  • A spatial data warehouse is a system to support decision making using a spatial data cube. A spatial data cube is composed of a dimension table and a fact table. For decision support using this spatial data cube, the concept hierarchy of spatial dimension and the summarized information of spatial fact should be provided. In the previous researches, however, spatial summarized information is deficient. In this paper, the spatial aggregation for spatial summarized information in a spatial data warehouse is proposed. The proposed spatial aggregation is separated of both the numerical aggregation and the object aggregation. The numerical aggregation is the operation to return a numerical data as a result of spatial analysis and the object aggregation returns the result represented to object. We provide the extended struct of spatial data for spatial aggregation and so our proposed method is efficient.

  • In this paper, we have proposed the non-duplication loading method for supporting spatio-temporal analysis in spatial data warehouse. SDW(Spatial Data Warehouse) extracts spatial data from SDBMS that support various service of different machine. In proposed methods, it extracts updated parts of SDBMS that is participated to source in SDW. And it removes the duplicated data by spatial operation, then loads it by integrated forms. By this manner, it can support fast analysis operation for spatial data and reduce a waste of storage space. Proposed method loads spatial data by efficient form at application of analysis and prospect by time like spatial mining.

  • In Korea, u-City has been constructed as IT-based new city with introduction of the ubiquitous concept. However, most currently provided u-services are just monitoring services based on the USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technology, so spatial analysis is insufficient. Especially, buildings have been rapidly constructed and expanded in multi-levels, and people spend a lot of time in indoor space, so indoor spatial analysis is necessary. Therefore, connectivity relationship in indoor space is analyzed using the topological data model. Topological relationships could be redefined due to the dynamic changes of environment in indoor space, and changes could have an effect on analysis results. In this paper, the algorithms of finding isolated zones is developed by analyzing connectivity relationship between space objects in built-environments after changes of environment in indoor space due to specific situation such as fire. And the system that visualizes isolated zones as well as three-dimensional data structure of indoor space is developed to get the analysis result by using the analysis algorithms.

  • In most of the urbanized cities, socio-economic attributes tend to cluster as patterns of similarity in space, namely spatial autocorrelation, by agglomeration forces. The classical linear regression model, the most frequently adopted in the trip generation step, cannot sufficiently represent this effect. In order to take into account the effect properly, we need a model which adequately deals with the spatial dependence patterns. In this study, the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) model is adopted as an alternative method for the local analysis of relationships in multivariate data sets; that is GWR extends this traditional regression framework by estimating local rather than global parameters. This study shows the existence of spatial effects in the production and attraction of home base/non-home based trips through the GWR model using travel data collected in Daegu metropolitan area. Furthermore, LISA is employed to verify the fact that the local spatial autocorrelation exists.

  • Spatial distribution analysis of industrial locations plays a very important role in the establishment of relevant spatial policies and plans. The first thing to consider in this analysis is what analysis indicators and spatial units are used, because the interpretation of the analysis results may vary depending on the analysis indicators and the spatial units. Therefore, this study first examines various industrial integration indicators considering spatial autocorrelation and suggests the classification of regional types of industrial aggregation through the combination of related indicators. And then, this paper aims to empirically analyze the root industry by presenting a methodology for analyzing industrial integration by various spatial units such as individual locations, grids, and administrative districts. The results of the empirical analysis show that the grid in the spatial unit can be analyzed in more detail than the administrative unit. In addition, it is expected to overcome the limitations such as differences in interpretation that may occur due to the setting of spatial units. In the classification of regional types, the south-eastern region of Ulsan, Busan, and Changwon, and the western region of the SMA of Incheon, Hwaseong, and Ansan were analyzed as the industrial cluster type.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the determinants of the change in the welfare expenditure of local governments in 2015. This study analyzed the spatial correlation of welfare expenditure among neighboring local governments and determined the factors affecting the welfare expenditures. According to the results of the study, spatial correlation of welfare expenditure among local governments appears. Determinants, such as socio-economic factors, administrative factors, public financial factors are affecting the amount of the welfare expenditures, but local political factors, and local tax, last year's budgets are not correlated with the amount of local welfare expenditures. In this study, it is significant to found out that the spatial correlation of welfare expenditure among the local governments and to examine the determinants. If possible, it is necessary to analyze the time-series analysis using the multi-year welfare expenditure data, expecially self-welfare expenditures.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze library space use patterns through users' smartphone WiFi. This study is applied a method to detect WiFi signal of users' smartphone to analyze the in-library wayfinding of users. The library usage data were collected for four months in a library in Seoul, Korea. The results show that the average 37.9% of library users revisits the library the next month. Half of users stay under 7 minutes in the library. Users mainly visit the library between 2 and 3 o'clock, and few users visit the library after 5 pm on weekends. The floor moving pattern result shows that the co-visit rate between the third and fourth floor is higher than others, in that these two floors are mainly composed of book shelves. These results indicate that the method to detect the WiFi signal for spatial pattern analysis could be more effective than observation which was used in previous research. It, therefore, is expected that this method would be applied in other libraries to analyze and enhance the library space usage.

  • The spatial distribution characteristics and patterns of geographic features in space can be understood through a variety of analysis techniques. The scale is one of most important factors in spatial analysis techniques. This study is aimed at identifying the characteristics of spatial data with a coarser spatial resolution and finding procedures for spatial resolution in operational scale. To achieve these objectives, this study selected LANSAT TM imagery for Sunchon Bay, a coastal wetland for a study site, applied the indices for representing scale characteristics with resolution, and compared those indices. Local variance and fractal dimension developed by previous studies were applied to measure the textual characteristics. In this study, Moran s I was applied to measure spatial pattern change of variance data which were generated from the process of coarser resolution. Drawing upon the Moran s I of variancedata was optimum technique for analysing spatial structure than those of previous studies (local variance and fractal dimension). When the variance data represents maximum Moran´s I at certainly resolution, spatial data reveals maximum change at that resolution. The optimum resolution for spatial data can be explored by applying these results.
