A New Higher-Order Hybrid-Mixed Element for Curved Beam Vibrations (곡선보의 자유진동해석을 위한 고차 혼합요소)

  • In this study, we propose a new efficient 2-noded hybrid-mixed element for curved beam vibrationshaving a uniform and non-uniform cross section. The present element considering transverse shear strain is based on Hellinger-Reissner variational principle and introduces additional nodeless degrees for displacement field interpolation in order to enhance the numerical performance. The stress parameters are eliminated by the stationary condition and then the nodeless degrees are condensed out by the Guyan reduction. In the performance evaluation process of the present field-consistent higher-order element, we carefully examine the effects of field consistency and the role of higher-order interpolation functions on the hybrid-mixed formulation. Several benchmark tests confirm e superior behavior of the present hybrid-mixed element for curved beam vibrations.

  • 우리나라와 같이 산악지형이 많은 곳에서는 불가피하게 곡선형태의 교량을 적용해야하는 경우가 빈번하게 발생한다. 또한 곡선교량은 지형적 제약 조건으로 인한 적용 이외 에도 경관적 아름다움으로 인해 많이 건설되고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 곡선 교량의 경우 직선 교량보다 형상적인 문제로 비틀림과 뒤틀림으로 인해 다른 거동 양상을 보이며 특히 동적인 거동에서는 매우 다른 거동 형태를 보인다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 곡선 보의 유한요소 모델을 구축하여 정적해석을 수행하고 이를 이론해와 비교하여 검증하고자 하며 결과적으로 구축된 유한요소 모델의 결과와 이론해의 결과와 잘 부합한다고 판단된다.

  • 본 연구에서는 유한 회전에 의한 효과를 고려한 곡선 보요소를 개발하고, 이 요소를 이용하여 공간뼈대 구조물의 기하학적 비선형 해석을 수행하였다. 이 곡선 보요소는 증분 변위장에 Rodriguez의 2차 유한 회전항을 포함시킴으로써, 유한 회전에 의한 기하학적 평형을 유지하도록 하였다. 대변형 해석을 위하여 Total Lagrangian 방법이 적용되었으며, 비선형 해석을 수행하기 위한 알고리즘으로는, 여러개의 임계점을 갖는 비선형 거동가지도 추적할 수 있도록 하중 및 변위 증분의 조합법이 사용되었다. 공간 뼈대 구조물의 해석 예제를 통하여, 기하학적 비선형 해석에서 발생하는 유한 회전에 의한 효과를 확인하고, 본 연구에서 제안한 유한요소의 효율성 및 비선형 알고리즘으로 선택한 하중 및 변위 증분의 조합법의 적용성을 입증하였다.

The Analysis of Eigenvalue Problems of Curved Beam Using Curvature-Based Curved Beam Elements (곡률 곡선보요소에 의한 곡선보의 고유치문제 해석)

  • Curved beam element has received attention because of its own usefulness and its bearing on general curved elements like shells. In conventional curved beam elements stiffness matrix is overestimated and eigensolutions are poor. To avoid this phenomenon it is necessary to use a large number of elements and, as a result, the total number of degrees of freedom is increased. In this paper the two-noded, with three degrees of freedom at each node, in-plane curvature-based curbed beam element is employed in eigen-analysis of curved beam. It is shown that the curvature-based beam element is very efficient in vibration analysis and also that it is applicable to both thin and thick curved beams.

  • This study presented 3D Finite Element (FE) analysis of curved beam structures subjected to static and dynamic loading conditions, which is particularly strong ground motions. It was shown that the results obtained from 3D FE analyses was similar to the theoretical solution within 1% convergency error, in order to validate the 3D solid FE models in this study. In particular, it was focusing on development of dynamic characteristics of curved beam structures subjected to three-different seismic ground motions: GyeongJu, Lomaprieta and Northridge earthquakes. Consequently, It was interesting to find that the results obtained from GyeongJu earthquake was detuned due to high frequency effect, but the Von-Mises of the curved beam structure under Lomaprieta earthquake was 647.824 MPa at 45 curvature degree.

  • The Paper presents three methods for calculating the natural frequencies of cantilevered curved Beams. A summary is given of the development of two techniques: theoretic value and the result of the experiment. Theoretic value of curved beam vibration analysis are derived from complementary variational principles assuming as unknown stress-displacement result fields. In order to perform free vibration analysis of curved beam, Aluminum-made cantilevered curved beam is used in experiment.   • This study is performed to understand complex behavior and to investigate the rational analysis methods for seismic design of the curved bridges. To analyze the curved bridges for the seismic loadings, it is used that the finite element analysis program has the 7-dof curved beam and straight beam element. The free vibration characteristics of the curved bridges are compared with the straight bridges that have span length same as the average arc length of inside and outside girder of those. For the same case, the dynamic behavior is compared under seismic loadings. It is found that regular bridges classified by AASHTO are analyzed as if those were straight. To investigate the dynamic behavior of general curved bridges under seismic loading, the seismic loading directions and the subtended angle of curved bridges are varied.

  • In this study, it is presented analytic results of bending problems in the anisotropic curved thick beam and the anisotropic curved thin beam. The anisotropy is that the material properties are different in each directions and it is difficult to solve the analytical solutions because the behavior is complex. In applying numerical method to solve differential equations of anisotropic curved beams, this study uses the finite element method. Both thin beam theory and thick beam theory are used as the basic governing equations of bending problems in the anisotropic beams. The analytic results are compared between the anisotropic curved thick beams and the anisotropic curved thin beams.

  • In this study, the buckling analysis of the vertically curved stiffened web plate was conducted through finite-element analysis, using an eight- and nine-node flat shell element with a substitute shear strain field. To investigate the buckling behavior of the vertically curved web plate with a longitudinal or vertical stiffener under in-plane moment loading, parametric studies were conducted for the variation of the width (b) and ratio of the bending stiffness of the stiffener to that of the plate (${\gamma}=EI/bD$). The static behavior of the vertically curved web plate without a stiffener was also investigated, and then the buckling abilities of the longitudinal and vertical stiffeners were compared under moment loading.

  • 본 연구는 퍼지모델링을 이용한 고속 소형선의 전체 저항곡선 및 마력곡선을 고속 소형선의 선형요소 자료들로부터 퍼지모델링 알고리즘을 통해 도출하고, 그 결과를 모형시 험 결과와 비교하고 있다. 또한 퍼지모델링 알고리즘에 의한 전체 저항곡선 및 마력곡선이 고속 소형선의 선형요소 결정에 효율적으로 적용됨을 보이고 있다.
