An Analysis on The Structural Change of The Knowledge Service Industry (지식서비스산업의 구조변화 분석)

  • In recent years, the knowledge service industry is getting much attention in terms of the role as new growth driver and employment creation sector whereas the overall potential growth rate in Korea has been slowed due to reduced investment and employment in manufacturing sector. This study examines how the knowledge service industry contributes to economic development and employment creation by analyzing the structure transition pattern of the knowledge service industry from 1995 to 2010 and suggests, based on these results, some policy implications for the industry's development. It turns out that the knowledge service industry greatly contributes to total production increase and employment creation during the period of 1995 to 2010. Special strategy for increase in labor productivity will be required for the knowledge service industry to contribute consistently as growth driver and employment creation sector since production increase rate and growth contribution level have been gradually decreased while employment growth rate and its contribution level have been consistently increased in the knowledge service industry.

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate Korea's employment policy for people with disabilities by utilizing situational feasibility evaluation of Fisher's multi-dimensional policy evaluation methods (1995, 2003). A number of related studies conducted so far have been focused only on quantitative research methods. In other words, balanced and comprehensive evaluation studies were insufficient. Therefore, this study attempted a balanced policy evaluation through a qualitative or phenomenological approach that complements the limitations of the existing empirical methodology. In this study, the sub-topics for evaluation were divided into employment delivery system, employment program, and institutional employment environment for people with disabilities. Improvement measures and policy implications for each topic were presented. In order to improve employment services and jobs for people with disabiliyies, it was suggested that there is a need to strengthen linkages and cooperation between institutions, eliminate blind spots in employment services, improve quality, expand customized employment services, strengthen programs, improve policy and institutional environments, and strengthen individual psychological and emotional support.

A Analytical Study on the Change of Regional Employment Rate in the Service Industry (서비스산업에서의 지역별 고용률의 변화에 대한 분석 연구)

  • For recent years, there have been considerable changes in the employment rate of the service industry and its relative ratio. These changes vary depending on the region whether it is Seoul metropolitan region or not. According to main results of this article, the average of employment rate in the service industry has been highest in the Seoul metropolitan region. And the changes by period of the employment-rate in the service industry have increased continuously for all the time in the Seoul metropolitan region whereas they have varied in other regions. Also the relative ratio of employment rate in the service industry to total employment rate has been more higher in Seoul metropolitan region and Gangwon region than other regions, and also the changes by period of the relative ratio have more increased in these two regions than other regions. Finally, comparing metropolitan city regions with do regions for the average of employment rate in the service industry or the relative ratio of it, they have more higher in metropolitan city regions than do regions, whereas the changes by period of them have varied with each other regions.

An Emperical Factor Analysis of the Service Economy in India (인도경제의 서비스화 요인 실증분석)

  • India has been service-led economic growth during 50 years and turned to the so-called 'service economy' which means that the services sector takes over 50% in GDP since 2000 year. This study aims to find the factors in the existing hypotheses for service economy in India and tries the empirical analysis with the 1953~2003 annual time series data. As a result, the service economy in India has been accelerated by the hypotheses of demand bias, productivity bias and demand increasing of services as the intermediates simultaneously. This implies that the phenomenon of service economy will be continued and furthered in India.

The Moderating Effect of Recognition of Employment Welfare Services in the Relationship between Age Norms and Negative Perception on Older Workers (연령규범과 고령근로자에 대한 부정적 인식의 관계: 고용서비스 인지의 조절효과)

  • This study has been done to understand the relationship between age norms and negative perception on older workers, and to find out moderating effect of recognition of employment welfare services in those relationships. And the purpose of this study is to suggest alternative ways to improve pessimistic perception on older workers, which is basal ageism. For this purpose, the survey has been conducted with 630 participants, who were 20 years old and over and lived in 15 different provinces. The collected data has been analysed by using SPSS Win 18.0. The results as followed: first, there were significant differences of negative perception on older workers among provinces(metropolitan areas, small towns, and rural areas); second, age norms significantly influenced on pessimistic perception on older workers; third, moderating effect of recognition of employment welfare services has been verified. These results suggest that it is necessary to promote people to take a flexible attitude toward older adults using media broadcasting and promotion of employment welfare services. Public and private cooperation should be needed to change people's negative perception on older workers. Lastly, programs, which are appropriated and tailored in specific provinces, improving awareness of older workers should be required.

An Analysis on Employment Multiplier Effects of Conglomerate and Small-to-Medium Enterprises within An Information & Communication Activity-Commodity Model (정보통신 활동.상품모형을 통한 대기업과 중소기업의 고용창출효과 분석)

  • 이글은 한국은행 산업분류 세분류 404 부문 중 정보통신부문에 해당하는 (1) 유선통신기기, (2) 무선통신 및 방송기기, (3) 컴퓨터 및 주변기기, (4) 통신시설, (5) 초고속망서비스, (6) 부가통신, (7) 소프트웨어 개발 공급, (8) 컴퓨터관련 서비스 분야를 중심으로 대기업과 중소기업의 고용창출 효과를 활동 상품 틀이라는 분석도구를 이용해 파악해 보는데 있다. 분석결과, 정보통신 분야별 산업활동에 대응하는 대기업의 고용승수는 컴퓨터 관련 서비스업 (0.0196), 소프트웨어 개발공급업 (0.0186), 유선통신기기업 (0.0152), 통신시설업 (0.0146), 컴퓨터 및 주변기기업 (0.0132) 등의 순으로 높게 나타났다. 그리고 정보통신 분야별 산업활동에 대응하는 중소기업의 고용승수는 통신시설업 (0.0165), 컴퓨터 빛 주변기기업 (0.0151), 유선 통신기기업 (0.0143), 컴퓨터관련서비스업 (0.0126) 등의 순으로 높게 나타났다. 이와 같이 분석된 정보 통신 분야별로 대기업과 중소기업의 고용창출효과는 현실적으로 직면해 있는 IT 분야의 고용창출 문제를 해결하는데 중요한 정보로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 기존의 미디어 패러다임을 급격히 변화시키고 있는 IPTV 서비스를 대상으로 도입 3년 시점에서의 경제적 성과를 분석하는 한편, 향후 3년간 IPTV 서비스 도입에 따른 경제적 파급효과와 비교 분석하는 것이다. 비교대상이 되는 경제적 성과는 생산유발효과, 소득유발효과, 고용 유발효과를 포함한다. 우리는 이 분석을 통하여 IPTV 서비스가 과거 3년동안 어떤 산업에 어느 정도의 영향을 미쳤으며, 향후 어떤 산업에 큰 영향을 미칠지 전망할 수 있다.

Survival Analysis on Employment Rate and Employment Retention Rate of Unemployed Vocational Trainees (실업자 직업훈련생의 취업률과 고용유지율에 관한 생존분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the factors affecting the actual employment rate and job retention rate after completion of the training program the unemployed. Survival analysis was conducted by utilizing employment insurance status and subscription data over two years of 840 patients who finally completed a training course from 889 patients in response to survey about the training service quality in 2012. The finding of the study were as follows. First, the highest employment rate (36.8%) after the completion time was within three months, a period more than 50% of the trainees were employed within six months. While employment continued to occur even with the lapse of one year and two years after the completion point, the employment rate over time was found to decrease gradually. Second, the factors affecting employment rate after completing training, appeared teaching competency(-) among training service quality and potential employability(+), which low awareness of teaching capacity and high awareness potential employability increased the possibility of their employment. Third, the highest periods (each 22.0%, 22.3%) of employment loss rate were within three months and within three to six months, and more than 50% of the trainees have lost their unemployment insurance were less than 8.8 months. Fourth, the factors affecting job retention rates after employment, appeared relationship between teachers and students(+), a fellow student relationships(+) among training service quality and training satisfaction(+), which high awareness of teacher-student relationships, fellow student relationships and training satisfaction increased the possibility of their maintaining employment.

Trends Analysis of Economic Impacts in Korean Mobile Telecommunication Industry Using Input-Output Analysis (국내 이동통신 산업의 산업연관효과 변화 분석)

  • 국내 이동통신 산업의 중요성 및 빠른 변화에도 불구하고, 국내 이동통신 산업만을 대상으로 한 산업연관효과에 관한 체계적인 연구는 미흡한 상태이다. 본 연구는 여타 연구와 달리 기술 및 산업 속성에 따라 국내 이동통신 산업을 크게 기기, 장비, 서비스 3가지 부문으로 분류하여 산업연관분석을 실시하였다. 또한 최근 국내 이동통신 산업이 전 산업에 미치는 영향의 변화를 파악하기 위해, 한국은행에서 발표한 2003년, 2005년, 2007년, 2009년 산업연관표를 이용하여 산업연관효과의 연도별 변화를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 생산유발효과의 전후방연쇄효과는 기기, 서비스, 장비 3가지 부문 모두 공통적으로 상승하는 추세를 보였다. 그리고 부가가치유발효과는 장비를 제외한 기기와 서비스에서 감소하는 것으로 나타났고, 고용유발효과는 기기를 제외한 장비와 서비스에서 증가 추세를 보였다. 특히 이동통신기기 분야의 고용유발효과 감소 추세는 대내적으로 자본 집약화, 기술 집약화에 따른 고급인력의 수급 불균형 현상 등과 더불어 국내 단말업체들의 해외 생산기지 이전이 국내 고용에 악영향을 준 것으로 추정된다.

A Study on Accelerating Service Economy by the 4th Industrial Revolution (4차 산업혁명의 서비스경제화 촉진 연구)

  • The current research suggests a new industry and employment structure accelerated by the 4th industrial revolution. An in-depth analysis on relevant researches and a macro analysis on industry and employment structure change have been performed. Past and present industrial revolutions have been reviewed based on the nature of employment and industry structure. With technological advances and increase in productivity, the services industry has developed during the 1st and 2nd industrial revolutions. Moreover, in the 4th industrial revolution era, more changes are expected within the services industry. A new U-model has been derived and a service economy acceleration model has been suggested. This research can be used for deriving desirable industry and economic policy. Future research is needed to develop a detailed solution for human resource management strategy for service economy in the 4th industrial revolution era.
