Laser micromachining of high-aspect-ratio metallic channels for the application to microthermal devices (마이크로 열소자 제작을 위한 고세장비 금속채널의 레이저 가공)

  • A fabrication method fur high-aspect-ratio microchannels in stainless steel using laser-assisted thermochemical wet etching is reported in this paper. The fabrication of deep microchannels with an aspect ratio over ten is realized by applying a multiple etching process with an optimization of process conditions. The cross-sectional profile of the microchannels can be adjusted between rectangular and triangular shapes by properly controlling laser power and etchant concentration. Excellent dimensional uniformity is achieved among the channels with little heat-affected area. Microchannels with a width ranging from 15 to $50{\mu}m$ can be fabricated with an aspect ratio of ten and a pitch of 150 m or smaller. The effects of process variables such as laser power, scan speed, and etchant concentration on the fabrication results, including etch width, depth, and cross-sectional profile are closely examined.

  • Icing is one of the most serious hazards for aircraft. The amount and rate of icing depend on a number of meteorogical and aerodynamic factors. Of primary importance are amount of liquid water content of droplets, their size, the temperature of aircraft surfaces, the collection efficiency, and the extent of supercooled droplets. In this study, in-flight icing analysis of low reynolds number high aspect ratio wing is carried out by using FENSAP-ICE. Each liquid water contents with altitude is obtained from FAR 25 Appendix-C. And the collectoin efficiency is calculated to check out the ice accretion position of wing with two angles of attack. The degradation of aerodynamic characteristics of aircraft are figured out by investigating the accretion of rime and glaze ice.

  • High-aspect-ratio(max. 12.5) microchannels with excellent surface quality and good shape uniformity have been realized utilizing laser-induced etching technique. Etch width and depth variations depend largely upon process variables such as laser power and etchant concentration. Etchant concentration in association with viscosity also influence on the cross-sectional profile of the channels. The optimum process conditions for the fabrication of high-aspect-ratio microchannels applicable to micro thermal devices are demonstrated.

  • High aspect ratio of nano hairs on a plastic substrate is molded using thermoplstic materials including COC, PP, PC and PMMA. As a template for molding nano hairs, AAO membrane is adopted, which is 60um thick and 13mm in diameter. This membrane has about 109 of through-holes of which diameter is around 200nm. This AAO membrane and the pellet of materials are stacked in the mold and pressed to mold after heating up to be melted. The AAO membrane is removed using KOH to obtain the molded nano hairs. As a result, the diameter of the molded hairs is around 200nm and the length is $2um{\sim}60um$ depending on the molding conditions and materials.

  • 기계적 장치의 도움 없이 오직 사람의 힘으로만 비행을 해야 하는 인간 동력 항공기는 높은 동력 효율 및 최소한의 무게를 지니며 고세장비(High Aspect Ratio)날개 특성을 가지고 있다. 따라서 공력 및 구조적 최적화가 필요하며 고세장비 날개 특성에 따른 대변위 해석이 필요하다. 비행가능한 특정 순항속도에서 3차원 날개에 작용하는 양력에 대해, Edison Solver(Educational program for finite element analysis (CASADSolver))를 이용하여 2차원 spar에 분포하중으로 적용하였을 때의 응력 분포 및 끝단 변위 분석하고자 한다. 또한, 2차원 spar에 일정한 간격으로 집중하중을 작용하였을 때 생기는 변위와 3차원 spar를 이용한 하중해석 결과의 변위를 비교하고자 한다. 위의 두 분석 결과로 비교적 계산자원이 많은 3차원 해석이 아닌 2차원 해석으로 인간 동력 항공기 날개 설계 초기단계에 적용가능한 지에 대해 비교한다.

  • 카본나노튜브(Carbon Nanotube)는 다른 물질과 구별되는 날카로움(Sharpness), 고세장비(High Aspect Ratio), 높은 기계적 강성(Stiffness), 고탄성(high Elasticity), 그리고 반도체(semi-conducting)와 도체(Metallic) 성질 때문에, 카본나노튜브는 많은 연구에 적용되고 있으며, 카본나노튜브가 부착된 AFM(Atomic Force Microscope) 팁을 이용한 AFM 측정은 CNT 응용에 있어서 매우 큰 효과를 내는 응용분야 중 하나이다. AEM 팁에 카본나노튜브를 붙이는 이전 연구는 대부분 화학증착법(Chemical Vapor Deposition)에 의해 이루어 졌으며, 매우 효과적인 방법이지만 고가의 장비와 고온의 챔버내에서 이루어진다는 문제점을 가지고 있다.(중략)
