고속 머시닝센터의 성능평가 기술에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Evaluation Technology in High Speed Machining Center)

  • The high speed machining center(HMC) has been widely applied to manufacture a die and machine elements product in industrial field. Because the evaluation for HMC is not sufficiently performed, ineffective machining is occasionally conducted in machining industry. In this study, the dynamic characteristics of newly developed machining center is evaluated under running condition and the machinability is investigated experimentally. Also, the in-process measuring instrument which can measure the tool wear on the machine were developed by using the CCD and exclusive jig and calibration instrument for tool wear measurement.

  • The feed system of the machine tools is limited by the mechanical transmission elements. However, thanks to the advanced modern technology, those machines are able to equip with linear motors. In this paper, the types and application aspects of linear motor are discussed and a synchronous type of the linear motors has been applied to X-Y table for machining center. The performance shows an outstanding result in terms of the accuracy, speed and stiffness. Machine tool system with linear motors is expected to be more productive machines using linear motor in the near next years.

  • To reduce the shock in shifting the clutches and the brakes in automatic transmission have to be connected smoothly and disconnected rapidly. It is PCSV(Pressure Control Solenoid Valve) that play this role of automatic transmission. In this paper there were two steps in the analysis of the PCSV. The first step was modeling the elctromagnet by the permeance method. The second step was modeling the hydraulic circuit by the pressure differential equation. In addition to this modeling a experiment was performed and the commercial package program was used in order to justify modeling. The result of modeling coincide with the result of experiment and commercial package program. As a result this modeling is usable in analysis of dynamic characteractic of the PCSV.

  • Endmill is one of the most important cutting tool, not only for machining of mold and die, but also for manufacturing of car industrial. Futhermore with spindle speeds on the increase and machined-surface quality aspiring to higher levels. The purpose of this study is an analysis of endmill's rake angle for appropriate tools design and making for the high speed machining. In this study, Experimental works are also executed to measure shape of endmills, cutting force, on different shape of endmills. Finally, To get concept of endmill design, Tool life was experimented on various design of tool from this study.

  • Control system for cutting piston used in vehicle that is one of the 3D shape cutting using CNC lathe is presented. In order to cut the hybrid piston shape using CNC lathe, defined piston shape and change into machine code. The control software was developed for the high speed piston shape cutting. In this paper, the performance of this software was evaluated practically. As a result, the evaluated cutting precision was quantitatively compared with theoretical precision. Also the productivity and the quality by using CNC lathe with control software were evaluated those by using profiling.

  • In a high speed spindle system, it is very important to monitor the operation of the spindle to prevent catastrophic damage to the system. Widely used sensors for monitoring are eddy-current and capacitive types. These sensors provide high accuracy of monitoring, but their steep prices lead to expensive high speed spindle system. The main god of our research is to develop technology to produce high speed spindle system utilizing magnetic bearings. As active magnetic bearings require position sensors for feedback control, a noncontact position sensor is bang developed as a part of this main goal. Once developed, it will contribute to affordable high speed spindle system. In this paper, we report the selection process of the sensor types and the experimental results with driving circuits.

  • This study aims at developing the high speed/intelligent machining system using the plug/play method of an open architecture controller. The plug/play technology by the application Specific Function (ASF), can readily implement the open architecture controller into various machining system or other automatic devices. The plug/play method integrates the ASF, visual builder, controller OS technology. This study, as an example, presents a schematic diagram for integration of an open architecture CNC and individual component technology for the high speed/intelligent machining system.

  • Spindle units of machine tool are very important part in the manufacturing area. Recently high speed machining has become the main issue of metal cutting. To develop high speed machine tools, a lot of studies have been carried out for high speed spindle. Due to increase of the rotational speed of the spindle, there has been renewal of interest in tooling system of high speed spindle. This paper concerns the static stiffness in the main spindle interface according to variation of clamping force, rotational speed and tool holder shank. Finite element analysis is performed by using a commercial code ANSYS workbench. From the results, it has been shown that the geometry of tool holder shank is mostly influence on the variation of the static stiffness in the main spindle interface.

고속.대추력 동기식 리니어모터 세컨더리 파트의 열특성 향상 (Improvement of the Thermal Behavior of the Secondary Part of Synchronous Linear Motors with High Speed and Thrust)

  • Linear permanent magnet synchronous motors utilize high-energy product permanent magnet to produce high thrust, velocity and acceleration. Such motors are finding applications requiring high positioning accuracy and speed response, for example, machine tools, in the absence of mechanical gears and ball screw systems. A disadvantage of the linear motors is high power loss in comparison with rotary motors. For the application of the linear motors to machine tools, it is required to use water coolers and to improve the thermal behavior through insulation and structure optimization or control strategies. This paper presents the function of the secondary part of the linear synchronous motor as to the thermal behavior and the improving method. The result shows cooling pipe combined with an insulation layer is a suitable design for improving of the thermal behavior.

  • The use of small hemispherical high-speed precision bearing has increased drastically these days in the field of computer disk driver, highteech devices as well as communication and electronic device drivers. It was suggested that the new polishing process adopting the diamond grinding wheel and polishing tool instead of multi stage lapping processes, which enables the mass production of the bearing by reduction of polishing time. Polishing mechanism was analysed and the results were applied to the design and manufacturing of the polishing system. Experiments for selection of optimal polishing conditions were carried out using the polishing system.
