  • This study is aimed at analyzing the structural characteristics of vegetation in the Sangwonsa(Temple) valley, Yongmunsan(Mt.), and to collect basic data for research of large mountains which are located in the temperate, central region. The research on the entire vegetation struc trees are distributed over a wide area, accounting for 75.0% of theture of Sangwonsa(Temple) valley observed that oak total vegetation in the area. We examined 17 plots(unit area: $400m^2$) in the deciduous forest, dividing the trees into 5 community types based on the average important value. The 5 community types are as follows: A mixed dominant group of Carpinus laxiflora and Quercus serrata, a mixed dominant group of Quercus serrata and Quercus variabilis, a mixed dominant group of Quercus mongolica and Quercus serrata, a dominant group of Quercus serrata, a dominant group of Acer pictum supsp. mono. It is expected that the oak trees competing with Carpinus laxiflora and Acer pictum supsp. mono would flourish in a deciduous forest. The Shannon's species diversity index(H') was 0.3708~1.3083.

  • This study was conducted to investigate bird community and to suggest a proper way how to manage and protect bird community in Tokyusan National Park. The survey was carried over 2 main trail districts by line transect method at 20, February and 22, July in 1993. The observed birds were belong to 5 orders 17 families 34 species, they also have Sparrow Hawk Accipiter nisus, Kestrel Falco tinunnculus(natural monument no. 323), White-backed Woodpecker Dendrocopos leucotos(R) and Japanese Waxwing Bombycilla japonica(R). It is estimated that grass region above 1,000m altitude provided breeding habitats for Gray-headed Bunting Emberiza fucata in summer and wintering habitats for Rosy Finch Leucosticte arctoa in winter, This shows that this region should be protected for inhabitation of these birds. Mujukucheontong valley of Tokyusan National Park, which had been a good habitat for valley-inhabituating birds before twenty years ago, has a lower species richness by increasing using density, and so this valley shoud be properly managed urgently.

  • This study aims to obtain basic data for systematic restoration by analyzing the monitoring results of the Shimwon Valley Ecological Landscape Restoration Project area in Jirisan National Park. In 2017, when the restoration project was completed, 12 monitoring plots and 4 control plots were installed for vegetation monitoring, and changes in the relative dominance, species diversity index and similarity between 2017 and 2020 were analyzed. The species diversity index of the surveyed areas where trees were planted during the restoration project was 0-1.4552, and the similarity index with the control group was 0% except for one survey area at 1.32%. The very low species diversity index and similarity index in the survey areas were attributed to the loss of trees planted during the restoration project due to death, damage by wild boars, or erosion by running water. On the other hand, the species diversity index was 0.9538-2.3222 in the monitoring plot where no tree was planted, and the similarity index was analyzed to be as high as 8.33%. It is necessary to continue the long-term monitoring for the development of ecological landscape restoration methods in the national park and analysis of the succession in monitoring plots where no trees were planted.

  • The study analyzed the effects of topographic structures and altitude in mountainous parks in Mt. Namsan in Gyeongju on the generation of anions. The temperature was at ridge ($9.82^{\circ}C$) > valley ($8.44^{\circ}C$), the relative humidity valley (59.01 %) > ridge (58.64 %), the solar radiation ridge ($34.40W/m^2$) > valley($14.69W/m^2$), the wind speed ridge (0.63m/s) > valley(0.37m/s), and the negative ion valley($636.81ea/cm^3$) > ridge($580.04ea/cm^3$). In the valley, the correlation with altitude was verified for the temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, and negative ion generation in the valley. The relative humidity, solar radiation, and negative ion indicated a positive correlation while the temperature had a negative correlation. In the ridge, the correlation with altitude was verified for the temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, solar radiation, and negative ion generation. The relative humidity, solar radiation, and negative ion generation indicated a positive correlation while the temperature and wind speed had a negative correlation. The regression analysis showed the prediction equation of y=-0.006x+9.663 (x=altitude, y=temperature) in the valley and y=-0.009x+11.595 (x=altitude, y=temperature) in the ridge for the temperature, y=0.027x+53.561 (x=altitude, y=relative humidity) in the valley and y=0.008x+56.646 (x=altitude, y=relative humidity) in the ridges for the relative humidity, and y=0.027x+53.561 (x=altitude, y=negative Ion generation) in the valley and y= 0.008x+56.646 (x=altitude, y=negative Ion generation) in the ridge for the negative ion generation.

  • The aim of this study was to use the information deduced from biotopemap in Boryeong, Chungnam province conducted in 2011 and to select the wildlife survey point. The information used for the study was deduced from the knowledge and experience of wildlife specialists and was realized by 6 environmental variables (Outside distance from food vegetation, Outside distance from farm land, Outside distance from forest, Human density, Outside distance from road, Outside distance from water). 6 environmental variables were modeled by map overlay method and the model could deduce the correlation of 94.72% as a result of comparing with occurrence information. The areas predicted to have many occurrences were rural landscapes, forests, and valleys, and they can be used to deduce the quality wildlife survey results in the limit of survey range (area, schedule, and budget). However, it had the limit points such as the inside of forests was excluded, all species did not prefer the same habitat. The following studies are needed for this part in the future.
