  • The purpose of this study was to predict the factors which are related to the intention and behaviour for breast self-examination (BSE) of middle aged women using the theory of planned behavior (TPB). A survey using a structured questionnaire was conducted wih 217 middle aged women. BSE behaviour was assessed at 1-month follow-up. The overall fit of the structural model to the date was acceptable(${\chi}^2$=1246.6(p<.001), ${\chi}^2$/df=2.72, CFI=.831, TLI=.817, RMSEA=.089). The BSE behavior rate within one month was 56.2%. The TPB explained 43.9% of the variance in BSE intentions and 10.9% of the variance in BSE behavior. The subjective norm(${\beta}$=.364, p<.001) and the perceived behavioral control(${\beta}$=.553, p<.001) both positively influenced the behavioral intention, and the behavioral intention(${\beta}$=.768, p<.01) positively influenced the behavior. This study shows the model's applicability in explaining BSE behavior of middle aged women, and suggests that health intervention programs should focus on strengthening the intention for the promotion of BSE behavior.

  • This study empirically studied the factors affecting the intensity of use of mobile social media and fatigue. Theories for the research framework were based on the theory of planned behavior, the theory of private information protection, the theory of flow, and the theory of process incentives. As a result of data analysis, it was found that self-efficacy, user habits, and flow experience positively influence the intensity of mobile social media use. This study assumed that personal information protection issues negatively affect the intensity of mobile social media use, but have little influence on the use intensity. The intensity of media use had a positive effect on media fatigue. In other words, when the intensity of using mobile social media increased, the feeling of fatigue increased. The expected process incentives variable did not show a moderating effect between media use intensity and social media fatigue. The findings will have implications for social media-related companies and organizations that want to use social media tools for business and public services.

  • The purspose of this study is to examine the undergraduate students' attitudes, salient beliefs, perceived self-control and intentions for moderate drinking behavior of their own. Two hundred and twenty five students in two universities in Seoul and Suwon participated in this study. Questionnaires developed by this investigator under the guidance of the theory of planned behavior were used to collect data, Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA. Pearson correlation coefficients. and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. The majority of the students showed positive attitudes toward the moderate drinking behavior. Students perceived conflict messages. however. from their significant others about their moderate drinking behavior. While parents and other family members as sisters and brothers strongly supported the moderate drinking behavior of students, friends and school-mates did not. More than half of the students did not intend to reduce their alcohol consumption in the near future. Students' attitudes and perceived self-control were the predictor variables of the intention while subjective norms were not. Students who intended to reduce their alcohol consumption showed a more positive attitude, subjective norm, and higher perceived self-control scores than who did not. These students who were intent for moderate drinking behavior spent less money for drinking, had less opportunities to drink, and drank small amounts of alcohol Moderate Drinking Behavior programs focusing on students who were heavy drinkers, however, did not intend to reduce their alcohol consumption should be developed focused on their characters. Programs for students who intended to reduce their alcohol consumption also recommended to help the students' positive intention continued.

  • This study is an architectural design thesis aimed at designing a building at the River Thames in London, which could float along the river and be anchored in the river, in terms of the concept of the sense of place. The process of the study was as follows. First, theoretical backgrounds of the concepts of sense of place, placelessness, and non-place were examined and the sense of place of River Thames was analyzed. Second, the architectural planning elements could be applied to architectural design in terms of the relationship between the place and architecture, form of architecture, and behaviors of peoples. Third, the architectural design concepts and programs were specified based on the planning elements and a cultural complex that floats on the River Thames in London, England was proposed. The focus of this study was the process of formation of a sense of place by the cognition of architecture and people's activity, and this study claimed that the sense of place could be materialized by the metaphorically inherent property of the architecture.

  • The significant changes of convergence study in the 21st century is the shift from theoretical-based instruction to computer-based instruction. This study investigated the student's cognitive engagement in TPB(Theory of Planned Behavior) of accounting information classes in the Digital Convergence Era. Hypothesis test was conducted from 99 accounting information learners from four year course university in the Gyeonggi-do. A questionnaire was given and analyzed. The results showed. First, the TPB variables han a positive effect on intrinsic curiosity of students. Second, the subjective norm of TPB variables could develop student's enjoyment. Subject norm could have a positive effect on enjoyment. The results of this study may contribute to propose desirable ways of improving the psychological states in the relationship between TPB and cognitive engagement. In the future, variables of cognitive engagement will be compliment to analyze.

  • The purpose of this study was to apply Ajzen's theory of planned behavior to identify factors that affect nursing students decisions to receive Human Papilloma Virus(HPV) vaccination. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 195 nursing students in D city. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, Pearson correlation analysis and hierarchial regression with the SPSS Win 25.0 Program. The mean score of intention to receive HPV vaccine was 5.24±1.66 out of a possible 7. In the hierarchial regression analysis, attitudes (β=.446, p<.001), perceived behavior control (β=.321, p<.001) subjective norm (β=.132, p=.041), to receive HPV vaccine were significant predictors and explained 54.4% of intention to receive HPV vaccine. it is suggested that promotion programs and social environment to encourage to think it positively and perceive it easy and convenient should be developed, with nursing students' educatinon for sex education and public relations activitiesas as a nursing educators.

  • This study aims to develop a scale to measure the elderly's intention on home renovation and to verify its validity. As a methodological study based on the theory of planned behavior, this study provides 26 preliminary items in the pre-test. The first main test, performed to verify the content validity of the developed items, was followed by a second test of construct validity and reliability. As the result of the content validity test targeting experts, some of the original 26 items were excluded, while others were combined for a total of 22. As the result of the construct validity test of the scale, targeting the elderly aged 65 and over, the 22 items were narrowed down to 14 items, excluding the items that were unsuitable for communality and Eigen value. After once more conducting a factor analysis, the items were classified into five factors with a total cumulative variance of 72.5% and a Cronbach's α of 0.75. This study will contribute to the discussion of housing for the elderly by giving force to environmental regeneration activities through facilitating the identification of the home owners' intentions to renovate in order to improve the physical environment in decayed areas at a public level.
