CALORIMETRIC INVESTIGATION OF SULFUR VULCANIZATION OF NATURAL RUBBER

  • The effects of several vulcanizing accelerators on the determination of kinetic parameters of natural rubber vulcanizate was studied by DSC. Kinetic parameters were determined by means of the calculation procedures of Borchardt-Daniels and Oscillating Disk Rheometer (ODR) cure curve analysis, using both DSC exothermal thermogram and ODR cure curve. In order to examine the credibility in the DSC method the same compound which was und for DSC method was used for the comparison with the results of ODR data. Upon this method, kinetic rate constant (k), and Arrehenius parameter (Ea, ko, n) have been determined for rubber compounds via a new method using DSC thermogram and ODR cure curve. In the comparison of DSC and ODR results, kinetic parameters has shown good agreements between two results. Consequently, from the present studies, it is shown that the DSC thermoanalytical method can provide an alternate new method of kinetic study of rubber vulcanization.

고분자(高分子) 재료(材料)의 오존열화(劣化) 및 방지(防止) 메커니즘

  • 오존은 PE나 고무 등 고분자재료(高分子材料)의 표면(表面)에 존재하는 이중결합(二重結合)에 대(對)하여 친전자적부가반응(親電子的付加反應)으로 ozonide가 생성되고 이어서 제(第)3급(級) 수소(水素)를 공격하므로서 주쇄(主鎖)가 절단된다. 따라서 aldehyde, ketone 등의 carbonyl 화합물(化合物)이 생성된다. 이들이 재료표면(材料表面)의 굴곡변형(變形)의 증가에 따라 열(熱) 또는 공(光)에 의하여 다시 분해(分解)를 촉진시킨다. 2개(個)의 N분자(原子)에 방향족(芳香族) 및 지방족기(脂肪族基)를 각각 치환시킨 p - phenylene diamine 유도체(誘導體) 등과 같은 전자공흥성(電子供與性)이 큰 화합물(化合物)은 친전자적(親電子的)인 오존과 우선적으로 3급(級) 수소에 비하면 약 100 배(倍)로 반응성이 크다는것을 표(表)3으로 알수 있다. 미단이중결합(未端二重結合)에 대한 오존과의 반응은 다음 반응식과 같이 이중결합(二重結合)에 오존의 부가반응(付加反?)으로 개시(開始)되어 peroxi methylene이 유리되면서 미단(未端)은 aldehyde로 변화한다. 또 1개의 반응은 제(第)3급(級) 탄소-수소 결합에 오존이 삽입되고 계속 일어나는 분해반응으로서 hydroperoxide의 생성 및 탈염화수소(脫鹽化水素)반응이 일어난다. 이와같은 반응(反?)으로 생성(生成)된 내부(內部) 이중결합(二重結合)에 대한 오존의 반응은 olefin의 경우와 마찬가지로 molozonide나 ozonide의 과정을 거쳐 주쇄(主鎖)가 개열(開裂)되는 것이다.

  • When ironwork, especially steel roll coil, is transported to customers, land transportation and sea transportation are usually used. To transport steel roll coil fast and safe without damaging it, it is necessary that the steel roll coil has to be in stable condition. These days, apitong, which is all imported from overseas, is being used to support the steel roll coil, but because of apitong's rigidity, it damages the coil and when the coil is damaged, it is hard to fix. Due to the fact that recovering damage of the coil is almost impossible, we have to find the new type of dunnage that can substitute the apitong. In this paper, the arrays and the kinds of reinforcements, and rectangular type and trapezoid of dunnage will be talked about. The phenomenon of rolling and the impact when the carrier start moving and stop will be talked about as well. Therefore, we are going to develop a dunnage that does not damage ironwork and has better recovery and softness than existing apitong dunnage.

  • This paper describes a series of shaking table and pseudodynamic tests for evaluation of seismic performance of base-isolated structures subjected to various seismic earthquake inputs. The main objectives of this study are : (1) evaluation of the effectiveness of base-isolation systems for low-rise structures against severe seismic loads through shaking table tests, (2) verification of the substructuring pseudodynamic test method for the base-isolated structures in comparison with the shaking table test results. In the shaking table test, a quarter scaled three-story structure base-isolated by laminated rubber bearings is tested. In the pseudodynamic test, only the laminated rubber bearing s are tested using the substructuring technique, while the concurrent seismic responses of the superstructure are computed using on-line numerical integration. Comparison with the shaking table test results indicates that the substructuring pseudodynamic test method is very effective for determining the dynamic responses of the base-isolated structure.

  • This study was aimed to investigate the practice on the infection control and dental waste disposal in dental clinic. The data used in this study had been collected in 100 dental clinics located in Seoul city from August to October, 2001. It was shown that examination instruments, oral surgery instruments, and periodontal instruments were almost sterilization in dental clinic. It was high in the recognition of individual protection but it was low in the degree of practice. Therefore, the practice in infection control is very important to dental team for safety of patients and operators.

  • Shaking table tests are performed to investigate the seismic behavior of the batter pile and to bring up the countermeasures to improve the seismic performance of the batter pile. First of all, this study demonstrates how batter piles and vertical piles behave under static lateral loadings. Secondly, the vulnerability of batter plies under dynamic lateral loadings is demonstrated showing the axial forces and bending moments mobilized at the pile heads during shaking table tests. Thirdly, countermeasures to overcome the vulnerability of behavior piles during earthquakes are pursued. The countermeasures investigated in this study include introduction of a rubber element at the pile head and the deck plate connection, and introduction of hinge connection. Finally, the slope of batter piles which induces the minimum pile forces during the dynamic loadings are investigated and found to be 8:3 (Vertical to Horizontal).

2-D Dynamic analysis method of base-isolated pool structure (면진수조의 2차원 동적 해석기법 개발)

  • This study develops 2-D analysis method of a base-isolated pool structure, and verifies the method through shaking table test using a scaled model. A wall of the pool structure is modeled as lumped mass, and added mass of the fluid is imposed on the nodes of the structure to consider the hydrodynamic effect of contained fluid. The equation of motion of base-isolated pool structure is obtained by coupling of two equations for superstructure composed of wall and fluid, and for bottom slab and isolator. The scaled model for shaking table test is made with transparent acryle, and 4-high damping laminated rubber bearings are used. The responses of the scaled model by the test are generally good agreement with those by the analysis. It is shown that 2-D analysis method gives somewhat conservative results.

  • 햅틱인터페이스 기술을 이용하면 가상물체의 형태를 만져보고 느껴볼 수 있다. 물체마다 다른 수학적 마찰력 모델을 적용하여 실감있는 마찰력 표현도 가능하다. 그러나 각 물체에 해당하는 마찰력 모델을 선정하는 것과 적절한 마찰계수 등을 반복적 실험을 통하여 알아내는 것은 쉽지 않다. 실제 물체의 마찰력이 알려진 마찰력 모델과 다르다면 수학적 모델로 표현할 수 없는 경우도 있다. 본 논문에서는 신경회로망 학습을 이용하여 마찰력 모델의 선택이나 마찰계수 등을 정하는 과정 없이 실제 물체의 마찰력을 표현하는 방법을 제시하고 있다. 상용 햅틱인터페이스 장치인 PHANToM 2 대를 이용하여 마찰력 획득 시스템을 구성하고 고무판, 종이 등의 물체 표면에서의 속도와 물체에 작용하는 힘을 획득하여 가공한 데이터를 입력 및 출력으로 갖는 신경회로망을 통해 학습시킨 후 OpenGL로 구현한 가상물체에 적용하여 보았다. Force/Torque 센서를 사용하지 못한 일부 문제가 있었으나 예상보다 사실적인 마찰력을 표현할 수 있었다.

  • 포장도로에서 발생되는 미세먼지는 주로 자동차의 운행에 의한 직접 배출되는 입자와 도로 표면에서 비산되는 토양입자 그리고 타이어나 브레이크 패드의 마모에 의한 고무 및 석면 둥 다양한 배출원에 의해 발생되는데, 도로 주변의 배출원에 의해 많은 영향을 받을 것으로 판단된다. (최금찬등, 1996) 특히 인천에는 많은 비산먼지 배출원이 산재하여 있어, 이 들 배출원들의 영향이 여타 대도시보다 클 것으로 판단된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 인구와 교통량이 많고 공업활동이 활발한 인천지역의 주요 포장도로(H-ADT: High Average Daily Traffic, 5,000대/일 이상인 도로)에서 채취한 silt를 주거지역, 공업지역, 상업지역, 기타지역별로 채취하여 화학적 성분분석을 통해 지역별 특성을 조사하여, 각 지역 별 포장도로에서의 silt의 기원이 무엇인지를 추정하는 기초자료를 구축하고자하였다.   • This paper reports the results of performance verification tests of the base isolated RC building with the laminated rubber bearings which is manufactured by Dongil Rubber Belt Co.. The shaking table tests were performed using a scaled 3-story model scaled to 1/3 of the prototype RC apartment building. Several major earthquake records were scaled to different peak ground accelerations and used as input base excitations. Through the verification tests, the validity of the applied base isolation device and the response reduction effect against earthquakes are confirmed.
