Could a Product with Diverged Reviews Ratings Be Better?: The Change of Consumer Attitude Depending on the Converged vs. Diverged Review Ratings and Consumer's Regulatory Focus (평점이 수렴되지 않는 리뷰의 제품들이 더 좋을 수도 있을까?: 제품 리뷰평점의 분산과 소비자의 조절초점 성향에 따른 소비자 태도 변화)

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the size of the e-commerce has been increased rapidly. This pandemic, which made contact-less communication culture in everyday life made the e-commerce market to be opened even to the consumers who would hesitate to purchase and pay by electronic device without any personal contacts and seeing or touching the real products. Consumers who have experienced the easy access and convenience of the online purchase would continue to take those advantages even after the pandemic. During this time of transformation, however, the size of information source for the consumers has become even shrunk into a flat screen and limited to visual only. To provide differentiated and competitive information on products, companies are adopting AR/VR and steaming technologies but the reviews from the honest users need to be recognized as important in that it is regarded as strong as the well refined product information provided by marketing professionals of the company and companies may obtain useful insight for product development, marketing and sales strategies. Then from the consumer's point of view, if the ratings of reviews are widely diverged how consumers would process the review information before purchase? Are non-converged ratings always unreliable and worthless? In this study, we analyzed how consumer's regulatory focus moderate the attitude to process the diverged information. This experiment was designed as a 2x2 factorial study to see how the variance of product review ratings (high vs. low) for cosmetics affects product attitudes by the consumers' regulatory focus (prevention focus vs. improvement focus). As a result of the study, it was found that prevention-focused consumers showed high product attitude when the review variance was low, whereas promotion-focused consumers showed high product attitude when the review variance was high. With such a study, this thesis can explain that even if a product with exactly the same average rating, the converged or diverged review can be interpreted differently by customer's regulatory focus. This paper has a theoretical contribution to elucidate the mechanism of consumer's information process when the information is not converged. In practice, as reviews and sales records of each product are accumulated, as an one of applied knowledge management types with big data, companies may develop and provide even reinforced customer experience by providing personalized and optimized products and review information.

  • In this study, file size for measurement and the service system's billing data were submitted to a comparative analysis by performing a verification test on the billing system of three major mobile communication services providers, based on the wireless Internet service packet. As shown in the result of the verification test, there were some differences in the billing data due to transmission overhead, according to the network quality that is affected by the wireless environment of mobile operators. Consequently, the packet analysis system was proposed as a means of applying consistent packet billing to all service providers being compared. If the packet analysis system is added to supplement the current billing system various user requirements can be met. Billing by Packet among mobile operators and differentiated billing based on the content value are available, since the packet data can be extracted through protocol analysis by service, and it can be classified by content tape through traffic data analysis. Furthermore, customer's needs can be satisfied who request more information on the detailed usage, and more flexible and diverse billing policies can be supported like application of charging conditions to the non-charging packet handling. All these services are expected to contribute to the popularization of the wireless Internet service, since user complaints about the service charge could be reduced.

  • As automobile drivers' desires become ever diversified with the spreading phenomenon of 'characteristic automobile decorations', it is feared that the design quality may be deteriorated, while the safety be retarded in terms of performance and function. In Korea, the 'Dress-up tuning' becomes the source of the social criticism because of lack of relevant codes and professional tuning services, while automobile drivers are excessively having their automobiles overdressed ignoring the overall aesthetic aspect and functions. Under such a circumstance, this study was aimed at reviewing the practices and dress-up accessories by each automobile part of those foreign automobile makers and professional tuners who have introduced the concept of 'customizing' and developed dress-up accessories and various tuning parts only to satisfy their customers' tuning needs. It is anticipated that automobile styling would tend more to pursue a 'coordination' featuring ordinary consumers' individualistic senses, while customers' needs reflecting their life styles be more refined. Meanwhile, Korean automobile consumers have accommodated the product designs : presented within the producers' frameworks, but they are expected to pursue the design values varying according to changing structures of production, society and industry as well as the resultant design activities. In all, makers and designers are requested to be aware of such changing environment structures and thereby, explore other alternatives, or reflect seriously on the socio-cultural implications inherent in the products, namely on the production and consumption of people's favorites.

  • In response to the changing demands of ever competitive market, SK Telecom has built a new marketing system that can support dynamic marketing campaigns and, at the same time, scale up to the large volumes of data and transactions for the next decade. The system which employs Unix-based client-server (using Web browser interfaces) architecture will replace the current mainframe-based COIS system. The project, named NGM (Next Generation Marketing ), is unprecedentedly large in scale. However, both managerial and technical problems led the project into a crisis. The application framework that depended on a software solution from a major global vendor could not support the dynamic functionalities required for the new system. In March 2005, SK telecom declared the suspension of the NGM project. The second phase of the project started in May 2005 following a comprehensive replanning. It was decided that no single existing solution could cope with the complexity of the new system and hence the new system would be custom-built. As such. a number of technical challenges emerged. In this paper, we report on the three key dimensions of technical challenges - middleware and application framework, database architecture and tuning, and system performance. The processes and approaches, adopted in building NGM system, may be viewed as "best practices" in the telecom industry. The completed NGM system, now called "U.key System," successfully came into operation on the ninth of October, 2006. This new infrastructure is expected to give birth to a series of innovative, fruitful, and customer-oriented applications in the near future.

  • Innovator and Early Adopter are main clients of smart phone until now, but the silver generation enjoying price stability and the Internet emerges, so a strategy of the importance, systematic classification, and focus of a neglected class is needed. It is necessary to analyze UI that can departmentalize not a neglected class limited to the silver generation but potential users who can be voluntarily users and can secure them. To secure them, the researcher analyzes how Windows, Icons, Mouse Pull-Down-Menus(WIMP) of UI has been applied in the process that skeuomorphism UI of iPhone, Metro UI of MS, and Material UI of Google change. As a result of an analysis, skeuomorphism is not entirely new and has secured potential users slowly with a method to compensate and improve a part that users disregard. As a concept of touch UI, Metro UI considered potential users from the beginning but did not secure them with new and epoch-making UI. However, Material UI of Google compensates the weaknesses of skeuomorphism UI and Metro UI and emphasizes cost-effectiveness, so has developed into UI that can secure final consumers of potential users. Therefore, to secure potential users, it should make users themselves understand why they should use smart phone, and it should approach with more organized studies on UI through feedback of observation and direct talks.

Proposals to improve government funding of domestic start-up businesses through Living Lab: Focus on Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (사용자 주도의 개방형 혁신을 통한 국내 스타트업 대상의 정부 자금지원 개선 방안 제언: 신용보증기금을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose strategies for enhancing competitiveness through the utilization of policy funds, especially in the start-up companies supported by the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund. And then, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund should develop 'user-centered policy funding model' in order to increase start-up's utilization of policy fund and support start-ups that are supported in the long run. The competitiveness of domestic start-up companies has been strengthened by 'user-centered policy funding model' and new innovations have been introduced through 'Living Lab', an open innovation. But, in order to overcome the limitation of reaching the stage of commercialization, the 'user-centered policy funding model' proposed in this study enables start-ups to be the subject of actual policy funding, and also allows users to freely apply for necessary funding at any time. Therefore, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund has a significance in suggesting 'user-centered policy funding model' as a support model to be customized. However, since SMEs recognize the actual situation and limit acceptance of all the difficulties, the systematic analysis of the actual situation of the policy funds of the start-up by the credit guarantee fund and the related support institutions for the scientific approach of the user-oriented policy funding model need.

  • The renewal cycle, which newly decorates stores, has been shortened, as the marketing competition between telecommunication companies has been extended to the stores, due to the rapid increase of mobile phone users and fast replacement cycle of products. The store renewal made by major telecommunication companies, including signboard, has been pushed in order for telecommunication companies to give strong impression about their own brand identity to consumers. Consumers want stores not only to sell cheap and high quality products but also to provide customer experience, by which customers can feel store, product and service and accept them. Especially, since the competition between telecommunication companies is getting tough, it is the current trend that the number of stores is increasing much, and telecommunication companies are recently renewing their stores, with the concept of SI(Store Identity), which changes store image into the incorporated image including interior and exterior, rather than just replacing CI(Corporate Identity), when they renew stores. It can be said that SI(Store Identity) is an important factor, by which companies consistently design visual factors such as interior and sign, and then apply them to the interior and exterior of the stores, and thereby give good store image to consumers, and ultimately have great effect on the increase of sales volume. This kind of activity can be image-controlled by companies' Identity Management, and it can be a very important factor in terms of marketing. In this study, it has an objective to compare and analyze SI of domestic telecommunication companies and foreign telecommunication companies, and then suggest effective SI direction.

xDSL 표준화동향

  • 지금까지 access network에서의 xDSL의 위치를 살펴보고 DSL, HDSL, ADSL 및 VDSL을 중심으로 기술 및 최근의 표준화동향을 살펴보았다. ITU의 조사에 따르면 97년 기준으로 전세계 약 8억가구에 copper access line이 연결되어 있고 그중의 70%이상이 가정에 연결되어 있는데 증가추세도 북미의 경우 년3.5%, 서유럽과 태평양연안의 경우 년4.5%의 성장율을 보이고 있어 2000년경에는 10억가구에 다다를 전망이다. 미국은 97년기준 약 1억가구에 1억6000만 copper access line이 연결되어 있는데 Yankee Group이 조사한 바에 따르면 2000년을 기준으로 3백만가구에 ADSL/RADSL/SDSL이 연결되고 관련 revenue는 10억달러에 이를것으로 추산하고 있다. 전세계 xDSL 시장규모를 미국의 5배정도로 보면 2000년경에는 전세계 twist pair의 2%정도에 xDSL이 연결되어 ADSL/RADSL/SDSL 관련 세계시장규모가 50억달러에 이르고 시장성장률은 30%에 이를 것으로 보고 있다. 현재 이러한 xDSL의 표준화작업은 3장에서 언급한 바와 같이 ANSI T1, ETSI에서 주로 주도되고 있으나 ITU-T, IEEE, ADSL Forum, ATM Forum, DAVIC 등 다른 group과 활발한 liasion meeting 을 통해서도 협력안을 마련하려 노력하고 있다. 예를 들어 DAVIC은 long range(1.5Km이상) PMD규격으로 ADSL을, mid range($300m\sim1.5km$) PMD규격으로 VDSL을, short range(300m이하) PMD규격으로 CAP방식의 FTTC를 각각구정하여 xDSL을 수용하고 있다. Microsoft의 CEO인 Bill Gates가 'Bandwidth bottleneck. No question. that's the biggest obstacle.'이라고 천명한 바와 같이 정보사회로의 진전에 있어 bandwidth는 시급히 해결되어야 할 문제이다. 정보사회의 꿈을 실현하고자 1993년부터 시작된 In-formation Infrastructure의 구축노력이 그동안 다양하게 시도되어왔으나 숱한 우여곡절과 실패를 겪은 telco등의 서비스업자들이 이제는 너무 큰 꿈을 쫓기보다는 internet이라는 현실적인 시장에서 xDSL과 cablemodem을 바탕으로 차근차근 새로 시작하고 있다고 생각된다. 그동안 ADSL, Forum을 중심으로한 일부 technology evangelist들은 전세계 8억가구에 깔려있는 copper twist pair를 경제적인 'the last mile solution'으로 활용할 것을 줄기차게 주장해왔다. 그동안 xDSL은 VDSL이라는 차세대 대안을 제시하여 interim solution이라는 울타리를 벗어나는데 성공하였을 뿐만 아니라 IDSL, SDSL, RADSL등의 새로운 고객지향적 xDSL을 개발하여 선택의 폭을 넓혀주었다. xDSL vendor들간의 치열한 경쟁속에서 값싼 xDSL 시스템들이 속속 등장하고 있으며, DSLAM[8]과 같은 switch solution도 제시되어 기존의 copper twist pair를 이용해 값싸게 다양한서비스를 제공해 줄 수 있는 기틀을 마련한 것이 오늘날의 xDSL의 성공요인이라고 생각된다. 일찌기 Bell Atlantic의 CEO Ray Smith가 'Yes. ADSL is an interim solution that will be with us for forty years.'라고 간파한대로 xDSL은 fiber가 좀 더 값싼 해결책이 될 때까지 당분간 access network에서 확고한 자리를 구축할 것으로 보인다. 최근들어 우리나라의 초고속정보통신망도 ADSL 과 VDSL을 바탕으로 FTTH으로 진화하는 전략을 수립한것은 우리의 현실과 세계적인 추세를 반영한 일이라 여겨진다.

  • This paper proposes a prepaid system promotion policy for the 3G(WCDMA) MVNO with regard to the newly included paragraphs 3, 4 and 5 of Article 32 (User Protection) and Article 38 (Provision of Wholesale Telecommunications Services) of the Telecommunication Business Act, which was revised on March 22, 2010. As of June 2011, there are only a few prepaid system subscribers to the mobile communications service due to various limitations, including prepay, interconnection, carrier selection, the MVNO policy, and number portability. However, overseas communications service regulatory agencies and service providers are increasingly presenting policies and strategies for mobile prepaid plans, in order to accommodate the various customer demands that are increasing the use of smart phones and data. This paper advances various proposals concerning promotion of the prepaid system by the 3G MVNO under the current Telecommunication Business Act, including separation of the prepaid data system and the mobile network; introduction of a monthly fixed-rate hybrid prepaid system, a top-up system and USIM system; introduction of mobile network carrier selection; differentiated retail discounts between prepaid and post-paid prices; revision of the retail discount policy for wholesale provision; increase in the number of mandatory service providers; and in-depth consideration of the introduction of a number portability policy for the prepaid and post-paid systems.

  • 생활이 풍족해질수록 사람들은 음식이나 음료를 통하여 미각을 즐기는 경향이 강해지고 있다. 미각이 발달한 사람들은 다른 감각이 발달한 사람들보다 소비 욕구가 왕성하여 상품정보에 밝은 편이고 신제품에 대한 호기심도 많아 주요고객으로 환영받을 수 있는 가능성이 매우 높다. 이러한 점을 고려할 때 미각은 소비성향의 척도가 될 수 있으며, 이것이 상품개발에 중요한 지표가 될 가능성이 있다. 그러나 맛에 민감하다거나 둔감하다고 표현되는 개인의 미각물질에 대한 감도는 개인마다 일정치 않다. 이것은 미각물질에 따라 개인의 상대적인 역치의 고조나 미각 강도의 대소가 다르거나 감도가 다른 미각물질에 대한 수용구조에 개인차가 있기 때문이다. 이처럼 개인차가 있는 미각을 표준화된 방법으로 측정하는 것은 그리 쉬운 일이 아니다. 미각강도 측정을 위한 Time-Intensity curve는 1958년 음식물의 특성에 대해 관심을 가졌던 Nielson에 의해 개발되었는데 최근에 Takagi와 Asakura가 Time-Intensity curve분석과 기록을 위해 microcomputer를 이용한 방법을 개발하였다. 그들의 방범은 Time-Intensity curve를 모니터에 보여주고 data를 floppy discs에 기록하여 software로 분석하는 것이다. 본 연구는 이것을 좀더 편리하고 단순하게 만들기 위해 감각의 강도를 전기적 저항의 interface를 통하여 computer에 입력하는 대신에 mouse를 이용하여 입력하는 방법을 개발하였다. 새로이 개발된 Time-Intensity curve를 이용하여 커피성분 중 설탕과 프림의 농도에 변화를 주어 맛의 좋고 싫음의 미각강도를 측정하는 실험을 하였다. 그 결과 상품개발의 중요한 지표가 되는 미각의 강도를 측정할 수 있었고 이것은 향후 commercial한 상품의 개발에 유용한 지표가 될 것이라고 본다.시사한다. 본 연구에서는 한국 연구 조직에서 일하는 외국인 연구자들의 동기 및 성과에 영향을 미치는 많은 요인들을 확인할 수 있었다. 상관관계, 분산분석, 회귀분석 등을 통해 활용 성과에 미치는 영향 요인들을 도출하였다. 설문 분석을 통하여 동기 및 성과 사이에는 강한 상관관계가 존재하는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며 이는 전통적인 동기 이론들과 부합한다. 대부분의 변수가 동기 및 성과에 동시에 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었으며 그중에서도 조직 협력 문화, 외국인 연구자의 의사소통 및 협력성, 외국인 연구자의 연구 능력 관련 변수들 및 연구 프로젝트의 기술수명주기, 외국인 연구자의 기존 기술지식의 흡수 등이 가장 중요한 변수로 나타났다. 이는 우리가 주로 중국 및 러시아 과학자들을 활용하여 상업화하는 외국인 연구인력 활용 패턴과도 일치하는 결과이다. 즉 우호적인 조직문화를 가지고 있는 연구 조직에서, 이미 과학기술 지식을 많이 가지고 있고 연구 능력도 높은 외국인 과학기술자를, 한국에서 기술이 태동 또는 성장하고 있는 연구 분야에서 활용하는 것이 가장 성과가 좋다는 사실을 확인시켜 주고 있다. 국내에서 최초로 수행된 본 연구는 외국인 연구 인력의 활용 성과가 매우 높으며, 우리의 과학기술혁신시스템을 보완하는 유효한 수단으로써 외국인 연구 인력이 중요한 대안이 될 수 있음을 발견하였다. 외국인 연구 인력을 잘 활용하기 위하여 문제점 및 개선방안을 활용 환경, 연구 인력이 중요한 대안이 될 수 있음을 발견하였다. 외국인 연구 인력을 잘 활용하기 위하여 문제점 및 개선 방안을 활용 환경, 연구 인력관리. 인력 교류사업, 외국인 과학자 지원 창구 등으로 나누어서 정리하였다. 연구시설, 주거시설 등의 하드웨어적 환경에 대한 개선도 중요하지만 연구 인력의 관리 능력 제고, 인력 교류 사업의 개선, 정보 제공 등 소프트웨어적인 활용 능력을 제고하는데 정책적인 관심을 기
