A Study on the Differentiation Strategy of Public Libraries through Strategic Competition Analysis: The Case of Public Libraries in Jung-Gu, Incheon (전략경쟁분석을 통한 공공도서관의 차별화 전략방안 연구 - 인천 중구의 공공도서관을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive differentiation strategy through strategy competition analysis on public libraries in order to enhance the competitiveness and efficiency of libraries. To that end, this study conducted a status analysis, management resources analysis, external and internal environment analysis on four public libraries located in Jung-gu, Incheon to identify the situation of strategy competition, and conducted a competitor analysis, customer segment analysis, and customer value analysis of four public libraries through various library related statistical data, national library operation evaluation data, library user satisfaction surveys, and interview with chief librarian and senior librarians. As the result, this study suggests three differentiation strategies by library. First of all, the four public libraries need to provide customized services targeting different target users within the region. Secondly, public libraries need to develop active library services that directly visit passive users, who are information have-nots, considering geographical accessibility and the composition of the population in the region. Last, public libraries should form a cultural community that cooperate with the local community and develop various programs that reflect the identity of the region.

An analysis of customer needs for the operation of unmanned food stores on a university campus (대학 캠퍼스 내 무인 식품 매점 운영에 대한 고객 요구도 분석)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to analyze customer needs for the operation of unmanned food stores on a university campus. Methods: A total of 329 responses were collected from customers who had purchased food at the stores. Statistical analyses were conducted using the SPSS program for frequency analysis, χ2-test, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Duncan's multiple range test. Results: On average, the overall satisfaction score for lunch and the eating location was 3.91 out of 5 points. Overall satisfaction was significantly higher for home cooking, and lower for eating at convenience stores (p < 0.001), and the score for eating with family was significantly higher than for eating alone or with friends (p < 0.001). On average, the intention to use an unmanned store received a score of 3.98 out of 5 points, while 'home cooking (3.76)' was significantly lower than other eating locations and eating at 'convenience stores (4.38)' was significantly higher than other eating locations (p < 0.05). The desired time of use for unmanned food stores was 'lunch (54.1%)', 'dinner (46.2%)', and 'afternoon snack (41.9%)', and the desired foods were 'doshirak (62.0%)', 'sandwich (56.2%)', 'fruit cup (54.4%)', 'salad (51.7%)', and 'kimbap (50.5%)'. There were significantly more opinions that single-person households would use unmanned food stores for dinner more than family households (p < 0.05), and significantly more willingness to purchase fruit cup (p < 0.05). The average prices (Korean won) that the subjects were willing to pay for the purchase of food were 4,991 for doshirak, 3,403 for salad, 2,745 for fruit cup, 2,609 for sandwich, and 2,235 for kimbap. Conclusion: For the successful operation of the unmanned food stores on the university campus, the store manager should grasp the customer's needs in real-time and establish an effective marketing strategy.

An empirical study on customer satisfaction: Mobile phone users in an emerging market (소비자 만족도에 관한 경험적 연구: 신흥 시장의 휴대폰 이용자를 대상으로)

  • For the growing importance of mobile communication, this study sets out to investigate the factors that influencing mobile phone customer satisfaction behavior through a structural equation model. This study proposes six factors model as the key determinants of customer satisfaction. Furthermore, we examine the moderating effect of demographic factors. The study was conducted using a structured questionnaire, data collected from 386 active subscribers. Results confirm that brand name, social influence and after sales service are the three significant determinants of consumer satisfaction. This study finding also suggests that demographic attributes have important consequences on customer satisfaction. The study findings offer an extended theoretical understanding towards customers' mobile satisfaction in the emerging market perspective and for practitioners, potentially to other similar context.

Why People Adopt the Virtual Bank? -An Empirical Study on Motivational Factors- (인터넷 전문은행 채택 요인에 관한 실증 연구)

  • In this study, a research model is constructed based on the theory of technology adoption. Independent constructs are largely grouped into two: (1) virtual bank characteristics (responsiveness, ease of use, economic benefits, and security), and (2) individual characteristics (innovativeness, self-efficacy and Internet experience). On the dependent side, user satisfaction is posited to influence the loyalty via intention to continuous use. PLS analysis of 194 data points collected revealed that economic benefits, security, innovativeness, and Internet experiences are significantly and positively associated with user satisfaction, intention to continuous use and loyalty. Paths among satisfaction and intention towards the loyalty are also validated. Details of results are discussed with practical and academic implications.

  • Although crafts industry in Chungcheongbuk-do where Cheongju International Craft Biennale is held has an excellent infrastructure, it is backward comparing with other regions. So we face up to the reality and desire to contribute to the creation of added value and the development of local crafts culture through study on the here and the hereafter of Chungbuk crafts industry. We figure out the customer satisfaction and the potential customer preference for cultural products on sale currently. Then, we establish a detailed marketing strategy and study the way how we can solve the current difficulties including design, technique and marketing.

  • This study aims at suggesting marketing policies for the postal business to accommodate itself to the rapidly changing business environment. Especially according to the development of Internet, the decrease of the market that is the basis of postal business enables the reason for the existence of postal business to be lost. In this environmental change, this article is a study that explained the survival policies of postal business in terms of marketing. This study, as a theoretical research, examined the current situations of postal business by means of the environment analysis of universal services and postal business, and as a practical research, this study suggested the new paradigm of postal business, the strengthened universal services, and the marketing policies in viewpoint of the diversified businesses by means of the practical investigation of the course of postal business focusing on the postal service users.

  • This research seeks to investigate transfer passengers' service evaluations of an airport. Transfer passengers are important for many airlines and hub airports because the needs of transfer passengers are quite different from O&D passengers. Despite the increasing importance of transfer passengers for airport operations, little research has been done to analyze their needs toward airport services. The data are collected from Japanese and Chinese transfer passengers to investigate airport services at Incheon International Airport. Through the survey, this research investigates the effects of important airport service attributes on customer satisfaction and behavioral intentions.

  • 감성은 콘텐츠 구매과정에서 결정적인 요소로 작용하며, 영화 콘텐츠의 탐색/소비 과정에서도 콘텐츠 소비의 새로운 기준이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 콘텐츠의 내용과 감성을 반영하기 위한 감성분류체계를 제안하였다. 제안한 감성분류체계를 기반으로 사용자의 취향과 감성에 기반하여 콘텐츠를 분류/추천하여 개인화된 편성을 제공하는 것을 "감성 큐레이션"이라 정의하고, 이를 위한 감성기반 큐레이션 방법론을 기술하고 실험을 통해 추천 효과를 입증하였다. 큐레이션은 기존의 개인화 추천과 달리 고객 취향뿐만이 아닌, 신선함, 다양성을 제공할 수 있어야 하며, 상용 큐레이션 서비스에서는 실제 시청으로 연결되는 비율이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 큐레이션 성능 평가를 위해 성향인지도, 신선도, 다양성에 기반한 만족도 설문조사 방법과 함께, 콘텐츠의 전체 시청률 대비 큐레이션을 통해 추천되어 증가된 시청률의 확대 비율인 Lift score 라는 새로운 평가 방법을 제안하여 그 효용성을 증명하였다.

An Empirical Study on China's Logistics policy development direction (중국의 물류정책 발전방향에 관한 실증 연구)

  • Since 1990s, more and more enterprises outsource the logistics to reduce the cost and improve core competence, which bring the prosperity of 3PL, industry in China. However, some data shows that the service quality of 3PL is not good enough, there is only a few companies that can provide systematic service, and the satisfaction of the customer is very low. Besides, many enterprises choose 3PL service provider mainly based on the price. Although there are many papers on the logistics service quality, they mainly research on single part, Studies on the relation between the service quality and the partnerships of outsourcing are scarce. Therefore, this study tries to research the service quality, partnership and the relationship between them in China's 3PL industry systematically. On the foundation of the service quality and partnership theories by former researchers, taking present situation of China's 3PL industry into consideration, this paper constructs service quality and the partnership evaluation system and develops LSQ-PP model to examine the relation between the service quality and partnership. and then use the Structural Equation Model (SEM) to analysis the full sample of collected questionnaires. Finally, the thesis summarizes the conclusion and offers suggestions for practice and future research.

  • As brand has increasingly influenced on marketing activities, local government, agricultural enterprises, and individual farmhouses autonomously develop and promote their own brands in the field of agrifood. Among developed brands, however, it could be possible for products with having no competitiveness and continuous control to lapse in the marketing. This study aimed to try develop to brand equity model in order for agri-food brands to evaluate and complement in the agricultural company. For doing this, ERRC were administered to interview the brands experts to discuss rice. The results of the analyses indicated that the areas with attribute weight of assets may consider bonding with customers for enhancing the value in the brand equity.
