Analysis on the Effects of the Heat Loss Coefficient on the Operation Time of Sprinkler in Compartment Fire (구획 화재에서 스프링클러 열 손실계수 변화에 따른 작동 시간 분석)

  • In this study, the experiment conditions for the variation of heat release rate in compartment space were constructed to analyze the effects of fire spread and the operation time of sprinkler in accordance with the heat loss of the sprinkler's heat element. The compartment composed of fire board (width = 0.3 m, height = 0.5 m, length = 3.0 m), are manufactured to measure the temperature distributions in the inner space, the mass loss rate and heat release rate during the experiment of N-heptane pool fire test. Also, the operation time of sprinkler is analyzed with the installation of sprinkler and C-factor using Fire Dynamics Simulator Ver.6 under the experiment conditions. The results show that the operation time of sprinkler, which has RTI $100(m{\cdot}s)^{0.5}$ operating temperature $70^{\circ}C$, is 30 s~60 s for C-factor = 0 and 1, 62 s~92 s for C-factor = 3, and 120 s over for C-factor = 5, respectively.

An Approach for Establishing Conceptual Framework of Management Spectirum on the Baekdudaegan Area, Korean (백두대간의 개념적 관리범위모형 수립을 위한 접근)

  • The purpose of this study was to establish a conceptual management spectrum framework for integrated management of Baekdudaegan area. The conceptual model was developed through a literature survey that includes the concepts from existing relevant systems and other expert sources In conceptual Baekdudaegan management spectrum framework presented here, three different classes (preservation, buffer, and multiple-use) that specify potential management objectives for area functions were classified in order to pursue management flexibility Three primary management classes should be identified by evaluating Indicators of ecological, physical, and social.cultural environments. An application of the framework requires an explicit selection of indicators and their evaluation. For establishing reliability of the framework, it will be desirable to test it empirically in Baedudaegan areas in the future. In addition, systematic case study for selecting appropriate indicators and identifying evaluation standards must be done.

Evaluation of Design Fire Curves for Gas Fires in a Compartment Using CFAST (CFAST를 이용한 구획실 가스화재의 디자인 화재곡선 평가)

  • In this study, the prediction performance of design fire curves (DF) was evaluated for gas fires in a compartment by using CFAST. The CFAST simulations adopted the 2-stage DF suggested by the previous study and the Quadratic and Exponential DF suggested by Ingason. It was found by comparing the simulation and experimental results that the overall prediction performance of the design fire cures for the spatially-averaged temperature and concentrations of $O_2$ and $CO_2$ was, from the most reasonable to the most inaccurate, 2-stage DF > Quadratic DF > Exponential DF. The CFAST simulation could not predict for the difference in the spatially-averaged temperature and concentrations of $O_2$ and $CO_2$ at door and inner side locations in a compartment. The CFAST simulations also showed a limitation in the prediction of the spatially-averaged temperature at lower layer and the concentration of CO.

  • 방위, 경사, 고도 와 같은 지형인자는 생태현상에 영향을 미치는 대표적인 환경인자로, 생태현상을 파악 및 예측하기 위해서는 이들 지형인자의 분석이 필요하다. 또한 지형인자 분석에 앞서 이용자료의 격자크기를 결정해야한다. 본 연구는 소나무의 공간분포와 출현패턴을 생태학적으로 잘 설명하기 위한 DEM의 최적 격자크기를 제안하고, 궁극적으로는 생태적으로 중요한 최적의 공간구획방법을 찾고자하였다. 그 결과, 200m의 격자크기를 갖는 DEM은 주능선에 의해 방위를 동, 서, 남으로만 구분한 반면, 1m 격자크기의 DEM은 작은 부능선들에 의해 방위를 동, 서, 남, 북으로 구분하였다. 일정규모 이하의 격자크기에서 소나무는 모든 방위에 나타났지만, 격자크기가 증가함에 따라 북쪽과 남쪽 사면에서의 출현빈도는 점차 감소하였다. 또한, 200m 격자크기에서의 빈도분석은 육안분석에서처럼 소나무가 주로 서쪽과 동쪽 사면에 출현한다는 것을 보였다. 능선으로부터의 거리에 따른 소나무 출현빈도는 60m이상의 거리를 두고 분석하였을 때, 육안분석과 같이 소나무가 능선주변에 주로 분포하는 것으로 나타났다.

Submarket Identification in Property Markets: Focusing on a Hedonic Price Model Improvement (부동산 하부시장 구획: 헤도닉 모형의 개선을 중심으로)

  • Two important issues in hedonic model are to specify accurate model and delineate submarkets. While the former has experienced much improvement over recent decades, the latter has received relatively little attention. However, the accuracy of estimates from hedonic model will be necessarily reduced when the analysis does not adequately address market segmentation which can capture the spatial scale of price formation process in real estate. Placing emphasis on improvement of performance in hedonic model, this paper tried to segment real estate markets in Gangnam-gu and Jungrang-gu, which correspond to most heterogeneous and homogeneous ones respectively in 25 autonomous districts of Seoul. First, we calculated variable coefficients from mixed geographically weighted regression model (mixed GWR model) as input for clustering, since the coefficient from hedonic model can be interpreted as shadow price of attributes constituting real estate. After that, we developed a spatially constrained data-driven methodology to preserve spatial contiguity by utilizing the SKATER algorithm based on a minimum spanning tree. Finally, the performance of this method was verified by applying a multi-level model. We concluded that submarket does not exist in Jungrang-gu and five submarkets centered on arterial roads would be reasonable in Gangnam-gu. Urban infrastructure such as arterial roads has not been considered an important factor for delineating submarkets until now, but it was found empirically that they play a key role in market segmentation.

  • Upon changing architectural education system into 5-year program, the design studio in university should meet the requirement in order to acquire the accredition. This study investigates on student' perceptions and responses, according to the configuration(open, mixed, closed), to their studio environment. Results and suggestions are as follows for all types: First, there should be space for individual activities for the student: Second, excluding space for excluding space for the individual work, seperated area must be provided for co-operative work, such as making models; Third, a clear territorial distintion between the individual and the co-work space should be able to set by the students, using. for instance, movable partition or corridor; Fourth, however, in line with the types, a seperated lecture or seminar room in the open type, a device to prevent distraction such as noise in the mixed type, and more space for co-work in the closed type are also suggested.

The Real Fire Test in Bedroom for the Performance Based Fire Design (성능기반 화재안전설계를 위한 침실 공간에서의 실화재 실험)

  • For The performance based fire design of the buildings, the fire characteristic such as proceeding and scale of the fire should be figured out but, there is lack of relevant information because of different conditions and difficulties of mock-up test like type of division space, ventilation condition, etc, in buildings. Therefore, in the study, a heal release rate etc, the engineering characteristic data value on the fire is proposed by mock-up fire test for division space in buildings. The mock-up fire test is carried out in a bedroom with 2.4 (L) ${\times}$ 3.6 (W) ${\times}$ 2.4 (H) m model. Initial ignition was started from trash box and the test was carried out for 30 min. As a result of the fire test, flame was broken to outside within 7 min and 50 s after starting the test and the maximum heat release rate was measured as 3,810.6 kW at 9 min and 34 s.

  • 워터스크린(이하 W/S)에 의한 화재방화시스템은 도로터널에 화재가 발생시, 공간에 수막을 사용하여 구획화하고, 열 연기의 확산을 억제하며 유해 부유입자를 세정함으로서 인간의 안전을 확보 및 구조물의 피해를 극소화 하는 시스템이다. 이 W/S에 의한 구획의 성능을 평가하기 위해, 1/2의 터널 모형에 의한 공간 내 열 성장 파악을 위한 화재 실험을 분석하였고, 그 결과, 천정 근방 온도 및 방사수열량으로서는 발열 속도의 크기, 풍속의 대소에 의하지 않고 약 80%의 저감율을 나타냈다. 또, 발생한 유해 부유입자 농도에 대해서는 약 60%, 화원 성질과 상태로서 발열 속도는 약30%의 W/S에 의한 저감 효과를 나타내었다.

Gyeongbu Highway: Political Economic Geography of Mobility and Demarcation (경부고속도로: 이동성과 구획화의 정치경제지리)

  • This paper examines the process of Gyeongbu Highway construction from the standpoint of political economy, which was pursued by President Park Jeong-Hee in the 1960s, focusing on the politics of mobility and demarcation implied in it. As results of examination, it can be argued that Gyeongbu Highway was seen as a powerful element to promote a socio-spatial integration of population and hence to enforce an authoritative political power of the Park regime through creation of mobility; that it has had an strong impact on changing the physical landscape of national space and the spatio-temporal rhythm of everyday life by extending the 'machine space' as a non-place; that it has provided a physical infrastructure on which the period of capital circulation could be reduced through its effect of space-time compression. But Gyeongbu Highway has led serious problems such as uneven regional development, expansion of non-place or alienated place, ecological destruction and pollution. In conclusion, a sustainable politics is suggested to overcome this kind of 'tragedy of highway' and to develop the highway as a true way of political and spatial balance and integration.
