and·DAUM blogs were converted to text mining and socialization, a Big Data technique. The analysis was conducted using social network analysis. The summary of the research results is as follows. First of all, the ratio of men and women searching for Seoullo 7017 online is similar, and the regions that searched most are in the order of Seoul and Gyeonggi, and those in their 40s and 50s were the most interested. In other words, it can be seen that there is a lack of interest in regions other than Seoul and Gyeonggi and among those in their 10s, 20s, and 30s. The main behaviors of Seoullo 7017 are' night view' and 'walking', and the factors that affect culture and art are elements related to culture and art. If various programs and festivals are opened and actively promoted, the main behavior will be more varied. On the other hand, the main behavior that the users of Seoullo 7017 want is 'sit', which is a static behavior, but the physical conditions are not sufficient for the behavior to occur. Therefore, facilities that can cause sitting behavior, such as shades and benches must be improved to meet the needs of visitors. The peculiarity of the change in the behavior of Seoullo 7017 is that it is recognized as a good place to travel alone and a good place to walk alone as a public multi-use facility and group activities are restricted due to COVID-19. Accordingly, in a situation like the COVD-19 pandemic, more diverse behaviors can be derived in facilities where people can take a walk, etc., and the increase of various attractions and the satisfaction of users can be increased. Seoullo 7017, as Korea's first public pedestrian area, was created for urban regeneration and the efficient use of urban resources in areas beyond the meaning of public spaces and is a place with various values such as history, nature, welfare, culture, and tourism. However, as a result of the use behavior analysis, various behaviors did not occur in Seoullo 7017 as expected, and elements that hinder those major behaviors were derived. Based on these research results, it is necessary to understand the usage behavior of Seoullo 7017 and to establish a plan for spatial system and facility improvement, so that Seoullo 7017 can be an important place for urban residents and a driving force to revitalize the city.

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship between travel behavior and urban spatial characteristics in a hierarchical manner. Method: This study analyzed the relationship between traffic patterns and urban spatial characteristics for 83 cities in Korea by using a hierarchical linear model. Results: It was found that the urban spatial characteristics influenced the choice of transportation mode and travel time with personal attributes. However, the degree of influence on the choice of the means and the time required is relatively low through the policy of changing the city attribute, so the policy effect of mobilizing the land use policy for the traffic is theoretically, but the scale is not bigger than expected. Conclusion: In high density or the bigger scale of the city, the mass transportation system is widely supplied and used, but it does not overcome the drawback that it takes more time than the autos.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how library visitors use spaces in the library and to make suggestions for improving library use environments. Library use patterns were analyzed by tracking the users' smartphone WiFi. A library located in Seoul, Korea was selected and detectors were installed in the library. The suggestions from the results analyzing data collected between September, 2016 and December, 2016 were as followed. 27.17% of library visitors used a space in the library. Among them, 28.69% used the lobby to return their checked-out materials. Therefore, the library is recommended to install a device in the area in which users are easy to return their items. Additionally, since the spatial relationship between cultural program room and book shelves was low, those programs might be improved by providing library materials related with them.

The study aimed to explore media use by digital natives in Korea. To date, Korea is a country that has both the highest level of digital natives and fastest Internet access in the world. The study also intended to deeply understand the simultaneous activity use of different media and determined the characteristics of Korean digital natives. Based on Korea Media Panel Data for 2015, analyses of the digital natives' traits of time-space, media use, and simultaneous use of media were made through a statistic multi-correspondent method. The results showed that spatial attribute and media use of digital natives are homogeneous in pattern and the degree of simultaneous use of media seems to be limited in type. Moreover, the study suggested the new concept of digital natives' media use and the need for various studies showing the relationship between media use and the Internet generation.
