  • Propellant remains as outage at engine shutdown contributes no useful impulse to the rocket and produces an unwanted increase in burnout weight. Minimization of outage, is therfore is a basic consideration in attaining the maximum performance capability of my bipropellant liquid rocket. This paper present the calculation procedures of outage and optimum loading propellant mass. And some control methods and measurement techniques for outage are presented.

  • In a cryogenic propellant tank the pressurant is contracted due to heat loss and the propellant itself evaporates. On a restartable propulsion system such phenomena are more intensive because the propellant contacts with the pressurant on the larger surface during the coast flight. Such heat and mass transfer phenomena should be considered for estimating the amount of pressurant. On the hypothesis that the heat and mass transfer quasi-equilibrium is achieved during the coast flight, the calculation process of the equilibrium pressure is presented. On the process the amount of loaded helium on the Falcon-1 second stage is calculated.

  • The requirement of high efficiency and low emission for marine diesel engines are being enforced because of air pollution and climate change on the earth. In connection with these, many new technologies are considered. But they are mainly for new building ship. It is necessary to be concerned about the improvement of engine performance for existing ship. In this paper, the simulation program for performance of marine two-stroke diesel engine was developed to predict the deteriorating performance according to elapsed time for existing ship. The result was compared with the result of the program named TOP-CODE which was used by engine maker and checked to be shown good agreement between them.

  • As a preliminary study for the development of the gas fueled marine engine, prediction of indicated performances was carried out for a spark-ignition engine using commercial software, GT-POWER. The optimized models through a previous study were applied for the simulation of the intake and exhaust systems in a SI engine. The Spark-Ignition Wiebe model was used to calculate the burn rate in the cylinders and the modified Woschni model was used to calculate the heat transfer to the walls. The predicted performances, such as air delivery, cylinder pressures and indicated mean effective pressures under a range of operating conditions showed good agreement with the experiments.

  • A main steam pipe system is a branch pipe that connects a boiler with a turbine. Water hammering analysis is very important for limiting the damage caused to pipe systems by operation conditions. Water hammering created by an unsteady flow in pipeline systems can cause excessive change in pressure, vibration, and noise. The main steam pipe structure should be designed to safely maintain the pressure pulsation and several vibrations under operation environments. This study evaluated the structural integrity of a main steam pipe during suspended and normal operation by using the ASME fatigue life methodology and finite element analysis. In the analysis, water hammering was used for transient analysis. The calculated alternating stress and fatigue stress were compared with the applicable limits of ASME fatigue life. All the evaluation results satisfied the requirements of the ASME fatigue life.

  • According to various information needs of end-users in information society, it brings forward a study on a database(DB) product costing method in order to activate the DB industry. The objective of this paper is to propose the DB product costing method of the DB service. The first thing classifies the elements of DB product cost accounting by the activities of the circulation system of information in the DB service. Based on the assumptions in terms of DB product cost accounting, the second is to develop its model. The last is to present the process of DB product cost accounting by applying the model to a company which provides the DB service. It is necessary to research continuously regarding the DB product costing method because its purpose is to decide a DB service charge. The right pricing decision in the DB service charge will contribute toward the growth of the DB industry acceleratedly.

  • This study aims to analyze the effects of design parameters of the slotted cooling liner for air-breathing propulsion system. The three kinds of design parameters of the slotted cooling liner were selected and were investigated effect on the cooling performance of the slotted cooling liner. In this paper calculation results for inner wall temperature of cooling liner from heat transfer calculations were presented.

  • 대형 저속 2행정기관을 탑재한 선박에서 축계배치와 관련된 선미측 후부 메인엔진 베어링의 손상이 증가하는 경향이 있다. 메인엔진을 포함한 선체는 최적화로 인하여 변형하기 쉬운 경향에 있고, 고출력을 요구하는 추진 축계는 이것과 반대의 경향을 가지므로 축계 배치 변화에 대한 감도가 높아져서 메인엔진 베어링의 손상이 발생하게 된다. 이러한 문제에 대한 대책으로 메인엔진 베어링을 포함한 보다 정확한 배치계산을 할 필요가 있다. 이 논문에서는 축계배치계산 고정도화의 일환으로 메인엔진 베어링 수가 베어링 반력에 미치는 영향에 대하여 검토한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network)의 종단 사용자 기기의 한계적 계산 능력 및 무선 링크의 대역폭과 기존 외부 네트워크와의 연결을 고려하여 선택적 신뢰 기관(Trusted Third Party, TTP) 서비스를 수용한 상호 공정 계약 서비스 프로토콜을 제안하였다. 제안한 서비스는 종단 사용자 기기의 한계적 능력에 대해 해당 내부 네트워크의 TTP 와 공개키를 기반으로 인증 서비스를 수행하도록 하였으며, 이후 종단 사용자는 해당 인증 결과를 기반으로 외부 네트워크의 전자 상거래 주체와의 상호 메시지 교환을 위한 서비스 프로토콜을 수행하도록 하였다. 또한 사전에 외부 네트워크에 대한 전자 상거래 서비스 요청에 한하여 TTP의 부분적 서비스를 수행하도록 허용하여 시스템의 대단위 계산 능력에 대한 효율성을 보장할 수 있다.

  • GPS 관측기법을 지적측량에 도입하기 위하여 GPS를 이용한 새로운 지적측량 모형(Model)을 정립하는 연구와 관련 기술들을 개발하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이와 같은 추세에 발맞추어 GPS 자료처리 및 기준점 성과산출과 관련하여 국내ㆍ외 측량 관련 상용 GPS 자료처리 소프트웨어의 현황 및 성능을 파악하고, 자료처리 알고리즘을 분석하여, 우리 실정에 적합한 GPS 자료처리 소프트웨어를 개발하는 것을 본 연구의 목적으로 한다. 본 연구에서는 국내ㆍ외의 전문 업체, 기관(대학)이 보유하고 있는 상용 소프트웨어 현황 분석 및 자료처리 방법에 따른 오차 발생을 연구하여 기선해석, 망 조정, 좌표변환 등 에 관련된 전문 소프트웨어 기능을 비교 분석하여 자료처리 산출성과의 정확도를 향상시키는 방향을 모색한다. 또한 기존 GPS 자료처리 소프트웨어에 적용된 알고리즘을 분석하고 지적측량성과 산출에 최적인 알고리즘을 연구하여 새로운 지적기준점 성과 산출을 위한 지적측량 성과계산 소프트웨어를 개발한다.
