A study on how to discriminate the polarities of stator windings for 3 phase induction motors by using general purpose multi-testers (멀티테스터를 이용한 3상유도전동기 고정자 권선의 극성 판별법에 관한 연구)

  • Faulty electric motors onboard vessels with anomalies in windings or poor insulation are usually repaired at land based workshops and reinstalled in place by crew hands after receiving the repaired motors. Especially for 3 phase induction motors which need Y-${\delta}$ starters with 6 lead wires, it would happen that the polarities of stator windings cannot be well distinguished if the original tags of these wires are erased or not visible clearly, resulting in subsequent damage to the repaired motor due to extreme current flow when the power is given to the motor the stator windings of which are wrongly connected in the polarity. This study proposes an easy way to make correct connection in winding polarities without failures based on the electro-magnetically induced voltages on windings when a slight DC current is supplied to a winding coil by using an analog multi-tester. The proposed method is applied to actual motors and delves into the applicability for polarity discrimination through a few measurements onboard vessels.

  • Existing level crossing obstruction detecting system occurs section of not detecting an obstruction by line detecting. Due to installation of decentralized equipment, it has become a problem in terms of safety and maintenance costs. accordingly, We have developed level crossing obstruction detecting system using laser radar sensor in order to solve these problems. In this paper, Describe results of functional test for the developed level crossing obstruction detecting system. functional tests are normal operation test(control unit and sensor unit) and test to display the fault information in event of a failure(control unit and sensor unit). It was confirmed that it works properly all according to functional test of level crossing obstruction detecting system using laser radar sensor.

  • Failure and malfunction of the unmanned surveillance facility cost can lead to delays occurring until the person in charge arrives at the unmanned surveillance facility, and theft, damage, and information leakage damage caused by intruders. In addition, due to equipment failure and malfunction, additional costs are incurred due to constant inspection by the manager. In this paper, in order to compensate for the malfunction of unmanned facility costs, we propose a system that diagnoses the monitoring facility in real time, displays the contents of the problem, automatically restores the facility power, and informs the person in charge of the situation by text message. The proposed system is a surveillance facility consisting of main facilities such as video equipment (CCTV), sound equipment, floodlights, etc. And SMS server that can send text messages in real time. Through experiments, the effectiveness of the proposed system was verified.

  • Power distribution systems onboard vessels are typically configured without any live line connected to hulls for earthing purpose, where the line to hull voltages are affected and deformed depending on the impedances consisting of insulation resistances and distributed capacitances between power lines and hull. An insulation fault at power lines causes the line to hull voltages to increase to a higher level which brings more possibilities to electric shock and deterioration of insulation material. This study focuses on how to configure a module which enables to continuously monitor the voltages between power line and hull based on the vector diagram by analyzing the neutral point of 3 phase voltages and the algorithm for plotting method on the PC monitors.

  • This is a case report of a photo-electric single station alarm for residential fire prevention. The detector was developed for the certification in Japanese market which is more than 100 times bigger than Korean market. A comparison and review for test standard owned by KFI (Korea Institute of Fire Industry & Technology) and JFEII (Japan Fire Equipment Inspection Institute) respectively is also conducted. The detector alarms with a buzzer and an indicating LED. Operating period and time in alarm, low battery and fire situation is stated. The electronics circuit part to reduce its current and the detector's characteristics are described. It is explained that the measured current and experimental result of the battery discharge can meet the 10 years operation.

  • 본 논문은 SLAM 기술로 3D 매핑하고 태양광 발전기 패널 표면의 오염영역을 파악하여 청소하는 자율비행 드론에 대한 연구이다. 본 프로젝트에서 구현된 드론은 SLAM 기술을 활용하여 3D 매핑과 ROS Topic 통신으로 자율비행을 하면서 카메라로 촬영한 영상에서 태양광 발전기 패널을 파악하고 패널에 있는 얇은 먼지막을 프로펠러에 의하여 발생하는 바람으로 제거한다. 그리고 열화상 카메라로 확인된 고오염 또는 고장으로 인한 발열 부분에 페인트 볼을 떨어트려 시각적으로 표시하고 관리자에게 능동적으로 알린다. 이로 인해 제안된 방법에 따라 넓은 영역에 분포된 다수의 태양광 발전기 패널의 오염정도를 쉽게 파악하고 저오염 영역의 즉각적인 청소 및 고오염 영역의 빠른 보고로 인하여 전반적인 태양광 발전 효율을 제고할 수 있으며, 수동으로 이루어지는 인력 관리에 비하여 오염지역 파악 및 제거 시간이 보다 빠르고 정확하게 이루어질 수 있다.

  • Recently, design of Universal Soft Controller(USC) has been applied to the advanced control room for nuclear power plant. USC is software-based manual control means to control safety components as well as non-safety components in the highly-integrated control room. Therefore, design feature of USC is essential for the implementation of a single workstation in the advanced control room. The traditional control room is replaced by computer-driven consolidated operator interfaces. Considering our design has further reduced the probability of USC spurious signals by requiring two distinct operator control actions to generate any control signal. The reality of USC does not increase the probability of reactor trip because the probability of spurious USC signal is negligible. Universal Soft Control represents a significant evolution in nuclear I&C/HSI System. USC integrates the indicators and controls from multiple divisions into a single integrated visual display unit(VDU) based HSI(Human System Interface). In order to prevent adverse influence on safety function performance from USC failure, ESFAS signals are applied to safety components or functions. In addition, safety manual switches have priority over USC's signals. Therefore, spurious USC signals can be momentarily blocked by selecting a soft control command from the safety VDU.

The Improvement of Electrical Point Machine Wiring Set (선로전환기(NS)의 배선세트 개선)

  • An Electrical Point Machine (NS:New-type Switch), which is equipped and operated at railways in Korea, has been used since the 1960s after being imported from Japan. On the other hand, although the mechanical configuration has improved the position motor control circuit, the electrical connection has not been improved, so NS may have a problem, such as the interlocking system of automatic train operation. In addition, NS is the most vulnerable part in the railway system and a huge train accident may occur due to minor defects. The existing NS wiring set of the circuit controller should be checked only if fixed. Therefore, an excessive inspection time only by a Railroad Signal expert is required. In this paper, the improvement of electrical connection in a NS wiring set, such as the position motor control circuit, was developed and the prototype was installed at Seoul Metro in the distance to go section. The results can be used to help make appropriate adjustments. The improvement of the NS wiring set enhance the maintenance efficiency, passenger service and the stability of the signal system as well as reducing the maintenance cost.

  • With the advent of Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems(ECDIS) and Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) as the principal navigation equipment of E-navigation strategy, mariners will begin to practice "e-navigation" and increasingly rely upon these systems to navigate safely and efficiently. However, these electronic systems require "e-inputs" in order to function. At present, the choices for e-input are limited, and they are installation dependent. This means that the mariner must be suitably equipped in order to use an alternative e-input. If the primary e-input is lost, and the vessel is not equipped to make use of suitable alternative e-inputs, then continued operations will have to be done the "old fashioned way" using conventional navigation The final objective is a recommendation of dual harbor positioning system on the most appropriate mix of positioning systems to satisfy the marine needs for radionavigation, positioning services.

  • The number of elevator installation increases every year about 15,000. The number of confine-disease of elevator increases every year and then sudden in, sudden stop, error of level indication, stand; those can bring to uneasiness of elevator passenger and malfunction related life accident is increasing. Therefore we researched elevator repair diary of elevator repairing company, APT management office and 119 life rescue for elevator confine-disease during 2004. 1. 1.${\sim}$12. 31. we analyzed the content and the time type and cause of the malfunction and fault for APT elevator. Form the result of 119 life rescue, only power reset is 24[%] and only power failure is 8.2[%] by cause of confine-disease. This paper will be used data of the analysis for mutual relation between Power Quality and malfunction and fault of elevator.
