Analysis on Response Characteristics of a Flexible Net Sheet in Waves (파랑중 유연한 그물망의 응답특성 해석)

  • Based on the hydroelastic theory and the matched eigenfunction expansion method(MEEM), the dynamic behavior of the porous flexible net sheet and wave forces have been investigated in monochromatic waves. The net sheet is installed vertically with the submergence depth. Top end of a net sheet is fixed and its lower end is attached by a clump weight. It is assumed that the initial tension is sufficiently large so that the effects of dynamictension variation can be neglected. The boundary condition on the porous flexible net sheet is derived based on Darcy's fine-pore model and body boundary condition. The developed analytic model can be extended to the impermeable/permeable vertical plate and the impermeable flexible membrane. The analytical model was used to study the influence of design parameters(wave characteristics, porosity, submergence depth, initial tension) on the response characteristics and wave load of the net sheet.

  • Output Characteristics of the spaceborn image sensor such as infrared(IR) sensor are varied according to time elapses and sensor repetition on/off operation. As a result, the quality of IR sensor image is decreased. Therefore, spaceborne image sensor require a periodic calibration using a black body system by correcting a non-uniformity of the sensor. In this paper, we proposed a MEMS-based black body system that can implement the high temperature uniformity at various standard temperatures ranging from low to high temperature and easily estimate the representative surface temperature. In addition, it has advantages lightweight, low-power and high accuracy. The feasibility of the proposed MEMS-based black body system was verified through the thermal analysis.

Identification of Structural Defects in Rail Fastening Systems Using Flexural Wave Propagation (굽힘파 전파 특성을 이용한 레일체결장치의 구조 결함 진단)

  • An experimental method based on flexural wave propagation is proposed for identification of structural damage in rail fastening systems. The vibration of a rail clamped and supported by viscoelastic pads is significantly influenced by dynamic support properties. Formation of a defect in the rail fastening system induces changes in the flexural wave propagation characteristics owning to the discontinuity in the structural properties. In this study, frequency-dependent support stiffness was measured to monitor this change by a transfer function method. The sensitivity of wave propagation on the defect was measured from the potential energy stored in a continuously supported rail. Further, the damage index was defined as a correlation coefficient between the change in the support stiffness and the sensitivity. The defect location was identified from the calculated damage index.

Vibration Control of High-rise Building Structures using Top-story Isolation Systems (최상층면진시스템을 활용한 고층건물의 진동제어)

  • In this study, the possibility of vibration control of high-rise building structures by applying top-story isolation has been investigated. To this end, El Centro NS (1940) earthquake load is applied to 20- and 50-story building structures for numerical analysis. Artificial wind loads are used to evaluate the serviceability of example structures against wind vibration. As the number of isolated stories of example buildings is changed, structural responses has been evaluated to investigate optimal isolated building mass. And the natural period of isolation systems for top-story isolation is varied to investigate the improvement of control performance compared with the fixed base structure. Based on the analytical results, the top-story isolation system can be used as a hued mass damper and effectively reduce the structural responses of high-rise buildings against wind and seismic loads.

  • For a P2P network, the contents distribution is a very important service because the contents provider is not fixed. And in the P2P media streaming, a request peer replays and saves media data simultaneously, and after streaming it acts as a new source peer providing media files to other peers. Therefore streaming and file saying operations should be simultaneously carried out in order to distribute contents through the P2P network. In this paper, a P2P multi-source media streaming system which can replay the contents data during downloading is proposed and implemented. The system reduces the user response time and the number of simultaneous user increases more than two times. Moreover, transmitting a part of media file makes fast distribution and diffusion of contents possible.

  • Since high speed and precision control shoud be satisfied in the position control system, the DC servo motor with easy control and satisfactory response characteristic is used. The various studies of position control techniques have been proposed in order to improve the control performance in the position control system. In this paper, the design method for a position control is suggested for constructing the PD controller in I-PD control system. The coefficients of PD controller in the I-PD control system are determined by using the transfer function which is normalized. Stability and root conditions of the system are derived from mathematical technique. From the result of computer simulation in I-PD control system by applying this control technique, is investigated by the method of proposed design the effectiveness of system response characteristic for input and disturbance.

Model Reference Adaptive Control of a Quadrotor Considering the Uncertainty of Payload (유상하중의 불확실성을 고려한 쿼드로터의 모델 참조 적응제어 기법 설계)

  • In transportation missions using quadrotor, the payload may change the model parameters, such as mass, moment of inertia, and center of gravity. Moreover, if position of the payload is constantly changing during flight, the effect can adversely affect the control performances. To handle this issue, we suggest Model Reference Adaptive Control based on Linear Quadratic Regulator(LQR+MRAC) to compensate the uncertainty caused by payload. Firstly, the mathematical modeling with the fixed payload is derived. Second, Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) is used to design the reference model and baseline controller. Also, through the Stability method, Adaptive law is derived to estimate the model parameters. To verify the performance of proposed control scheme, we compared LQR and LQR+MRAC in situations where uncertainties exist. And, when the disturbance exist, the classic MRAC and proposed controller is compared to analyze the transient response and robustness.

Erection Sequence Analysis of Suspension Bridge Considering to Sliding of Main Cable (주케이블의 슬라이딩을 고려한 현수교의 시공단계 해석)

  • Anchors and saddles are used to have sufficient geometrical rigidity and make target configuration of main cable of suspension bridge. Neglecting the sliding effect at saddles, points at them have been idealized as fixed nodes in lots of former studies. In general, sliding effects are reported to show significant structural behaviors of main cable and cause to the different responses of bridges. During early erection steps of the suspension bridge, especially, the sliding effect occurs easily because there is large difference of cable tension between main and side span in removing set-back ropes or not applying set-back. This study presents the finite element analysis considering to cable sliding effect and shows the comparison of differences between sliding and non-sliding at election sequence. The analysis of sliding between main cables and saddles needs to obtain more realistic responses because the analysis result can represent unfavorably different responses of bridges. Moreover, the sliding analysis method and results in this study can be used to basic criteria in engineering design and construction steps.

  • 미진동 제어라는 분야에 대한 연구는 반도체 산업이 초고도화 및 초정밀화가 진전되고 있는 최근에 들어와 학계보다는 전문 반도체와 TFT-LCD의 미진동제어 관련 엔지니어 그룹과 정밀 장비 제작사를 중심으로 이루어져왔다. 고집적 생산 제품을 가공 및 검사하기 위해서는 가공 선폭 이상의 분해 성능을 가진 고정밀도의 생산 및 검사 장비가 필요하다. 이런 고정밀도 생산 및 검사장비는 내외부로부터 입력되는 진동에 민감한 영향을 받는다. 초기 반도체 산업을 주도한 미국을 중심으로 일부 학자와 반도체 진동 제어를 수행하는 전문연구소에서 작성한 BBN-Criteria는 정밀장비의 용도나 분해능 별로 정리된 진동허용규제치를 지침서로 사용하여 왔다. 그러나 장비의 엄밀한 주파수 특성 및 정밀도 측면에서 불확실한 영역부분을 가지고 있기 때문에 미소한 진동을 제어하는 구조 설계자 관점에서는 불충분한 자료이다. 그리고 주파수 분해능을 가진 진동허용규제치를 제시하는 것이 바람직하지만 대부분의 제작사에서는 그렇지 못하고 있다. 그런 이유에는 장비 개개의 진동허용규제치가 다른 고가의 장비 전량에 대하여 시험을 수행해야 하는 점, 가진(加振)특성, 중량, 크기 등의 진동실험 자체에 어려움 때문이다. 또한 진동실험시 가진주파수의 분해능의 결려에 따른 장비의 동적 특성이 고려되지 않은 불확실한 영역 부분을 포함한 진동허용규제치를 제시함으로서 불확실한 영역부분의 진동 하한치를 진동허용규제치의 상한치로 결정하는 문제로 인하여 진동허용규제치가 더욱 가혹하게 제시되어 건물 구조 설계와 방진의 어려움을 가중시킬 여지가 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 어려움 등을 회피하는 방법으로 주파수응답함수(Frequency Response Function, FRF)를 이용하여 정밀장비의 진동허용규제치를 결정하는 간편하면서도 더욱 정밀한 새로운 방법을 모색하였다.

Long-Term Measurement of Static Strains of Jacket Type Offshore Structure under Severe Tidal Current Environments (빠른 조류 환경에서의 재킷식 해양구조물 시공 중 및 운영 중 장기 변형률 계측 및 분석)

  • In this study, structural strain responses of the jacket-type Uldolmok tidal current power plant structure under severe tidal environments were measured and analyzed using long-term measurement system during construction and also operation. It was observed that there were significant changes in strain responses at the steps of jacket lifting, block loading, pile ejection and insertion. Strains due to dead loads and tidal loads were analyzed before and after removal of a jacket leg, and it was also found that the strains due to dead load were much significantly changed after jacket leg removal. From the measurement data during operation, it was found that strain responses were fluctuated with M2 and M4 tidal periods and also relatively short period of about 10 min due to the peculiar tidal characteristics in the Uldolmok strait. Finally, the neural network-based non-parametric estimation models were investigated to build up the signal-based structural damage monitoring system.
