Design of ILS M&S for RAM Analysis in Guided Weapon System (유도무기체계 RAM분석을 위한 ILS M&S 설계)

  • M&S techniques are utilized for various purposes on the national defense, and its importance is increasing than ever. For analyzing RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) of weapon system, using M&S techniques can be more effective and practical way than deterministic approach, because M&S approach can consider uncertain variables and various constraints in the ILS (Integrated Logistics support) field. For design of ILS M&S, we first set up a purpose of M&S, attributes of real system and other similar ILS M&S tool. Then, we convert real system into model which consists of mathematical formula and logical expression. In this thesis, we introduce modeling procedures of M&S that describes total life cycle of 'OO guided weapon system' and the contents proposed in this paper can provide references for developing other M&S tool.

Measurement System for Vehicle Electric Power using LabVIEW (LabVIEW를 이용한 자동차 발전기 전압 계측시스템)

  • Faults in electric power system can be a critical problem for vehicles. The system durability is determined mainly by the durability of their components and operating conditions. Monitoring the conditions of the electric power system may be necessary because it is very difficult to predict precisely when it will fail. Therefore, the aim of this study was to develop a diagnosis system for an electric power system of a vehicle. The alternator voltage, excitation voltage, lamp voltage, battery voltage, and engine rpm from a crank angle sensor are monitored continuously and the system fault can be then detected in real time. NI USB- 9201 DAQ and LabVIEW SW have been used to measure the voltages and analyze the data. Compared to conventional measurements for only each component, an integrated and portable measurement method was developed. In addition to the monitoring the electric power system in real time, the saved data from the measurement also provides valuable information to improve the durability of the components.

  • It is very important to minimize the maintenance cost on easy accessibility in the production information system, change of production process line, and system expansion for globalization of logistics and production in the steel and manufacturing. In this paper, we design applying design patterns of object-oriented as well as implement web-based integrated manufacturing management system using JSP for easy accessibility of users and reduction of maintenance cost on business expansion and system integration. In addition, The proposed MES system supports various functionality such as equipment master code management, equipment management, inspection management, repair management, failure management, and statistic management in detail.

  • In Republic of Korea, there are considerable vulnerability in electrical stimulating swallowing-assist equipments even though they are professional medical equipments and have high penetration rate with heavy frequency of use. Therefore, in this article, we developed Device Management and Safety Diagnosis Manual for Electrical Stimulating Swallowing-Assist Equipments system. For achieving this, we collected and analysed international standard data from international organizations like International Electrotechnical Commission(IEC). After literature reviews, we build maintenance worksheet and equipment procedure manual for electrical stimulating swallowing-assist equipments according to evidences we collected. These manual and protocol would be used as standard process and contribute to sustain accuracy, effectiveness of the devices, also decrease failure rate and assist to save medical documents.

  • Catenary and Pantograph are used to transmit electrical energy to electric railways. Catenary (Overhead Contact Lines) should be installed precisely and managed for stable train operations. But external factors such as weather, temperature, etc., or aging affect catenary geometry. Changed catenary stagger and height cause high voltage spark or instant electric contact loss. Big spark derived from contact loss can damage the pantograph carbon strip and overhead contact lines that might interrupt the train operations. Therefore, to prevent a big scale spark or electric contact loss, catenary maintenance are required catenary geometry measurement systems with catenary maintenance capability. In this paper, we describe the development of catenary height and stagger measurement system. The catenary height and stagger measurement system uses Acuity company's AR4000 Laser Range Finder for distance measurement and AccuRange Line Scanner for degree measurement. This system detects suspicious overhead line sections with excessive stagger and height stagger variance.

Development of Database Management System for Agriculture Facilities Using Geographic Information System (GIS를 이용한 농업시설물 데이터베이스관리시스템 개발)

  • The environments in current farming and fishing communities have been exacerbated by the shortage of personnel caused by aging, the deficiency of equipment, and the decrease in produce prices. To help solve these issues, this study examined the history, such as inspections, failures, and repairs, by constructing a database for underground water wells, pumping stations, and irrigation, which are critical for management among agriculture production infrastructures. In particular, in the case of underground water wells, their optimal locations were determined using spatial information, such as a geological map of water resources, a water vein map, and underwater depth, because indiscreet installations and an absence of spatial information resulted in economic losses and environmental pollution. Therefore, this study could efficiently manage many facilities scattered in rural areas by developing a system. An analysis of the status of 14 underground water wells using spatial information showed that the location information at six points was specified incorrectly. On the other hand, a site investigation showed that the water vein map analysis at one point was inaccurate.

  • Today, due to the increase in global population growth, the international community is discussing solving the food problem. The aquaculture industry is emerging as an alternative to solving the food problem. For the innovative growth of the aquaculture industry, smart fish farms that combine the fourth industrial technology are recently being distributed, and full-cycle digitalization is being promoted. Water quality sensors, which are important in the aquaculture industry, are electrochemical portable sensors that check water quality individually and intermittently, making it impossible to analyze and manage water quality in real time. Recently, optically-based monitoring sensors have been developed and applied, but the reliability of monitoring data cannot be guaranteed because the state information of the water quality sensor is unknown. Therefore, this paper proposes an algorithm representing self-diagnosis status such as Failure, Out of Specification, Maintenance Required, and Check Function based on monitoring data collected by water quality sensors to ensure data reliability.

Analysis of Building Characteristics and Temporal Changes of Fire Alarms (건물 특성과 시간적 변화가 소방시설관리시스템의 화재알람에 미치는 영향 분석 연구)

  • The purpose of this study to find the factors influencing the fire alarms using IoT firefighting facility management system data of Seoul Fire & Disaster Headquarters, and to present academic implications for establishing an effective prevention system of fire situation. As the number of high and complex buildings increases and former bulidings are advanced, the fire detection facilities that can quickly respond to emergency situations are also increasing. However, if the accuracy of the fire situation is incorrectly detected and the accuracy is lowered, the inconvenience of the residents increases and the reliability decreases. Therefore, it is necessary to improve accuracy of the system through efficient inspection and the internal environment investigation of buildings. The purpose of this study is to find out that false detection may occur due to building characteristics such as usage or time, and to aim of emphasizing the need for efficient system inspection and controlling the internal environment. As a result, it is found that the size(total area) of the building had the greatest effect on the fire alarms, and the fire alarms increased as private buildings, R-type receivers, and a large number of failure or shutoff days. In addition, factors that influencing fire alarms were different depending on the main usage of the building. In terms of time, it was found to follow people's daily patterns during weekdays(9 am to 6 pm), and each peaked around 10 am and 2 pm. This study was claimed that it is necessary to investigate the building environment that caused the fire alarms, along with the system internal inspection. Also, it propose additional recording of building environment data in real-time for follow-up research and system enhancement.

A Study on the Reliability Analysis and Risk Assessment of Liquefied Natural Gas Supply Utilities (천연가스 공급설비에 대한 기기신뢰도 분석 및 위험성 평가)

  • Natural gas has been supplied through underground pipelines and valve stations as a new city gas in Seoul. In contrast to its handiness the natural gas has very substantial hazards due to fires and explosions occurring from careless treatments or malfunctions of the transporting system. The main objectives of this study are to identify major hazards and to perform risk assessments after assessing reliabilities of the composing units in dealing with typical pipeline networks. there-fore two method, fault tree analysis ;1nd event tree analysis, are used here. Random valve stations are selected and considered its situation in location. The value of small leakage, large rupture, and no supply of liquefied natural gas is estimated as that of top event. By this calculation the values of small leakage are 3.29 in I)C valve station, 1.41 in DS valve station, those of large rup-lure are $1.90Times10_{-2}$ in DC valve station, $2.32$\times$10^{-2}$ in DS valve station, and those of no supply of LNG to civil gas company are $2.33$\times$10 ^{-2}$ , $2.89$\times$10^{-2}$ in each valve station. And through minimal cut set we can find the parts that is important and should be more important in overall system. In DC valve station one line must be added between basic event 26,27 because the potential hazard of these parts is the highest value. If it is added the failure rate of no supply of LNG is reduced to one fourth. In DS valve station the failure rate of basic event 4 is 92eye of no supply of LNG. Therefore if the portion of this part is reduced (one line added) the total failure rate can be decreased to one tenth. This analytical study on the risk assessment is very useful to prepare emergency actions or procedures in case of gas accidents around underground pipeline networks and to establish a resolute gas safety management system for loss prevention in Seoul metropolitan area.

Analysis of Abnormal Values Obtained from National Groundwater Monitoring Stations (국가지하수 관측소 측정자료의 이상값 분석)

  • National groundwater monitoring stations have been managed throughout the country by Korea Water Resources Corporation (KOWACO) in order to monitor variations in quantity and quality of groundwater resources. A multi-sensor installed in each monitoring station well measures groundwater level, water temperature and electrical conductivity every six hours and the logged data are automatically transmitted to a host computer in KOWACO. Meanwhile despite regular station inspection and replacement of deteriorate or broken devices, abnormal values or outliers often occur due to intrinsic limitations of automatic monitoring and transmission. Thus prompt recognition and measures to these values are essentially required to reduce disturbance and missing period of the data. In this study, time and frequency of outlier occurrence were analyzed for the water level data obtained from national groundwater monitoring stations within the Han river basin in 2000. The analysis results indicated that the most prominent patterns of the outliers were rapid decline for water level, no variation for temperature and steep decline for electrical conductivity. This study provided a sample criterion for determining the outlier for each parameter.
