  • An Attitude Control System for a high speed catamaran with contorl fins in waves is designed and investigated by the experimental methods. An optimal control theory is applied to design the automatic attitude control system of the high speed catamaran for its good seaworthiness. The experimental results performed in KRISO model basin for the displacements and accelerations for the model ship are measured in regular hear waves. Form the epxerimental results the effect of control planes is thought to be incroeasing with speed.

  • 판토그라프는 전차선(catenary)으로부터의 전류를 차량에 전달하는 장치로서 전동차 지붕 위에 설치되어 있다. 판토그라프의 설계 목표는 고속 및 다양한 환경 조건하에서 연속적이고 일정한 량의 전류를 차량에 전달하도록 하는 것이다. 열차가 고속화될수록 전류의 흐름이 중단되는 이선, 접촉선과 판토그라프 집전판의 마모, 공력 소음 등이 큰 문제로 대두되며, 이들 문제들이 고속용 판토그라프의 설계 기술에서 중요시되고 있다. 특히 이선은 동력 전달이 중단될 뿐만 아니라 이선시에 발생하는 아크로 인한 마모 증대, 통신 장해를 일으킨다. 유럽과 일렬에서는 그러한 문제를 인식하고 고속용 판토그라프에 대한 연구를 활발히 진행하고 있다. 또한 저속전철이나 고속전철을 운행하는 나라에서는 기존의 가선계를 그대로 이용하면서 고속화를 달성하기 위하여 기존 가선계에 대한 최적의 판토그라프 설계에 노력을 기울이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내 기존선 고속화에 필요한 최고속도 180km/h급 틸팅차량시스템의 핵심 구성요소인 판토그라프 제어기술에 대한 연구를 통하여 보다 안전한 틸팅차량용 판토그프사양 개발하는데 목적이 있다.

  • The importance of maintenance of rail surface defects is increasing more according to the KTX operation. That is because during high speed operation of rolling stock, rail surface defects may cause shortened fatigue life of rail, acceleration of track degradation and reduced ride comfort. The paper was intended to study the establishment of rail grinding criteria of high-speed railway lines considering the KTX operation circumstances. For this, the specimens of UIC 60 rail on Kyeong-Bu high-speed operation lines were collected and they were tested for metallographic structure and measured for the hardness. As the factors affecting RCF causing the defects of rail surface, passing tonnage, running speed and track condition are considered.

  • 본 논문은 국내에 고속 전력선 통신을 도입하기 위한 국내외 관련 기술기준을 분석하였다. 전력선 통신은 상용 전력을 공급하는 전력선을 이용하여 데이터 통신을 수행한다. 고속 데이터 전송을 실현하기 위해서는 현행 제도에서 전력선 통신으로 사용되고 있는 주파수 대역보다도 높은 주파수대역이 필요하다. 수10Mbps정도의 전송속도를 실현하기 위해 필요한 사용주파수 대역은 구체적으로 2MHz에서 30MHz 대역을 추가하는 것이 반드시 필요하다. 본 고에서는 제외국의 기술기준을 분석하고 국내에 도입되기 위해서 요구되는 기술기준을 실측하고 분석해서 기술기준을 작성하고 제안하였다.

Development of Optimal Train Operation System in Bottle-neck Section According to the Opening of High Speed Railway in Seoul Metropolitan Area (수도권 고속철도개통에 따른 고속선 병목구간 최적열차운행 체계 연구)

  • New Opening of Suseo-Pyeongteak High Speed Railway (HSR) will be a new leap in the Korean railway history. However if this section of HSR line around Seoul Metropolitan Area opens, the confluence of new HSR and existing HSR line in Pyeongteak-Osong section will cause a bottle neck problem. In other words, the opening of Suseo-Pyeongteak HSR line will make the capacity of track reach the limit and the section of railroad between Pyeongteak and Osong will be saturated. This will also make such troubles as restricting the number of train which stops at Cheonan-Asan station. In this study, based on the train assignment theory of TVM430 signal system, the methods of calculating headway and number of train are reviewed and the plan for application of optimal operation pattern during peak hour between Pyeongteak-Osong section is also suggested. To remove the bottle neck problem in this HSR section, 3 alternatives are suggested and the expected effects and problems of each alternative are also analyzed. The results show that the troubles caused by excess of track capacity can be removed without any additional cost if the minimum headway in operating system for HSR is adopted in this section. In the future, if these alternatives are considered to the long-term plan for operating train and signal systems, this will improve the efficiency of train operation, which can remove the bottle neck in the HSR line.

  • This paper introduces a study of improvement for a defect diagnosis of the UM71C track circuit using on HSL. The track circuit on HSL has long operation section. Therefore, when the worker maintain, many times and efforts are spent. So, periodically, we have operated a inspection car. However, we don't know exactly the state changed of the inspection data when track circuit has defect. Actually, We fixed a sample area within operation section on HSL and performed the simulations for short circuit current that is reflected characteristic impedance and propagation factor. We compared the measuring data with the result of the simulation. Using verified simulation program, we estimated inspection data as the malfunction number and the change of capacity of compensation capacitor. These study need to secure of the safety as the train operation. Also, It needs to make a criteria of analysis for the maintenance through comparison simulation data and inspection data.

  • A potential-based panel method has been developed for numerical computation of wave resistance on a hybrid hydrofoil. Hybrid hydrofoil is composed of a main body, two struts and two hydrofoils. The main body, which is assumed to be an axisymmetric body for the present analysis, is normally used to support displacement of a body with its buoyancy. Normal dipoles and the sources are distributed on the body(main body, struts, hydrofoils) and the sources are distributed on the free surface. Linearized free surface and the radiation conditions are satisfied using the fourth order finite difference operator and the semi-linear pressure Kutta condition is used for the numerical computation of the hydrofoils. Poisson type free surface condition has been used for the numerical computation and hyperboloidal panel method has been used for better numerical accuracy. To verify this numeric method, model tests are performed in circulation water channel. From the comparison of experimental results with numeric ones, the present method can be used as a useful tool for the design of high speed vessels.

  • This paper addresses the analysis and the design optimization of differential interconnects for high-speed Low-Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) applications. Thanks to the differential transmission and the low voltage swing, LVDS offers high data rates and improved noise immunity with significantly reduced power consumption in data communications, high-resolution display, and flat panel display. We present an improved model and new equations to reduce impedance mismatch and signal degradation in cascaded interconnects using optimization of interconnect design parameters such as trace width, trace height and trace space in differential printed circuit board (FPCB) transmission lines. We have carried out frequency-domain full-wave electromagnetic simulations, and time-domain transient simulations to evaluate the high-frequency characteristics of the differential FPCB interconnects. We believe that the proposed approach is very helpful to optimize high-speed differential FPCB interconnects for LVDS applications.
